Good evening everyone, Hope you have had a good time this week. The last two days were a mess. Monday we took the mattress off the bed just in case my son and I had to get under it. My husband was called out to the office of emergency management office just in case of tripping the sirens. We lucked out this time. Then yesterday was another rainy day.
I have almost lost another pound.
Hope you are having a better day than I am having. I was talking to my 13 year old son about his upcoming summer bowling league and how much he will have to pay for the month. He told me that he didn't have the money that someone had broken into his locker and stolen the money out of his wallet. I told him without the money he will not be able to bowl this summer. I told him that we will go and see the principal in the morning and see if the incident was caught on camera. Robert said that he lied about that and spent the money on a ds game. I took him back down to the store and received a refund. Robert then said that he wanted a coke. I told him no not until he pays his bills. He said that I will be broke then. Robert welcome to the real world.
Hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

Elsie, glad things have calmed down. But I am sure that some of the people affected are not in great shape right now. If it were me, I'd move - but that's just me.

Thanked God this morning for waking up to a much calmer day. Mostly sun today with some clouds and NO rain.
Still nagging God to wrap His loving arms of comfort around all those affected by any of the tornados especially those in Oklahoma.
Doing laundry now and will be going to work at the church this evening. I have several books to process and cover. Praise God for all the recent donations to our library.
There is a memorial service this afternoon in Joplin at the time the tornado hit. Today is the 2nd anniversary of this tornado. I am about 20 minutes from where the tornado went through 2 years ago. It did pass over my house but didn't touch down.

Back to the gym today. Really don't have much energy when I get home from work. Trying to eat good dinners and off coffee again as I find it saps my energy. Perhaps I expect too much from myself. Welcome to the newcomers and those returning. Prayers for all those in Oklahoma

I was wrong about Sunday night. It wasn't just a wild wind storm with pounding rain, it was a small tornado. It took down some buildings and trees about 4 miles from here. Most of the house damage was from falling trees. It was an EF1 tornado which is the lowest level of tornados.
We were under tornado warning last night for about 2 hours. None materialized but we did get some heavy rains. 30% chance of thunderstorms today and tonight.
Looks like the sun is peeking through the clouds at the moment.
No special plans for today. Have pineapple chicken in the crock pot and cooking spinach noodles to go with it.

updates on what is happening in our lives in Boston
Yes - we have our adopt a boxer - drove 6 hours as I said to get him - Linus. A sweet dog who wa really abused. I cry every time someone goes to reach in a certain to pay him he cringes and cowers. He was beaten - the other adopted home also had a female boxer who just bit him - the woman was wonderful and paid to have his bad teeth out - I was heartbroken for her that she needed to give him up BUT it was for the safety of both dogs. He is adapting quite well. I took him for his FIRST trip to the beach here where i live. It was so funny to watch him with the waves. I praise God for that time because not only did i get exercise it gave me time to pray for the people who run this program. Tomorrow we go to the Vet to have him checked over and of course neither my son or his fiancee have enough $$ to pay for things at the moment so NOW we have a running IOU for dog costs and have been promised they will pay us back or we can take it from their wedding savings (thanks to my budget they have almost the entire cost of the wedding saved) so we will help them through this patch - WHAT ARE FAMILIES FOR!!
The fallout from my little spill or fall in the yard is that I know I have really done some damage again to my LCL ligaments and the IT bands on the outside of the knee - rolling over the ankle just reinjured an old injury as well so when I see the doctor in a few week I will ask to see the specialist BUT if he wants me to have PT I am afraid with the new health care changes in our plan - it will cost be over $400 a month SOOO that is pretty hefty. What I hate even though we pay our insurance premiums of $7000 a year and we do pay less payroll taxes you still need t have 10% of your adjusted gross income before you can deduct anything - I joke about it all the time but it really is NOT a joke. After you deduct health care, payroll taxes, etc I PRAISE GOD for this we do well on what we have - it takes care of basic needs - just at times it is hard to pay so much and get so little back - OH WELL Also Praising God that i will be 59 1/2 NEXT MONTH and the importance of this MEANS I can withdraw from retirement without a 10% IRS TAX penalty so I have money sitting in my cash fund waiting for that - makes me think I can just ay if i have PT - bill me! See God has it figured out
GOD HAS A PLAN and I Do Not Fear!
Not sure on where the "children's ministry" position stands and I have asked several questions and brought up several points to the head of our CE board who keeps answering the ???'s and God seems to be removing the obstacles I see.
this friday/Saturday and Sunday my DH and I will be demoing (construction term for tearing apart) the front stairs of my Dad's and our houses! Please pray for great weather! We think we can do it in two days depending on our stamina - Praising God that all we have to do is replace the wood for the stairs and treads!!
Wedding plans are moving right along and we currently have 6 coming from Ireland and england!
HUGS again to the team

