Dad is still with us, He told them last night he needed to pee. They were quite surprised, they put a catheter in him and he was full. They then upped his morephine and he went back out. I got my blood work back today. High cholesterol, high blood pressure, and a possible blockage in my heart. I really need your prayers for healing.

It has been such a rough week. I had my surgery last Monday, the next day Mom put Dad into the hospital with a DNR order. He is slowing dying, no fluids since then, just morephine. He turned 90 on the 19th, I went in this morning, he had his eyes open and he said hi to me very softly. My hair tickled his nose when I bent over him and he jumped and smiled, I used to tickle him that way when he fell asleep in his chair. Mom tried to start crap with me and my daughter and we both shut her down, thankfully my older brother was there for us. This has been so hard to watch, but I do not think he will make it through tonight. He is alert and looking around, but that happens a lot right before death. I appreciate your prayers.

Enjoying visitors from Michigan....getting to see a grandson and granddaughters are getting to see their dad, brother, aunt, and grandma. They will be down here until Monday.

We had a good time at our family dinner this afternoon plus had a cake for Dallas who graduated high school last week. His grandma came down also. 21 here for the dinner....of course it rained so had to move everything inside..

quote from Joni Eareckson Tada in this month's Guideposts...."Faith isn't the ability to believe long and far into the misty future. It's simply taking God at his word and taking the next step."

Hi all I too have been missing in action

Things seem crazed lately and the last thing I feel like doing is sparking to be honest.

Having behavioral issues with my Dad that I am trying to correct - even my DH is helping me with that

Trying to get things all in order before my last paycheck but for some reason THINGS keep getting in the way of that budget

Trying to discern do we refinance with some extra money - it appears we will not be selling at least for another year

Reason for that is DH company sold the building they are in - he is the facilities manager - they are leasing back in the same building till they can find a suitable warehouse within a 10 minute drive of the old building because once the new owner doe renovations the company will move back in BUT keep the warehouse where DH will work out of - PHEW hard enough to type never mind comprehend

Having a few issues with my IT bands and leg - I overdid it I am sure in the yard - we have most things planted and the yard look great- even have the pool ready to take off cover and running the filter underneath but the water is a CHILLY 61 degrees TOO COLD FOR ME

Trip to Hawaii is ON schedule and we will use retirement money for that

Still praying we can keep our church building - PCUSA Presbyterian church of USA has given us the go ahead to leave - ECO has accepted us NOW is the nitty gritty of dealing with PCUSA since they OWN all we have - BUT GOD OWNS IT ALL

ENJOY YOUR LONG WEEKEND ALL

THANK YOU VETERANS WHO DIED AND GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR OUR FREEDOM

THANK YOU JESUS WHO DIED FOR OUR SALVATION

My it has been quiet in here!! I have been busy so not pointing fingers at anyone! Hope all are well!!

Elsie - thanks for explaining the difference in the dogs!! They are so beautiful. My sister had a husky and she has a neighbor with a younger dog that looks just like her. The 2 dogs did know one another. My sister really misses her dog. I loved her blue eyes!

2 weeks and my youngest DS and his family move in. We are excited. Getting things ready. Nice to be getting rid of things not needed and making the home ready for young ones again. So if I am not here much that explains it! Will try to come back when I can!

Happy Memorial Day to all!! God Bless our men and women in the military!

The main differences between the Malamutes and the Huskies is the size and the eyes. The malamutes are much bigger and stronger than the husky. Malamutes have mostly brown eyes while the husky can have blue, brown, or yellow. A rare thing is that a husky can have one eye blue and one eye brown or yellow.

Another full day here. I opened the gift shop this morning. Stopped at Lowe's after work for Tammy and myself. I got a large locking tote to store some winter clothes in.

Enjoying a nice quiet evening since Becka is working the late shift and the girls are next door.

Julie----thanks for the prayer updates....

Elsie

Elsie thanks for the cute picture!! Do you have an idea how to tell a Husky from a Malamute? They are both beautiful dogs but they all look like Huskies to me. ;-)

Thanks Julie for the prayer list!!

Less than 3 weeks and my youngest and his family will be moving in! I am so excited. Making progress making room for them. ;-) They have already asked what responsibilities they can take so they are carrying their load! I am blessed!!

