I just joined this team (procrastinated on that too) and I love this thread!

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR!

I will fold those 3 baskets of clean laundry after work today instead of digging through them for clothes in the morning!

I love this post! I AM A PROCRASTINATOR!!! But not today, I just finished my workout after not working out because I was sick....2 weeks ago! And now I'm going to go fold at least 1 of my 3 baskets of clean laundry!
Good luck everyone.

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR! I am procrastinating right now. My house needs a serious cleaning and I would love to have a pretty, organized, decorated house instead of something that's looked like it's under construction for I can't remember how long now.

I'm going to log off and get to work. Thanks for the kick in the pants!

Dfwgal,

I feel exactly the same way. I've been planning on doing artwork to give each of my children and my husband for Christmas. Since I'm a stay at home I have no income but still want to do something nice. However, I cannot seem to devote any time to anything I want to do because I want to get the house perfectly in order before I start. Unfortunately , that never happens.

That's what she said

Although I attempt to not procrastinate, I my son often says that I rush him.

Yes I get up every morning, even on the weekends at 4:30am. I still tend to put off bills, or calls that I need to do.
Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

I am a major procrastinator with everything...homework, work assignments, and anything else. I usually start getting ready when it is time to leave so my friends tell me an hour earlier than everyone else. emoticon Right now I should be already cleaned my house and have dinner started. My house though not messy is not as clean as I like it and I have no idea what dinner will be. Oh, my exercise plan is still just that, but I have one.

And then I wonder why I feel so rushed at night. emoticon

I am a super Procrastinator! I wouldn't let anyone in my house at the moment. Papers everywhere LAUNDRY! Always so much laundry and just stuff that needs doing. Kids just leave their stuff lying around. I love crafting but always feel too guilty if the house isn't in order. I woke up early to get stuff done so here I go! Thanks for this challenge. I probably needed this one the most today!

I am the procrastinator. However I need to look at it as a must do. I did break a bad nail biting habit after 25 years and my nails lasted 3 months, I hope to do the same thing with exercise. However I work right besides Dairy Queen at the bank. No I really don't sit down I stand at the teller line. However I have been introduced to the French Vanilla Moo-lates and with happy hour at 1/2 price (since it has a straw), my co-workers think I need an intervention. The have been threatening to take a picture of my drivers licenses over there so the employees could ban me from buying one.
I know it is suppose to take at least 21 days to break a bad habit. So start with this If you don't like to exercise then start with walking 20 min. 2-3 days a week. Then next week and more time or days with weight training.
For those who like to eat. I would say substitute what you are eating. For example, do more smaller portions of fruits and veggies, (more frequent) throughout the day along with water the calories won't add up as much. Just don't deprive yourself of it all together or you will binge it. Find another way of rewarding yourself. Small steps that is what I will try. NO MORE I DON"T WANT TO, attitudes, I am not 3 years old.(HAHA)

I am a procrastinator!! I sit in my big comfy chair, reading my book, when I know that I should really be reading while on the elliptical. I tell myself all day long while I'm at work that I'm going to work out in the evening, but by the end of the work day, and by the time I get done making supper, I just lounge around. This needs to stop. I'll never reach my weight goals this way. I've even enlisted my sister to text me in the evenings telling me to get up and exercise. We'll see if that helps.

New word added to my vocabulary. Procrastin-eater. This is especially true for me on the weekends. My life is so structured Monday through Friday that when the weekends roll around I get overwhelmed by all the things I still need to do at home. I start the task and then take a snack break. before you know it it's the end of the day and I have done more snacking than cleaning!

Quitting is NOT an Option

I would say I"m a procrastin-eater - seems like the perfect term. I always do that when I have something I don't want to do. I really need to concentrate on finding something else to focus on....like the project at hand :)

Not only am I a procrastinator, Im a procrastin-EATER. one of my favourite ways of avoiding tasks Im feeling anxious about is to head to the kitchen, the shops wherever. the more I have to do, the more i will sometimes binge.

