Yay! I'm so glad we helped! I think one of the hardest things for new moms is that they don't realize that they're not alone! EVERY mom goes through the same thing (okay, except for those skinny little moms that look like they were never pg in the 1st place but let's not talk about them) but for some reason we all think that we should be able to lose the weight overnight, even though we don't expect that of everyone else! Why in the world are us moms so darn hard on ourselves!?! My goodness, like it's not enough to bring another human being into the world! What in the world do we have to do to get a break!?! LOL!

Oh, and thank you NERDY_MOM, for the validation! That made me feel good! Warm fuzzies right back at 'cha!

Thanks ladies! Seriously, this helped! I came out of my pregnancy at 257 and am at 231 now... so I hope that by doing the spark diet, walking with the baby for this last month of maternity leave more and using my elliptical I can lose more. Its just hard when I want to go out and wear my regular clothes, its weird still wearing maternity clothes but its only been 6 weeks so maybe I should give myself a break! Thanks again!

I can't wait to see the old new me!

MJA716 is TOTALLY RIGHT!!

I had my baby on January 21st - weighed about 220 coming out of the hospital, and am only down to 183ish... I wanted to be back to my 145 pre pre pregnancy weight.. but no. = ( It takes a while. but it's worth it to do it the healthy way! I promise!

I know, it's so hard, isn't it!?! And just like Jeni said, this isn't going to be what you want to hear but...some people think women's bodies hold on to their "baby fat" after they have a baby to nourish the baby in case of famine, etc.

I know it's hard but your best bet is to try not to think about the negative (i.e., feeling like you're never going to lose weight, being unhappy with your body) and focus your thoughts on the positive (being proud of yourself for making healthy food choices for you and your baby, working out whenever you can and loving on that beautiful new baby of yours!!). That will keep you in the right frame of mind for losing weight because, believe me, if I've learned ANYTHING about losing weight, it's that stress causes you to hold on to your extra weight more than anything (thanks to The Biggest Loser's Bob & Jillian for that little piece of info).

So, hang in there, be strong and come here for support whenever you need it because we know exactly what you're going through!

Honestly....a lot longer than four weeks. I know that isn't what you wanted to hear, but it's the truth. It took 9 months to gain it....

These celebrities you see on TV who lose all their weight in 6 weeks do not portray an accurate picture of reality. They work out for 6 hours a day, have healthy meals prepared by a chef (if they eat at all) and have a nanny to take care of their baby while they get a full night's sleep. They make it their job to lose weight and regain their previous shape, while the rest of us embrace being a mom as our full time job.

I'm sorry you're feeling depressed about the weight. We have all been there.

I admit I am pretty impatient about losing my baby fat weight but I tried on all my cute dresses for going out today and it made me almost cry because i couldnt get them on and if I could get them on, I couldnt get them off. Its to the point where I almost feel depressed. Its been a month since I delivered and I didnt work out until just this week but I dont know, does anyone know how long it takes for results??? ARGH!

I can't wait to see the old new me!
