Daisy said that since it was fairly nice out that I had to hang the laundry on the line so she could be outside with me....she didn't run much today...the wind was brisk and a little chilly so she got chilled since she didn't put her coat on before going out..

Supposed to get into the mid 60's tomorrow so we will be out walking again...didn't get many steps in today..

Thank you SAINTBERNARD6, glad to be here. emoticon

I appreciate the terminology lesson DADDYS GIRL. I was so confused. I won't tell you what my guesses were as to the "letters", grin, they were silly. I am grateful you let me know. Yes, I am enjoying the posts in here, and thank you for your gracious welcome~

Happy Monday Everyone!
It is a lovely Spring day here! LOL 50 when I got up and supposed to reach 70 today. It is days like this that make the cold days of Feb and March hard to take. But sometime March can be very beautiful Spring weather too. Then we are usually in for a very long and hot summer. Southern living has it advantages and disadvantages too. ;-)

JulyCity glad you enjoy our chats and want to know what our conversations are about. Sorry to use those letters but have been told they are common by so many folks I stopped explaining. ;-)
I remember how lost I was at first. ;-) DD = Dear Daughter or Dear Dad although I prefer DF for Dear Father to avoid confusion. ;-) DS = Dear Son DSs is Dear Sons (I have 3). HS is High School or Home School, DH is Dear Husband and DW is Dear Wife. DGC is Dear Grand Children so DGS is Dear Grand Son and the you can figure DGD is Dear Grand Daughter. Ddil is Dear Daughter in Law, DSil is Dear Son in Law or Dear Sis in Law. Never hesitate to ask if there is one that stumps you! ;-) I see in HisOwn1's prayer list WBC which is Winter Bible Camp or Club.

Elsie I think your Pastor is right! I have never heard it called anything but "business meeting" too but like "ministry meeting" better. Sorry your youth pastor is leaving but so thankful it is for a "good" reason. So many today leave because they are leaving the ministry or have gotten into troubles morally or financially. Hope Wichita is a good move for him and his family. My first 10 yrs I grew up in a little town south of Wichita! Still have great memories of my chlldhood there!
;-) Although I am sure it is different now that it was then, as everywhere is!

Looking forward to a good week!!
Hugs to all!!!!

Good Evening Everyone,

Had a looooooooong day at church........after morning service we had a pot luck dinner and then the monthly business meeting---our pastor calls it the ministry meeting because he doesn't like the term business meeting..

A joyful and sad announcement at church this morning....our youth pastor is resigning to become the pastor of a church in Wichita, Kansas. He has been at our church for 9 years---much longer than I have...lol... We will support him and his family in this venture but are sad that they are moving.

Welcome Julycity...

Take care.......Elsie from southwest Missouri

Hi! Hope everyone has had a great Sunday! It has been for me! Am feeling much better and had a wonderful time at church. Got a couple things done at home and am looking forward to going to bed early!

Elsie glad you are feeling better and got to be out in the fresh air for awhile with Daisy! I thought of you this morning. Sebastian wanted out before we left for church. Then he didn't want to come in. I walked the back yard for 15 mins while he ran! He so misses my DS's dog. He finally came in and we got to church on time! ;-) Will have to walk with him more often now!

Welcome JulyCity!! Hope you join us often. This is a great team of ladies! We pray and care about one another and would enjoy you joining us!

Along with the wonderful sunshine came a better mood. Daisy and I walked in the park after my errands were finished, then walked again after getting home. Also got out and filled the bird feeders. So good to get outside until the bitey wind set in.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
Elsie sorry your nephew is having such troubles.
Hope the extra rest was just what you needed.

Ali yes those were fun days for both of us. Sorry your kids are having such tough issues. Hope you find some answers soon.

Encadia - either way or both works just fine. Reply means you introduce yourself to this topic group of people. A new topic introduces you to anyone on the whole team that wants to read and reply and you may never hear from them again. This team is a good one and will respond, pray and hold you accountable as much as you will let us. Hope you join us again!

Julie hope you little ones get well and stay that way!

Am feeling better. Another couple of days and I should be as good as new! ;-)

Morning Friends,

We are maintaining around here. I am so praying for my children. My ds did not have his best day yesterday and my dd just keeps going. My dd is exhausted with pneumonia and my ds does the best he can with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. I am starting to get very emotional about it all. I really just want to hibernate with everything.

Elsie, praying for this young man. Please keep us posted.

Daddys_girl, as always you have a lot going on. I miss the old days when I would post about homeschooling and you shared some of your homeschooling days like the hockey before school. Time flys my friend.