Good Tuesday afternoon team
Praying for all the areas hit by the tornadoes - we here in Boston were told we will not be immune either from storms like this - we had one rip through our state a couple of years ago.
Not to get on my pulpit here BUT our nation has gone so far away from the Lord it is times like these that make you realize as we ALL OUR DOING praying for our unsaved family members and praying for those who do not know the Lord because with these troubling times and storms we can PRAISE GOD for our salvation and KNOW HE is in charge and things happen for many reasons - wonder if our nation just needs to FALL ON IT'S KNEES and acknowledge Him. For sure most of our leaders DO NOT!!
I AM DONE NOW - thanks for the time in the pulpit
We have a long weekend here too YES it is Memorial Day.
Born praying for all the changes coming to your life PRAISING GOD for HIS AWESOME PLAN yet to be revealed to you and your family - when we let GO and LET HIM it makes it easier yet at times we feel like we are in a free fall or as I call it "THE TRAPEZE MOMENT" you are on the trapeze now and you will either SOAR or HE will catch you EIther WAY HE HAS GOT YOU COVERED
I live by that EVEN more so since I lost my job 12/10/2010 and all that has happened since then - I love our Sunday School study of Genesis - God told Abraham in Genesis 15:1 Do not be afraid Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward," So I put my name in parentheses in my Bible "Do not fear Laura. I am your shield, your very great reward." SO just want to encourage you all as we go through our trials and issues of life REMEMBER that.
MUCH LOVE, HUGS and BLESSINGS TO ALL

Not much to say but that today was a nice day and things are winding down with my job. 2 and half days. It will seem weird not working there any more. I will really miss the kids and my coworkers. I had such a great bunch of people to work with. I feel sad for that part as I will need to start over again. Oh well, God will put new people in my path. Praying I will be blessed with caring coworkers again. It will be hard to find that. Elsie we missed the bad weather too and yes another round is supposed to come through tonight. I pray its not bad. I will take the rain to keep my grass green, just dont want bad storms that will damage things. Praying for those in OK. They had some bad tornadoes yesterday.
Thanks Joanne for posting the prayer list. Keeping you all in prayer.

Thanks, Joanne, for the updated prayer list.
Yes, my planters got moved and the plants are now in dirt instead of those little black things from the store.
We had some very wicked storms during the night....wild roof rattling wind and pounding down rain doesn't make for a good night's sleep....more are expected this afternoon and during the night. We are in the stormy season. So far no tornados here that I know of. The power flickered but didn't stay off.

That is the hardest part for me. 4) Praying God is preparing my heart and mind for the next job He will guide me to that I can enjoy and bring glory back to Him. 5) Praying for my cousins who lost their mom yesterday. She was my aunt but my uncle on our side of the family divorced her decades ago. 6) Prayers for our country and that hearts and minds will be settled to better things.
Chasity (ISAVEDME80) 1) I ask that you pray for my family. Tomorrow is the 2 year passing of my mom and it is still very painful for all of us. I appreciate it very much. Elsie (Saint Bernard6)
1) Prayers for granddaughter Vicky as she has decompensated since Bruce is back 2) Prayers grandson Bruce...he got dismissed from Job Corps due to unsavory behavior and is now back here. Valerie is looking for a place for him as his behavior is beyond her control. He has very violent outbursts and destroys everything she has. He is non accepting of their situation and blames Valerie (his mom) for all the problems. He is 16 and refuses to take meds or allow counselling to help him. He goes to counselling but knows how to give them the answers they want to hear. All he wants to do is hang around another grandson who isn't a good influence at all. Bruce makes really bad decisions and choices. We are afraid he will end up in the legal system. He does lie and steal so we have to be very careful around him. 3) Prayers for Valerie---as she begins a new job 4) Prayers for Becka as she returns to school this week
PRAISE:Valerie has been hired at the place where she wanted to work. They created a position for her
Irene (DIDMIS) 1) PRAISE - House is in order, Have downsized some, Air conditioner fixed, new water heater in, new carpet in the whole house, and car home. 2) Praise that I am so much better. The knee is stiff now so pray that I can push through the stiffness and get my thigh muscle stretched like it needs to be. It s fighting me on this. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Laura (His Own)
1. Please pray for discernment as it seems that several members of our congregation and the head of our Christian Education board feel that I am the person for the new Children's ministry position that is being created by a donor. Please pray that our son and his fiancee call someone in the clergy to marry them. They now have the names and phone numbers of people who are wonderful ministers who know my son and one that does not 4. Please continue to pray for our lovely City of Boston as we move on from the Marathon Bombings and the many victims still in the hospital 5. Please pray for all our spark friends who are have unspoken prayer requests. 6. PRAISE GOD FOR A TEAM THAT PRAYS TOGETHER!!!
Linnie (SASIKHASI1) 1) Please continue to pray for my kids. They are doing better but still need your prayers. 2) Please pray for my home situation, that things improve with my husband, that he stop being nasty and mean spirited.
Sharon (GINGERPAWZ) 1) Please pray for my son. My husband brought home a bug last week from school and then my son caught it this week. Roberts temp has been fluctuating from 102.2 to 98. It seems that when I think that I can have some sleep time. His temp goes back up in 3 hours. Robert has finally fallen asleep. We will see how day two goes. What a way to spend spring break. I was told by the pharmacist that the cold could last 6 weeks. 2)Please pray that it won't last that long and that Robert can go back to school next week. Roberts birthday bowling party is this Saturday. He has been looking forward to hanging out with his friends. We only have three weeks of school left and needs to be able to finish 7th grade. 3)Please pray for a 7 year old Emma in our community. She has a lump on the brain and found that out after doing a cat scan. She was having a hard time seeing. The eye specialist came in and looked at her. Every thing is fine there. They are going to do another MRI tomorrow and compare the two. Her mom is an old high school friend of mine. 4)Please pray for a friend of mine. He was laid off of the job he had. Now he is putting in applications everywhere hoping to get a good job. 5) Praise Dad's arm has finally healed enough for him to go back to work.

