I have all of my pre-baby clothes and I have a few comfy clothes. I will not throw away the skinny ones because they are my motivation to lose the baby weight and get back into them. I have struggled with eating sweets since I got pregnant and It's hard but I'm doing better as of last week so one day I will get back into those clothes. I bought most of them the 4 months prior to my pregnancy and refuse to let them go!

I think there's definitely a difference between pre-baby clothes and clothes that we've had hanging in there for 10 years because we fit into them in college. I do have a few pairs of "skinny" pants that are within reach, but I'm wondering if they're even in style at this point!

That said... I think it's time to do a major evaluation of my closet. A good friend has an amazing sense of style, and we're planning to do a huge shopping trip once I'm at my goal weight. (Hopefully this spring... 6 lbs to go!!)

I actually read the book probably 4 years ago or so and I purged all my skinny clothes because of it. Interesting that probably a year later is when I started losing all my weight, and got rid of all the fat clothes (which I now would be wearing). Now I'm fat again, but I'm keeping all my skinny clothes since I feel it still falls in the baby weight catagory and I'm now actively losing (maybe not this week, but I'm on the right path)

I lost 30 pounds on SPARK before...and now I'm back to lose the baby weight!

My progress the last month or so has slowed but I am still losing! However, I have looked at some of my other old clothes and have considered throwing them out because they're quite outdated. We'll see what happens when I get that size again - I might find I still like them.

Now...with the "fat" clothes...When I got to my goal weight before, I just took them to a seamstress to have them taken in. I might do that with some of the new "fat" clothes I have collected as I've lost weight because I like them!

Take Care,
Kathy

I do have skinny clothes - but I was at that weight before I tried getting pregnant and will be there again soon so I don't plan on tossing them because they are not that old. Most of them are work (office) clothes too and I need those!! I am just getting down into some of my 8's... 6's are right around the corner!!

Take Care,
Kathy

Okay, let's be honest...do you guys keep clothes that don't fit anymore in the hopes of fitting in them again some day? I'll admit it...I do. I'm reading "Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui" by Karen Kingston and what she says about clothes that don't fit finally has me convinced to get rid of my old "skinny" clothes. Here's the quote:

"Some people hang on to clothes that are too small for them because they are planning to lose weight so that they can wear them again. It rarely happens this way. If this is you, do yourself a favor...throw all these clothes away, and go out and buy yourself something that makes you feel really good exactly as you are now. And guess what usually happens? You lose weight! The reason is that you have stopped resisting being fat. You have decided to love yourself exactly as you are instead of waiting until you lose weight. What you resist persists, and when you stop resisting, it stops persisting!"

Here's a link to the book on Amazon if you want to check it out: tinyurl.com/4fh7rb3
