I love grilling veggies...lots of them, all different types. Zucchini cut into spears, onions, bell pepper, eggplant, summer squash, really any veggie you like. Grill them on the grill and brush with BBQ sauce. Put it all inside a hoagie roll (you can even drizzle more BBQ sauce inside) Have the black beans or chickpeas baked bean sytle on the side. You can even add portabella in there somewhere. Delish!

I fry up some chickpeas in EVOO, sprinkle some nutritional yeast and garlic salt on them, and then put BBQ sauce on top. It's amazing and hits the spot when i'm craving something salty and BBQ'y.

BBQ corn on the cob. no joke. Grill up your corn like normal, and before serving it brush it with bbq sauce and steak seasoning.. Really flipping good.

And bbq sauce is only bad if you use in excessive amounts, or if it has high fructose corn syrup.

Grilled portabella with swiss, onion, lettuce, pickles, and bbq sauce on a bun is the best thing ever.

You can also cut eggplant into disks and grill that and do the same thing as the portabella..or do both!

What about throwing some into a homemade salad dressing? I haven't tried this but it could be good, mixed with some other oil and vinegar.

I also vote for the beans. What about on polenta, if you fry it, grill it or bake it and add bbq sauce?

I LOVE bbq sauce on cooked black beans or chickpeas. It sort of resembles baked beans but doesn't have the pork or bacon to worry about. I season it up with cumin and chili flakes (or whatever I have on hand).

Sometimes I also grill up a bunch of veggies and quinoa or rice and smother everything in bbq sauce. Delicious!

I suggest you cut up some asparagus, peas, sliced onion, and sweet peppers, LIGHTLY coat them with the BBQ sauce & then grill in one of the baskets they sell for veggies. YUM!!

I like the potatoes idea! It's sort of starchy. I guess I'll stop being lazy and try to make lentil burgers at home too.

Try brushing it on squash or potatoes on the barbie.. or put a touch of it in the pan with your stir fry. Most flavors go well with veggies.

I love this thread! I was just thinking the same question today! I received some BBQ sauce as a gift recently, and don't eat beef or pork, and don't cook chicken at home, so am at a loss as to what to do with it, and I do want to use it (for personal reasons). Will watch this for more replies!

What about on tempeh? Oh sorry, that is sort of tofuish. Have you tried Setian?

Hmm...I wonder how portabellas would be with BBQ sauce? Everything in me wants me to make you try my blackbean burgers :) We love them.

This could be good- http://allrecipes.com/recipe/vegetarian-ribs/detail.aspx?event8=1&prop24=SR_Title&e11=barbeque&e8=Quick%20Search&event10=1

I've been trying to think of things that are good with BBQ sauce on them. I try to stay away from food in a box (e.g. Boca) and am not interested in making veggie burgers from scratch. I don't like tofu. Any ideas of what I can put BBQ sauce on would be wonderful!