Elsie hope you get your rose bush planted and hope it does well. Ddil received a rose bush from a co-worker when her Grandpa passed. She asked me to plant it as she is sure it will die in the office and she doesn't want to plant it at the apartment complex. I planted it in a large flower pot. Hope it will do well and she can plant it when she and DS get their house. Until then ... prayers and my fingers are crossed. ;-)

I did get out today and began digging one of the holes to plant the roses until it began raining so I guess God didn't want me digging. It wasn't raining until went out. Anyway, Andy said he would help me this week end.....now my legs are sore from digging.....lol

Today is cool but sunny and I feel so much better than I did yesterday.

Sunday, I got real cold. When i get cold like that I nearly always get sick. Yesterday I had flu like symptoms with the achiness and poorly feeling. Daisy and I slept most of the day. Today with the sunshine I am much better. Even with the way I felt yesterday, I did get 2 loads of laundry done and hung out on the line so I guess the day wasn't a total loss.

Anjay---that house sounds fabulous and sure hope you can get it if it's what you want.

anyway.....

The house sounds awesome. I had a quiet mother's day. I weeded my dahlia bed, and then planted it yesterday. Hopefully I will get some beautiful flowers. My kids were all elsewhere on Sunday, so hubby and I went out for dinner. We had fun.

Hi everyone, no the little house is ocean front, I love the ocean, it is so majestic and alive and energizing I don't what the draw is but even as a baby I loved the ocean, it has a very calming effect on me.
Hoping everyone has a great day

Hello Friends,
Elsie so glad to hear the baby is home from the hospital! Hope she continues to do well. Scary for a little one that young to be so sick. Glad you had a quiet Mother's Day and will have a quiet evening too. Wonderful that you have 2 new members!

DD and I are having a quiet day. Even the baby is tired and sleeping a lot. He is really growing! If he isn't sleeping he is eating. ;-) He has been rolling over and it won't be long until he is sitting alone.

Anjay glad you had such a good time in the quaint little towns with DS. The little house sounds sweet! Is it near a lake like yours is now?

TURINKY thanks for stopping by. Hope you come back and visit us again soon!

Hugs to all!

Anjay------that little house sounds very cute. If it's God's plan that you have it then He will lead the way.

I had a nice quiet Mother's Day because Becka and the girls were next door celebrating with Tammy (Becka's mom). I got a nice card from my son and daughter in law and postings from Maria and Valerie.

This is Becka's late day to work so I will have a quiet evening again tonight. I am enjoying them very much.

All us mothers got tote bags at church yesterday. Mine is blue with the word Faith on it. We gained 2 new members yesterday---one by letter of transfer and one by profession of faith and is a candidate for baptism.

Take Care....Elsie

Good day ladies I pray everyone had a wonderful mothers day. Wayne and I went out for a drive to a small village called Port Medway, to a craft show where I bought a braclet made from spoons I will post a picture later it is very pretty and creative. Then we went for brunch at the Port Grocer, this is a very small village it only has one store and I just love it there I could move in a heartbeat, there is a very small house there its only 432 square feet (16x26ft) on just over an acre of land, it has no sewer and no hydro connected, but I have fallen in love with it, we viewed it last summer, I pray continuously to God that one day that will be our forever home. Then a last month someone put an offer on it, then they were out bidded, then the higher bid decided on some other property, 1st offer had already bought so little house is back on market. Praise God, we cant afford to do anything yet, but everything in Gods perfect timing. After a wonderful brunch we drove down to a couples house whom Wayne had met when he was delivering supplies to them. They were selling a 4ft lathe Waynes dream. They are a wonderful couple we ended up staying for coffee, and the husband was so impressed with Wayne and his enthsiasim he gave Wayne the lathe for 1/2 of what he was asking for. God is so good. Then later that night sadly we had an upsetting moment Wayne and the boys and dil were headed to town to the movies when Waynes arm spasmed, he hit the gas and had to pull out fast or he would have hit car in front sadly it was a double yellow, There was a police car on the corner he pulled Wayne across and wrote him a ticke but again praise God instead of a $700 ticket, the policeman listened to Wayne and because it was health related wrote him a ticket for $291. Although upsetting the praise report here is Wayne has finally agreed to go after work on Friday to emerg to have it x-rayed, this shoulder has been a problem, since his accident in October, he is a very stubborn man. So all in all a good Mothers day, my boys even remembered. Sorry this has turned out so long.

