I am a member of the Anytime Fitness up here in Ellensburg but go to the one in Yakima quite a bit since I work in Yakima. I like the fact that they are open 24hrs a day and I can go in at 11:00 pm if I need to. They don't have any classes so you have to like exercising by yourself. The treadmills/ellyticals all have tv screens but the bikes don't. The ladies bathroom isn't always real stocked but then it isn't staffed all the time either. There a number of signs around the place that don't feel very friendly (ie don't wear your outside shoes or you'll be prosecuted to the extent of the Anytime fitness law...if you break something-slide $100 under the door) May be trying to be cute but I find it a little unfriendly.
Overall I love my Anytime Fitness in E'burg-and can use the one in Yak for free so I guess I can't complain too much.

I have heard good things about West Valley Fitness. I have also heard good things about Curves (for ladies, of course) and the gym in Terrace Heights, used to be a Gold's but I am not sure what it is now.

Hi Annabelle,

I also work out on my own. I'm a committed runner and training for a marathon. But, my 20-year-old daughter works out at West Valley Fitness and she likes it a lot. She says it's pretty basic but gets the job done. Any other runners out there? Want to get together for a 6 or 7-mile run next week?

Actually,for me the gym atmosphere works better than working out by myself.I belong to a gym now,but I'd like to change and go somewhere else,that's why I wanted to hear/read people's opinion about those two.

Right now I do all of my working out on my own. I used to go to the Yakima Athletic Club (Now YAC fitness I believe) but I am not a huge fan of the gym atmosphere. Honestly, I felt more like I was in a nudist colony there. I remember once a guy was sitting nude in the locker room reading the paper, I went a did a 2 plus hour workout to come back to him sitting nude in the locker room reading the paper. Maybe it was just that gym, I don't know, it kind of left a bad taste in my mouth:)

Thanks so much for welcoming me,I really appreciate it.
I wanted to ask everybody in the Yakima group if any of you work out at the Anytime Fitness in the Chalet Mall in West Valley or West Valley Fitness.If you do,can you please share your opinion of those two places.
