Hey Hey Hey!

I started the Hip Hop Abs 6-Day Slim Down on Monday...and by Friday morning, I am down 8 pounds. This isn't the first time I've "kick started" my weight loss programs with the 6-Day plan and it's worked like a charm every time. I love this and look forward to doing it again next week, with a bit more calories. If you haven't tried it yet, ya got nothing to lose... but a bit of weight! Cheers!

Guapoooo.....!!!

Good Morning All:

I'm on day 3 of hip hop abs. I've only been using the fat burning cardio, I like it. My favorite part is the get busy, when I do that move I'm assured that I'm doing things correctly. I don't think I do it correctly all of the time, but I figure something is better than nothing and as my core gets stronger I'll get better at it. I also have the support of my 2 children as well (ages 16 & 12). We've been challenging each other. I do have one question though, how are you tracking hip hop abs, I've gone to add it to my cardio but am unable to add it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Haaaaaaay!

Can you imagine Shawn T saying that? He cracks me up. I was telling a friend that while I am working out with Shawn T, I pretend that he is paying attention to me especially because he is soooo cute. Anyway, I only did HHA for Day 1 and 2 and then took a very long break. Well I am starting again. I would love to hear some success stories. Also, is anyone else doing the eating plan. I have been better at that than the workouts and I can definitely tell a difference in my clothes. I am scale-a-phobic so I don't know how much weight I lost.

Ladies, I've had a tough go of it for the last 2 weeks. The life of a single mom with a hectic schedule. I'm up this early to get started once again. Day 1 of 6. I'm hoping I will be more successful this week.

Hey!

Well, I've been MIA for two reasons: 1) my health, which I thought was resolved, but I guess my body told me otherwise. Yesterday, was my first day back on HHA, which I was able to do without too many issues. 2) I was away at the HOW designers conference , where I definitely went off my diet - but guess what? I actually lost a couple of pounds!!

Go figure!

Anyway, I'm off but I'm back and it feel sooooooooooo good!

Congrats PencilDancer!

That's so awesome! I'll take any kind of progress over none at all. I'm the same way. I lost inches first before pounds. Then, one day I got on the scale and couldn't believe my eyes, it actually went down!

Congrats again!

I took today off, I think I did something bad to my shoulder. It hurts a lot! The next two days I'm at a conference--Women of Faith! I'm psyched!
So I'll restart hitting this hard again on Monday.

Where are my fellow challengers? How's everything going ladies? I did day 3 today. I haven't had the energy to get in my two routines daily as I did 2 weeks ago. Perhaps after summer school, my life will be a bit less hectic. Hope you all are doing well.

Day two completed this morning. I haven't taken measurements yet. I'll wait until I finish day 6. Lindi, I have my alarm set for 4:30, but I never make it out of bed until 5:00. By the time I start my coffee and grab a small something to eat (I get sick to my stomach if I exercise on an empty stomach), it's 5:30. Here lately, I have been walking and playing ball with my mentally challenged students for about 30 minutes a day. I forgot how much fun it is to play with children. I had become too ashamed of the way I looked to run around. Weight loss has a way of enhancing your life all around.

Pencildancer I too am hypothyroid and weight does NOT fall off...only goes on LOL!!

Did day d and 3 yesterday and today. Carla I get up at 4 and work out around 4:15 it is really hard sometime getting up that early but I have energy and legs. The last two afternoons after work I have forced myself to do the Bowflex Threadstepper while dinner is cooking but I do not have any kids at home only me and my husband therefore, it is easier to have dinner a little late.

I have not measured my self but I do weight every AM and so for since Monday I have lost 4.8 LBS but my pants still feel tight so we shall see on Sunday about the inch(s).

Have a great Hip Hop Day!!!

Yes, I have noticed changes. First thing though: I'm hypothyroid so weight does not fall off me easily.
I've lost an inch + off my waist, 1" off my hips, .5 off my thighs, 1" from my neck and 1.5 from my upper arms. My weigh went down 2 lbs but now it is back up.

I did the one day off and did the cardio and ab sculpt yesterday.

This came with a chart of what to do for a month but since we did the 6 day jump start I'm unclear where to start my weeks. Does anyone know? I just went to week 3 so I can try the different dvds.