Hi everyone sorry I have not been around I have been doing way to much and now I am so very tired, but that will pass, our roof is 1/4 done, Wayne and Janos motly Jared & and Lamia helped when they were here. Stripped the old tar and gravel off the roof, the they covered the boards with roofing membrane, and then framed a false roof on top of that, one sie is framed and has ice and water shield on it, the other side gets done tomorrow, so much work, but after the huge leak in the new mater bedroom all work inside has been stopped until we finish the roof, so we are still sleeping in the closet (6x8ft) room

Morning Friends,

Wow as always many things going on here. I remember when I first came to this site and all the friends I met. It is so nice to continue to hear from many. I do miss some, however I have not been as good about posting as I used to either. Does anyone hear from Irene or Born?

Elsie, praying for you all, peace and comfort and for the Lord to lay His healing hand on Lisha.

Laura, praying for all, so many things you ave going on, of course you have always been a good juggler. I am sure in God's perfect timing a perfect home will be available.

Daddys-girl, wow you have some praises! That is great for your DS, he has accomplished a great deal, husband, father and a masters degree! Enjoy this season.....

We are plugging along. I seem to been in kind of a funk most of the time, very emotional. I am sure there is a reason, just not sure what it is. I have decided to just spend more time in God's word.

Have a blessed day!

Praying for all,

Blessings,
Ali emoticon

Sat with Lisha today for about 4 hours while Becka got things settled at work. They want her to work 2 to 3 hours a day so she won't get so many points which could affect her job. Thankfully she has documentation from the hospital.

I have been SWAMPED with my Dad, my own health issues, church work day THEN the Kentucky derby into Saturday night of course church on Sunday and SEVERAL open houses to check out houses on Sunday PHEW I am tired

The open houses were a bust, too many stairs in one house, too long a walk to get to the house from the street entrance driveway MY GOSH if we moved there groceries would be a NIGHTMARE, then a couple had oil heating BUT could not convert so A BUST!

Church work day is always a blast but as I am getting older I am getting tired from what I do BUT it is so good to have lots of conversations and prayer with other people

This week seems a bit quiet - took Dad out to Bed Bath and Beyond, worked with Apple on my iPhone overheating and I feel the phone is possessed - that took over two hours and we will be doing more later tonight - I thought my phone was bad poor Ross had his phone bounce off the deck into the bilge and oil tank on the boat needless to say HIS is DEAD and GONE - he is off to one of the Apple stores to get a new one

I have special massage therapy for my leg tomorrow and acupuncture -

I am NOT taking that job - that was decided over the weekend - Colie and I are trying to decide on what we want to do - raise rent on our tenants or keep trucking along - I have two back up funds I can draw on till Social Security kicks in - so we are still praying about that

I have three private clients lined up at the end of May and that will be a nice paycheck

Colie and I have booked a weekend away in September and we don't care WHERE we take the money we are going to have a FABULOUS weekend in Providence for Water Fire!! We have done that for 4 years now ever since my Mom passed away

Did a TON of work in the yard this weekend too - had to laugh Colie went to do something for me near my neck and said RELAX honey and I said THOSE are my relaxed muscles and his reaction was "CRAP - no wonder you are in pain - those suckers are so tight I cannot move them!" YUP welcome to my world!

Great visits too at the 3 month check out for me - My doctor congratulated me for having dropped over 60 pounds AND KEEPING IT OFF!! I said I still would like to drop this last 20 and he said if it happens GREAT - you have so many limitations I am NOT UNHAPPY where you are at

Then he turned to Colie and said "WE NEED TO TALK!!" He did drop 3 more pounds but he is back to the borderline diabetic stage so we will be working on that

IT IS WHAT IT IS!

My Mom will be gone 4 years next week - hard to imagine and the week after than Linus will be here with us 2 years - Poor pup is LIMITED on his mobility his leg/paw/hip has an issue but I can see it resolving - his cardiologist will see him mid-July and the great news is I have been collecting $ from his other parents and there is MORE than enough for his appointment!

Think I have got you all caught up

Lisha wasn't able to be taken off the oxygen. When it was decreased, her respirations decreased also. She has to be off for at lest 12 hours before she can be discharged.

Elsie so sorry about the baby. I just read your post! Hope the baby is feeling better. There is so much of that going around right now. It is frightening in one so little.

My DS graduation was on Saturday. He is the first in the family to earn his master's degree. We are very proud of him and very thankful for his dear wife for all the love and support during this 2 yrs. So much happened in those 2 yrs. He started their courtship and planned the wedding and honeymoon and got married and then they learned they were going to have that precious little boy 2 months before their first anniversary! How he could manage to keep studying and earn that Master's degree I will never know. ;-)

DDil's Grandfather's funeral services were on Friday. He will be missed but we are all so thankful he is not suffering anymore.