Good Sunday evening to all of you. It was a beautiful sunny and warm day here again. Hope everyone had a great day.
Anjay, how are you doing? How is the new eating plan?
Elsie did you manage to get your mowing finished? We have also had a beautiful sunny day, they are calling for rain tomorrow but it is needed so the plants can grow. Did you move your planters as you had planned? There is nothing like good homegrown tomatoes and peppers. They are so delicious.
Momto5, how did your son's cub scout meeting go? Did he enjoy the chicks?
Honouria, how are you doing?
Keeping all others in prayers. Hope you are all doing well.
Have a blessed night everyone, Joanne

Once again God has gifted us with a wonderful sunny breezy day.
After Bible study this evening, I plan on moving my big planers from the front of my house to the back where I can plant my tomato and pepper plants in them. This will put them in the morning sun instead of the hot afternoon sun plus I will remember to water them.

SUNSHINE: Yep... You could say they keep me on my toes. My son has a cub scout meeting today at the farm. He is super excited. The boys a year older than his age group hatched eggs in home made incubators and they are releasing them today.

Hi everyone, it is Saturday already. Yikes time flies! Should you have any new or updated prayer requests or praises please private message them to me and I will post an updated list on Sunday.
I have read your posts and know that I keep you all in prayer even when I do not post. I never thought a part time job could change my schedule so drastically but it does.
Daddy's girl to answer your question you are still a very dear friend. I am sure we all understand how hectic things are for you right now. So come and post when you can and don't fret about it. As for having a house of my own, that is something I left in God's hands a long time ago. I have a home, in my apartment, am closer to family and that is what is important to me. Everything else is just icing on the cake a tribute of God's goodness.
Irene congratulations on the new car. I have never driven a Venza but I hear very good things about it. I hear you about the sleep patterns as well, I have experienced that in the past.
Julie, you can do this. With God's strength you can bend that knee with no fear. I am convinced that He will heal you 100% and that you will regain complete ant total use of the knee.
Born it must be a bitter sweet time for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am confident that God will lead the right people to the home you have created just for them. I pray that you will find the house and the job that God has intended for you and that it won't take a long time to do so.
Anjay, how are you doing? I hope you are feeling a little better than yesterday. I must go read your blog (after work).
Laura your life just keeps getting more and more happening. Glad to hear that the wedding plans are coming along. Sorry to hear that you will not be getting Bubba but will pray that Linus works out for you. Sorry to hear about your ankle. How is it doing? How did the insurance claims go for your dad? Have you made a decision yet on the position at your church?
Elsie I am sorry to hear that you gained this week. I am sure that you will be down next week. Salt does that to me as well. What a great praise report on the job, now I can't remember if it was Vicki or Valerie, it must be such a relief.
To all the new members welcome. You will find us to be a very supportive and encouraging group. Even when you disappear, as I do quite often lately, they welcome you back with open arms. Momto5monkies, what an original name. I am sure they keep you hopping.
To all the others we have not heard from in awhile, I pray you are all okay. Please let us know how you are doing. Keeping you all in prayer.
Now off to work I go, take care and have a blessed afternoon, Joanne

So I've wandered over back to this group. I got away from Sparkpeople in the past months and joined this group a long time ago, but really never got really into it. So decided to jump on this page randomly! Hope everybody has a blessed weekend!

Good morninging everyone, Hope that everyone had a good day yesterday. I dropped my son (Robert) off at school and then went over to the fitness center for my morning workout. Spent 95 minutes working out and listening to the personal trainer work a couple of ladies. She told me that she couldn't help me today because she has to get the church ready for her son's wedding the next day. I told her that was okay that I would just do what we did yesterday. But I also saw that as I was walking out of the fitness center one hour later that she was with another client.
I returned to the school and found out that a lot of kids were being picked up 2 hours early. The nurse asked me if I have had chicken pox or the shingles. I told her yes to both. I asked why the school is sending some of the kids home early. She said that one of the teachers have come into contact with the shingles. We are sending home the kids that hasn't received the shot for the chicken pox.
So I am glad that the day is over with and get ready for a early morning. My son is going with the beginning band to silver dollar city for their end of the year band trip.
I hope everyone has a good time today with whatever you do.