Joanne, you are right a Naturalpath and a D.O. are very similar, here the real difference I see is the D.O. can prescribe meds and uses both natural and prescriptions meds to help. Kinda the best of both worlds if you have a good one.

Praying for all.

Hope you all have a great week.

Blessings,
Ali emoticon

Miss no single opportunity of making some small sacrifice, here by a smiling look, there by a kindly word; always doing it all for love.

Becka found out today she is having another girl.....this will make great grandchild number 8.....5 boys and 3 girls..due around March 11

Please add my nephew Dan to your prayer list. He is a young man who was just diagnosed with cancer. He had lung surgery a few days ago, which I don't know the exact results, but he is going to have chemo. I don't know a lot about this young man either just that he needs prayers.

Thanks.......Elsie

Good Tuesday to all of you. Had our TOPS weigh-in yesterday and I am pleased to say that I was down 2.5 pounds. Now if I can keep the momentum going that will be great. Went to see Brendan's basketball game yesterday. It was quite exciting at first but then the other team started to pull way ahead. As is typical with many children with Learning Difficulties, when Brendan's team saw the gap extending they tended to give up. I have to give credit to the coaches of his team. Their focus is more on having the kids participate and learn new skills than on pressuring them to win. This way they can have all the kids playing not only the better or taller ones. It also gives those kids a break, other wise they would play the entire game.

Elsie glad your family dinner went well and that you had fun. Daisy sounds like a true god send to you. The exercise pets provide is why I enjoy dog sitting for my sister. I always know that I will get out and walk at least once a day. How did your bible study go? Wow, I can only imagine about turning the heat down or off. Although our temperatures are just below freezing (-1 to -5 Celsius - low 30s to high 20s in Fahrenheit I think) it is still to cold. However, this is much better than what it was last year at this time so I won't complain.

July, once again thanks for posting the prayer list. It is greatly appreciated. How are you doing? How are things going with the homeschooling?

Ali I hope you enjoyed your family day. How was your bible study? Glad your ds is going in the right direction. Continued prayers for your dd. Thanks for the information on D.O.s. It sounds quite different from conventional western medicine. It reminds me a bit of the Naturopathic Doctors that we have here in Canada. They also see the person as a whole and treat the whole of the body not just the symptoms. Keep us posted on how your dd is doing.

emoticon 2bdynamic. You will find that we are a group of very supportive and encouraging people. Congratulations on your weight loss to date. That is amazing. Thanking God that the party villa neighbors have moved on. Will pray that you find the ideal place to live and that it is closer to work. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Daddy's girl, glad you are almost over the cold. They can be so miserable. Wow that is a scary experience with the bleeding nose. How is DS doing? Is he staying quiet as he is supposed to? Is this the DS who just became a father?

Laura I hope you are enjoying Hawaii and taking a lot of pics to show us when you get back. Anjay and Sash how are you doing?

Well must get going, take care everyone and have a great Tuesday,
emoticon Joanne

Happy Monday Everyone! Thankfully I am almost over the cold. Thankfully it was just a cold and not the flu! DS is home from the hospital and is doing well. The surgery was a success. It was done like an angioplasty going through a major artery to get to the smaller one to block it off. That was why he heavily bled for 17 hrs ... it was an artery not the normal small vein that makes a normal nose bleed. Now to get to him to rest as long as he is supposed to! LOL

Sash are you enjoying the views and the scenery from your home? Would love to see a pic of it!

Elsie so nice Daisy has been out to be out and to run. DS#2 has moved now and has taken his 7 mth old puppy. She is missing our 9 mth old puppy and he her! Neither of them move and play as they did when they were together. They will love it when they get together again!
Family dinner sounds like fun. So glad your family does that faithfully!!

Joanne we did have a good visit with the kids. Rain never did come. Their last day I was just getting sick but at least it didn't ruin their whole visit.
Glad you can keep the personal trainer for awhile yet. Hope you get along well and she can help you!

Ali thanks for explaining about a DO. Are they less likely to try to stop symptoms with medication and get to the root of the problem and fix that?

2B Welcome! This is a great team of ladies! We pray and really care about one another!
Glad the neighbor situation has been resolved! Praying you get like minded (to you) neighbors in the other place! Isn't God good to answer our prayers!

