Hi everyone! Have been super busy with Scentsy and the open house this saturday. Plus, my husband's family came to town this past weekend. It was fun-but we ate out way too much. I did fairly well, I lost a couple more pounds but gained them back...you know, the weekly fluctuation.

we sat in the ledgestone hotel that is next to the mill that caught fire. we watched the whole thing and got tons of pics. Kinda scary but our family wouldn't leave because it was too exciting lol.

Last night we thought a volcano erupted because there was ash falling from the already super cloudy sky. But after doing some research, it was a controlled burn in Naches. But, we did find out that Mt St Helens, Rainier, Baker and Glacier Peak are all rated as the top 10 most dangerous volcanoes. Yikes!!

Hope everyone is doing well with their goals. I'm hopefully getting back on track after being sick and having family in town.

Hi Yakima,
Hope everyone was able to enjoy the beautiful weather we had this weekend (okay the wind was a little strong Sat afternoon).
My oldest son and I worked at Pegasus project (the therapuedic horse ranch Sat morning for my office's community service day project. I got a workout-sweeping the concrete around the indoor arena and scrubbing out stalls. I also ate WAY too much junk-I think it was the worse eating day I've had in the last 13 months.
Today we were busy selling scout popcorn at Safeway after church. Then I ran 7.5 miles before dinner. So it was a busy weekend-of course my house is still a mess. I'm hoping to take a day off work this week and get things caught up at home.
Tomorrow's a New Day-everyone enjoy!

Hey all! I am new to SP and new to Yakima. We've been here for about 6wks now and are coming from FL. My hubs is in the Army and stationed at the training center. I've also been sick so I have been struggling to eat enough calories everyday, not doing too good there. I have PCOS with insulin resistance so most of the time, my goal is to get half as many carbs as SP tells me I need. The hubs and I have been married for 11yrs and have 4 kids, 10, 5, 3, and 1.

I know this isn't the intro thread but I'd say this is chit chat ;)

I was wondering if I was writing too much-everyone has been quiet! I have been super busy, but I think posting here has kept me in check for the most part. I have stayed under my calorie range several times (don't know if that is healthy), but I have been walking my daughter to and from school pushing my baby in the stroller. So, I get some exercise in-which is tough being sick. My in-laws are coming to town this weekend and that means lots of eating out. emoticon Any suggestions on some good places to eat that have healthy options, like a pita pit or something? Plus, it's my bday thursday and I'm going to get the Implanon. I'm scared because they will cut a tiny whole in my arm to insert it but my daughters will be present because my hubby is finally working! Yay for a job! And I have been waiting since June for it.

I'm starting college here shortly-thank goodness for online! And I need to finish my event-planning business. I didn't realize what went in to planning a business. Plus, I have to get my Veteran ID card and try to file for disability. I wish there was tons of time in one day to complete everything so the rest of the days you could just relax.

Hey Team Yakima!?

How are you all doing?! It seems we have all grown quiet again lately - must mean we are all busy!

I LOVE love love Fall - so I have been enjoying the cooler weather... I am hosting my Bunco group next week and can't wait to pull out my Fall decorations and make some fall recipes too!

We are off to a conference in Spokane this weekend - but maybe the following wknd we can have another Team Walk on that Saturday... let me know if any of you would be interested in that!

I completed the C25K Week 5 Day 2 today... even added 2 minutes to the last run interval... on Thursday it is a 20 minute run straight - that will be a challenge for me - but I am determined to do it! I will keep you posted! I still need to register for the 5K in October - but I am definitely planning on doing it... anyone else signing up!?

OK - I am getting ready to watch Biggest Loser... have a great night!

~K~

Looking at colleges currently to get my degree in Business Management, then Human Resources. Should be a good one since that is what I did in the military. Anyone know of a good college that I can do my whole degree online?

I do Scentsy, I used to do Slumber Parties (if you are interested in purchasing product I am getting rid of my stock so it's kind of limited now), I work with my mom-she owns a catering & espresso business. We have a mobile espresso machine so wherever there's events-we drive to sell espresso! It's awesome! And my last one I am working on is a store where I sell all my arts/crafts that I [will] do and things I'm trying to get rid of at my home. Oh and can't forget my event planning business! I am almost finished with that, just got to print business cards and brochures and start planning people's events! My husband thinks I am doing too much but I don't lol.

My husband was at a seasonal job and now he's looking for something else. Seems like it's only seasonal jobs around here though unless you have college.

Lynessa,

Sorry you missed out on all your Saturday plans... so what are your businessES? I know you mentioned Scentsy... what else are you doing!? I love Scentsy - went to the warehouse in Boise and bought my burner and several blocks... right before you joined I contacted another local gal that sells it to place a small order for my Bunko group - but when I am ready to order for myself I will let ya know! What are your favorite scents?