I'm finally back in the saddle. Did Fat Burning Cardio this morning. I've been so tired when I get home in the evenings, that I just haven't been able to make myself exercise. I decided to get it out of the way in the mornings. I hope I can keep it up. Keep up the good work everyone. Please let me know if you've noticed any changes in your weight/body composition.

I've been MIA for a while. Kudos to you all who have kept up with the challenge. I plan to restart tomorrow. I could really use some encouragement. Its amazing how when you slack just a little, it's so difficult to get back on track. I'll check in with you all tomorrow.

Hello everyone!

It's great to see this room so active - yay!

Well, it appears that I was right. After three months of being off my iron pills for severe anemia (I pulled myself off because of the well-known side effect...lol), and working out so much, I depleted my iron. Last time this happened I was threatened with a blood transfusion - not for this girl! So back on the high-dose iron. I worked out for 30 minutes yesterday. I'm going to three times a week (per my doctors request) until my iron levels are back to normal - thanks everyone for the encouragement and well wishes.

Progress: Well, I'm down a LOT of pounds all of the sudden. I'm down a total of 17 lbs in one month. Because I'm retaining a lot of water. I'm going to wait to get an accurate weight after I discontinue the water pills. However, I lost a total of 3 inches off my hips and 1 off my waist an 1/4 off my neck all in one week (or 4 days, I think, of HHA)- thanks to this challenge! And, that week I didn't do Tae Bo or the elliptical, I don't think.

For those of you who don't know the symptoms of anemia - here they are:

A person with anemia will feel tired and weak because the body's tissues are being starved of oxygen. In fact, fatigue is the main symptom of most types of anemia. The severity of symptoms is in part related to the severity of anemia. Mild anemia can occur without symptoms and may be detected only during a medical exam that includes a blood test.

Symptoms of anemia include:

* Fatigue

* Weakness

* Fainting

* Breathlessness

* Heart palpitations (rapid or irregular beating)

* Dizziness

* Headache

* Ringing in the ears (tinnitus)

* Difficulty sleeping

* Difficulty concentrating

Common signs include:

* Pale complexion

* The normally red lining of the mouth and eyelids fades in color

* Rapid heartbeat (tachycardiaAn abnormally rapid heart rate, usually defined as a rate greater than 100 beats per minute.An abnormally rapid heart rate, usually defined as a rate greater than 100 beats per minute. )

* Abnormal menstruation (either absence of periods or increased bleeding)

Other signs depend on the cause of the anemia. These can include spoon-shaped finger nails and toenails in iron-deficiency anemia, mildjaundiceA condition characterized by yellowness of the skin and whites of the eyes. It may be caused by obstruction of bile passageways, excessive destruction of red blood cells or a disturbance in the liver.A condition characterized by yellowness of the skin and whites of the eyes. Annabanana (love saying that by the way) I'm not doing the diet like others on here I'm dieted out. I'm just being sensible and increasing my exercise.
Motovation? Here's some, I just finished day 3 and I've lost an inch on my waist and my neck. TAKE those measurements before you start! It really is a motivator.

Is the food plan hard to follow? I just got my set and the day before I got them, lightening struck my house and killed my big screen and one bedroom TV. I hope to start the 6 day slim down on Monday. I only have Hip Hop Abs, Turbo Jam and Pilates. I have only done Turbo Jam once. I NEED MOTIVATION.

Carla I really like it!! Of course it is a little different music than I normally listen to however it does shake things up!!

Pencildancer great job!!! I do not follow the diet either. I have been on sooooo many diets that I am dieted out and now I am logging my food and watching my calories, carbs and protien (I have found that if I do not eat enough protien I get realllllly hungry and tired).

Day 2 DONE!! Tomorrow is a new day and a new CD.

Did not get home enough time to do anything else yesterday but I am going to either do the step CD or the treadclimber WITHOUT FAIL!!

I am off to the bowling alley again.

Have a great evening.

Lindi

PS please excuse my spelling I am the world's worst!!

Day one is done. But now I have to push play for today. :) I'm doing the 6 day thing without the diet. So today is total body burn, the title scares me!

