I haven't seen spells for weight loss, but I have a charm to help with it. I am adding it to this post so you can see it. It is from Crone's Book of Charms and Spells by Valerie Worth. You draw it onto anything you can carry in your pocket at all times (just don't forget to take it out before you wash your clothes). On the back write these words: "Wax thou moon that I may wane; what I lose then shalt thou gain." Oh don't forget to cut out the circle- I just hadn't done it yet!

Never regret, regrets mean you never learned the lesson you were supposed to. Instead of getting even, make them miserable by being happy despite their attempts to rain on your parade.

I don't use spells per say but being Native American there are the use of crystals. Amethysts is the addiction stone and helps in healing. Clear Quartz is another all around stone. I meditate with these two crystals after cleansing them, then visualize my intention into them. They sit on my altar and when I need a boost from them I pick them up and do it again. At the end of the day the crystals are cleansed again wrapped in cloth overnight and ready to start again in the morning. I find meditation is a huge help.

I have several spells for weight loss. They are really good. They help focus your mind with positive affirmations.

I suggest sticking with the magic of manifestation. To cast a spell to loose weight would be tricky. The Universe has this twisted sense of humor. Leave any loop hole open and it will reek havoc in your life.

What I mean by manifestation is meditate daily, visualize yourself being at the weight you desire, feel what it would be like. Granted, no wave of the wand will give that to you over night, but this will help you stay focused and determined. This will help you manifest what you want yourself. And if you stay positive...positive results will come back to you. This is the basis of all things magic anyway. See and feel it happening, know it will and it will.

I have worked on affirmations and visualization, as well as some healing type work done to clear up the reasons for my obesity to begin with.

Wouldn't it make you a stronger person to put the weight off with your own sheer will power?

What I have done in the past ad am considering doing again now, is to set up an altar with health and slimness related items on it in the quarters.

I love the idea of associating an essential oil with the willingness to reach for my goals, as well, that sounds like a fabulous idea!

Spells at their essence are tricks to focus the will. Candles focus sight to a finite point, incense brings in smell, and words focus the mind. Use of a charm gives a reminder of what you are trying for.

Life’s easier when you can write off others as monsters, as demons, as horrible threats that must be hated & feared. The thing is, you can’t do that without becoming them, just a little.

I need to do this again as it needs to be refreshed, but a simple spell asking for strength of will has helped me in the past. In the request of will I associate an oil with it. When I start to feel weak or actually catch myself before stuffing it in my mouth, I try and focus by taking a swiff of the oil or sachet, to remind me of my goal or visualization. A stress stone may help too. One argument with the ex will send me to an eating spree. But i've got a stone to rub and visulize the new me. . . you get the idea.

Ame,

I don’t see those goals as frivolous. They are getting you where you want to be. And it’s fun to think of the reaction of people who see you seldom (and therefore more apt to notice a weight loss).

I visualize my "frivolous" goal, especially when I want to cut short my time on the treadmill. I see myself this October, attending my Local Renaissance Faire in new garb, longer hair and my head held high, about 60-70 pounds lighter(This is extremely doable as I am almost 30 pounds lighter now!) I picture the look on my ex-husband's face *WEG*, the look on my bard's faces and everyone of my faire family! (In October it will have been a year since the last time I saw them, and they have never known me any other way besides heavy) Ever pound, every inch lost makes the visualization that much closer to reality.

Love, Light and Laughter,
Ame

Thank you! That's some very good advice. I'll have to try some things and let you know how it goes.

Exactly, Marleya! I tend to chose one that I can reasonably achieve in a couple of months. That way I can make it happen and fell good about everything around it. Then pick another one.

I like that idea... to visualize myself doing something that a person who is not overweight can do or visualizing myself, at my goal weight, doing just about anything!

Goals: Dress size 12
1st Goal 235
2nd Goal 199
3rd Goal 180
4th Goal 172
5th Goal 168
6th Goal 155

I use a visualization of the things that I want to do rather than weight loss. For instance my current one is me standing in the waterfall at DrangonFest (local pagan festival). I wasn’t able to walk there last year, this year I plan on making it.

I've thought about a spell for weightloss, but spells can be unpredictable. For instance, a spell for weightloss might have a side affect of giving someone a terrible illness which would cause weightloss.

Instead of a spell, I'm doing affirmations and visualization. As close to a spell as I get is lighting a candle and "praying" for radiant health.

Sometimes when I light a candle and pray for a blessing, I put a tarot card or Goddess card on the alter near my candle. I have been unable to think of the appropriate card for this situation. I was think of the Ace of Wands.

Hello all! I'm new to spark and also new to wicca. I was wondering if anyone on this board has found or written any good spells for weightloss. I'm working on one for myself, but will welcome any imput I can get from more seasoned pagans. Spells, herbs, candles, any props used, etc. I don't plan on going on this journey alone. I want the help of other inspirational people. Thanks!
(oops! Sorry! I don't know how to spell!) emoticon
