I always do - if you get them early in the season, it prevents problems. They say it's impossible to get the flu from the shots as you're just getting the antibodies - but a lot of people who were already exposed do get the flu after the shot, simply because it hasn't had time to take effect yet. I always get one the minute they are available - in fact, I PRE-ORDER them months in advance.....and it really does help! My needle-phobic husband sometimes gets the nasal dose and when he does, he avoids the flu - when he doesn't get the vaccine, he ALWAYS gets the flu, usually several times during the year, even though he is otherwise extremely healthy. I haven't had the flu for many years [knock on wood] even when everyone around me is sick with flu so I highly recommend getting them.
Unfortunately, I do get colds every now and then - when do we get a vaccine for that? haha!
