sunil banana is a good source of potassium but not of calcium.

Good sources of calcium include romaine lettuce, celery, broccoli, sesame seeds, fennel, cabbage, summer squash, green beans, garlic, tofu, Brussel sprouts, oranges, asparagus and crimini mushrooms. Oregano, rosemary, parsley, kombu, and kelp are also good sources of calcium.

My doctor told me that when food is cooked, it loses some of its nutritional values. That's why in some cultures, they just blanch their foods. They heat it just a little while. The more it is cooked, the more of it's vitamins get lost.

Are there any other fruits apart from oranges that have calcium?

I prefer Silk brand of soy milk. It's flavor is better in my opinion.

I will try the vanilla soy milk and see if that helps. My mother gets 8th continent or something like that. My husband likes the chocolate Silk but I (ok nobody look) don't care for chocolate. Any brand has a richer taste than others?

I like rice milk and almond milk both of which are fortified but the rice milk is so high on calories compared to the almond.

Here is a tip to help with soy milk. I get either vanilla or chocolate soy milk. It's really delicious and the vanilla or chocolate flavor masks the soy flavor and it tastes good. I even enjoy the soy ice cream and yogurt too. That's a neat way to sneak in your calcium. But I'm with you on the collard greens with pepper vinegar. I use the pepper vinegar when I cook cabbage too.

Thanks for the info Will.

For not being from the South I sure do love collard greens with hot pepper vinegar. I also make sure that my tofu is calcium fortified. My OJ has been fortified for years.

If I ever get used to the taste of soymilk I will make sure that it is calcium fortified as well.

I wonder if all of that is why my bones tested so thick?

If you struggle with getting enough calcium (as many Vegans and vegetarians do), here is a nice article that gives some tips to help you do it through foods the natural way, without taking supplements.
