Yes, it is truly amazing to me, too, that the opposite of what most doctors still preach has worked to lower my risk of heart disease dramatically. I'm excited to learn about all the supplements that can make a big difference, too. The most important ones that I have passed on to my Dad who recently suffered a heart attack: - omega 3 fatty acids - magnesium (not magnesium oxide) - Coenzyme Q10 For people who are on statin drugs the last one is very important, as are some Vitamin E, beta-carotene and L-carnitine. By optimizing our diet we can get some of these from food, but not always in sufficient quantities.

I'm still astonished that returning to meat-eating after all those years 'fixed' (at least for the past 2 years) my life-long cholesterol problem. I eat lots of whole eggs, too!
Can't do dairy but it AMAZES me! The opposite of what we're told worked (for me!). No grains and lots of meat (of course unprocessed and cooked at home).

This book was just published and is based on the most recent research, the kind that your doctor, even your cardiologist, may not read for several years. It challenges conventional thinking about heart disease with lots of new and different info and it got excellent reviews, incl. from medical professionals.
