I have a wallet, but I also have so many insurance and ID cards for myself and my son that I use a binder clip to keep them together, then put this in a pocket in my purse. I just take the clip of the bunch and fan through them. They come in different sizes and colors and some have a "soft grip" coating on the part you squeeze. Here's a link to some at Staples:

I have been finding that Imak Arthritis Gloves help my hands. Since having RA my wrists are always hot (inflamed) and my fingers always freezing. I put the gloves on for warmth and have found that the light compression (very light, they aren't tight, just stretchy) has helped with pain. They don't cover your fingertips, so you can still do things. Can be worn day and night.

Very interesting design. Not sure it would work for me, but it sure looks like a great tool.

The card selector wallet is here: http://www.acmwallet.com/

Another idea is to put a little tab of clear tape (don't put it on the reader strip). Tape works on the on the cards so that you have that to grab instead of wrangling the individual cards. Think of them as file folder tabs for your cards.

My purse is rather large... because my husband liked it and it had an outside (zippered) pocket that was Kindle sized so it would be easy for me to take my books with me. I don't put a lot of things in them main pocket to keep the weight down so the wallet I use may not work for you. I don't have any idea about the selector button wallets. I've never even heard of them.

I am not sure on the size of your purse, but I have a fairly small leather purse that I found at a thrift store that uses magnets to seal some of the pockets. The inner main compartment has a zippered pocket that I have added a string to the pull as that makes it easier to open and close it. I also have a wallet that goes in the purse that technically has a zipper, though I don't often keep it zipped. It is a man's wallet, which seems to have a little more wiggle room and more finger-friendly operation. The combination of magnet snaps, zipper pulls, and easy access means that I have less moments of cussing at my everyday tasks.

(There is also a wallet that has selector buttons to get out cards, but I do not know how good, easy, or cheap those are)

I found the wallet I use at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It is square has the id on the outside (so easy to get to). It also has 2 zippered pockets. One has an accordion file type section where I store my credit cards. They slide in from the top so they are easy to see and get in/out. The second pocket is a great place for change/bills (directly behind ID sleeve). This has saved my hands numerous times. It is not the slimmest wallet but it is easy to hold and work. Attached is a link to Amazon for a picture of the wallet.

As for a purse I'm not sure about the style that would be best for you. I use a purse with zippered pockets on the outside to hold my appointment cards (smaller pocket) and Kindle. Everything else is dropped into the main pocket where I have to fish it out. Perhaps a snap lidded pill carrier would work.

Ok don't laugh but I have found myself having an odd problem... I have alot of problems with pain and stiffness in my hands and I am having alot of problems dealing with my purse.. I can't seem to get into the pockets and get my pain medicine when I need it.. I just seem to fumble around.. also I have a big problem with my wallet (well.. it is usually empty but besides that).. I can't get my license, insurance card etc. out and in of those little pockets.. Does anyone have any ideas on how to adapt to this? It is becoming rather frusterating.. especially when at the store and I can't get the card to pay 'em!
