I find eating healthier costs so much more money! It is frustrating! I am enjoying reading this and could use help with keeping the price down as well. I am not working now so it is tough. Besides the normal bills, food is the highest bill and that has to get cut down. Thanks!
I'm glad to know several of you are able to stick to the meal plan for a reasonable price. I love that meal plans take all the guesswork and planning out and make it so much easier. Thanks for the tip on that book JANEMMMZ, it sounds like another place to find some great ideas on my budget.

I found a book the other day called "Eat Vegan on $4 a Day" by Ellen Jaffe Jones. Of course you have to prep and cook yourself, but it really is possible to eat very well for not a lot of money of you plan well and shop carefully.

Because I wanted to report back to my team about this plan, I just ordered it. I spent $120.00 CAD on the first week's menu. I know I won't eat all of it though and it will last more than a week, so you could pick the meals you wanted to buy all the ingredients for to keep it to $75.00. Another option, if money is tight - Dr. McDougall has a free plan you can try. On his web page, go to the right of the page and scroll down to "choose a day". The plan will come up when you click on day one. The recipes look easy and I doubt too expensive. www.drmcdougall.com/free.html

In another topic the Happy Herbivore meal plans were mentioned, and this sounds like a good fit for me. I'd like to try it, but money is a little tight right now and I'm wondering if anyone has an idea how much groceries cost per week for an individual. The meal plans with calories already figured sound perfect, but I'm limited to a max of $75. a week for groceries with $50. a week being more of my goal. If anyone had tried it and can give me an estimate of cost that would be awesome!
