Dear TOBEFREE, I just saw your post regarding your dinner of shrimp, mashed potatoes and salad. I am not sure if you are aware that adding things like Parmesan cheese and ranch dressing can significantly increase the calorie count in a meal. Mashed potatoes can also be laden with fat and calories depending on how they are prepared. My suggestion for such meals in the future would be to use low fat salad dressing in your salad, fat free milk in your mashed potatoes. even better, switch switch to roasted potatoes or sweet potatoes for your starch which have a much better nutritional profile than mashed white potatoes.

a humans mouth and digestive system is made to eat fruits, veggies and nuts only. those items contain more nutrients than meat. and we do not need as much protein as we have been led to believe. meat was an emergency food we had to learn to eat.

Tonight, I have shrimp, mashed potatoes, and a salad( loaded with ranch and parmesan cheese). Im finding it hard to incorporate so many veggies with a meat hungry family. We have eaten more seafood in the last week than we ever have. I have 3 more days of seafood, and then it is soley vegetables. I think I will stock up on frozen veggies. These are still very nutritional right?

My goodness it is so easy to do. I can find myself loading up on carbohydrates easily. Bread is my kryptonite. LOL

That is one of the reasons I am in the predicament I am in now. I now track what I eat and measure my portions.

God before everything. Peace above anything.

One of the best things you can do is track what you eat. Also, try to limit your intake of simple carbs and increase fruit and veggies. Good luck!!

Today I found out that it is very easy to go over your calorie intake, even when eating vegetarian. I work in a deli so there are meats all around me. I have done very well staying away from them but, I did not realize how many calories I consumed today, thinking I was eating healthy. Something I have to watch out for.
