I started Turbo Jam in 2009 on and off. In 2010 I joined Spark People for the first time and combining the two programs helped me stay on track and I lost the weight I was trying to very quickly. I have since moved and changed jobs a number of times as well as graduated college. I'm now a Registered Nurse working night shift and found within the past two years I had lost time, energy, and motivation to work out. My weight began to climb and I got back up to my heaviest. I began working out with Turbo Jam again and just recently re signed into Spark People. I finally bought a scale this week so I can REALLY track my progress and now I can see the results. I recommend Turbo Jam and Spark People to everyone! :-) The hardest part isn't the working out, nor is it the eating healthy, it's continuing to do so and staying on track.

I think turbo Jam is great... This time I did it for six weeks and lost about 12 pounds, buy besides that's my general strength and condition improved a lot.

I got my TurboJam DVDs yesterday and I did the Learn and Burn today! I love it! It's what I've been looking for in a workout and I'm excited to try the other videos. It's so much fun and I'm already looking forward to tomorrow. Me, looking forward to working out...weird...

hey! So I'm halfway through week 4 of the turbo jam beginner rotation, and am feeling much stronger and good about myself for sticking with something for longer than a week. I'm thinking ahead to late spring/early summer for a switch up. I live in an apartment (with people below me who ALWAYS seem to be home) and was wondering if Turbo Fire includes a lot of jumping/burpies etc? I know how effective these moves can be, but I don't want issues with the neighbors. Thanks?

When I first got my TJ DVDs a few years ago, I did them every morning and lost 10 lbs in the first week! I was so motivated and felt sooooo good but ended up falling off the wagon when I got divorced and moved.
WELL I'm back on! Did the Cardio Party last night and I'm feeling great today! Have to take this evening off to take the SK's trick-or-treating, but will make up for it by doing the 20 minute workout tomorrow morning as well as an evening workout.
Can't wait to see some results!

I havent been on Spark much of late and fell of the wagon in a big way. I'm struggling with motivation ,so i am going to start doing Turbo Jam again. I still remember how motivated and good I felt when I was doing this in the past and I think it is the way to get back on track. wish me luck.

I've been MIA but it's bc I'm on a 21 day cleanse. And can only walk/yoga. I am missing my Chalene like crazy but will hit it hard when I can go full out again! I hope you are all doing well! :-)

I still haven't even done a TJ workout again yet! I'm finishing this month with my Jillian rotation but really look forward to do TJ again!
I need to get back into the groove again. Needing motivation, but I do think it has come back. It'll be good to see a supportive team here! I love cardio party, too!

Hi everyone,
just wanted to say 'Hi' here as well! I'm not new to SP and not to TJ either but haven't been on SP for a longer time and even longer not really done TJ! I'd like to include it back into my workout routine and would love to connect with others who love TJ just as much!

Hey everyone, I've been doing TurboJam fairly regularly since 2008, I have the first 2-DVD set with the following routines on it: Learn and Burn, 20 minute workout, Turbo Sculpt, Ab Jam, Cardio Party mix 1. I am seriously thinking of getting ChaLean Extreme (also vacillating between ChaLean Extreme and Insanity). My starting weight in 2008 was 167 lbs, I am now down to 142 lbs but have pretty much plateaued. I want to get back down to 125 lbs (I'm 5' 2"), and do not expect to get there overnight. I do the beginner and advanced rotations alternately, and this year have mixed in crunchless abs (dvds 1 and 2). Just wanted to say hi,and I'm hoping that being part of the Turbo Jammers team at SparkPeople will help me to stick to it more regularly. I like working out in the morning, but the toughie has been allowing myself the 2 hours I need to get a good 20 or 40 minute workout in.

Great! Good luck you; I think I'll get back to TJ; I like cardio party, PK&J, Turbo Sculpt and Fat Blaster the best. Yeah, I think I'm feeling a change.
I'm new to the team, have started Turbo Jam (again) and coming back to SP for the umpteenth time. My goal is 100 days of exercise in a row (I'm also trying to work up to Turbo Fire, I already have it but have to recondition myself before I use it). Have done 5 days of TJ plus 2 of Ab Jam. I'm feeling stronger and I'm planning to do Turbo Sculpt tomorrow but my question is how do I track that workout on SP?
Thanks for any feedback!!!
I'm psyched to be back!

Congrats Tema on your weight loss!!
Well I have been doing my Turbo Sculpt and different stuff for my cardio. I was thinking of trying the toning in the Turbo Fire set, but I love the music w/the TS. I have been doing really good. My form has improved drastically and that makes the burn so much more intense. I am trying to increase my weights but doing the shoulder work is really hard when I add in the 2 pounds gloves to the 5 pound hand weights. I feel so wimpy. I do 3 segments and then the last 2 it is just the 5lbs. That's not bad since the other 3 are intense arm and shoulder work. I rest tomorrow and back to TS on Thursday, so I am going to try it again. Hello all I have some awesome news....I went shopping Thursday and bought some new workout outfits...didn't think about them until today So I tried them on and the pants fell down...I couldn't believe it...So this morning I took them back and got 5 brand new workout outfits 2 sizes smaller....I wanted to shout for joy....I'm so excited my hard work is paying off...This only makes me want to keep going and go down more sizes...So far since Feb 2012 I've lost 38.7 lbs I'm 11 lbs away from my goal this year...
I'm not new to Spark but haven't been active in a very long time. I've been doing TJ for a little while and found this forum doing a search for other TJammers.

