I have wanted to walk the AT for a long time. Hubby and I have discussed it for our retirement years, probably just doing day hikes. But presently I am over 700 miles into it on FitBit. I've downloaded some maps and it really keeps me motivated. My daughter and I will be doing a day hike next summer while on vacation and I'm already very excited!
This year is all about me and my quest to unload this extra person I have been hauling around.
I noticed the last thread seemed to have died out in 2011, so I thought I'd start a new one. Anyone up to joining me? I plan to hike the REAL thing in 2015 and thought this would be a great reality check for me. With fewer hills.
July 22, 2013: Starting at Springer Mountain, GA. 2185.9 miles to go!