Is anyone logging into the website work out room? I did that yesterday but not sure I will continue, it's just one more step to slow me down.

I didn't get in my 2nd workout yesterday as planned. I was trying to finish a book I was engrossed in and kept putting my workout off. The book is now finished. I will be back on track today.

Great job Lindi! Did you enjoy the workout?

I am on day 4 of this challenge!!! I just found this group and was so excited! I was stalled at 15lbs for what seemed like forever (reality - only about 2 weeks).
I had ordered these dvds and decided to do the 6 day program to try and jump start my weight loss right before I go on vacation next week.
I read that most women are actually protein deficient and if they are stalled it's probably because once we start dieting - we tend to cut out too much of our protein intake. I read the diet plan for the 6 days and it was so packed with protein that I thought this just might help.
I have already broken the barrier and am now only two pounds away from my short-term goal!
I think this program is fun and obviously it’s working for me. Combining the Firm Supercharged Sculpting with the Fat Burning Cardio days has been a good combination for me as well.
I am so excited to see the full results in a couple of days.... Good luck ladies!

Have a great day,

Lindi

DAONYXONE, you probably are doing too much. Are you currently taking iron supplements? Don't worry about missing a couple of days. You have done an excellent job. Hey, you got me off the couch this week. That's an accomplishment in itself. I hope you feel better. Try to get some rest.

By the way, I made myself do the HHA Ab Sculpt. I was so fatigued. I also did my Firm supercharged sculpt. I was going to skip it tonight, but my 4 year old set everything up and said she was ready to exercise. Therefore, I got my lazy butt up and worked out. Let me know how you're doing.

Well, after two days of missing HHA - I'll be back on track tomorrow. For the last couple of days, I have been exhausted. Because I'm anemic, I'm wondering if I'm working out too much - and it's affecting my iron levels. (My weekly SP exercise goal is 2700+ calories and so far I've burned approximately 4500-without working out for the past two days!). So, I think my body is like what the heck is going on?

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to check my iron levels and to find out if I'm exercising too much. If he gives me the green light, I'll finish the challenge.

AMETHYSTSPR93

Congratulations on your consistency - it's definitely motivating when you get that burst of energy when you didn't think you had it or when you're really not in the mood. Exercising definitely has it's benefits.

Keep up the awesome work!

I did my HHA fat burning cardio. I'm always so tired before I start. However, after I complete HHA, I seem to get a burst of energy. I'll check with you guys tomorrow.

Hey! Thanks for the support!

Oh, the total combined time for the three tapes is 55 minutes. Absculpt is 20 minutes, Last minute abs is 5 minutes and Tae Bo is 30 minutes - so it's not as hard as it sounds:)

I did the Fat Burning Cardio and Walk Slim 2 miles tonight. I had my Firm Supercharged Sculpting scheduled, but didn't have the energy to do it tonight. Therefore, I switched tomorrow's scheduled Walk Slim for today's scheduled Firm. Hopefully, I can complete my Firm routine and HHA Fat Burning Cardio tomorrow. You all keep up the good work!

Daonyxone CONGRATS keep up the most excellent job!! My HHA was mailed today so I will be going full speed ahead starting on Monday. I did get up early and do my Hot Salsa however, my hubby is off tonight so I am going to give myself a break. But I will be up bright and dark and do either Core Rhythms or step. How in the world do you have the time to do 3 different CD's in one day??? I feel lucky to get through one and then do the tread stepper at night.
Ballgame is on and I am getting ready for tomorrow...lunch, clothes, etc. Have a good evening.

Day 4 - Hip Hop Abs Challenge

Okay, so I've made it through Day 4 of this self-imposed challenge! I am so proud of myself and for you for sticking with me through this challenge. Putting myself out there - and knowing that someone else would be "checking in" on me - definitely made me stick to it, when I didn't want to or thought I was too tired to.

Today, I did HHA's Ab Sculpt, HHA's Last Minute Abs and Tae Bo's Cario Boot Camp.

Only two days left - I can't wait to see the results, if any. Well, I kind of cheated. I measured my neck after a co-worker said my neck was slimmer - and guess what? It's a whole inch smaller than it was when I bought HHA's two weeks ago!