I just joined but so happy DH and I got answered prayer! We live in a townhouse and the peeps who were connected decided to turn it into "Party-Villa!" ............ Hence, we got next to NO sleep for 2.5 months! ................. Awful! Management drug their feet in doing anything;; had to go to the OWNER of the complex w/ TWO letters documenting events--even police coming out twice! ................... Long story short ................ They finally have been evicted! ....................... Now if you Believers don't mind, I would like to ask for agreement prayer that we find the ideal place to live---which for one is to be much close to work .................. emoticon

Morning,

I hope everyone is having a blessed Sunday! emoticon

We are going to have a family day. We are going to my parents to celebrate my ds, my brother and my nephew's stepsons birthday. Then we are going to our family bible study. Busy, but fun day.

I am feeling better, my ds is going in the right direction, however my dd needs prayer. We are still trying to figure everything out with her. She could not even sleep last night.

Sunshine, so good to hear from you! Here is some info on a D.O.

"The main difference between the two types of physicians is that D.O.s have been specially trained to perform osteopthic manipulations on patients. They view the patient as a "total person" and focus on preventative care. They view the whole body rather than treat specific symptoms or illness. D.O.s use Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) in their practice. This involves the use of their hands to diagnose injury and illness and to encourage your body's natural ability to heal. Osteopathic medicine is a fast-growing segment of the United States healthcare field."

Thank you as always Julie! emoticon

Blessings,
Ali emoticon

Good Saturday evening to all of you. Oh my I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted. It has been cold and dreary here for some time now and it is truly discouraging. I do not do well with cloudy and cold. On the positive side, I have found a way to balance my budget and be able to afford six more months of personal training. I will be working with a different trainer. She and I will meet once a week and then I will do two days on my own. I look forward to doing this as I truly do want to get healthier and build my muscle mass. Will let you all know how it goes. Bridget and I start next Wednesday so.....

Daddy's girl, I did not feel you were preaching at me and I hear you about the commercials. That is exactly the way Brendan is. If he watches anything the least bit frightening or too imaginative before going to bed, he will not sleep well. So mom does try to curtail his television and You Tube videos so he does not become as upset as he would. How did your visit with the kids go? Did they make it to your place before the skies opened up? How is DS#1 doing? Sorry to hear about your cold. Are you still holed up or have you gotten over it?

Elsie glad you managed to get out and fill the bird feeders. It must be so heart warming to look out and see birds. I have a friend who does the same as you do and does she ever have beautiful pictures of all these colourful birds. I am sure that it brightens her day. Glad to hear that Becka's van got fixed. How did Kira's appointment go? How is the new skin regime working out for her? Is she now four? Glad your meds seem to be working. Congratulations on the 3 pounds lost. You go girl! Keep up the good work! How nice that you have a park where Daisy can run in. It does help to burn off some of their energy doesn't it?

Julie, I did not have any changes so did not send you an email. I probably should have but totally forgot. How have you been keeping? How are things going with the home schooling?

Laura enjoy your holiday. You sure have earned it. Swimming with sea turtles sounds like quite the adventure. I am sure you will have many to tell us about when you return. In the meantime have FUN!!!!!

Linnie sorry to hear of your bad experience at the doctor's. How are you doing with your wrist? Is it still sore? Did you get the results yet? I count my blessings that here in Ontario we are not assigned doctors based on insurance plans. I have a family doctor who takes care of everything and if she does not have the answer to my questions or my problems she does not hesitate to send me to a specialist.

Ali sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well. I hear you about the holding on. I had a cold just before Christmas and am only now truly beginning to feel 100%. The naturopath I see gave me a stronger dose of Vitamin B and that seems to be making a difference energy wise. How are your son and daughter doing? What is a D.O.?

Anjay sorry to hear that you had a bad week of medical and doctors reports. Good for you on refocusing your life and moving forward. Keep us posted on how things are going.

Well ladies must get going, take care everyone and have a great Saturday evening,
emoticon Joanne

Hello All,
DS about passed out in the ER last night from the blood loss. That got them moving him in to a room to check him out. They put in a rhino rocket, some kind of packing but didn't totally stop the bleeding but did slow it down tremendously. Tomorrow he is scheduled for surgery to embolize it. They expect him to come home 3 - 4 hrs after surgery.

Anjay so sorry it has been such a hard week but glad you are going to refocus!

Elsie glad you enjoyed the sun!! I am not sure what it was like today. I have been holed up in my bedroom as I have come down with a cold and don't want DD or DGS to catch it. He is too little for a nasty cold like this!

Hugs to all and again thanks for the prayers!!

Hi All,
DS #1 is in the hospital tonight. A bleeding nose that they can't seem to stop even with cauterization this afternoon. It has been 14 hrs now. Seems like he wouldn't have much left as this isn't a drip but a steady stream. CT Scan has been done. Thanks for the prayers!