Laura - I am just getting caught up on posts! So, I just saw your post about falling! Ouch! So sorry about that. Glad you are feeling better.
I had therapy this afternoon. I did good yesterday but today I was super stiff. My knee was not very cooperative when I first got there but I ended up doing pretty good. I got to 122° on my own along with a few tears. I am really going to have to push myself this weekend because I won't have therapy again until Monday so I really need to push through any discomfort and pain. I can do it. The therapist told me that the third day from the manipulation is the harder. That is when the feeling is all back and the leg is stiff. So, I can do this! I just need to keep telling myself that!
I better scoot! Blessings, Julie

Thank you Born. I felt better once I got up today and got moving. My blog explains my good news yesterday and why I was so tired and painful.

HONOURIA the reason I sleep in shifts is because my bones hurt if I stay in bed too long. Last night I woke up twice really hurting but it was because I had walked so much hunting the car, etc and was so tired. My blog explains more on that.

Wow havent been on forever it seems. I just read some posts to try and catch up. Laura you are an eventful woman. LOL!!! Glad you are doing better. Getting closer to that wedding time. I bet that is exciting.
Elsie did you say God was going to pay all your bills? Can he pay mine to? LOL Made me laugh. Glad to hear Valerie got that job. That is a good praise indeed.
Julie hope the healing goes well but it will be slow. My husband had less done then you and his leg is still healing. Its doing better. He can walk on it but he limps a lot. Starting to do better since therapy.
Irene hope you are doing better too.
We just put up the for sale sign, coming soon in our yard. Two weeks and we will start showing. It looks great and I prepared a nice home for the future owner. I hope they appreciate the hard work we did. I also pray that God provides in making the sale a good one. We went and looked at four homes for sale for comps to price ours and they were more. They personally were poorly taken care of. I am shocked that people take so little care of their homes. I know sometimes people cant afford to keep up, but some of it was just the way they even looked to show. Wow is all I could say. My mom taught us to keep things clean and to take care of things growing up and I still do that. I really felt God told me to prepare a home for the next person and He would provide the sale we need. So with lots of hard work for months, we are close to ready. It comes with a huge lesson in learning to LET GO AND LET GOD!!! I am working on it, but can say at times it feels bitter sweet. Overall, I pray God keeps directing us.
Down to 3 and half days of school left and closing a chapter of seven years working in a district I really enjoyed. I am so sad that I have to leave and not sure what I will do next. Once again I am practicing being patient and letting God direct me. This has been quite the last year of changes and challenges and I am still in one piece but hope to see how these changes bloom to new beginnings for me and my family.
Hope you all have a good weekend. Praying for those in Texas who lost loved ones and homes. May people be gracious reaching out to them and keeping the cons away from them as they move forward and heal from this.

After a gloomy start to the morning, the sun is coming out. Enjoyed plenty of bird singing this morning.
I did get some mowing done yesterday before more rain started and I had to go to mental health class. I plan on doing more mowing this afternoon and probably weed whacking tomorrow.
My weigh was up 2/10th pound yesterday at weigh in----probably because I didn't sleep well Wednesday night plus I ate twice at the hospital and their turkey was very salty to me. Wednesday was one of my afternoons to work at the hospital.
A VERY BIG PRAISE!!!!! Valerie got hired in at the company she wanted to work for. She is so excited.....Praise God for His granting this prayer wish.....Now Lord if You would just pay all my bills...........hehehe
Laura..praise God your soreness is less today...sounds like the wedding plans are falling into place nicely..
Julie..........praise God for the improvement
Irene.....sounds like God has provided the best car for you.......now if He would just send me a mini-van.......lol