Stay motivated!

AMETHYSTSPR93 - keep up the great work!

Yesterday, I did the Total Body Burn--that's the fastest 40 minutes in world. When I'm doing Tae Bo, I keep looking at the clock - not with HHA!!!!!! I then popped in the Ab Sculpt but ended up watching it. I'm so exhausted from Monday's Tae Bo Ultimate and those dag on Billy Bands.

Today, I'm planning on doing the Ab Sculpt, since it's only 20 minutes and Tae Bo's Ab Bootcamp. Last time I did both of these together - I was so proud of myself.

P.S. - the results are quick - I got on the scale this morning and I'm an even 216 (in just three days!!!!!) Yeah! And, I feel like I'm retaining water, so I won't weigh again until Sunday to be sure!

Have a great day

Thanx for the welcomb!! We have had the treadstepper for about 4 months now and I use it so so. My hubby is more in to walking than I am but I did actually put it in step mode this evening and it kicked my butt!! I was reading on another post that you can purchase HHA 2 on e-bay. I did not make the additional purchase either because I wanted to make sure that I would use HHA 1. I am off to bed.....early to rise and do the Red Hot Salsa!! Have a nice evening.

Three days down. I just did the Ab Sculpt. Boy, was it a challenge? I'm about to do the 3 mile Walk Slim and then call it a night. DAONYXONE you're absolutely correct in that once you start HHA, you can't help but to keep going.

THINAT60, welcome to our challenge. I'm sure you're going to love HHA. Let us know when you receive it. I hope you don't do like I did and not open in for a week. I wish I had popped it in the DVD Player as soon as I got it.

I second that emotion!

I'm exhausted today, but since I openly committed, I feel compelled to workout. But one thing I have noticed with HHA, even if I don't feel like working out, it really does get me in the mood and before I know it, I'm grooving and popping in a TaeBo tape immediately after.

Has anyone purchased the advanced HHA? When they offered it to me, I didn't purchase it, because I wanted to see if I liked HHA. Now that I'm in love, I've wondered about the advance tapes.

Hey THINAT60!

Welcome and we're more than happy to have you - whenever you get it. HHA is so much fun, once you put it in it won't feel like a workout - I promise:)

P.S. How's the treadstepper - I've been wanting one for over a year, but settled for an Elliptical because they are so expensive. How long have you had it, how are you liking it, and are the results as claimed?

I would like to join the two of you....However, I order my HHA yesterday (holiday) and will not get it until next week. I am currenly doing the Bowflex treadstepper in the evening and in the weeee hours of the morning I will do a step CD or Hot Salsa CD untile the HHA CD arrives. I will to do HHA in the AM and the treadstepper in the evening while I watch a baseball game. I have read the reviews on QVC and posts on the community pages and it sounds like we have made a good choice of exercise CD's.

I'm so glad I openly committed to 6 days. Had I not, I would not have attempted to exercise tonight since I was so tired. Thanks DAONYXONE for the accountability! I did the Fat burning cardio tonight. I'm resting for a while before I attempt my Firm supercharged sculpting.

Hey AMETHYSTSPR93!

I'm glad that you're joining me. Well, I completed day 2 of 6 - I did the "Total Body Burn".

Let me know how you're progressing so we can keep each other motivated and, in the end, we'll be 6 days closer to our goal!

I'll join you. I just created a workout rotation calendar to include HHA, the Firm and Walk Slim. I have HHA scheduled 6 days a week. I am also trying to jump start my weight loss since I've been laxed for some time. I want to be out of Lane Bryant by the end of the summer. Currently, I'm in size 16 and some size 14. Since 14 is the smallest size they carry, my goal appears attainable.

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

Okay people - looks like we need a challenge in this room to "get this party started"!

I'm going to commit to 6-Days of HHA, starting with today, which I've completed (Last Minute Abs X 2 and Hip, Buns and Thighs), so only five days to go. Currently, I'm at 217.2, so we'll see what - if anything changes - in the next five days!

I need to jump-start my weight loss with a challenge to lose 17 lbs by July 4, 2007, so I figured since HHA is so much fun, it will keep me motivated.

Will anyone join me?