Elsie hope you and DD had a good time today!
Be safe on the roads!

Sash that is terrible!

Ali please take care of you! You are the only Mommy they will ever have and they need you to be well and strong too. Amazing what things the Lord has our children learn through life and not books. Glad you have a peace about schooling.

Morning,

Wow, I did not realize it has been so long since I posted. I got sick, cold like feeling and just can not seem to totally get rid of it. I am trying to avoid taking antibiotics. I am using oils and some natural meds. I am doing better, but my follow through is not get so I seem to relapse some. I know, just like antibiotics I need to finish all. I just get in mommy mode and do not take as good of care of myself as I should.

We are on our 2nd week of trying to get back into the routine. We are getting better. My ds has had 3 dr. appointment in the past week and 1 more today. He has seen the naturalpath twice and the chiropractor once. My dd and ds see the D. O. today. We are going to get to the bottom of everything. We are not getting as much done in school as I would like but I have peace as I feel we are doing what God would have us do.

Have a great time Laura!

Praying for all.

Blessings,
Ali emoticon

I went to the doctor yesterday for the electrical test for carpral tunnel. He shocked me so hard he burned my skin, then resorted to the needle test. Well, I came off the table screaming at him in agony so he pulled the needles and said he would mail the results of the test. What a moron. No wonder he gets paid less, but that is what you get when you have to go to the insurance company's doctor.

Busy weekend with football games and trying to get my Dad packed or at least his clothes ready which I ended up washing and or having him get some new pants BUT all we need to do is place the clothes in the bag HE is done

For me - I was ready MONTHS ago - carry on is pretty empty GOOD THING because it will be filled with Kona coffee on the way back along with some macadamia nuts - got to think what to get my Junior Church assistants I have 4 girls and they are sweethearts!!
All I need to do is put my dresses and skirts in - they are all on hangers I have a really neat suitcase that is a suite/suitcase so I usually can get two weeks in that!

Colie is all set I went over his clothes at half time during the game yesterday all he has to do is put his dress pants and shirts in - his carry on will carry my camera although we are allowed TWO items - my portable purse wallet is so small it will fit in my carry on and that should be OK

Ross and Christina are just about ready - she went to work today BUT is planning on getting her nails done after work - MINE were just done

House sitter is coming over tonight to go over things and Linus goes to our neighbors next door after dinner

SO I guess we are ready as we can be I need to see if I can get the boarding passes -

Will be getting up at O DARK THIRTY for sure!!! Probably 3:30 AM ish

Got a LONG honking day tomorrow

OH and I did find a place to watch the Pats game and better yet we are going out for a morning sail and I will be swimming with the sea turtles YEA - not sure I will go scuba diving - I am the only one certified and Christina is afraid of anything that swims near her so I think I will do the swimming.snorkeling at Turtle canyon and then snorkel one other place

Should be able to see the whales as well

Hope to get on at least once during vacation

Happy Friday Everyone! Really looks like snow today. The skies are so "heavy" and gray! We are predicted to get some. Hope we get a really good one, once all the kids get here! lol We have plenty of firewood and food and we can play board games and love and laugh and have a great time! As long as Mommy is here to feed the baby!! ;-)
The puppies haven't seen snow yet so it will be fun to see their reaction.

Elsie hope you don't have ice when you need to fill the bird feeders. Be safe and warm and hug Daisy for me!!

Joanne it makes me smile to see you posting every day! I am so glad you find the time to join us!
Praying Brendan will find the trust and peace in the Lord that he will learn he can trust the Lord to care about the things that he is concerned about. I know it is a life long lesson. But worry even if it is for someone else damages us. God doesn't want us to worry but to TRUST Him. And that is my focus for the year. So not preaching at your or Brendan just seeing myself in him. When I was a little girl Mom had to be careful about the commercials I saw for CARE and I am not even sure it is around anymore ... maybe it was the precursor of the Peace corps? Anyway, I would be so upset by the suffering and starving children pictured and would cry for hours. ;-)

Off to get some things accomplished today.

Hugs and blessings to all!!

Hi everyone not much happening here today. It was not as cold today as it has been however, it has been quite humid. I can't complain though as this winter is so much easier than it was last year at this time. Ice covered everything, it was difficult to walk outside and was generally unpleasant. At least this year we don't have to worry about that and I can go out for walks when I bundle up. An update on Brendan's basketball game. They did not do well with it but we subsequently found out that their first practice was yesterday at lunch and yesterday afternoon was their first game. At least because of this his father was not as difficult as he could have been and Brendan did not take all of this personally as he understands that the teams were not equal. The other team was primarily Grade 8 kids where as his team was primarily Grade 7. I am sure that with time and practice they will do better.