Morning team
Feeling better today too - still have a few muscles when I move that let me know they are sore BUT yesterday I did overwork some because with the high winds yesterday we lost 2 limbs from the tree. Not huge ones but ones that had to be cut up etc. Thank God no one was under them when they came down BUT we were in the yard working when the did.
Colie got the tarp off the yard furniture and started power washing the back terrace and I came out with my cleaning stuff then after he power washed the chairs I cleaned with a cleaner and they look great! Also got the swing up and running. Washed the chairs too for my Dad's deck and we sat on the deck when we were through - tons of cardio there yesterday without walking .
My knee and ankle are working with little to no pain Thank God and all I took last night was some tylenol and a flexural so I am bit groggy today.
Only thing on the schedule it to plant the rest of the tomato plants, some more cucumbers and I think we might plant the squash I have that growing in a window and it is doing very well.
Dinner is on Dad tonight and I think he was thinking pizza and that is fine with me.
OK NEWS ON THE DOG!!
Well Bubba Gump who we really wanted does have glaucoma and the Vet school at Univ of Pennsylvania has been treating him - their vet talked to Ross and he talked to the Adopt a Boxer Rescue - we will not get Bubba because the Vet school will treat him for free and he needs to be checked every 3 months - they have found a family who has had a blind dog before and they will adopt him - OK A collective sigh here!! BUT BUT BUT do not despair they have another dog who is just 4 years old his name is Linus - he was placed up for adoption but the home where he is the female boxer is beating him up so they are removing Linus from that house and sending him - they WILL transport him to us and let us know when - so that is where we are at.
WEDDING NEWS
Next month we go to the venue with Christina and her Mom (Colie and I are off that day) to go over details plus we are giving the last payment of our Christmas present to them which was $1,000 on the wedding. They are just about at their budget and I am going to see if we can charge EVERYTHING (looking for those credit card points for sure!!) The guys need to get their tuxes but looks like things are moving along - I need to send out the invites for the rehearsal dinner at some point BUT I need a final count a week before.
Bit cool outside this AM I had windows open and it was refreshing - think I might head up to the store where I won $500 on a gift card to see what I can buy!!!
ENJOY THE DAY ALL HUGS and BLESSINGS TO ALL OF YOU

Warm day here, but not quite as high as it has been. I did my exercises and feel the need for a nap. I don't know what is going on with me lately, but I've had a need for sleep at the strangest times. Hope it is just the weather.
I'll stop by the doc office tomorrow to get a lab slip for bloodwork and get a weigh in.

Hello! Not posted for a wile. I Was able to stay a few day with daughter & family. Wonderful time with all the family! We had a great holiday & cerebration. No computer there so no Spark. Hubby & I put in some more garden as well. When we got home I was so delighted at the birds. My Hubby and I feel it is a kind of birds sanctuary. We have been many places but few have the wonder of so many beautiful birds year round. We are indeed blessed. God is so good. Hope all had a great holiday. I have a praise. My right leg was not working well. Hard time walking but it is much improved. I praise the Lord. I did not stay on my diet as well as I should have but each day is a new beginning.

Good Evening Dear Friends, We are in the 2nd "wave" of thunderstorms tonight. If anyone heard we had tornadoes in the are, we did, but thankfully not that close to us. The Lord is protecting us and keeping us in His care. DSs are ham radio operators and storm spotters too (not storm chasers) lol.
Laura so sorry about your fall. So glad DH was there with you. Great for knowing what to do for your knee and BP. Hope you see great improvement each day.
Honouria fun to get new clothes!!
Julie so thankful your procedure was successful! Praying healing will come quickly now! Hugs!!!
Anjay praying you have a good night's rest!
Sharon how sweet of DH to take you out to dinner. DH and I were mistaken as siblings when we were younger. lol
Elsie hope you get some good rest and that you have a good weigh in too!!

Today went good. Hung out with friends while working out. It makes 90 minutes go by fast. My husband took me out for a late Mother's Day dinner. My son got a laugh at the waitress. She thought that I was my husband's sister. After I told her that I was not Steve's sister but am his wife, she apologized for the mixed up.

Welcome to our group Honouria! This is a wonderful group!
I had the knee manipulation this morning. I had to be at the hospital at 5:00 and they did it around seven. There was some scar tissue that he had to break up. They injected steroids after to help with inflammation. They gave me a nerve block in my thigh like they did the surgery six weeks ago. Feeling can return anywhere from 12 to 72 hours which seems like a wide range. The feeling is not there now.
After we left the hospital I went to therapy after picking up the boys from their aunt's house and getting the medicine filled. I will be on pain meds for a few days at least. Okay, here is the exciting news - on my own I was able to bend my knee to 115° and with the help of the therapist we got it to 135°! Whoohoo. It is going to be a long road but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you, Jesus and thank you for all your prayers!
As long as the block is still working, I am not suppose to put any weight on that leg. It will give out. Found out the hard way at therapy. I accidentally stepped down on it and down I went but my therapist caught me. I can not feel anything in my thigh. I did feel some pain at therapy so apparently it did not cover everything. That is okay and I will have to push through that to get my freedom back. I will take a pain med this evening to stay on top of things. We were hearing loud pops in my leg today and that is the muscles or ligaments stretching.
It feels so good to sit in a chair and my leg falls down even with the other! Whoohoo!
I better scoot. Just wanted to update you all and ask for continued prayers. Blessings, Julie

