just took daughter and friends to Ohayocon 2013. I missed out on most of it due to school work but they looked amazing and had a blast. I hope when I take them to Matsuricon in August I am ready for it. Such a fun way to bond with my daughter. See my page for a pic of them!

i guess you would say it is a medium convention held in one major hotel.it is a 3 day con there are your normal voice actors and musical guest. there is a massive rave and a artist ally. you have your normal panels and of course cosplayers a muck. YouTube has lots of videos. one of them is called ask a anime character where we got to ask a anime character ( of course the voice actor is off stage ) it was a really good panel.

Matsuricon is in central Ohio - this year will be August 24 - 26. Ohayocon is in central Ohio - it is usually the second half of January.
I usually go in street clothes to take my daughter and friends. This summer they have convinced me to dress as a character however we are at odds as to whom it should be. They are looking at me and and the characters trying to figure out who I look like the most. I think it should be someone I connect with or at least a story line I like. Now I am on the scramble to find something I like. Wish me luck!

I'm going to the same con I've been going to for years, Anime Expo!
I usually run into some on my high school buddies and I really want to surprise them by looking thinner. I think I can lose 10 to 15 pounds before July. Even if I can't I'm still going to have a blast.

Where is SteamCon held? As for upcoming conventions that I am attending it looks like Otakon 12 is the only one planned for now. I missed Katsucon 12 but It is not as big a con as Otakon. My daughter wants to go this real huge con that is held in California. I can't think of the name of it now but I have heard it is the largest con in the U.S.

Well, I certainly didn't get to 210 by AUSA. My next convention is Otakon 2012. I will be at 175 lbs by then is it suits me. I want to be a muscular fit rather than flat like most naturally skinny men.

I went to Youmacon this year, but I went solo because my friend from MO couldn't make it and my mom had to work But I am working hard to lose a lot of weight for Youmacon '12! It's the only local convention I can go to now since my mom is a travel nurse and it really depends on where she goes and if she'll be able to attend any conventions in the area ^_^;

Yeah, I took 71 pictures this year and two people too my pic (although, I have to admit, both were not because I looked like my cosplay). The first time was when I was in my FMA military uniform and I was wearing one of those Super Saiyan "crowns" and someone thought it was interesting, so I got a pick there. Later, when I had changed out of my uniform top for a black T-shirt, and donned my fedora, someone thought I was Batman (don't ask me, I can't figure it out, I was in the convention center though).

Otakon 12 is probably a certainty. Maybe Katsucon in February 2012. It is hard to believe that Otakon 11 has come and went. I have to say it was a great time. My costume embellishments and enhancements definately were a hit. More people requested my photo this year than last year.

I'm not sure Thurs. will work. Chempharm and I are both working stiffs in our other lives, he's in DC and I'm in College Park. We went last year to pick up our entries on Thursday so we could breeze in on Friday morning and if you were there you may recall that they didn't open up the doors until almost 9 as opposed to 8 - which defeated the whole purpose of getting them the night b4. Based on that we haven't decided whether we're even going in on Thurs.
However, we are staying at a nearby hotel and so I think we'll be able to meet at some point.
The list of panels/workshops is out, though it wasn't scheduled the last time I checked.
I know we want to see BAD ANIME BAD, (and if you haven't seen it yet, you definitely should) so maybe we can meet outside the assigned room afterward.

I would think Thursday would be a good day to meet up. That way we're no bombarded with people but we can still say we're at the con. As long as it's not on Sunday, ridiculously late or during the Gaia panel, I can do pretty much anything. I'm planning on going to the Matsuri festival beforehand. I hope they anticipate the number of people interested in going to the festival.

Fanime, Cherry blossom festival in SF, Nikkei Matsuri in San jose, Obon, Aki matsuri, spirit of Japantown, Winchester Mystery House Halloween gathering and other random cosplay gatherings. Well I'll be going as Misa from Kaichou wa maid sama and Rachel from Blazblue. I made the jackets for two of the male characters in Kaichou wa maid sama and a Ragna and Noel costume for two other people for Blazeblue. I'm still not confidant in my pics but may post a couple. I started out over 300lbs and am down 98lbs from my highest weight.

Going to Otakon. Cosplaying for the first time with a steam punk inspired costume. No specific character though but am happy that the costume is almost complete. I need to lose about 4 more pounds and firm up a bit and I'll give the look justice.

I'm hoping to conduct a panel at Otakon about traveling to Japan as a family. I definitely learned a lot putting our trip together.
I'm cosplaying this year for the first time. I plan on going as my own character Lady Black (imaginative name, huh) If you get there look for me in my black tiered ruffled dress and black corset - I'll really stand out, won't I?
I'm working on my arms and waist to get them to look SUPER by August.

Comic Con, I've been going since 2005 but have never cosplayed due to my weight,plus its hard finding good black anime characters and I don't watch bleach much so Yoruichi is kinda out of the question.

Youmacon!!! It's the only convention I've been to due to lack of a vehicle, time, and money but I'm sure I'll be expanding to others sooner or later :]

I thought it would be fun if we all could increase the number of cons we attend this year by one. I found a website that lists all of the cons in the USA: www.animecons.com/events/ I am definitely attending Animazement and a gamer con named MAGFest this year. Any new ones?

Only anime convention I can go to due to transportation and money is Anime Central (ACen). I'd love to go to Youmacon since that's also nearby, but I don't have the means to get there nor the money to go to two anime cons in one year.

Misshollydae, I was Tsunade this year at Animazement. I had so much fun playing her and hit all the Naruto's over the head!!! I did her when I weighed 205lbs. I really don't have the cleavage for her, but I did have the hair for it. Good luck to you I hope that you get your wish.

As of yet I have not been to a convention. And I am sad. I am planning to go to the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention in April '09 and hope to be fit enough to pull off Tsunade by then. Not a revealing outfit, except for some cleavage, and you've even got a coat to cover you. So if I'm not super close to my goal that costume will still look good I think. I want to do her justice which is why I refuse to do it until I lose a significant amount of weight. That's what's kept me from most cosplay in general, the few characters that I could pull off at my size I don't want to. Lol.

So I'm getting ready for Connecticon, and I'd love to go to Otakon, which is the weekend after. I was wondering if anyone had any cosplay ideas that are quick to do but still show some skin. I don't have any time to work on anything complicated because I'm busy with Connecticon costumes.

I'm done with conventions for 08, but next year 2009 I plan on going to Anime Central & Anime Iowa. I'm also gunning for Yaoi-con, but I'm probably getting my hopes up for that one. XD

But I am working hard to lose a lot of weight for Youmacon '12! It's the only local convention I can go to now since my mom is a travel nurse and it really depends on where she goes and if she'll be able to attend any conventions in the area ^_^;