Elsie sorry that your TOPS meeting was cancelled. I hate when that happens but sometimes it can't be helped. Too bad Daisy could not go with you, I know that Starr just loves to follow us where ever we go and looks so sad when we leave her at home.

Anjay so sorry to hear that your appointment did not go well and that they have found so many other issues. Praying that the proposed treatment will be successful and that you won't get anymore negative news from the orthopaedic doctor next.

Daddy's girl how nice that your son is with you for a few more days. That will be nice for you to have his friend there as well. Yes Brendan is doing quite well. He is such a sensitive soul and worries about the state of the world way too much for someone his age. It doesn't matter how much we tell him that he can pray and ask God to help people ease all these tensions but he remains worried.

Laura when do you leave for your trip? Enjoy yourself and please bring some sun and heat back with you.

Ali, Julie, and Irene hope all is well with all of you. Has anyone heard from 1wife2mom?

Talk to you all later take care and have a great evening,
emoticon Joanne

Hi Friends!
Whacko day here. Dogs were up a lot through the night. Slept late this morning. I have lots to do but it will get done. DS is going to be with us a few more days and his girl is coming for a visit. It will be fun to have all my children here again.

Julie - that is one of my biggest concerns with out DH with me. The kids want me to update services but I just don't want to deal with troubles that changes bring. So sorry but so glad you have DH to talk with the company to get things right again! I hope they don't mess up your security system either!!

Laura how many days left?!! I am excited for you!

Joanne glad Brendan is doing so well! Am praying! It is hard for kids to understand their parents passion at times and hard for parents to understand why kids feel the way they do, when it isn't meant that way.

Elsie so glad you can do those things that need to be done. Sorry Daisy had to stay home but do understand why. My fur babies are laying at my feet sleeping! ;-) They love to be outside together even if it is cold. They sure burn the energy!

Anjay praying the treatments work and you can get to feeling better. This has been such a long tough road for you! I am praying hard! Hope next Dr visit has more comforting news! Hugs and know you are cared about!

Off to get some laundry and dishes done!! Hugs to you all!

So ladies yesterday was not a good day at the Rheumatologist, I had 2 diagnosis, one is treatable well both are in a way. The first diagnosis is Psoriatic Spondloarthropathy Arthritis, which can be treated. The second diagnosis is more serious I have inflammation covering 90% of my body including my lungs, basically my pain has gone wild, which has caused the inflammation which caused the skin psorias which in turn caused the psa. The protein that fights against the inflammation in your body, well my body doesn't produce this anymore so they are going to try and intravenously replace this protein however since the inflammation is acute there is a great chance of my body rejecting the protein so they have to go slow they are looking at doing an IV infusion once a month to start if my body can handle this. If they can control the inflammation they will then treat the psa, but there is no guarantees that this will actually work. So today I am so very upset, I still have my orthpaedic specialist next week, I dread to think whats going to happen there.
Sorry this was so long.

Good Evening,

We have the bitter cold also....currently the temp is 7/-14 C......BRRRRRRRRRR.

I had an appointment to get the oil changed in the van but left Daisy at home-partly because of the cold but mostly because they would be in and out of the van while changing the oil....she didn't like that at all....she loves going every where with me...

Our TOPS meeting in the morning has been cancelled due to the cold temps..

Yes, Joanne, we got the reports done and mailed to the coordinator.

Julie---thanks for the prayer list...you do a wonderful job with it..

Good Wednesday afternoon to all of you. It is a very sunny day here however with a brisk north wind it does not feel warm. Oh well it is, after all, winter in Canada. Just a quick request, if you could say a little prayer for the basketball team that Brendan plays on would do well today. Brendan is NOT a sportsperson but has put himself out there, tried out for the team and made it. However, he is also very hard on himself, if the team does badly he will blame himself and not want to play again. Just as importantly a prayer that Gary, his father who is a sportsperson and going down to see the game, will not offer unsolicited advice after the game. This would not be a good thing as Brendan would not take this as advice but as negative criticism emphasizing the fact that he is not good at what he does. On a positive note, yesterday was his first day back at school after the Christmas break and he was quite excited about it. In fact his words were: "I can't wait to get to school." This from a young man who even last year did not enjoy nor want to go to school. Praise God for that change of attitude.

Anjay nice to read your post. Keeping you in prayer that your results will be positive and give your doctor and yourself a good direction to focus on. Please do keep us updated as to how things go.