I've been really trying to allow myself to feel that anxiety rather than stuffing my face to push it away. but Ive got to say it's not as easy as it sounds.

Anyone else a procrastin-eater?

This is me too, I always think I might feel more energetic later, but it doesn't happen so then I pretend that I just run out of time, but it is really just a lack of motivation.

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR!!!

I didn't "forget" to workout... I just didn't do it. I always say, "I'll do it later", but later never comes and I go to bed at the end of the day without being active.

I am a procrastinator.
I am passing my mid 30's this year and think it has finally caught up with me (making the bare min. to loose 24lb and the dream loss 40lbs.)
I have two kids who should be my motivation, but my perfectionism (to cover the most distance, to keep the same pace, to not back track and ruin my mileage) keeps me from taking the along with me or doing videos or the fitness game/programs.
Perfection is my enemy, all or nothing, if I can't start at the beginning and get a 100% then I don't wanna try. Need a support system, afraid to put myself out there.

Stay tuned for the continuing saga!

I keep telling myself I will get up in the morning and work out, but then I keep hitting the snooze button! emoticon I am going to try really hard starting tomorrow to not hit the snooze button, log right on here to spark people and listen to the spark radio station for some motivation!!! Then I plan on getting right to the treadmill. I will let you know how well it goes tomorrow!! emoticon

My proscratination is perpetuated by my perfectionism. If I don't have time or energy or whatever to work out perfectly I tend to just skip it all together.

My goals: stop thinking, i'll do it tomorrow.
make the time to eat right and exercise, even if my workout isn't perfect.
blog everyday about my day to provoke reflection about what i did that day
Enjoy the challenge to eat right and exercise and have with it!

So, here i go. Let's get physical, physical!

My boys are fed and are playing on the floor, I've eaten breakfast before 10 am for once, and I've just written a post in another group complaining that I don't have time to find for exercise. Yet I'm online, wasting time that I could be using to walk on the treadmill.

My goals?

To complete email checks and Facebook statuses by 9am every morning at the very latest. After that, I MUST get off the computer, it drains all of my time.

Laundry is to be done every other day.

Sweeping and/dishes done daily or as needed after the hubby gets home (no sense trying to squeeze them in while watching the boys)!

I will work on my friend Linda's necklace while the boys take their afternoon nap. It must be done by Sept. 15th.

Start a schedule for making Christmas gifts.

I will take a walk either on the treadmill or outside for at least 15 minutes a day.

Enroll for online courses tomorrow...
Pick up the mail...
Book an appointment with the dentist...

I need to give my self an actual date to finish these tasks now... I have tomorrow off from work, so that will work well. Now, to do it! emoticon

I am a major procrastinator and have been my whole life! Right now, I am on the computer (to track because I just ate dinner) instead of doing all of the following: laundry, grading, writing a tax check and addressing it, taking off my nail polish and putting on new, showering, making an appointment with the eye doctor, among many other things on my list!! One book that does help me (and I keep it in my work bag, actually) that may help other perfectionist/procrastinators is by Brene Brown...it's called The Gifts of Imperfection. Give it a try. I keep it with me to remind myself that a little bit of progress is better than none. Easier said than done, but I try!

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR!!!

I have laundry in the hamper, washer, dryer and clean basket! It will get washed/dried/put away by Friday.

I also have plants that need to be planted before they dry out and a headboard that's been in my garage for a year waiting to be refinished. Both will get done this weekend!

Now that's I've written it down I HAVE to do it!

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR!

I've always known it. I won't admit to it in public, though, as people with more Protestant work ethics will sneer at me, but, yes...

I buy clothes on mail order so I do not have to do the ironing. The pile sites there, like a small mountain kindgom in Tibet, occasionally swaying when lorries drive down the road, a big nest for cats, who occasionally vomit up their Brekkies within the cosy cotton trousers they call home...

This year, I will aim to acquire the services of an ironing lady....

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR!!!!!

