I like to mix it up but main exercise is cardio at the gym (elliptical, stationary bike, treadmill running), running outside (I'm rehabbing a meniscus tear right now so can't do that for another month) and walking my dog (a 2 year old 41 lb. female pit bull). I average about 19 min/mile walking about about 11-12 min/mile jogging. I do lift weights but haven't been consistent lately and occasionally I'll do the Supreme 90 Day workout videos but again have to be careful with my knee.

Gentle walking only. I walk a 30 minute mile and try to get in 1 mile a day but I dont do it as often as I want to.

After two open heart surgeries i cannot really lift weights or walk to far. I can walk 660 feet in 6 minutes so about 1.8 miles an hour a day and i use the huge rubber band exercise thing. I find that my oldest son and i can sit on the floor and basically play tug of war with it. It actually becomes a workout and i get to spend time with my kids.

I just started using the P90X series. It's pretty advanced, and I wasn't able to do it at first, but now I can get through it if I go at my own pace and let myself take breaks. I did CardioX today, 45 minutes of mixed yoga, kenpo, kickboxing and general cardio. Fun but challenging. I always make sure to do my strength training too. After cardio burns more calories!!!

I found out just recently about my heart condition. Before I went to the gym each and every morning....did 45min cardio and 30 min weight training. Well here I am not allowed to do weight lifting anymore. Try to do cardio but struggles. Bought myself a Elliptical trainer/ Cross trainer for Christmas so will try and do 30 min cardio every second day for a start. School starts one of these days so I will be walking with the kids instead of going in the car. I will walk to the poly tech as well so that has to count for my daily exercise.

Walk the dogs - 1 mile each. Leslie Sansone walking DVDs, and just started pilates with a band. I really like all the DVD's I do. Can't do much additional outside in this heat so the DVd's work great for me. Plus I'm at home in case something should happen.

I LOVE lifting weights...rowing and walking...I lift heavy weights 3x per week (45 mins per session) along with 10 mins of rowing (only cardio that works core, back, biceps, triceps, quads and glutes...YAY); I don't drive, so I have no choice but to walk or take public trans...I usually log 7-10 miles of walking per week...

Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Walking the dogs. And doing Leslie Sansone walking DVD's inside. A real good workout but I'm able to do. I'm not supposed to lift weights or run and I don't swim so this is it.

Curves is a great option if you have one near you. If not swimming and walking should be helpful. I am sure it is frustrating to not feel that you can do what you used to do. :-( I hope you find something you enjoy that you are able to do!

Since the Curves I was going to closed without notice I have gone back to my Richard Simmons and pilates tapes.

When life hands you trouble slow down and stop to smell the roses. Life is so short, live like today is the last day of your life. Enjoy.
My name is Sherry and I am from Erie, PA but live in Ijamsville, MD for the time being.

Before my worse a-fib attack, I loved Tae Bo. It really helped me get in shape; I did it first thing in the morning from 30 - 60 minutes depending on the DVD I used. These days, I can't do them because my heart starts racing when I get to the good parts. It seems like all I can do now is walk and some other light aerobic type of exercises which don't really seem to be working for me. I don't feel like I'm getting a good work out. My walks consist of walking the dogs (one walks fast, one walks slow), walking from my car to my desk for work (including taking the stairs), sometimes walking through the halls at work if I have time to get away from my desk and gardening.

So what do some of you do to stay fit? And for how long (the duration of your exercise)?

I can do it!!