Daddy's girl it is quite cold here as well, beautiful sunny day but very cold. Glad that all is going well with the baby. It must be quite the adjustment for both mommy and daddy. I don't blame your son wanting a mechanic he knows to look at his car. It just makes it that much easier. Congratulations on his courting the young lady. What a mature outlook to want to take his time and be finished with his posting and then return home. Your dog sounds like he would be a joy to have (a friend yet protector at the same time). I will have to look up what a Leonberger is as I have never heard of that breed before.

Laura sounds like we are all dealing with the same cold. Oh well, at least the days are getting longer and the sun is out. That most definitely lifts my spirits. Just read the prayer list and will most definitely be praying for your Dil, that she will be strong in the face of all this. Praise God for that good news for your position at the church. God is and will continue to do amazing things through you. Enjoy your trip next week. The only souvenir I will ask for is for you to bring back some heat with you, please.

Julie thanks for posting the prayer list. Your consistency with this project is greatly appreciated. Sorry that you are still having some issues with your internet service. Hopefully they will iron out the bugs soon and you will no longer have any issues. It constantly amazes me that one little change can wreak such havoc. Just glad that you are back with us.

Well ladies time to head out, so keep warm and have a safe afternoon,
emoticon Joanne

All we did was change our TV service. They messed up our internet. Now are phones are having issues. It has been a headache. We just hope they do not mess up our security system too! Yikes! It will be okay! They deducted $22.50 for the time we were without internet. Today, my hubby was on the phone with them and they gave us a $50.00 credit for all of our trouble so that is one nice thing out of everything!
Blessings,
Julie

It is a package deal. We have a bundle of our internet, phones, security system, and television wrapped up in one monthly bill.

1) Please continue to pray for my ds continued healing as he is slowly getting better. He has Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
2) Pray for my dd as they never found out what was wrong with her and now her head feels weird (her words) most of the time. This has caused her to furrow her brows unintentionally often. If you watch her you wonder what is going on. She is now having some other issues.
3) I just do not know what to do or why my children are suffering like this.
Please just pray for us.

Annie (ANNIEMARY5K)
1) Please pray that the Lord brings encouragement to my husband. That the Lord will speak very clearly to us so we know His will for our lives. Is He trying to tell us something? I pray we can hear and know and follow well.

Daddysgirl
1) Please pray for my Ddil as she has to return to work and leaving the baby with us makes her teary. She loves her job and loves work with her DH but it is hard to leave a little one, even if it is with Auntie and Grandma. ;-) Day 2 is done and Ddil is doing well! Thanks for the prayers!
2) DS Fireman is moving and getting settled into his new job this coming few weeks. Pray for strength and safety in travels, please. Move is progressing and he has found a house to rent.
3) Asking the Lord for safety for my children as they walk the path He has directed them to follow.
4) Please pray for my Cousin, Peggy. She is home and on hospice. She seems to be losing the battle with cancer. Her Mom and Dad, Marge and Joe are taking it very hard. She has made it longer than Drs expected twice now. Family are so thankful for each day with her.
5) Thankful for so many wonderful answers to prayers!! God is so good and faithful!!
6) DS Fireman is in a courtship with a young lady he has known 6 yrs Thankful for God's provision of like minded life and soul mates for my children. Pray they will seek Christ first always.

Dorothy (DJ4HEALTH)
1) Please pray for my brothers and sisters and their families to come to Christ and also my parents. On my husband's side the rest of his brothers and sisters and their families to come to Christ too.

Elsie (Saint Bernard6)

Joanne (SUNSHINE1954)
1) Of thanksgiving for all answered prayers
2) For each and everyone of us as we begin a New Year, that with God's help and strength we will continue to support and encourage each other, that those in pain and suffering will feel the loving and healing hand of our Father upon them, for those experiencing financial difficulties that they will feel God's presence as He leads them and helps them rebuild financially
3) For Fran, Gary and Twyla's salvation as well as Brendan continuing in his spiritual growth.
4) For Gary that God will lead a strong young Christian man into Gary's company and that this employee (whoever he may be) will be used by God to lead Gary to accept Christ as his Saviour.
5) For Brendan that he will continue to enjoy his school and continue to grow the friendships he has developed, that the friends he has made will remain at the school throughout all of their high school day thus showing Brendan that lasting friendships can be made something he has yet to experience in his life.

