I have a super low resting heart rate too. I was wondering if that was effecting it. It makes sense though.

LOL, I understand totally, it really overestimates my burn with any turbo jam also. It does with the curves circuit too. I do have a very low resting heart rate and think that counts for a big part of it.

Yeah, I knew the machines were really off but I thought SP took into account age, weight,etc. It's pretty accurate with my walking outdoors. I guess I was just hoping it was more accurate with TJ because it showed such a big calorie burn. I should have known it was too good to be true!

Thats why we use a heart rate monitor. things usually always overestimate what I burn, spark, the treadmill, eliptical, bike etc. all over estimate.

I have the opposite problem! SP says I should be burning a lot more calories that what my HRM says I am. For TJ 20mwo, I'm burning about half of what SP estimates it to be. Very frustrating!

thanks guys! I did the test again - which was cool because I did *better* than last time!! even though I weigh more, I'm in better aerobic shape - so that's cool!

I guess I'll believe it!

Right you have to update your info and go thru and do the test so that it is accurate...you can go to the polar site and download the instructions if you lost your manual.

I would say its pretty accurate if you have the information put in right. for your weight, height, age etc. They are usually much more accurate than the machines. I have the F4 and I love it. I would go with what it says before would believe the machines. Yu are right in the fact that if you weigh more now you are burning more calories. More fit people have to work harder to get to target heart rate.

So, I have a Polar F11. I bought it a couple years ago and used it for a while, got pregnant and put it away. I just got it out - although I've been pretty active since the new year. and I don't belive how many calories I'm burning!!!

Can it really be accurate?? You can see my weight - so maybe I'm burning more calories now because I weigh more... but it just seems high. It's 100-150 more than what a machine says I'm burning, even with my heart rate...

but I didn't spend $100 to have it not be accurate!!!!

For example, I did Turbo Sculpt and it says I burned 385 calories... I was sweating pretty good... I don't know. any thoughts?