HI Michelle! This group is pretty quiet! Glad you are getting back on track with your workouts! TurboFIRE is more intense than Jam for sure. It's really fun and maybe after you've gotten back into the swing of doing TurboJam you'd enjoy the challenge! I know I gained WAY too much weight with my second and CLX and FIRE totally got me back into shape! :-)

Is anyone still active on this team? Not much posting going on around here...
I was pretty active about 4 years ago - anyone from those days still around?
I've had two babies since then and am ready to get back on track! I've been walking / running this past week and did some TJ again. I kind of forgot how fun they can be. Although, they are starting to look dated...how is the new Turbo Fire videos in comparison? Thinking I should stick with TJ until I am back into the swing of things and then I'll look for some new videos to do at home.

Hey all how are you doing?
@UMA108- your weight loss sometimes will start to slow as you move through but it will pick back up. Are you getting enough calories? Are you gaining muscle? Are you retaining water? These are all questions I ask myself bc they can be a reason the scale isn't moving :-)

Thanks, BABIESTEPS!
I was talking with a gf on spark who I had actually told to buy the TJ videos (she loves them...and of course she would!) and she hadn't really tried it either but we both decided to give it a whirl anyway. You're right, I have it...so I might as well use it! I'm going to make a point to try all of them that I have...nothin' like a little more motivation!
Thanks again!

Hi there! Just wondering if anyone can tell me what they think of the Turbo Sculpt workout? I have had my TJ videos since 2004 and have only ever used Learn and Burn and Cardio Party! I usually strength train on my bowflex, but was wondering about this workout for something different. Any replies would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

I was considering Extreme...but wasn't sure if it is as much fun as Turbo Fire- I have the Turbo Jam series, which I totally LOVE. I can't afford both so I have to decide.I read the comparison of the 2 thread. I have the Debbie Sieber's Slim in 6 series but it's sooo boring...The music stinks and somehow I don't find her talking motivational at all! I don't want to spend the money and find out it's boring because of all the explaining Chaleane does. I need more input! Help!

Hello everyone!
I am looking for some advice!
I was an avid Turbo jammer before I had my second child who is now almost two. I want to get back in to it because I LOVED it and had amazing results. I had the TJ set with Cardio party, twenty minute work out, AbJam, Punch kick and Jam etc.....My Dvd player will no longer play any of them. Only 1 works on the computer but it has not video feed and that's no fun.
So, I'm going to buy some new tj stuff. What do I get??? Do I go with Turbo Fire??? Is that going to kill me if I'm really out of shape?? I would love to try something new.
What's Chalean Extreme?? Strength training only??
I would love some help to figure out what to get since funds are limited!
Thanks so much!
Kristine

Found out the only Turbo Jam that works in by dvd player is lower body jam. But the others work in my computer so I am doing them that way now. That makes me happy along with my body by vi I am melting inches off. Had to buy new jeans last weekend and they are already kinda loose. Don't want to weigh myself yet. I am not going to be a slave to the scale!

Is starting a program that expects me not to do cardio for a month. Can't hurt to sneak in at least the 20 min workout 3 times a week, right? LOL

I haven't checked in here in a while. You're right, Sarah, this is a quiet thread (quiet team, really). I am loving Turbo Fire, but am backing off of it a little bit for the next week or two because I'm doing a cleanse type of thing which is not giving me the calories I feel I need to complete and recover from 45-55 minutes of TF!
Wow, impressive goal to climb a 14,000 ft high mt! Which one will you do? Are you an experienced climber? I'm intrigued!

Oh my that sounds SO fun for you! I did a 14'er one time and it was really fun! Bummer about your DVD's but at least you are getting longer cardio in! :-)

Well then let's get it started again. I just checked my basic turbo jam dvd and it won't work on my dvd player. So that means I do the 45 min ones or the lower body jam. So I will definitely be getting the workout portion in. As for eating I am on Body by Vi shakes 2x a day and they are soo good. My big goal is to hike a 14,000 high mountain for my 40th this year. Can't wait!

Hi All! I am new here on the Turbo Jammers Team. My name is Lin and I'm in my 40's with a great husband (of 23 years) and two teenage sons who are a blast. I started TJ about three years ago, got ChaLEAN Extreme nearly two hears ago and am still jammin'! I have had long stretches of faithfulness to it, and then long stretches of slacking off. But she is one I reach for every time. I'm thinking of ordering Turbo Fire after reading all of your comments.
This morning I did Total Body Blast (ball workout) and it kicked. My. Butt. But it was goooood!

I like the first Turbo Jam...Cardio party 1 and Punc, kick and Jam.
For both of ya~~ :) here are my thoughts on both... I love TUrbo Fire.. Its a great workout, plus fun and great music.. If you love Turbo Jam, Turbo Fire is even better! Insanity is great, trully insane..depends on how you want to push yourself.. Insanity is a great bootcamp style workout.. I like that ..I know o many who get these programs and bail after a bit, because they are intense,.. douable though! With both you need to take it at YOUR fitness level, and not try to keep up with everyone in the video...both come with great meal plans.. so truly depends on you.. also between CLX and Turbo FIre, that depends on your goals.. weight lifting is great for leaning out..but you still need the cardio.. me personally I had to add more cardio to CLX when I did it.. and that can be anything! :) hope this helps!

Im stuck also but I cant decide between Turbo Fire and Insanity. They both look awesome. I want to go with Turbo fire because I know it will be great since Ive been doing Turbo Jam and trust Chalene but insanity looks really good too. I love a challenge. Plus Shawn T is kind of hot.

I would skip a day on abs.. they are a muscle too, and you arent supposed to work muscles back to back days..and also you are really working them doing Turbo Jam too.. :)

ive done turbo jam a couple times before but never stuck with it. This time i am serious and close to my goal. I was at teh gym but restarted with TJ this last couple weeks but Im wondering......Are you supposed to wait a day between doing the Ab Jam like you would with sculpt or can that workout be done on Consecutive days?
