I can relate to the diversity thing. I live in a town of 400 and it is about as white bread as it gets. I grew up in Urbana, IL where the University of Illinois is and was fortunate to be around a wide variety of people. My cousins live in AZ so basically it is Facebook and email for them. I do domestic violence work snd we have had some Mexican clients who primarily spoke Spanish so we had an interpretor for them who told me several times we didn't need him but really I wasn't comfortable with the whole translating thing. I wish I was because he gets paid $60 an hour!
Interesante...I'm using a different computer now and they show up fine? Not sure why. Weird!
I know! The SP app helps me so much for staying on track! Your grammar and spelling are actually really great! After 20 years, that's something to be really proud of! I wish I had family to practice with! I live in an area where I never get to practice speaking because there is so little diversity of every kind. I've lived here nearly 4 years and I've only heard Spanish spoken about 5 times the entire time I've been here! Boring!
¡Muchas gracias mi amiga! On my phone your stuff shows up like it should-which is pretty much how I see anything on Sparkpeople. Thank goodness for the ap! I tried to hold the key down on my phone but it didn't work. Outside of my cousins I probably wouldn't ever use it anyway and since they are 1/2 Mexican I would be too humiliated for them to see my horrible grammar and spelling! :) Hope you have a great day!
Aunque no has estudiado espanol por muchos anos, puedes escribir magnificamente! :) On my phone I have to press and hold the button and then it comes up with a menu with different ways of accenting that letter. Dunno if that's the same for yours or not, but it's worth a shot! I decided to forgo the accents and tildes on here because apparently they don't show up in sparkpeople? They're all little question marks? Weird.
Addy. Pues, hace 20 anos pero recuerdo un poquito. Puedo intender mas que puedo hablar. ¡Que tengas mucha suerte con sus clases! Oh and I can't seem to figure out how to do accents or tildas on this phone!
I've finished 3 pages so far today and it's my goal before going to bed to finish the last 2 pages for that paper! Then only 5 to go!
Angie-This is actually easy in comparison to last semester! I think overall I wrote 32 pages last semester for one Spanish class! It was really intense. I got a LOT out of it, though, and actually am basing this independent study I'm working on on a topic we briefly covered in the class last semester. Kind of a continuation I guess. !Estoy emocionada que tenías una especialización secundaria en español! Me encanta la lengua pero no puedo esperar el día en que estoy terminado con las clases, haha. Recuerdes mucho español?
Wow Addy! Spanish was my minor and I never had to write a 15 page paper! Good luck! My day has been ok. I haven't eaten too badly but I have no energy and am lucky I got on the stationary bike for even the 20 minutes I did because I am exahuated. Hope everyone has a great afternoon! Angie
It's been a good day so far today...had class, got my workout done, now I'm waiting for my boyfriend to finish class so we can walk home together :) I'm feeling pretty productive today, so hopefully I can finish a full 5-page paper yet today! I have 3 5-page papers due next Monday for an Independent Study for Spanish that I'm taking. So, 15 pages, written in Spanish, on censorship during the time of Franco in Spain. Yikes. I finished one of the papers yesterday, and hopefully can finish another today! Wish me luck!