Well I had a major turn of events last night at our house
As we were gardening and putting up the netting to keep the squirrels out - my neighbor feeds them and they dig up my garden badly and eat the green tomatoes etc thus we hang bird netting up and anchor it down all around the yard. SOOOOOO all the stakes were in and Colie and I were hanging the netting over it BUT I was on my tippy toes on a garden railroad tie which was rotted out in a spot so it decided it was time to call it quits! Called it QUITS with ME ON IT!! I tried to grab one of the stakes to keep me from heading down to the ground to break the fall which I did but that has my neck, shoulders and arm a mess - NEVER mind the excruciating pain of my ankle rolling over one way and my knee the other. I just laid on the ground and tried to catch my breath from the pain! Obviously I would have gone to the ER if I thought something was broken - iced the knee, took ibuprofen, flexeril and then pain med when I went to bed - woke up this morning feeling awful - my BP was 160/96 at first so I called my doctor - while I was waiting for a call back it the BP started to come down. Heard from my doctor and he decided the shock from the pain and all probably drove my BP up and he increased my medication up a tad and I took it about 20 minutes later not even sure if the medicine would work that fast BUT my BP back to running low normal 105/65 - going to go ice the knee again - I am pretty sure I did a number to the IT bands and ligaments - I am limping which is throwing me off all together -
OH WELL guess my walks at night will be put on hold for a couple of nights at least - will keep an eye on the BP for sure and I see my doctor in 2 weeks anyhow

Hello Dear Friends, Cheryl praying your DS will find work and housing soon. So sorry this is such a challenge. He is blessed with a Godly Mom who knows how to pray!
Anjay what a journey. Looks like you had fun all except the 5 hitch hikers!! ;-)
Sharon how old is Robert? I was thinking about 13. Sorry he is having "girlfriend" problems so early. Glad you had a nice Mother's Day even when this is the first without your own Mom. These holidays are so tough. Hugs to you!!
I exercised today and so far have eaten well. I have got to get these scales moving downward again. I have a promise to keep to DH and my children.

Good evening everyone, Mothers day went as well as to be expected. This is the first Mothers day since my mom passed away. After church my awesome son took me out for lunch. Monday night I attended my son's choir concert and it was good. It would have been better if the choir director had remembered to turn on the microphones. It was noticed at intermission and was turned on. After the concert my son and I went out for a couple of coke zeroes.
Today went good. So far I have been good at making all my appointments this week with the personal trainer. I am feeling better and not craving any junk food . My son came to me and asked why is it called a lifestyle change when you don't change anything. And why do you weigh and measure everything. I told Robert that I weigh food and measure drinks so that I know how much I have taken in. Robert asked if there is a web site for teens. I told him yes Spark teen. So I think that Robert is going to sign up tonight. He is a little upset because his girl dumped him because Robert is on the heavy side. So I am trying to teach Robert how to know how much you take in in a month without keeping track of it.
I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do today.

hi all, a quick update on my son who is traveling across country up to ND for a job in the oil fields. Got a message from him on Mother's Day that they arrived safely but are not finding housing or even camp grounds available up to more than 100 miles away from the jobsite. They are to be checking in with someone whom they have connections with to see about work, and possible housing. The word is nothing available for housing so far. No mancamps, no motels, everything full. Not sure where they are but he mentioned that they are staying in a tent and sleeping bags so far. Please pray that they find something soon. The weather can be sooo changable up there even at this time of year. thanks, hugs, Cheryl

Daddy's Girl--------so proud to call you "friend"....over 16,000 of the 35,000 photos have been returned. My Mother's Day was great. We went down to Maria's for sandwiches and then they had a small cake for me. Valerie wrote a beautiful poem for me--it brought tears to our eyes. Tammy and family couldn't come due to work schedules/Son and daughter in law sent me a beautiful card. We were able to be outside until some sprinkles hit.
Today has been an accomplishment day---got the oil changed in the truck and finished the first mowing of all the yards. Plan on mowing again Friday as I had to use the highest setting due to the height of the grass/weeds. Still have lots of weed whacking to do.
Getting plenty of outside time..............Elsie

Hello My Friends - do you still call me friend? I am gone so often! I am sorry I have a hard time staying caught up. DD and I have had 2 littles again for 2 weeks. Hopefully my DDil's Dad will get home from the hosp this week and our babysitting duty will be done. She has stayed with her mom so her Mom has a way back and forth to the hospital. We are all exhausted! I am having a relaxing day but a day that the grief is difficult too. Spring has so many family holidays in it for my family! Being tired makes it harder to stay on top of things emotionally too.
Irene I am glad you live in dry territory too. Hope your knee won't bother you too much or too often!! So glad you are able to walk outside and can manage some without a walker or a cane!!
Joanne don't try to out guess God! He could provide you with another home in a way you could never imagine! He is so good!! Very sweet of Brendan to recognize your sacrifice of love for him!
Laura sounds like you need a complete staff to do all the activities you want to do and to do them properly and still have time to sleep!! Glad you were able to get the dress for DS's wedding so easily and it looks beautiful!!
Anjay such a sweet photo!! It makes me smile each time I see it!!
Richeryl praying for DSs safety and the safety of his family while he is gone! Has your son arrived or found housing yet? If all goes well, will his family move to be with him? Praying too!
SAS glad some things are improving some!!
Elsie sure wish you could push some of that rain our way! You are going to live in a rain forest before you can get your mowing done! How was your Mother's Day? Congrats on the lbs dropped!! Hope many photos were returned! Such a sweet gift of your time to help others!!
Honouria glad you stopped by and posted! Hope you will post again often.
Julie so glad your family is close enough to spend important days with and your boys know and love your family as you do!
Hope you all have a wonderful night's sleep. I am glad DD and I are having some down time to catch up on our rest and chores at home.
Hugs and blessings to you all! Daddy'sGirl

