Ok...I am so pumped! I over did my calorie intake today...I had an early meeting. I'm not a morning person...When I get up early I want bigger breakfasts....anyways...I got weak going through the Tim Hortons Drive through...and I had a Bagel and Cream Cheese (low fat) So...back to the nutrition calculator...I over estimated the cream cheese...because they always put so much on there. Anyway...by the time I was done with my breakfast and my car snack (which I have yet to master)... My calories for the day were almost gone and it is only 2PM and I have a whole day of work ahead of me still. What to do...
I took out some cucumber...sliced it up into a small bowl (about a half cup worth of slices... and put a tbsp full of yogurt on top. Not even the fat free kind and it was under 20 calories. Cuccumbers and sour cream are a family favorite in the summer...with just salt and pepper with some fresh dill. (dried works too) I never realized how cheap in calories it can be. I think this is going to be one of my new snacks... Now to find a deal on cucumbers! What will the clerk think!?!
I love the Smart Choice Pop. The popcorn is conveniently in 1/2 size bags. If you eat the whole thing it is only 100 calories. They are my favorite snack on a day when I didn't budget so well and my hunger outweighs my calories left. I think I will be keeping them in the car when I start placement soon. I'll be working two jobs and if I get myself into a crunch where I have lost track of time...I will still have something I can grab from the car quickly to nuke. It's also a dry food that nobody will care if you keep on your desk and pick at while you study (also a student right now...still doing homework at 33!)

I just got those little snack size Ziploc bags and made several of them to take with me to school. I'm a grad student and often stuck on campus all day. I made little baggies with 10 pecan halves each (that's half a serving, but enough to stave off hunger) and a granola bar of some kind. Luna bars, low carb protein bars, whatever. I'm also a big fan of apples and rice cakes with peanut butter.

chiquita - I dont drink diet sodas but I've read that diet sodas will actually increase your appetite and make you want to eat more, especially sugars. I would stick with water with crystal light and have a healthy snack - like fruit or rice cakes to tide over your hunger. Remember to eat things with a lot of fiber to fill you up!
In response to the question below - I love fiber one bars! I really like the chocolate ones. Each chocolate bar was 140 calories and 9 grams of fat and they are super delicious! I eat one on the commute home from work before going to the gym.

Ok...so I'm a Newbie...this is a question rather than an answer...
What do you girls think...I am only on day 3, just starting back to work after the holidays..I work steady evenings and will be doubling up and doing a day shift as well. I have a plan for the most part. But I they say you should plan to have days that are hard to accomplish the plan...and what to do then?
The question...I know diet sodas are bad...and I am not a soda drinker I might have one once in a blue moon. I will grab them from the cooler when I am shopping and really craving the chocolates that I am standing beside...I figure a diet soda is a better choice when I am struggling. I know they have zero nutrition value but I can't help thinking that if it gives me a false fullness until I can get my head on straight that it can be "a tool". An "im desperate tool" perhaps. Thoughts?
As for an answer to the original question... I too love rice cakes...but prefer almond butter. OR a little almond butter spread over a banana..yummm....did I mention that I am hungry...RIGHT NOW? I am going to eat my cherries now.