Hugs to you all!

Lisha has been on oxygen since sometime during the night Thursday. If she can be weaned off it then she may be discharged. Nala, the 2 year old, has also been diagnosed with RSV but didn't have to be hospitalized. She is doing a little better today.

Met with some Spark friends today at a park in Springfield, MO. We walked their trail for about 2 hours. It went to a pretty bridge over a stream with a free flowing dam. Was a nice way to spend some outside time. We will meet again in the fall.

Take care.........Elsie

Morning,

Well we have another rainy day in GA. Sounds like all of you are getting rain. Anjay, I understand what you mean about the way the weather changes how you feel. My ds does not do well with this rain and overcast. I know the rain is good, but I am getting tired of it.

I made it through brunch yesterday and the 1st night of my dd play. I am so looking forward to resting tomorrow. We have family coming in for the play tonight so it will be another busy day. My dd is in our local homeschool drama club and their end of year production is this weekend. They presented "You Can't Take It With You". My dd was blessed to have one of the leads. What a day yesterday was.

Laura, sorry to hear about all you are going through, the last thing you needed was a fender bender.

Praying for all.

Blessings,
Ali emoticon

Morning.

Hope you all are having a blessed week. I feel like I am just running. We finally have sunshine this week so I have been able to enjoy some time outdoors. Its been great.

My dd play is this weekend so that has kept me busy all week. I also invited some friends over for Friday for a going a way brunch for another friend. Pray for me. I am in a situation where a couple of these ladies tend to stress me. I am not sure why I did this.

Hope you all are seeing sunshine, praying for all. I skimmed the post. I have missed a lot.

Happy Thursday,
Blessings, emoticon

updates

Started the morning off with a fender bender - I was moving my car to let my housekeeper park on the right side of the street and she didn't back out out of the spot I was going into - nothing serious just some scraping - I asked her if she wanted any $ for the scrapes and she said NO - it was all on the plastic side - next time I won't move my car unless WE coordinate the move - think she is intimidated with City parking

After that headed down to the Cape to Bourne so my Dad could leave flowers on my Mom's grave - got some shopping done at Ocean State and Christmas tree stores too

The part time job I applied for and then have had a couple of "email" questionnaires is NOW up to a phone interview tomorrow. I see they have had ads off and on the web since last July so NOW I am going to interview the as well making up MY list of questions - had to laugh because a friend of mine looked at my answers to the last 13 ?'s and she said 'Looks like you are telling them WHAT you will do for part time work more than them asking you"
WE SHALL SEE

Concerned though over the last few weeks with my Dad's memory etc - going to discuss this with Colie tonight after our evening walk.

Hello everyone ~ Hope you all are having a good day ~ let us rejoice in our salvation no matter what may come our way. Don't let anything steal your joy. There is always something to be thankful for no matter what troubles come our way because we have Jesus, and He alone is enough to be thankful for. Be blessed emoticon

Julie ~ Thank you for the prayer requests. Let us all be prayer warriors. No one is too small to make a difference, we are all part of the Body Of Christ and every part matters :) I will include them in my prayers.

"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. But rejoice, to the extent that you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy."
~ 1 Peter 4:12-13

Do not lose faith in times of trials during this life. God has not promised that life here as a follower of Jesus would be easy, but He has promised it would be worth it. Knowing God does not make our lives as Christians perfect, but walking by faith in Jesus and being able to trust God is what gives us peace to accept the trials that come our way.

Father, I thank You for this life. I thank You for drawing me to You and opening my eyes to all that You are and giving me the gift of salvation only by Your grace through my faith in Jesus. I thank You for the peace that comes from You, which is not like any peace the world can offer. The world tells me I will be at peace when my life is based on having enough material things, which are temporary. But your peace Father, comes from knowing that when all of these temporary things shall pass away, I will have You because You are eternal ~ and that is all I need. I have peace because I know that no matter what troubles and trials I may go through here, You are with me and You will never leave me or forsake me. I know that no matter what happens, it is all in Your hands and You have a reason for everything. Your Word says that all things work together for the good of those who love You, and You have a plan that works for my good even during times I may not understand what You are doing. So whatever it is that comes my way, I will remember that it is You who is in control and I trust You. I give you all my cares, my worries and my anxieties and You leave me with peace. Please comfort my friends and siblings in Christ and bring Your Word to those who do not know You yet so they may know Your love and turn to You. Thank you and I love you, in Jesus name Amen.

