Who is behind those tv food ads at night after supper You know the ones, that make you think it looks good and you know how most of those foods taste like hm yum. Wait a minute, wake up , oh what .. gotttto have ... really or blankity.....etc.
Lifestyle change into a healthier body and mind is a active mind set. being proactive in keeping it there. Even asking
How do you not let those fast foods and convenience foods not effect you when they repeat them every night , even at every televise events. It is almost trying to brain wash us. What the hey.
Just human , easily manipulated. Who is in control.

What do you do when you reach your goal?

Lay off the hard workouts. The excuse of ( I don't have the time or too busy. etc..) I don't think so.
The other is The Other Food. in Moderation, I don't have time to cook or sit at the table etc I tried it and it is too easy to get into just a little it can't hurt. Oops. Thats right For this lay back kind of person. The new chapter has already started, which path to take , one leads to a hard road and allot of good health etc... and the other leads back towards being the way I use to be.
Stay on the right road. ( 1year and 2months on maintaining 100 pound loss.) The Adventure continues.

What's your favorite thing to do in Ann Arbor during the summer?

I think mine is running outside and spending more time downtown since it's less crowded

8/9: What's the biggest change you've noticed in yourself since joining SP?
I can track my nutrient intake now, woot!

How do you reward yourself when you reach one of your goals?
Reaching them is all I need now. I make more goals, of course.

I thought I'd answer a couple.

What's the biggest change you've made in your habits since joining SP?

The biggest change for me has been making exercise a regular habit. I've come to really crave exercise rather than fear it since it make me feel better.

What's your favorite restaurant in Ann Arbor?

I think mine is Cafe Zola for brunch. In fact, I wish I was eating my favorite omelet right now!

Nope, no New Year's resolution... but on Jan 3, I anticipate being given the all clear from November's knee surgery. I'm going to talk to my surgeon and determine what I can/can't/should/shouldn't do with regards to activity levels. If I am allowed to even try running, my 2011 goal is going to be a 5k, jogged. I might be the slowest person out there, but I'd like to try!

Are you making a New Year's resolution?

I'm not really big on them, but I do hope to keep up with my fitness and academic goals for the year.

How do you reward yourself when you reach one of your goals?

I often buy myself a little something, like new clothing that makes me feel good. Sometimes, I make the mistake of using food as a reward. Trying to dial that down a bit since it could easily get me into trouble!

Right now meeting small goals, like staying within my calorie range for the last couple of days straight and not feeling as if I am starving to death! And going over the number of calories I need to burn! These little things are motivating me right now!

Thanks for adding a new question, Sarah! I was on vacation for a few days.

Panera isn't too bad if you plan ahead of time. I always go for a cup of chicken noodle soup and half a salad. If I can avoid the bread, it's not to shabby in terms of calories although the salt is high. I also like to eat sushi at Sadako on South U. Just need to careful to pick things that don't have too many sauces or tempura flakes.

8/16: (hope you don't mind, Rosie) Where's your favorite place to eat out where you can make healthier decisions, for you?

Believe it or not, two of my fave lunch time places are Jimmy Johns and Pancheros. At JJ, drop the mayo and sub mustard and you save a couple hundred calories. For an extra $.75, you can add the avocado spread which is still healthier than the mayo! I also REALLY enjoy Pancheros burrito bowls. I've always preferred veggies to mysterious meat, so I opt for the veggies, the black beans, the cheese & rice, and the pico de gallo. No, it's not as light in calories as a Weight Watchers frozen dinner, but it's a nice treat that doesn't blow my eating for the day! (Now... just stay away from the chips!)

Gallup Park totally rocks. I used to run there a lot, I've skated through a few times, I walk through once in a while, and now I cycle there occasionally. I like Parker Mill park that's attached to it as well.

However, the place I exercise most in AA is my basement. I just finished P90X there last week.

8/11 - What's your favorite place in Ann Arbor to exercise?

I have a membership at a gym, but I love to run in Gallop whenever I get the chance.

My biggest change is that I consistently make healthier options! I reached my goal in November of 2006 and since then have had numerous surgeries. The last one left me on crutches for six months! (Rosie, like you, I ended up with a stress fracture in my leg) And still, I can wear the same clothes that I wore at goal. So I'm doing SOMETHING right!

My biggest challenge was being consistent with the program. I started my spark people account like 3 years ago, and was not able to consistently stay on until recently.

I think the biggest change is that my goals for health and fitness are much more tightly focused than before. There are plenty of other changes, but that's the biggest one, the one that leads to all the others.

Hoping that we can pick up the activity on the team by answering a question of the day.

8/9: What's the biggest change you've noticed in yourself since joining SP?
