This started as a challenge to exercise every day.....

Yesterday I had to go to a meeting in Seattle....we left the house at 5:30 AM and got home at 7:30 and were in bed by 9PM so there wasn't time for much exercise but since we took the ferry both ways, I went upstairs and walked around for twenty minutes going each way, took walk during the lunch break at the meeting and managed to get 10,000 steps before I went to bed

Rosalyn,
One of my inspirational quotes is "Most reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want MOST for what they want at the MOMENT"

Maybe thinking about your long term weight loss goal and how great you look and feel at a healthy weight will help you avoid that donut.......also drink a lot of water

Barbiecat, I really LIKE that resolve about the computer. I tend to forget the time when I'm here, then can't get all the exercise in that I need. I'll need to set an alarm, though.

About eating healthy: DH is bed-bound and cannot drive to McDonalds or the deli or the carry out at the grocery stores. His blood sugar was all over the place at the hospital and in the rehab, so they sent him home with insulin for when his sugar went over 200 (bad for surgery). Funny thing is that eating what I give him, his sugar is high (125-195) but never over. Amazing isn't it?

Now for a HOT shower. There is nothing like hot water running over my body to make me feel better.

Since I am now caretaking my poor, injured husband, I am up and down the stairs about 500 times a day. (Usually it's only 200 times.) All movement is exercise if done consciously.

You know, having him in the rehab for 3 eternal days was an eye opener. Most of the people in there are truly (and permanently) infirm. It makes me want to walk quickly with my back straight, use it while I can. Live long enough, and I will be in there with the rest of them. Nothing like a trip to a nursing home/rehab facility to enforce gratitude, and there is nothing like gratitude to use the gifts you have. Like mobility. Don't take it for granted.

Hi Gals
Definately.
What I do is exercise in between customers as I cashier at work.
Infact I get teased about doing it by the customers and staff about getting my exercise in while I get paid for it, LOL,
So I get in about 1 to 2 hours a day that way, Rosalyn

Rosalyn Larson I am so happy to be on Maintenance.
It took 2 years but it was worth it. I am going to keep it in a 5#s range up or down. My Promise is I will never ever do that to myself again-----Rosalyn

I always start each new year off well...drinking, eating healthy choices and exercise. (Today I'm deep cleaning some closets, so I count that as exercise). Now, if only I can keep up the momentum.

My name is Jeanne (pronounced Jean ee); I live in eastern Washington State.

Happy New 2011. I challenge every one of you to get at least 10 minutes of exercise today. Opening the fridge and changing the remote does not count! I am starting this new Year with determination to succeed but I need you all as support!

God Bless you all and remember laughter is the best medicine!! emoticon Drink lots of water! emoticon