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
~ 1 John 1:9

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes." ~ Romans 1:16

"Behold, like the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in my hand."
~ Jeremiah 18:6

Thank you Jesus for this day that You have made! I can do all things because You strengthen me.

fternoon all

Busy weekend and lots of cardio to get things ready for our Teddy Bear and Friends Picnic at church for children and families! We had over 20 kids come and it was a blast. Very tiring being on the go for hours yesterday PLUS I tried a new recipe from Chef Daniel Bruce's cookbook. He is the executive chef at the Boston Harbor Hotel - he is great. Anyhow I posted on Facebook his recipe photo and mine final outcome MATCHED PERFECTLY - and oh the recipe relish - Cocoa and coffee rubbed flank steak YUMMY

Was concerned I did not have much voice left after yesterday but my solo went well today and PHEW on to the next one!

After church and the youth group's mission trip fundraiser of a pancake breakfast we came home and made a nice pot of Kona coffee, I checked out Craigslist for any new jobs and we are taking it easy this afternoon

My prayers have been answered! So this is a praise report. My 15 yr old daughter announced that she no longer believed in God. Then confessed two weeks later that she still does. For some reason, this hit me so hard when she told me that, but I made sure that I did not show it to her.
My husband left me and we are divorcing, he's high functioning Autistic. He gives me $600 a month to live on. He has the car. I've been walking all over & taking bus, sometimes at night. This scared my dad. Yesterday he bought me a car and insured it for a year for me.
I'm so blessed. That you so much Lord!

Hi All,
Sorry I have been missing. Life has been super busy around here. DS and his sweet girl were home last weekend for 4 days. The met at my house as they come from different directions and we all had a wonderful visit together. We also celebrated DD's birthday and got some much needed things done at the house. Still plenty more to do but so it is with homes, isn't it?!!

Hope Everyone has a great weekend!

Hugs and blessings!

What blessings you have Laura!

My exercise logs will not show much walking anymore, my dad bought a car for me!!!!
I walked over 6 miles one day and was exhausted, he felt bad.
Praise God for his blessings he bestows on us!

Hi all been MIA but lots going on

Read your posts and praying for all of you

I stopped PT on my hip/knee it was causing a bigger issue on my knee. Decided to stick with Acupuncture and massage therapy - NOW I have a scheduled time JUST for my hip/knee every week and we are beginning to see improvement. Met with the Orthopedist who is angry that the PT did not listen to me NOR did they follow his instructions. My orthopedist is a Christian and we have such great chats. He gave me another cortisone shot and told me to keep doing my program THIS WILL GET BETTER IN TIME - so TIME AND PRAYER

Church job ends on 6/30 we have a Children's ministry outreach this Saturday - weather is going to be beautiful so hopefully we will get a ton of kids

Have sent my resume out and what is amazing is HOW GOD is just having people respond to it! More so for the part time work - already into the third phase with one company and I just sent my resume LAST Saturday!! Not sure what God has planned BUT I am waiting on Him to lead

My prayer requests will have more info too

SENDING MUCH LOVE AND PRAYERS TO YOU ALL

"For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." ~ Jeremiah 29:11

When everything is finished, we will know that nothing was ever random. It was all in God's control, all a part of His plan.

Heavenly Father,
I know you have a plan for my life. I trust you and ask for Your will to be done, and not my own. Even in times that I do not understand, I will trust you and not lean on my own understanding. Your Word says that all things work together for the good of those who love you, and I believe that. You give me Your peace to accept any situation I am faced with because I know that you are in control, and I surrender to you. I pray that you lift up all those whose faith is in you Lord, that you give them strength to get through each day. I pray for those who do not know you yet, that you may draw them to you and open their eyes to all that you offer us, to all that you have done for us. Thank you Father for the salvation you have given us through Jesus Christ, I love you. In the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior I pray, Amen.

It's been a gloomy cloudy chilly day here. The chilly dampness really get my allergies flared up. Daisy and I slept most of the day that's how much the weather can drag me down.

Thanks VDale. My kids are all adults but my DGS who isn't even 6 mths old yet. The ones running around in the back yard are the 2 dogs that are 10 months and a yr old. They lived together for 4 mths but in January DS was able to take his pup home and this is the first time they have been back together. ;-) They were a lot of fun to watch! Mine has slept almost solidly since DS and his dog left yesterday afternoon!! ;-) Wish we all lived closer, it was wonderful to be together!