1) Pray for safety of our DIL as they start the jury selection case of the Tsaranev trial on January 5th. She works at the court house and will actually see this man every day as he passes through. Actually pray that ALL goes well with the entire process, for the jurors to be selected, for news media (which is a zoo) and for justice to be served - trial expected to last until May/June once the jury gets seated
2) Pray for our upcoming Winter Bible Camp - WBC which is from February 17th to 20th. We have 4 kids registered already and know we will get more as we get close. Pray that God sends the children, pray for the volunteer team and a Senior in high school who will be leading the lessons - THE FIRST TIME ever for her to take the curriculum and develop it her own way! Praise God for this too!
3) Pray for our family - we head to Hawaii on the 13th! Two different flights but we are staying at the same hotel - our son and DIL and our Dad and us! Pray for safety, health and good weather. Pray that this will be a meaningful time and bonding time for ALL plus that we continue to plant the seeds God gives us
4) Pray for the church budget meeting and then the church annual meeting - some programs are being eliminated that have not been effective as Children's Ministry and that money is being moved to fund my position
5) Pray for our world and especially those girls who were kidnapped by the Muslim war lord almost a year ago - pray that God would soften his heart and let the girls go.
6) Pray for all the members of our team as we deal with the daily stress of our lives and try to eat healthier and be healthier
7) PRAISE that we have this team to confide in, talk to, vent with and PRAISE GOD with!

Due to a mistake on the part of my internet service, we were without internet for a week. We are back now but seem to keep having issues with various things.
I am going to post a list in a few minutes and then I will post a new list on Sunday evening. (So, to make sure you understand, only today I am posting a list since I had several requests over the weekend. Sunday, it will go back to normal.)
Blessings,
Julie

Hi all

It is FREEZING COLD here in Boston and tomorrow is going to be worse! Poor Linus puppy dog is upset he is NOT gong out for his long walks but it is JUST too cold for all. I did romp out in the yard with him.

Dear DIL is working very long long hours at work - she has been eyeball to eyeball with the face of evil as the jury selection continues for the trial. I will leave it at that but this trial is in the news so I am sure you all know what I am talking about

This time next week we will be hopefully asleep in our hotel rooms in Waikiki!! We leave in less than a week

Great news from the Christian Ed board last night - when the donor withdrew their last $5,000 other donors donated $8,000 towards my salary so I do have a job as I said till 12/31 but it has to go before the church for a vote

Hugs to all

Laura

Hi All,
Well is is January and we all seem to have that same old cold to deal with. Have to bundle the baby up very warmly to go grocery shopping today. The sky is crystal clear blue which means the temps will drop more tonight if no clouds appear.
All is going well with keeping the baby. He is so good and so sweet! He takes the bottle well and still sleeps a lot. Mommy is adjusting too but so glad to get home to him at night! ;-)

Elsie I have some end of the year work to do too. Yuck!! ;-)

Joanne thanks for asking. DS did get to his new area and rented a house and was able to unload and return the U-haul truck. Then he came back here for a few days. He needs to get some car work done and wants to use a mechanic he already knows and trusts.
His big news now is he is courting a young lady he has known for 6 yrs. He wants a long courtship so he can be done with this required year in a new part of the country and move back to the area he loves. ;-)
My dog is a real mix. His Mom is half Leonberger/Golden Retriever and Dad was a fence jumper but they think he was half Boxer/golden Lab. We do see some of each of those in him. He is taller and more muscular than the German Shepherd. He is sweet and gentle but a very deep bark and strong family protector. Just what we had prayed for. If you don't know what a Leonberger is look it up on the internet, quite a large dog!! ;-)

Anjay so praying you have good reports and can keep a focus on being the best you can be with the least amount of pain. Hugs to you!!

Hope everyone has a great day!

My left hip as been great recently no pain and no stumbling when I get ready to stand or walk so giving thanks there. Then I have my orthopaedic specialist next week, so will find out about my wrist. I have changed my word to focus for the year as I think it has a better fit.

Good Monday evening early Tuesday morning for some of you. Today was a very cold and blustery day here but the sun was out so that made up for it. We had our first yearly weigh-in at TOPS today. I am pleased to say that I am down 2 pounds since our last weigh-in in December. In fact we had a KOPS for the Holidays challenge and all members who stayed within the top leeway (3 pounds above the starting weight of the challenge0 would have their dues paid for January. Those of us who were below goal (below our starting weight) would receive $10. I am pleased to say that I received that $10 and had it put towards my dues. All in all it felt great not gaining any weight over the holidays.

