I'm on my way back...
Saturday morning left the camp gates at 7 am. Did a couple of things in Squamish, and was driving out of Squamish at 8am. Arrived at our hotel 2:30 and was able to check in. Rested a bit them rode our bikes to a postcard Facebook meetup at the down town library. Later went to the restaurant that the owner of the camp gave us an appreciation gift certificate too ( casual fine dining) the food was good, but I ate before going because I just knew it would be tiny portions - I know - I know we are on a journey to loose weight.. But I was starving...
Sunday was very thick with smoke, resulting in the hotel pool being closed, walked the suspension bridges for half price because the views were hidden, but enjoyed it nevertheless and would go back. Saved a bunch of money by driving around and doing our own vineyard and orchard tour. Stopped and took many pictures of this but still no views - Noni didn't even see the lake we drove along side of.. But I knew it was there out of sight... Unfortunate no swimming in the lake.
Stopped off at a place that sold fresh goat cheese and Homemade ice cream from goats milk. Came out a little lighter in the wallet.
Monday the skies looked a little clearer so we did a 24k bike ride on the old kettle railway line paths - the smoke has lifted and it was an awesome ride. We stopped and had a picnic from the food I had brought along with us.
Did some shopping along the route Noni found some baking things that she was excited about and I bought postcards. Stopping at the fruit stands and buy fresh fruit.. So yummy.
We seen a few birds, a bear, deer... I don't think anything else.
Stopped a motel last night instead of driving straight home.. I was getting so tired and the car GPS was estimating arrival mid night - no I want to arrive home alive and not exhausted.

Not all was accomplished that I was hoping.. But it was successful in what we did do. Just not enough time in a long weekend getaway. But we are rested, too well fed, and it is good to stay in bed just a little longer and cuddle.
Home this afternoon if all goes as planned without any hiccups ...

Sounds like a plan Marty. I hope you enjoy your mini date weekend with your wife. I think you two need some rest and relaxation!

Not much going on, still hot & humid with heat indexes in mid 90s to low 100s. That means migraines for me. Supposed to be a cold front pushing through in the next day or two, which will trigger storms, as usual. Waiting for a few cooler days. My next trip begins September 5th. My brother will pick me up and take me to his house for a few days. Then my two best friends, my brother and I head to Florida for two weeks of relaxation on the Atlantic Ocean in the shark capital of the world - New Smyrna Beach, Florida. It's just a short 10 minute drive to our Dad and youngest brother's house. So this will be my annual visit to see them. Once I'm in Florida I will have internet access unless there's problems at the condos where we stay. Last year they had problems but for the most part I was able to get online after dark, so I can't complain there.

Hope everyone has a great week. Take care

Last week of summer camp with two hundred mouths to feed is upon us.... And then....
I have decided to go to Kelowna BC for the weekend, after that who knows?
So I have informed my new kitchen coordinator or what ever her title is that she will cook breakfast for the fifty or so staff on Saturday morning as I'm leaving camp Friday afternoon. I don't think I will stick around for the staff party.
I have arranged a sitter for Dalhouise. I have booked a hotel for two nights. So off to Kelowna my wife and I go for a mini date weekend.

I'm glad you got the post cards. Sorry I didn't get them mailed sooner. I hope you can figure something out to do. I'd love to go back to Yellowstone some day. I enjoyed Waterton Glacier too. I think Canada is beautiful. I've been there twice. Enjoy your week.

Was looking over some postings on FB - postcard pages, when I got sidelined with a location I would like to visit. So the day dreaming, planning begins. I am off the last week of August. Last year Noni and I did a road trip to Yellowstone National Park. Noni doesn't like the long - long drives..
Money is a little more tight this year... And the Candian dollar is so low I want to stay in Canada, but I do want to do a road trip. Where to go? What to do?

Thank you so much for these lovely postcards. The appreciation I have made all your effort worthwhile.
Today is a camp change over day.. 110 campers left after breakfast - I fed 70 for lunch.. And then took off to town to visit Mom and check on mail. I must get back to cook supper for the 70 and then tomorrow lunch we have 185 once more for the week. The. After this the numbers drop for the last two weeks - I will get a week off - then the fall program begins and slowly I will get my life back. I will be feeding smaller group sizes, and most weekends off.. I can't wait! But this Camp Life is my career and I can't complain with being off for six months can I!

