Yep, food tracking really makes a huge difference! When I compare the way I eat now to how I ate before, I'm sort of surprised I didn't weigh even more.

On another message board, someone mentioned that at one point they weren't tracking calories because vegetarian instructors told her that it wasn't necessary if you're on a vegetarian diet. That's almost less true for meatless diets: tracking is important so we stay under certain numbers (calories, fat), but also so we meet certain numbers (vitamin D, calcium, protein, iron)!

Jenae, I did the same - stopped tracking food, yet still weighed regularly. After I gained three pounds, I decided that for now at least, I must track!

Tracking food along with measuring worked well for me.
I am human so I decided to stop doing it for a little while.
The weight started creeping up again.
Have gone back to tracking and weighing again.
Only gained a few pounds but that was a real wake up call for me.

I have to agree with everyone here; logging food really works. It's the main thing that really helped me lose the weight. emoticon

Tracking food does make a big difference! I never realised how much that tiny bit of cheese was adding... and it has made me conscious of calcium, protein and magnesium and potassium. Enjoy the journey

I now understand how important it is to be accountable to myself and with the SP program.
I log everything related to my lifestyle change.
It really does work.

Great findings!! It's amazing what we learn after so much time of doing the same thing. Keep up the good work!

Sounds like you're off to a great start.

My weight didn't really go up from my twin pregnancy (well, it went up, but it came right back down!). It went up when they started solid food, and I got the icky mommy habit of nibbling leftovers. And then it went up a LOT when I stopped pushing them everywhere in the stroller!! LOL! I didn't realize how much accidental exercise I was getting! :-)

Keep up the good work.

I agree, I do much better when I track my food and my exercise.

This is my 3rd day to be doing this program, and I have already learned 3 things. I am pretty impressed!
1) I haven't been eating enough protein
2) By logging my eating I've discovered that snack time is where I tend to blow it the worst. Apparently, 3:00-5:00 is my weakest time to resist temptation.
3) It makes a big difference to log my eating and have other people know. Wouldn't have imagined I'd care, but I was so embarrassed when I went to bed last night and grateful for the added motivation.

Now I know when I need to really watch it, and if I plan ahead I can handle it before it handles me, haha! I study from 12:00-2:30 while the twins nap, then we go pick up kids from school and come home to snack. I'm going to have to prepare myself something ahead of time and have it sitting there so I can grab it and eat in the car. I'm hoping that'll keep me from going ape on the food when we get back. Maybe drinking a bottle of water on the trip will help, too. I haven't been meeting the water goal, so there's an idea.....

Also, I did a beginner exercise set yesterday, and it totally kicked my booty. I'm sore today! Didn't realize I was that bad off. Before the twins, I used to run 3 miles a day, but now I'm just a big ole jelly roll, yuck!