Elsie it sounds like your weather is just like ours. Are we neighbours? Your puppy sounds like a lot of fun and energy. That is the beauty of dogs isn't it? They love you no matter what (except of course if you abuse them) and there is nothing like seeing the dog's tail wagging and jumping up when they see you come home. Must be why I love dog sitting Starr so much. She loves me unconditionally. I hear you about the TOPS reports they are quite lengthy to prepare aren't they? However, when we really look at them they can provide us with a lot of information to make serious positive changes. Good luck with them. Are you almost finished?

Daddy's girl, how goes the baby sitting for your DGS? How was mom's first day back at work? Glad to hear that the dogs get along so well. It must be quite a relief for her knowing her son is with grand maman (French for grand mother) and so well loved. I am sure the your DH is in heaven watching over this beautiful little boy and he along with his cousins are watching over your DGS. What kind of dog do you have? Did your DS get away today?

Julie, Ali, Anjay, Laura, His Own and anyone else I may have forgotten hope you are all okay and having a great time. We miss you all.

Well it is time for bed for this young lady. Take care my friends and God bless,
emoticon Joanne

Hello Friends,
It is almost bedtime but want to stop in and say Hi! Tomorrow surely will be a busy day! LOL Ddil is having a hard time. She loves her job and works with her DH (my DS #3) in the same department. She doesn't want to leave the baby and I totally understand that. I am glad he can be with us so she doesn't have to worry about his care. We love him almost as much as she does. ;-) He will be a joy to us and give us such a happy reason to get up each day. :-) Just wish DH could be here to enjoy him with us, but God's plan is best so I try to remember that and know he is loving our 2 Grandbabies that have gone on before us. DS #1 and Ddil #1 are the parents. They continue to have empty arms but love many children along this journey until they can be with their own babies. They are a blessing to all they meet. I love to see them hold their new little nephew. They enjoy it so much!

Joanne - DS #2 named his German Shepherd, Benelli. She is sweet and gentle and so full of energy. DS was only gone with her for about 5 hrs yesterday. They are both back with me and the 2 dogs were so glad to be together again. They both seemed to adjust to not being together yesterday for some of the day so that is a good thing!!
Thanks for sharing about the plates and glasses!! ;-) I will have to remember that. I try to drink water mostly so go for larger glasses to drink more water! I know I should drink more than I normally do especially in colder weather. I am learning to keep the tea kettle warm and add it to the water so it isn't as cold. ;-)

Blessings to you all! Julie Hope your internet is back up soon!

My week end was wonderful.

Becka is doing well. We still don't have a definite due date.

Thanks Daddy's Girl for relaying Julie's message.

Take care....Elsie

Good Sunday evening to all of you. Not much happening here today. It is cold and humid with big, fluffy, snowflakes falling. Very beautiful to see but not fun to walk or drive in. Just finished listening to Dateline ABC it was quite interesting. It was about food, buffets, and drinking and how to make small but healthy changes. To cut calories they made the following suggestions: food they suggest smaller plates 9 inches or less, drinks tall and narrow (think highball glass) as opposed to short and wide glasses. Apparently we will pour to the same height so the glass which is wider takes in more liquid therefore more calories. Placing healthy food choices first will cut down on piling on the less healthy food choices.

Daddy's girl glad you got all that rain and that you were excited about it. What fun you will have watching that dear little one. To be near and be able to help out is a godsend to your ds and your ddil of that I am sure. That german shepherd puppy sounds like she would be a lot of fun. What is her name? How was your visit to the gardens with the music boxes. Funny how dogs miss each other and it doesn't take long for them to bond with each other. How is your dear puppy adjusting? Thanks for letting us know about the prayer list. I hope Julie gets her internet back soon.

Angela nice to see your post. Welcome to the team. You will find that we are very supportive and encouraging of each other. I look forward to getting to know you better. Come by often.

Laura baked oatmeal sounds delicious. I don't think I have a recipe for that one. Where did you get it? You must be quite excited about your trip especially if your closet is already packed. I would never have thought of doing that before packing my suitcase. I will have to remember that the next time I take a trip. Where exactly in Hawaii are you going? Glad you have good neighbors who will be on the lookout for your home while you are gone.

Elsie your new puppy sounds quite active and enthusiastic. What breed is Daisy? How did your weekend go? It must have been very quiet. How is Becka's pregnancy coming along?

Well ladies time to get supper ready. Take care everyone and have a great evening,
emoticon Joanne

Elsie great devotional!!

Prayer list won't be done on the normal weekly basis. Julie texted me and asked me to post to tell you all she is without internet. It has been down most of the week. She is sorry but will work on it after her internet is up again.

Hugs to you all!
