Been a while since I've posted on here, but I am interested if any get-togethers get planned. The only problem I have is transportation - not allowed to drive per doctor - due to medication I need and its side effects. I live in Montgomeryville ( about half way between Lansdale & Horsham), so anyone would be able to give ride, I'd like to attend. Now retired, so any day ( except Fridays. before noon, and Sundays before 2:00) is available on my schedules ( as long as a doctor's appt, etc is not already scheduled).
Hello, Irishgirl - it's been quite a while, but we did meet at a restaurant a few years ago.
Better quit for now,

Hi Vicki! Congrats on your new leadership role. I'm new, became a Sparker on Apr 21st.. I live in Boyertown just over the border into Mont. County. I recently retired from a job in King of Prussia having commuted many years. Would love a get together, especially walking related. Valley Forge Park sounds great!

A Valley Forge walk works for me - I love it there. Consider the Spring Valley Y! - Much bigger and more equipment - plus I'm there LOL - (so was the Phillie Phanatic last night!) Looking forward to warmer weather!

Hi Melita! Yep, we're right down the road from each other. I have made contact with a few Sparkers who are from our area, and I'd like to maybe organize a picnic/walk at Valley Forge when the weather starts to get a little nicer. Right now my workouts are limited to things I can do indoors like my Wii Fit and Wii Zumba, but I'm planning on getting out my walking shoes in the next few weeks. I'm also hoping to join the Audubon Y.
I'll keep everyone posted!

Hi WVictoria, I live in Royersford, I work out at the Spring Valley Y and enjoy walking at the nearby trails in warmer weather. I'm a big time Phillie fan and go to games as often as possible. I have been on Sparks for about 5 years - we have a yo-yo relationship. I tell myself that at least I have not put on more weight than I have lost but truth be told that is a cop out - I could really stand to loose about 40 pounds! Glad Montgomery County has a new leader - good luck to you! Let me know if you are interested in a walking partner - I think we are fairly close to each other.

Wow Ruth, you are an inspiration! I am on the other side of the county in Eagleville-near Collegeville. We have great trails around here, but my boyfriend isn't quite ready to join me yet, and I'm a little nervous about just setting out on my own. So far my "activity" has been limited to the new Wii Fit I got for Christmas and various Spark People video workouts. It's such a beautiful day today. It would be a perfect day for a walk.
Irish, I drive near Malvern every day on my way to and from work. Where do you work? Maybe we could meet someday for coffee?
Congrats on being the leader. You will do great. I use to work in Ardmore, but I want to be part of the team still :) I live in Chester County and work in Philly for my full time job and in Malvern for my part time job. Welcome and good luck!
My name is Ruth and I live in Eastern Montgomery county, near Abington, Lower and Upper Morelands, Hatboro and Horsham towenships.
I have been walking the Pennypack trails since time immemorial. I also do the Willow Grove Mall, Avelthorpe, Mondaulk, the Horsham parks which are all convenient to me.
This past year my gym, Bally's in Willow Grove shut down, I joined the Y in Hatboro, but now my Silver Sneakers program has been revoked by my health care provider. I need a new gym, a new workout and walk-out buddy. Is there one nearby? I love to ski, kyack (not real rough white water) ride my bike (I bike but am not a cyclyist) and would be willing to learn inline skating. I am usually "Up" for new adventures, but I know I will never jump out of a plane and parachute to the ground. Getting a little air under my skis is hot stuff for this

Hello Montgomery County Sparkers! I've just been added as a leader for this team. This is my first team leader position, so please bear with me, and give me lots of feedback. Please visit my Spark Page, and send me a friend request. I'd love to get to know all of you better.
It looks like in the past this team did some group events. Are any of you interested in getting together outside of cyberland? If so, let me know, and I'll see what we can do.
It will take me a few days to figure out how to navigate the page from a leader perspective, but I hope to grow this group. To do that, I need your input. Please post on the "What Can the Montgomery County Spark Team Do For You" forum.
