Thanks! It takes fooooreverrrr! :( I don't mind doing the big leaf lettuce - but the small ones... ooooy vey! It must take me 15 mins straight standing over the sink doing each one. I need to get a salad spinner - I'm actually planning on getting one I saaw at TJ Maxx from Sharper Image - it has a slicer attached to it so you can slice the veggies and they go right into the mix - how great is that?! :)

I wash individual leaf and then spin in the salad spinner.

emoticon If it's loose leaf lettuce, I wash each leaf. If it's iceberg lettuce, I usually throw out the top leaves if they don't look good(about three) and just wash the outside. With Romaine lettuce, I usually throw out the top leafs (about two) because that don't look good, and wash each leaf until I get down to the small, tightly packed leaves in the center, which I wash as a group.

I bought a salad spinner and I am SO HAPPY I did! They work great. My local supermarket carries them. I managed to break that one so ordered one from Amazon.
