I haven't forgotten about this group and I'm still determined to walk to Forks, WA, but I've been dealing with an injury. Once that's better...this week....I'll get back to it as I'm able. I'm looking forward to being pain free.

Starting November 1st I will be "walking" to Charlotte, NC to visit my son. It's 520 miles from where I live in Florida. emoticon My initial goal is to be in Charlotte by New Years Eve, but if I don't manage that, I'll see how long it takes me. I'll post weekly on my progress.

I've chosen my route! I will be walking (hiking) around Mount Rainier's Wonderland Trail. It's a 93 mile hike that goes around the entire mountain. I'm going to post blogs on my progress weekly. My goal is to complete the virtual hike in six weeks (by December 7th). This is a short one, I know. But, when I finish this hike, I'll be planning another.

Today was a busy day and I had to work this afternoon. I went to the post office this afternoon. I parked the car as far away as possible so that I would at lease get some exercise. I do that whenever time allows. When I don't have enough mileage/steps for the day then I walk on the spot in my office. At least this way I am getting at least some more
exercise

Good morning Walkers!

How was your weekend?

What plans do you have for today?

How is your virtual walk going?
I see a few of you are doing pretty good, Donna you are really making great strides on your way to the zoo, can't wait to hear about what awesome animals they have when you arrive.
Keep up the great job! How you feeling after your first week?

H Ninavee, great place to start, I bet your husband will be surprised to see you when you get there!
Does he know you walking there to visit him?
Well if you get there around lunch time, enjoy a light lunch with your dear hubby, then lace those shoes back up and hit another destination!
Be sure to keep us posted on how you are doing!

I had a great weekend, we went over to St. Augustine (Florida) and got in alot of my miles there..they have the most beautiful walking beach I have ever seen, nice and flat and easy to walk..waves were a bit rough to walk the edge of the surf, but was able to get my feet wet anyway..
I love walking along the beach, love sound of the waves, the seagulls, it is just so relaxing.

I will be updating my virtual walk later this afternoon, heading into week 3 now, I should be in Tennessee and working my way to Virginia..I will let you know when I update.

You are more than welcome to keep your walk posted there as well..

Today is my second day at SparkPeople. I'm going to walk from Smithfield, VA to NYC. My husband commutes to NYC weekly, and I figure if I can arrive on a weekday, it would be a nice surprise for him. emoticon Haha.

It's approximately 385 miles. I'm not sure how much I will do a day/week, I'm just going to start out walking and when I get a sense of how I'm doing, set some goals.

There are so many of us walking to interesting places, I'm sure we'll pass each other as we go. I'll give you a wave as I pass by ... emoticon

Boy this is a pretty quiet team!
Where is everyone..with over 1000 members you would think someone would be here..

Oh well,
How did everyones weekend go?
Were you able to get out and walk?
How far did you go on your trip this weekend?

My weekend went great, got over 8 miles logged, still need to log it here..but I think that is pretty good.
I was not able to go outside and walk, it would rain, then the sun would come out, then it would rain again, so I just walked on the treadmill, not as exciting, but it gets the job done.

Well we are headed into a new week, do you have any goals as for how far you want to walk?
Me, I want to get in at least 20 this week, so I am going to have to hussle, got company coming in Wed., but she loves to walk..so that will help me alot.

Well off to get ready for work tomorrow, have an awesome evening, and think about your goals for the week...

Hey there everyone, my fellow walkers!
How are things going?
Are you getting in your miles needed for your virtual walk?
How far along are you on your trip now!

I have done about 15 miles so far this week, I still need to log todays miles, but I am ready to start a new week, see how well I can do, try to do about 30 miles on the trip!

As you can see I am just editing my posts for the week, I will copy and paste it in a new reply tomorrow so I can start week 2; but I think I will add my weight this time and see how much I lose walking, I will post my weight beside the start of each new week!

I am going to walk from Monmouth, Oregon to Villa Lucia of Tuscany in Montevettolini, Italia. It's always been a dream of mine to go there. emoticon

So to start in Geogia and head to Maine on the trail is a total of 2173 miles..
I am off and walking! emoticon

Sept.18~~2173 - 2 miles = 2171
Sept.19~~2171 - 3.5 miles = 2167.5
Sept.20~~2167.5 - 2 miles = 2165.5
Sept.21~~2165.5 - 2.5 miles = 2163
Sept.22~~2163 - 2.5 miles = 2160.5
Sept.23~~2160.5 - 3.2 miles = 2157.3

Walking the Appalacian Trail, starting in Georgia and going to Maine, and the I will turn around and return, but then add the milage back to my hometown in Florida.

So to start in Geogia and head to Maine on the trail is a total of 2173 miles..