Good Sunday evening. Here is the updated prayer list. If you should have any changes during the week, simply private message me and I will update the list.
Ali (1Wife2Mom) 1) PRAISE, my do elbow is healed. Pray for his wrist which is at about 95% and at a point where he will have to exercise it and work through this. 2) Pray for us to find a new church and that we will all be in agreement. Pray for all involved to find peace and a new place of worship. 3) Pray for me to get back on track and to continue to be purposeful with the children.
ANGE47 1. That my children make safe healthy choices. That the Lord arm them to defeat the temptations of drugs and alcohol. 2. That I may trust more in the Lord than in my own devices 3. Praise God for all our blessings
Anjay (ANJAYS-JOURNEY)
1. Employment for Wayne 2. Summer employment for Janos` 3. Jared starting his new job
BORN2BE:
1) Praying that God will see my family through the many changes that we are experiencing and guide our hearts in making good choices. 2) Praying our house will be finished and sell for a good price that will allow us financial freedom from debts. 3) Praying that the right home for our future is made known to us. Also need help guiding our hearts and letting go of the home we have shared as a family for 22 years and leaving a community of friends.
My family means a lot to me and I want all the help I can get in knowing Gods comforting them in our time of remembering our mom.
Colleen (CLCHASE123) 1) We've had a couple of friends lose jobs recently, please pray that the find new jobs and are able to support themselves and their families very soon. And please pray that those of us who are fortunate enough to have our jobs keep them in this difficult economy.
DADDYS_GIRL6 Thankfulness for answered prayers!!: 1) Nephew's better health since back surgery last Autumn!! 2) God's provision and protection. 3) Eternal health and peace for my family 4) New job for one DS and a promotion to management for the other DS Requests: 1) Safety and protection for DSs while working! 2) Salvation for Bil, Nephew and his wife and 4 little girls, cousin and her DH and their parents!!! 3) Peace and to remember God Makes No Mistakes, to rest in His Strength and Joy Thank you all for praying for our family!! We'd be in sad shape if it wasn't for the answers to your prayers!! Love to you all!!
Elsie (Saint Bernard6) 1) for granddaughter Vicky since. she appears to be adjusting better now. 2) grandson Bruce...he got dismissed from Job Corps due to unsavory behavior and is now back here. 3) Valerie---that God will open up the door for her to be hired into Access. She is actively job hunting. She sometime goes into panic mode.
PRAISE: My mower was repaired at no cost Baby Nala is healthy and growing
Irene (DIDMIS) 1) PRAISE - House is in order, Have downsized some, Air conditioner fixed, new water heater in, new carpet in the whole house, and car home. 2) Praise that I am so much better. Have PT at home. He had me walking inside of my condo just holding onto his arm. 3) Praises that I am driving and can wash clothes, cook lightly, do dishes but it takes longer and tires me 4) Prayers for continued healing and increased energy. 5) I will have TKR the 8th of March.
Joanne (SUNSHINE1954) 1) Continued prayer for Fran, Gary and Twyla's salvation as well as Brendan continuing in his spiritual growth. 2) That Brendan will continue to have a positive attitude towards school, that he will continue to progress and do well. 3) For the salvation of all our friends and relatives who have not yet accepted Jesus as their personal saviour. 4) For each one of us that we will be successful in our journeys to healthier bodies as a testimony to our love for our God above. 5) For the success of Tamara's (a friend of mine) new venture that all would go well and that she would continue to follow God's will for her. 6) For Owen a young grade four student recently diagnosed with cancer. 7) That God will lead a strong young Christian man into Gary's company and that this employee (whoever he may be) will be used by God to lead Gary to accept Christ as his Saviour.
Julie (Eternalminded)
1) Pray for salvation of our children, including in laws and grandchild. 2) Pray for healthy delivery of our grandson - he is due this month. 3) Pray for Stella to be delivered of this leukemia. 4) Pray for Nate (son-in-law) to find a job stateside so he does not have to return to Afghanistan. 5) Continue to pray for my knee and for our patience throughout all of this. 6) Pray for a young man who has throat cancer - that he will be delivered. 7) Pray for my mom to be able to return to part time status at work. 8) Pray for my dad who has a bad shoulder. He is really having a hard time doing things. They basically have been giving him steroid shots. They do not seem to be working.
Laura (His Own)
1. Please pray for discernment as it seems that several members of our congregation and the head of our Christian Education board feel that I am the person for the new Children's ministry position that is being created by a donor. This could be for 2 years. As you all know I am doing alot in the area already 2. Please pray for me as I begin the final preparations in settling my Dad's injury lawsuit. That the paperwork I am requesting to get Blue Cross reimbursed for their expenses as well as money for my Dad for his partial permanent disability and pain etc - Praising God I know how this works and how the money part works 3.
CHOWARD226 1)Please pray for my roommate who is going into the hospital Her name is Sara and the doctors will be taking a look at her brain to see if they can stop her seizures. thanks
Ute (SCHNOOTIE) 1) Please pray for my fellow workers at the veterinary clinic. The practice is in turmoil and we are trying to make the best of it.
LILYDOG11 1) Please pray to have Angels & The Lord watch over my Sister's family.
LUANN7 1) Please pray for my mother in the nursing home she is having a hard time dealing with the fact she cant come home-she can't walk and she gets depressed. 2) Praise the Lord I am doing fairly well
Cheryl (RICHERYL) 1) Please pray for healing of my husband's sinus cold as well as protection so I don't come down with I\it
JSTETSER 1) Please pray for Adrienne and Adam, seriously hurt from the Boston Bombing.
Happy Mother's Day everyone hope you all had A great day