Oh me Marty! It's always something! I did manage to get the postcards mailed to you this week. Sorry it took so long. It was a laugh at the post office because the guy there couldn't figure out where to look to see how much the postage was. It took forever! Finally he found a piece of paper telling the rates. It was already one of those days where you just want to throw your hands up and say forget it, by the time I finished there I was done for.

I have an appointment with the retina specialist on Monday afternoon. That'll be an all afternoon ordeal. Will be loads of fun - NOT! I found out last Monday I have sciatic nerve pain in my leg - from my back to my toes. So sitting, standing, walking and laying down aren't any fun. Sitting on those uncomfortable chairs won't help me one bit!

Temps are supposed to hit 97+ in the days ahead with this humidity we're having that'll mean the heat indexes will be over 110 for days on end. No air stirring. Possible thunderstorms. Not good. My heat related migraines hit as soon as I got home to this heat & humidity. So that's a daily ordeal. To say I feel like crap is the understatement.

Everyone stay as cool as you can. Be careful. Have some fun. Catch y'all later.
Ramona

I am having a slight break.. Fed 130 hungry campers this morning and prepared 100 bag lunches. And then I drove to town and dropped the car off at the garage. On mom's birthday we took her a birthday cake in the afternoon and I got a flat tire. The tire is ruined.. I have all wheel drive and so I now must replace all four tires - two for sure - but all four because they are getting worn. While there at the garage doing a semi annual service and inspection.. Garage just called need something called a rotor and pads... Something is metal on metal and I'm told it needs to be repaired now..
Go ahead.. But I need the car back by 3:30 as I must return to work and cook supper. Today is BBQ day..
Delivery Truck is late .. It has been coming around 7 am .. Today I leave at 9:30 and no truck but I gave clear instructions to the new postion created this week to my dishwasher now front of house facilitator.
This position. Is a buffer between me and dishwashers - we are hiring one more person and having a rotating staff helper .. This facilitator will also be trained to serve some meals so I can have a break - ie - an afternoon and supper off occasionally - this is good if we have the right person.. Right now we do. A young 26 year old who is mature and responsible - and the owner after talking with me has made this transition .. And offered her a job next year if she wants to come back. Let's see how it works out..

Dalhouise likes air conditioners - he sits in front of our new one when we are at the condo.. And now in the car he get in between the seats and let's the cool air blow on him while driving with us. King Dalhouise is no fool of a dog.

So now I wait at home for the phone call telling me my car is ready and my visa is going to cry.

Wrote your address down so I'll have it. Now to find the postcards. I'm having all sorts of problems with misplacing things since I got home. I lost my glucometer so I had to get another one yesterday. I'll get them out to you as soon as I find them. Sorry it's taking so long Marty. Apparently while I was gone we had one day where there was close to 8 inches of rain that fell. My son said the apartment below his had over a foot of water in it and that out in the ditch the water was probably chest deep. Glad I missed that! At my brother's they had one day where part of the area - not at his house but close by was all flooded out too. It's just hit and miss. I live in far western Kentucky near the junction of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers (about 7 miles from them by car).

Sounds like you've been extremely busy Marty! Wow! Glad you got the air conditioner. I got home about 5:15pm last night from my brother's. Then at 7pm we had a family get together at a local restaurant with the cousins, our two aunts and my son. That was a lot of fun. We celebrated two of the cousins birthdays. That was a first time for my brother to be here for one of them - I don't think he knew what to think! We're a crazy bunch.
While at my brother's I did lots and lots of walking. Did a few short hikes. It rained a lot but not as much as it did here at home! We had a great 4th of July celebration with a bbq at some friends and then my brother had a fireworks show which I video taped (I hope it's all on the card!)
Now I'm home and the hot humid weather is in full swing - ugh!
Oh Marty, I have a couple post cards to send you once I remember where I put your address!
Take care y'all!

