My daughter is a big fan of vanilla almond milk, while I much prefer vanilla coconut milk. There's fewer calories in the coconut milk and it has a much lighter flavor.
I do NOT knowingly eat GMO's, though I know it happens from time to time. Boca offers non-gmo veggie burgers if you can find them in the tan/beige box and they only have 70 - 90 calories per patty. They say Non-GMO right on the box. Some food manufacturer's actually care enough to offer products that have not been genetically modified. There are several other brands as well such as Amy's and LightLife. LightLife has a LOT of calories (190 each), more than twice as many so I don't usualy use those unless I cut them in half.
I really like the vegan lentil burger recipe (under 130 calories) that I found here on SparkRecipes. They freeze well and can be whipped out and reheated at any time for a quick and healthy snack or as part of a healthy, balanced meal. recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?
I have a recipe makeover that I really like where they are a little spicier: recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-detail.asp?
I hope you find something that you can eat that doesn't upset your stomach. That's miserable, I know!
Almost forgot Agave - becaue I don't have a sweet tooth it isn't an issue for me, but I will use locally grown, organic raw honey over agave syrup any day. I don't believe agave syrup is a healthy option because it is so refined, but if you must use it, Ibelieve you're better off using the lighter syrups instead of the dark amber.
