That's good to know Mike. Thanks for that reassurance. I just have to wait and see what happens after I see my cardiologist (in a month or so).

I had the same problem with my hart rate, They put me a defibrillator. I know some people have to get pace makers. Don't worry the procedure is an over night stay at the hospital. It help me allot. Good luck.

Mike.

Good for you! I love the pool too and try to make aquafit a regular part of my exercising - usually try for 3 days/ week.

I just had cardioversion last Thursday and it was a disaster - gave me a really low heart rate - still irregular - in the low 30's. I was in Emergency for 2 days. Now it's up to mid 60's low 70's still irregular. So I am just taking it easy for the next few days and see what happens. Taking one drug - Pradax -2X/day. All the best to all of you.

I had Atrial Fib which got so bad (I was continually getting paddled in the hospital). I had to have laser ablation in 2000 which cured it! When I was on the heart pills - biquin mainly - it was hard to know how hard to exercise as the heart rythym was controlled, right? Now I find - probably because I have gained weight - that I am easily winded. I walk -because I can control that - and I ride a stationary bike. I am hoping by losing weight and building up stamina by exercising that I can increase my lung capacity. That is interesting that exercising with the Wii works! Good luck to you all! I am also doing yoga and a bit of TAi Chi; and strength training which all help withcontrolling the breathing.

I can't do any fast paced exercise or I get tired after a few minutes. I found WII Fit allowed me to exercise. My doctors were impressed by my weight lost so far from the game. A few days ago I found Dance Dance Revolution for the WII and found that useful using the Wii Balance Board and controller instead of the floor pad to burn calories in work out mode. After 30 minutes of either game I take my Blood Pressure and Heart Rate which is usually around 97/60 and 50-60 B.P.M.

I too have Atrial Fib plus I've never been a regular exerciser. I'm also looking for exercise ideas. I've gained a ton of weight and am starting to have back problems when I walk. Right now I'm trying to lose some weight and do short walks a few times a day to stretch my back. I too don't think walking is enough for weight loss and get winded when doing anything aerobic but I need some cardio work to drop the weight. Whenever I ask my cardiologist he says I can exercise but nothing too strenuous, well thatís quite a broad answer. Whatís strenuous to one person may not be to another.
Thank you for starting this thread. I hope more people post exercise ideas. Iíve looked all over the internet and there are no suggestions.

I am having a difficult time finding some GOOD, thorough exercises I can do these days. I can't seem to do the heart-pumping TaeBo routines I was once using or any other aerobic routines that really increase my heart rate because I get extremely winded and have to sit down...get dizzy and all that fun stuff. I love to walk so I walk almost every day, but it's never been enough for me really. I can also do strength exercises.

What exercises do some of you do if you have this condition? The only medication I'm on at the moment is baby aspirin.

I can do it!!