I don't think that I've ever written it anywhere but I have vocally admitted it several times over. It is such a sad case and disease that I inherited from both of my parents. Each day is a challenge and nothing ever seems to get completely done. I only hope that this is a new step in becoming the woman that I envision myself to be in my mind!

I have to put away my clean clothes; exercise; paint my first floor, steps and hallways; pack up clothes and items to donate to the Salvation Army and Schedule a pickup; choose a paint color and design for my room; and organize my filing system for my bills.

I am a procrastinator!!!

Like many of you, I too believe I work well under pressure, but yet always resolve after a deadline to "never leave it to the last minute again!"

I have wanted to get my daughters room organized for weeks, but am overwhelmed by the mess and don't have the motivation to get started on it. I vow to accomplish this tomorrow!

It is comforting to know I am not alone! Reading some of these posts it was like hearing myself self-talk. My procrastination favorites:
Laundry - will wash and sort...doesn't get put away until I get mad from searching for clothes and all the folding I have done starts to come undone from all the searching by myself, hubby and kids.
Dishes - what is bad is I have a dishwasher. I will move clean dishes from dishwasher to counter (in an attempt to finish the chore faster...yeah right) and they will stay there until used or it becomes a space issue for new dishes.
De-cluttering - papers, projects, toys, stuff...it's everywhere. You could just about label it my decorating style :P It is visually not pleasing, but it's so hard to let go and even harder to organize. It's bad to say but I really just want somebody to come in and hold my hand through the process. Unfortunately no funds for that.

You would think identifying the problem would be a good step towards solving it. However, it's just more mind clutter. How do you flip the switch from thinking about doing something, to just doing it????

I became a procrastinator!
I went all the way from religiously checking off to-do lists even before the deadline, to even procrastinating my fun activities! I guess I went from one extreme to the other, and looking to find my balance here.
I am procrastinating right now - oh, the long word doc with updates that I need to send before the monthly telecofnerence :)) Stopped somewhere in the middle of a sentence and started checking my emails, my spark page and spark teams... and so on.

I've been procrastinating 2 exams that I have to take until the end of the month - they're both online and because there's no set time and date, I procrastinate.

Same with my CPR that needs to be updated every year...

Same with even posting on my cooking blog - which I love! And I have everything ready, just need to add the pics and hit 'send' button.

Pure procrastination, so hard to break through! And I can't believe I'm here, in the maze of procrastination!

Ok, let's find the way out of this maze!!! emoticon

I am a procrastinator, I need to clean off my kitchen table; too much mail, daycare projects and clutter. I need to out my clothes away, I did laundry on Sunday! But the one thing I have learned to not procrastinate with working out, go to the gym in the morning before work that way nothing gets in your way and I meet my neighbor on the front porch @ 5:30am no calls, no whining, just show up and get moving.

Always be yourself, because the people that matter donít mind and the ones that mind donít matter

I do procrastinate until I feel something is "crunch time". Right now I need to get my homework done, clean the house, and go to the grocery. I am proud that I did not put off exercising today, and I will try not to put it off tomorrow.

To my papers works, and clean the house, I am procrastinator I admit that. But for my daily exercises, even its hard and I felt lazy sometimes, but I still kicking my butt to do my daily exercises. Sometimes I did my walked in the afternoon plus do some farm worked especially now we are building a greenhouse.

Exercises is one of my medicine. It gives me a happy thoughts and peace of mind, and I felt great. Only my exercises I try not to procrastinate this if I can.

I had to laugh when I read my horoscope today:

"It's time to be your own drill sergeant. Give yourself some discipline! But don't be cruel to yourself -- simply apply some tough love. Is there a difficult task you've been avoiding, an awkward conversation you've been putting off or a tedious obligation you've been pretending doesn't exist? Well, you have to deal with it -- now. Take a deep breath and dive right in. There's no sense in delaying the inevitable. Get this over with."

Needless to say, I went and exercised, put my clean clothes away, and now I am getting started on a final assignment. Let's beat procrastination!!