Good luck with the added events! Is your hubby not working now, or just looking for something ELSE? (My hubby is on the hunt as well - but he is still at his current job.) Girl Scouts... that is one thing we didn't do... just try to avoid those darn Girl Scout Cookies... they are evil! LOL!

Have a great Sunday everyone... watching tennis and trying to get ready for church...

Sorry I didn't make the walk girls. I didn't even make it to the fashion show! Ah well, because the clothes that I was getting a discount on were ones that fit now and I am tired of buying clothes at this size. Other than that, it's been a busy week helping my husband find jobs, creating resumes/cover letters, and working on my businesses PLUS taking care of the family. On top of all that I am planning more events to attend and enrolling my daughter in Girl Scouts. Yikes! Hey - at least it will keep me from eating tons...I hope.

Thanks for the Walk this morning girls... it was a perfect day for an early morning walk - sunny but not hot yet! I love these late summer/early fall mornings!

I had to make myself NOT run on the treadmill when I got home. Today IS a C25K day - but with the pain in my lower calf this past week and taking the day completely off yesterday, the walk felt good but I was afraid pushing it more would re-irritate the calf. It turns out maybe when they say 3x's per week - they really don't mean 'every other day'? LOL?! I knew I was pushing it - but wanted to get closer to being done by the time the 5K is here in Oct. I think I will try to pay attention to my body more - take an extra day here or there if I need it - and probably set the treadmill speed a little slower too!? To me, a 4.5 or a 5 is not unreasonable - but maybe I should try to work my way up to that a little slower?! We'll see! As of now - my plan is to take the weekend off from running!

I am also planning on getting back to the once a week weigh in! I have been stuck at the same weight since May - so I sort of fell out of that habit, but I think it is necessary and I am sure it is time to re-measure as well! Next week... after my TOM!

So - Dave is out at Costco with my Mom... hope he comes home with 'smart choices'! LOL! I need to get ready for a fun little get together with friends this afternoon and dd is waking up with one of her friends downstairs!

Still suffering from Rain Delay with the US Open too!?

Enjoy your Saturday!

I plan to be at the park tomorrow! Lynnessa and Karri, you both sound crazy busy! I know how you feel - I picked blackberries in Packwood this week and picked two gallons of huckleberries yesterday. Got it all frozen, jams made, a couple of pies, (which I did not eat). Made oatmeal-huckleberry muffins for breakfast this morning - spread a little huckleberry jam on them. Oh, my. Feel like I wish life would slow down, even as I make plans that keep me busier than ever!

Whew... I had a workout this morning! I went for a walk with my sis - but she has the cutest little dog now - so it was not exactly a cardio workout... still - it was over an hour and a half... but I came home and did Week 3 Day 2 in the Couch to 5K program... and now I am cooling down a bit before I move on to my strength training for the day! Then - a shower is calling my name! LOL! I am loving the cooler sunny day today and I am hoping to get a little reading on the porch in before I need to pick up the kiddo! I am reading The Ragamuffin Gospel... it's a library book and due back on Saturday - so I am motivated to get it done - although I would rather savor it a little slower... I have a stack of books waiting for me too - but they are more 'research' books - nothing fun to read really!

I hope you are all finding a good Fall routine that will help you to meet your goals! Hope to see some of you on Saturday at the Park!

Ugh man I did horrible the other night. I ate and ate even after I was full. Today I did so much better. I had a slimfast for breakfast and lunch and even though my dinner was a TGI Fridays skillet meal, I still managed to stay under my calories. But it's almost 3 AM and I'm starving!! I had a granola bar but it didn't seem to hold me over. I have my fashion show fitting tomorrow. I signed up for the Fashion Bug fashion show this Saturday. Figured it'd be a good confidence booster, and fun at the same time. Guess we will see. Was pretty busy today handing out brochures and business cards for the catering business. I even set up our shelf at the Crafter's Boutique with our homemade spices and mixed beverages. I hope it makes us some money at least. Otherwise, making all those seems like a waste of time. Getting ready for my Scentsy Open House on Oct 3rd. Everyone is invited and definitely more than welcome to invite friends.

I am being strong! I had a half of one total today. I went out for lunch, and when I do that, I skip dinner, so I should be OK. It's a bummer to get my calories in so early in the day, but it always pays off.

Good for you for learning to can. I've always wanted to. I even bought canning equipment (just the basic stuff, not the pressure-cooker style), but haven't done any canning yet. Maybe soon!

