Greetings,

I am a solitary pagan out of necessity. I live in a small community in NE Iowa. Too many people confuse Paganism with anti-Christ and, therefore, anti-USA. Years ago I used to be involved with a group of like minded individuals at the UU church, but that has since disbanded. I miss the celebrations and the drumming circles.

If there is anyone out there from NE Iowa around the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area let me know. hope everyone has a fun Solstice celebration.

In peace.

Earthseame, there are a lot of diffent kinds of festivals. The one that I posted (Fires Rising)is very ecstatic whereas others are more workshop focused. There are adult only festivals and some are family oriented.

Pagan Pride day activites (in my experience) are more like going to the county fair. some music, some food and a lot of walking.

A fun and very spiritual event happens at Four Quarter Farm in Artemas PA called Fires Rising. 4qf.org/_FiresRising/index.htm It is about diversity, singing, chanting, spoken word, dancing, drumming around the fire, and sharing the experience.

It is inexpensive and a great place if you like camping. It is being held June 3-June 6. Being on this land walking, dancing and swimming is a great way to lose weight too! emoticon

I've been to PP Festivals in both Dallas and Phoenix and I really like the one in Dallas. There are always new vendors and events and there are also the repeat vendors that remember your face. Everyone is so nice to answer questions and there are a lot of great things that you couldn't find anywhere else. I would recommend going and hopefully the one in your town is great.

Hope for tomorrow.

I haven't gone to one yet, but I'd like to go. There's a Pagan Pride festival that happens in my town every year, and I'm definately thinking about going this year. That festival generally isn't during the summer, though. It's normally in the autumn. I'll have to keep looking for more.

I've never been to a festival yet though I would love to. What are they like usually?

I tend to be a private practitioner, more inclined to hash out metaphysical, philosophy and morality with friends while camping.

I don't know of anything in the Washington area.

Does anyone have a web address for either the Colorado or Arizona frstivals? We could get to either of them by motorcycle, but Georgia is a little bit too far this year. Have to cross all of Texas to get there from Albuquerque!

I'll be at Dragon Fest in Colorado in August.

Lifeís easier when you can write off others as monsters, as demons, as horrible threats that must be hated & feared. The thing is, you canít do that without becoming them, just a little.
