Well, I am taking a diuretic...so that's not it.

I have been told that beta-blockers can generally lead to a 10lb gain per year. And that is a scary thought.

So...I too keep at the water, eating less cals, exercise, etc otherwise I can't imagine how much I weighed if I didn't do this!!

I HAVE SOME OF THE SAME PROBLEMS. I CAN LOOSE 1-2 LBS. THEN GAIN 2-3 BACK. I CONTINUE TO WORK AT LOOSING AND SOMETIMES I'LL LOOSE 3 POUNDS AT ONE TIME. I DO FEEL THAT IT MIGHT BE THE MEDICATIONS SO I CONTINUE TO KEEP UP THE EXERCISES, WATER AND FOODS TO TRY TO KEEP PROGRESSING. SPEAK TO YOUR DR. REGARDING THE POSSIBILITY OF MAYBE NEEDING WATER PILLS BECAUSE YOU COULD BE RETAINING FLUIDS. WISHING THE BEST TO BOTH OF YOU!emoticon

I sure wish that I had an answer to that question because I am feeling the same way. I lost 4 lbs over the course of 3 weeks only to gain all 4 of it back this week. Why?
I am eating 1000-1200 cals per day and am working out fairly regularly (4x/week).

I know that my heart meds make it harder to loose weight. I don't know if you are taking any, but that could be part of the issue.

My ejection fraction is 40% and now I have to come to find out I have advanced liver disease too. I am not even 40!

I work so hard to loose weight and be active and healthy and I guess that is all we can do. I am told to keep at it and eventually the weight will come off. I have to believe that will be true...one day.

well the weather got lousy again so I've been doing the treadmill every other day without pain. It still remains to be seen what will happen when I try walking outside again. I did use the treadmill on an incline Leroy without a problem. I had a heart attack a while ago with a stent placement and as far as I can remember my ejection fraction was around 45.

I am getting frustrated about my weight loss. I've lost 4 lbs in a month (prior to joing SP) but even though I'm aiming for less calories than recommended, it doesn't seem to be happenening at the rate I've seen on this site for others. Ex I see 25 lb weight loss in 2 months. How do people do that???!!! I realize that this is a lifestyle change for good and not just a diet. What explains a situation where 2 different people can aim below their calorie range and one loses a lot and the other loses slowly? Or are the ones losing quickly running marathons? Please share.

I did lose 2 lbs in 2 weeks so I guess that's good even if it wasn't aerobic.I hope it continues. I'm giving myself a year to lose 50 lbs.

do you have a heart condition? Do you have swelling?

If so, you should mention to your cardiologist. That happened to me and it was because I had a low ejection fraction that was discovered on an EKG

WHEN YOU WALK ON THE TREADMILL MAYBE YOU SHOULD IF YOU CAN, SET IT ON INCLINE AND PRODUCE MORE OF A OUTSIDE WALKING CONDITION. MY BEST ADVICE IS TO ASK YOUR DR. WHAT IT MIGHT BE. OUTSIDE WE HAVE STREETS AND PATHS THAT GO UP AND DOWN HILLS AND DELLS.(SMILE) DON'T WALK A HALF AN HOUR, CUT DOWN YOUR TIME. CHECK WITH THE DOCTOR!!! I DO WANT TO CONGRATULATE YOU FOR GETTING OFF THE COUCH.emoticonemoticonemoticonemoticon

I seem to get leg pains when I walk. I've tried for 2 wks now to walk a half hour; first day is ok. Second day I'm in pain from my butt down through my legs to the point where I can't physically walk on the third day. Wondering if this is a medical problem or just what happens normally when you try to exercise after being a couch potato? This is my second unsuccessful week. Regular walking on the job and around the house doesn't produce any pain so I don't get it.And walking on a treadmill doesn't produce the same pain either!!!??? But with the nice weather, I'd prefer to walk outside.