Thank you. My family and I used to go berry & asparagus picking when I was younger-I should keep the tradition going with my family. My mom is teaching me how to can foods-I hope I can stick to it; especially making my own baby food. My husband loves cinnamon rolls too-luckily I don't so that saves me. I know you can do it-just be strong!

Hi Lynnessa and welcome to the team. Sounds like you're a perfect match here! And it sounds like you all had a wonderful last couple of days. I spent a couple soggy days in the mountain, but picked a ton of huckleberries (worth a fortune at $6 or more a pound at fruit stands). Making pie and jam tomorrow. Got cinnamon roll dough in the oven now (I will not eat one, I will not eat one, I will not eat one, I will not eat one...) for my husband and his guest, a popular singer/evangelist recording his next CD.

We doing lunch, walking, anything this week?

I am so glad I joined this team!! I am actually a Scentsy Rep. I am trying to get my business out there because I haven't been very successful the last few months. I am having an Open House October 3rd, 4-6pm. Or, if you want to book your own party or just order-you can check out my website at www.scentsy.com/lynnessa.

I'm having a lazy day today-haven't made it out of my pj's yet and it's 2:19. Busy weekend with the Ellensburg Fair, Rodeo and Parade. Didn't care much for the soggy weather. Two of my boys were dressed in old time newspaper outfits handing out papers for the Daily record to celebrate their 100 yrs in business. They were just the cutest part of the parade I thought.
Yesterday we spent the day at the fair; 1st making beef sandwiches for our church booth and then doing the sights. My 5 yr old daughter was in the Pee Wee rodeo and won 1st place for Bull Riding!!!! (She went by and winked at the judges on her little ride which I think kind of stole their hearts) It was fun and she came home with a big trophy.
It will be a busy week-we start school on Wednesday for the boys and it's also my oldest son's 14th birthday. The movie he wants to see isn't playing up here so we will have to head to Yakima after football practice. Then my daughter starts school on Thursday. I also have a busy tax deadline at work on 9/15 so I'm having to figure that out as well.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hey all...

Hope you are all having a great long holiday weekend! We were planning a hike yesterday - but due to the weather - ended up having a lazy day in town... a matinee (Julie & Julia - so good - but it will make you want to cook UNSparkified foods! LOL!), hours at Borders, a walk on the Greenway...

Anyway - I have a question - I am looking for a local Yakima Scentsy rep?! I LOVE this company and bought a few things when in Boise at their warehouse and have a small order... but I'd rather order from a local rep...

Also - if anyone is interested, I am hosting a Stampin' Up! party in a couple of weeks - they sell rubber stamps and scrapbook stuff, as well as some home decor and fun stuff...

Anyway - I did Week Two, Day Three of the Couch to 5K Program this morning before church... felt great to get it done before the rest of the day unfolded! Tomorrow is an off day - but Tuesday begins the phase of the training that I knew ahead of time would challenge me... the first two weeks were pretty easy... now comes the fun part!

How are you all doing!?

Haven't been on Spark for over a week. Where does the time fly? Need to catch up on all my posting. Been exercising, eating right, and drinking plenty of water so don't feel too bad about being behind on my posting. Hope to get caught up today when I take breaks from canning tomatoes and peaches.

Took the Ozette hike last weekend. The beach section was rough - now I know that we need to hike it during a negative tide - not just at low tide.

OK Team?! Are you guys still out there?! Is anyone still Sparking with me?! LOL?! It's been awfully quiet around here lately! Then again - it IS back to school time and I know everyone is adjusting to Fall schedules again! I love it... but I tend to have a vacation that lasts a week or two longer than my kiddo! It takes me a few weeks to remember that I actually DO stuff when she is gone!

I am planning on signing up for the 5K in October (read the thread about it for more info!) and I started the Couch to 5K program last week! I have done a VERY little bit of running in the past 6 months or so - mostly none over the summer though! So - this program is great for me... I am only on Week Two - did Day 1 today... am pleasantly surprised to find that it is not too challenging at this point! However, I know even next week will start to push me out of my comfort zone!

Anyway - after that, I spent some time at North Town working on some writing. It's funny - I have in mind what I want it to look like and the message - but I don't have the words per say... I anticipated writing more text but found myself actually mapping out the story page by page. Never would have thought of doing it that way - so hopefully it was inspired! LOL!

I am seriously craving a Steak Salad from 2nd St Grill... a nice afternoon, sitting outdoors before it's too cold. I'm pretty sure they are busy during the lunch hour - plus they cost a tad bit more than a fast food joint, so it may not work for a Team Lunch - but I know I will find myself there soon anyway... if you're interested, let me know! LOL!

How are you all doing?! What's new with you and what is on your plate for this Fall?!

Speak up and Spark On!
