Thank you for support every one. I am feel and doing better. The net outcome after my argument has been positive. Both of us had a lot of thins pent up inside for a long time and finally it all boiled over. As for not eating, I have been eating quite a bit this last week, not keeping track or logging it. I am working now working on finding a happy medium.

Hang in there Ayla,

You should try to eat about every 4 hours so your metabolism doesn't slow down to the point of holding onto the calories when you do eat. I know it's hard when you don't have an appetite. Is this how you lost the 15 pounds over the past month?

I had a couple of days that were mentally difficult for me. I had an argument that created a lot of turmoil for someone I loved, but had the consequence in that we both feel better now. I ate poorly yesterday and the day before and didn't log what I ate. I didn't eat very much at all (three pieces of toast with brown sugar and walnuts). That's all I ate yesterday. Is that terrible? I feel guilty, so I am starting over today. Here it is 7:30 pm and I'm not hungry, but I haven't eaten yet today. That seems to be my pattern lately. This last month, I have lost close to fifteen pounds. I have terrible eating habits: it's either all or nothing. I am just going to to have to sit down in the morning and eat.

I'm feeling a little better today. I have to remember that I just had my synthroid adjusted (increased from 0.175 to 0.2mg per day) and I am getting used to it. It is taking a lttle time. But I am certainly glad to have some energy back. I don't feel like a stick in the mud anu more. And I keep losing weight. Yeah!

Ayla great job on the 6 pounds just on diet alone. That means you have the potential to really accelerate your progress just with increasing your activity even if just by little by little. I agree with aiming for 5-10 minutes a few times a day. Or if you are watching TV, commit do doing something like squats during every commercial, then on the next commercial side leg lifts, then on the next commercial back leg lifts. That can add up to a lot of different effective exercises in the span of even a 30 minute show. :)

Hi Alamay.
I know what you mean about being too tired to exercise. I am wearing a pedometer and just trying to add extra steps. I take the steps when I change floors or go to lunch. I park further away and walk the long way to get to my floor. It doesn't matter if you exercise for 5 to 10 minutes a few times a day, or do it all at once. It also doesn't have to be some "formal" exercise such as a class. It matters that you are moving your body enough to increase your heart rate and burn off some fat. For me personally, I love a walk by myself. It clears my head and gives me peace. You sound like you are doing well on the diet part so I know you will find a way to get the body moving. Believe in yourself! You can do this!.

Hello all,
So I have been doing this a week and I have lost six pounds on diet alone. My problem is that I am having a super-duper hard time getting motivated to exercise at all. If anybody has any ideas about how to get moving, please, fill me in. I want to do it, and I try to do it, I just don't get it done. Part of the problem is that my thyroid was low, and I'm just now adjusting to a new dosage. But I don't think that should be too much of an excuse. I want to get moving and get healthy. So please, any ideas on how to get moving would be greatly appreciated.

always good to try something new!! it sure doesn't hurt :) I find meal planning is the biggest help, and putting it together the night before. I even have to put myself a sticky on the door to make sure i take it as i race out the door... my cereal is even in a bowl on my counter (cats better not make a mess lol). Its hard packing for three meals a day, i find it much easier now that i'm working 8 hr shifts. good luck on your buddy shift, have fun!!

So I've been off work for 2 weeks. Thus the success I've had for the last 2 weeks. I really hope I can keep going. Its soo hard when you work 12 hr. shifts. Anywho, I went in to work today to shadow in our surgery department to see if its anything I'm interested in. I think I'm going to give it a try. Why not...I already do med/surg, ED, and surgery center why not add surgery.

Cold here 30's going 2 apple orchord today and look 4 a kicking new outfit 2 go with my new teal boots. Just have 2 be comfortable enough 2 play the drums in next weekend:) its been a while. Just got over a week of shoulder pain so can start getting active again. Things hurt 4 no reason must be getting old. LOL I c pilates in my future need 2 get more limber. Have a good weekend!

Cold here in MN 30's in the am and 60's in the pm. Not alot of people that come on this sight either. Maybe im the one thats chasing people away LOL any way starting strength a couple days a week 2 tighten up my saggy grandma thighs and under arm flaps. It doesn't look like alot of people on this site like the one I have been currently on for the last 5 years. I think I need more support that I currently feel I'm totally getting. Anything extra is helpful especially with holidays comin. So I think it would be easy 4 me to check in on both sites if it is ok with everyone here I really miss the challenges. When I 1st started here there were about 20 people in my group there currently is 3 including me. I am at my goal weight I lost 40#'s using Sparks. I have been a nurse for about 24 years between my husband and I we have 5 children all grown up and out of the house so less stress there(as I am a stress eater) we have 4 grandkids with 1 on the way Im not thrilled about yhst one though as my son and his gf neither are very respondible and my son has cognitive disorder and can barely tske care of himself so more stress there. My husband and I are renewing our vows in Jan so its important that I maintain my weight as I have already bought tbe dress. So I would really like to be part of an active supportive group. Thanks Char

Where are all the nurses? We need all the support we can get--especially from each other. Just finished 2 12 hour night shifts and am looking forward to exercising and getting back on track--it is so hard to fit in exercise when you have to work back to back 12 hour night shifts--I am sure you may know the feeling. Keep on trying each day to be a healthier and happier person.

Just checking in: I'm scared to death. I've been having trouble finishing my work. The last day I worked I had 3 incidents happen within 5-15 mins. of each other. There is the incident report , updating the care plan , contacting the family or resp. party, faxing the doctor. writing the treatment order & transcribing it in the TAR,all of this of course x's three.Then document in the EMAR, which is new to me. Then I began my routine work for the other 27 patients. I thought I did well then when I got home I began to remember things I forgot to do .My supervisor's management style is to put out long flowery emails , even in Monthly nurses mtgs she will go over info, will not allow questions then pass around a sign in sheet that is later used as a tool for her to write us up if a mistake is made. I wish there were better places to work unfortunately the idea of starting all over, selling myself @ a job interview has me in a tailspin. Thanx for letting me vent. Today's my Mon. I go to face my madness. emoticon emoticon
