tofurky's website has a list of yummy recipes of unique ways to make it. I tried the crockpot tofurky recipe this year and it was great! It had onion soup mix, cranberry sauce, garlic powder, and veggie broth...it was also really moist.

I really like the Trader Joe's roast. But I could not find it before Thanksgiving. I went there yesterday, and they had it. It tastes better than the tofurkey.

I'm more partial to Trader Joes roast which I believe is made by the Gardein brand.

Sandra, I made it this year for the first time. I didn't want to use three tablespoons of oil. I used only one tablespoon of oil and two tablespoons of water. Than I realized I had vegetable broth and added some of that too. It was good! So, I would add vegetable broth or even water. Everyone loved the vegetables! I added some seasoning (21 Salute from Trader Joes) to the veggies. It was a hit. Unfortunetly, I didn't think the ToFurkey was that wonderful. It was my first time trying it. It was okay but I don't think I will get it again. I'm going to try another roast for Christmas. :)

I made one once. I couldn't cut it with a knife. The dog wouldn't eat it. He did enjoy playing with it as it was nice and bouncy like a rubber ball. I followed the instructions to a T.

If it is going to be it is up to me !!!

I'm sure you can sub out the oil for more liquid. Just google. Here's a crock pot recipe I found, no oil.

I made a tofurky for Thanksgiving, as I always do, because I love it, but this year because I am paying more attention to what I am eating I noticed it takes a lot of oil. I know the directions say 3 T of oil and 3 T of soy sauce for the base, but half way through it started smoking and I had to use like twice as much base as it said to use.
That is a lot of oil and a lot of fat. Does anyone know if I can use some water for the extra base that is needed? I bought another tofurky for Christmas, but I am looking forward to using less oil than I used for Thanksgiving.
