I like the no meat athlete. I do eat a lot of raw foods, especially for breakfast, but I do bake a lot and I am not ready to give that up right now. If I had a good reason, such as to help reverse disease or as part of a training program for a sporting event I may consider it.

The 80-10-10 plans does not appeal to me.
This would only set me up for craving other foods.
Good luck to all those who are going to try it.

you just have to eat Lots of fruit on that diet. I was reading that you can eat 16 oranges, 8 bananas, pound or more of grapes, or a whole watermelon for one meal.

How interesting! When I first saw the "80-10-10", I thought it would be another one of ridiculous no/low carb diets. Death diets is what I call them. This, I will actually read over! Thanks, Jules.

Yeah, I live on my own and don't eat out much so I think it'll be okay for one month... though, my coworkers already think I'm crazy for being vegan so I'm sure this will just confirm my weirdness!

I was thinking about thanksgiving and will probably eat some cooked foods that day but I'll also try to take a lot of fruit salads and things to my family dinner.

I just got bored eating simple meals and I do cook for someone else so it became too much to deal with. I think if I'd been on my own it would've been easier to keep at it. No, I was never hungry - in fact I couldn't begin to eat all that Dr. Graham suggested, probably why I lost the weight so fast.

Boni - were you hungry or why did you have a hard time sticking to it?

I think I might try it for the month of November and see how I feel. I've heard it's really easy to under-eat and not get enough calories but I'm going to keep tracking my calories on here to make sure I'm getting enough.

I tried it for a couple of days. It takes a great deal of willpower to stick with a diet of just fruits and vegetables and mono-meals. However, I lost two pounds the first day. Just couldn't stick with it.

It is a raw foods diet developed by Dr. Douglas Graham. I have not read up on it, but I think the idea is 80 carb (fruits and veggies), 10 percent plant-based fats (avocados, nuts), 10 percent protein (lots of leafy greens). Here is some info on it. www.everydiet.org/diet/80-10-10-diet