Good morning! I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day! We will leave late morning to go to my mom's house for the afternoon. My cousin and her husband always come to my mom's house for Mother's Day. Both of her parents have passed away and my mom is more like her mom than aunt. She grew up with us and was more like a sister than a cousin. Her daughter and family spend the day there too. It has become tradition more or less.
I have not updated you all on my knee lately. Libby - the knee bending machine - did not work after all. So, the doctor is going to do what is called a knee manipulation. He will put me to sleep and then bend my knee for me. I will go straight from the hospital to therapy for an hour. Then I will go to therapy Thursday, Friday and Monday. They will decide on Monday if I will continue to come every day or every other day. That will depend on how well my knee is bending. I have been frustrated but all is okay. I will get there. It is just taking more time than I thought.
Our co-op is over for this year. I love co-op but I am ready for a break. Because of all my knee things - we are behind on our work but not too bad. We will wrap it up in about three weeks - give or take. Tomorrow we are going to have a down day - meaning going no where. We had something planned but I canceled it. I have to go to the doctor on Tuesday. I am not sure why he wants to see me even though he is doing the procedure on Wednesday. Then the rest of the week will be knee stuff.
We had a wonderful day yesterday. We celebrated Adam with friends and family. There were 27 of us in the house. His birthday is Tuesday but because we had family here for Mother's Day we had the party yesterday. Fun day!
I better scoot! Blessings, Julie

Good Morning Everyone,
I am enjoying the sun showing through the clouds this morning. Possible storms again this afternoon so may not get to mow today.
I will be working with the photo return program this afternoon in Joplin.
Have a great good choice blessing filled week end.

hey all, just wanted to post that I and my husband are in heavy prayer for our son who is traveling across country right now, from TN to ND, to take a job in the oil fields up there. He has had to leave in TN his pregnant wife and almost 5 yr old daughter. He has been working as a car wash attendant/sometimes asst. manager for about 4 yrs now but that job just isn't paying the bills so he has finally found a job. We are praying for traveling mercies for him and his several buddies as they head up to ND, and then that he will be safe on this dangerous job. He has NO idea what exactly he will be doing but he has training from the Navy as a CB ( construction ). For the first week or so, the guys will be living in a travel camper until they get the lay of the land and can find housing.

Joanne next week was to be my last week but he said I might be able to get more time with fewer days to practice the things I battle with yet, like stepping up on curbs, etc. My blog today really was one of victory. I am so happy. I still use the walker some, especially when I first get up in the morning.

Good Morning,
I got my mower back yesterday and was able to get out and mow for about an hour before mental health class last evening. 6 more classes in this session.
My plan today is to get more mowing done on both my yard and Valerie's yard.

Updates in my life:
Got another client from church she and her husband need someone to teach the how to wallpaper so my sweet husband and I told them we would help for free and they said NO WAY and they are offering us a wonderful hourly rate -very generous for sure!! not sure when we will do that at least two Saturdays
I just designed and laid out a kitchen for a client who moved into a client - she loved all the shelving ideas she texted me last night "Could my husband and I come over and do the same thing for her bathroom?" That will happen tonight and wrap up tomorrow
We enjoyed eating out last night with one of the gift cards my DH won!! My Dad seems to not want to cook much at all lately so it is all falling on me and I mentioned this to my sister BUT did not get any support and she said JUST go out without him! So we will
Had a Christian Ed meeting on Tuesday night and again after the meeting the head of the board sat down with me because I said I had some concerns re: position - we discussed them and now they are NOT concerns - one was to have winter bible camp late February - 4 family outreaches one per quarter - some kind of drop in program AND then try to pull a summer VBS out as well - we laughed and said it is not the intention to KILL you so I feel really good about this - if God wants me to have this ALL obstacles and concerns will be removed
PRAYING FOR YOU ALL
BLESSINGS TO YOU
Laura