"Go in peace my daughter. And remember that, in a world of ordinary mortals, you are a Wonder Woman!" Queen Hippolyte (Wonder Woman's mother)

Doing just a little bit during the time we have available
puts you that much further ahead than if you took no action at all.

I am not much of a procrastinator. I am very OCD when it comes to house work and the way things are suppose to go. Every now and then though I get "lazy" for a day or two. But always end up getting back on track because I can't stand not to do my "routine" and have things where they are suppose to be. Sometimes it interfears with my interaction with others and I have to step back and realize that not everyone shares my same goals in life.

I am the biggest procrastinator there is! I have laundry to do in every room, I have dishes that need to be done, and my kitchen needs to be cleaned! How horrid is that?

But today I will do some laundry! (by the way, a never ending job)

How did your weight loss goal get posted on the bottom of yur post?

I AM A PROCRASTINATOR!!!

I have laundry folded downstairs just never made it up to my bedroom to be put away. WOW that sounds so bad. I also set my alarm two times in the AM and I have a phone set to get up and do my workout but I just keep hitting off and/or snooze.

Today I will put ALL my clothes away from downstairs and get a workout in before noon. Thinking my step dvd with Cathe.

I know that I am a chronic procrastinator and work hard to overcome it everyday. Although I've been doing better, right now I just can't seem to focus on doing my taxes. I know I'm putting it off because I have to do more gathering of documentation this year than previous years and because I don't want to spend the money frivolously.

When I take college courses I tend to procrastinate on the work especially in the Spring. Today I have to finish up a quiz and study for mid-terms, but I have been avoiding it. So my goal today is to get this quiz done and review at least 3 Modules.

I have been procrastinating when it comes to writing my book... I got the first two chapters done, and then kind of stalled... I will stop the procrastination by doing some research right now.

I procrastinate in the things I don't like to do, makes sense right? The laundry is done, and folded, but needs to be put away. I bought a picture to hang in my bedroom, but it's leaning against the wall. My cup is sitting beside, I just need to fill it with water. And so on...

YES!!! that is me I have been procrastinating..I even tell myself that i'm procrastinating, and I still don't do anything, I let the bad things that are going on in my life keep me from doing what I know that if I start will make me happier.

Oh man, IEP season for us was in October and November. We do have some that are still being worked on. I feel so tired coming back from break that I have started procrastinating with organizing my class room. I've also been slacking on some stuff at home. :-/ Let's get motivated to get it together. :-)

I have been refusing to do a few chores at work because they seem like way too much work to accomplish. I really appreciate this thread, though, and it's motivated me to get the lead out and get the job done.

:O

Oh, specifics: I need about three more plans for gifted education for my campus, a questionnaire for parents and students to complete to get their input, and to complete about 7 IEP's for gifted kiddos.

Hi I am a Procrastinator....

I have a pile of papers on my desk that need to be filed.
I have to finish updating my website, but I keep putting it off cause doing other things is just so much funnier.
I forget to track my food cause I'll do it "later"

Today I will:

-bike after work and try to get the husby to come with

-cook a well balanced dinner even though we are meeting friends at the local greasy spoon (no thanks, we already ate will be my mantra)

-vacuum the front three rooms!

-clean the bathroom (tackled the kitchen last night)

I try to keep my lists to 5 items or below as to not feel overwhelmed.

The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had to courage to start.

After procrastinating for months and not getting it done over Easter break I am finally winning the house cleaning battle.

I have conquered THREE closets in my apt.
I have donated 4 bags of clothing/shoes to Goodwill.
I have tossed out 1 huge contractor bag of garbage and have a half filled second one.
I am having a tag sale of all of my unwanted goodies on September 18
I am almost to my halfway point of my weight loss.
I am winning because of support from teammates like you guys!

Getting back on track again!

I procrastinate. With anything that I don't like to do or do not want to do. I should really do it as soon as possible so that I can get it over and done with. I'm like this at work and at home.

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, it is yours. If it doesn't, it never was.