Two hundred hungry campers everyday for the last two weeks... I'm exhausted. It has been extremely hot. The thermometer read 36 / 40 c everyday as well. At least I have been drinking lots of water.
At night there has been no relief.. Hot and sticky. My wife even has allowed me to have a fan.. She hates fans - says they make her sick. I shower .. A few moments later I am just as sweaty as I was before the shower.. So my point is.. My sleeps have been restles, waking up uncomfortable and tired.
But today and tomorrow I am off.. Time to recharge - to get some needed recuperation.
So off to Vancouver we drive.. Stuck - dead stop both lanes of traffic as emergency crews deal with an accident. I hope no one dies.. But it seems very serious. 45 minutes late we are on our way.. At least it was overcast and 20 c as we sat on the highway waiting for the road to open.
We are heading to Vancouver to buy an air conditioner if we can find any. We do a couple of stops in large stores to be told they don't have any left.. Not looking good for success ..
We go to Costco - my membership has expired over a year ago - we are hopeful they might have an air conditioner - nope - but I did renew my membership and get a new credit card. And a hotdog.
Ok onto the mall. Final stop with not really much hope of finding an conditioner - surprise - surprise - we go into Sears and they have just received a shipment of them. We buy one..
Service sucked - but I have it and now I'm just waiting to turn it on.
( it was laid down in my car to get it home so we have to,wait three hours before I plug it in and turn it on.). It better work....
Oh we came home - sat it up,right - went out to eat supper..
Now I'm writing and resting..

So it begins .. Again.. Summer camp is about to start on Saturday and we have 200 registered.
20 will be leaving two days later to go on a canoe trip leaving me 180 to feed three meals every day. This is a large enough number to cause stress.. Where and the world am I going to store all this food.
Right now at 6:30 AM I am expecting the delivery truck. Over 8000$ in supplies are on their way. And this is most for four days, with a little carry over. I will be going to a three day delivery, more stress as I have to stay on top of inventory and cooking all this food / storage, and reordering. Yes I do it all my self ...
200 people wow... 180 people for days on end.. Spring groups usually only have 180 for a day or two at the most and then they leave and the next group is small so we can bounce back. Now there is no bouncing back just. More and more mouths to feed.. Food to order, food to store, food to cook...

Marty, enjoy your weekend off. I hope you have a very enjoyable one too.

I know what you mean about the no air in the car! My 87 year old Aunt has an old Cadillac Coup Deville and it "has" air conditioning however you don't ever feel it - at least I don't especially on the hot days. Plus she has an inner ear problem so we can't roll down the windows. I was so hot after going to the doctor yesterday - we both had appointments with our regular primary doctor. Then we went to breakfast, then I took her to the bank and grocery store. Came home with the car because she had a chiropractor appointment about 1 1/2 hours later. So I took my dog for a short walk. Came in to cool off. Then went out to get in the car. I was almost in, when I guess the wind caught the door and it slammed on my foot. So yesterday I had a very painful foot. I went and picked her up, then we went to the bank again, then to her appointment then went to get an afternoon snack and came home. I was exhausted but mainly because I got about 4 1/2 hours sleep, plus I overslept and had to rush rush rush yesterday morning. My alarm didn't go off for some reason.
Today's better. We have all sorts of weather advisories out since Tropical Rainstorm Bill is supposed to hit here today. I'm hoping it stays north and west of us because my Aunt has another chiropractor appointment today at 2pm. At least I've managed one walk with my dog this morning.
Tomorrow I leave for two weeks at my brother's house in NE Tennessee. Not sure what kind of things we'll get into this year. I think we're going to the rhododendron gardens on Sunday up on Roan Mountain on the NC/TN state lines. Maybe to the rhododendron festival. I hope I like festivals and they just don't have any around where I live. There's some wildlife center in Virginia my brother heard about and we may go there. We usually always go down in the Smoky Mountains for some adventures, though they may be curtailed due to the recent bear attack on the NC side of the park because we go there too. So who knows.
I probably won't get to check in the group until I get back unless I can find some free wifi somewhere. I don't have that much data on my phone, my son cut it back because I wasn't using it so we'll see how this goes.
I'm hoping to go to a lot of scenic places since I got a new camera and haven't really had much of a chance to use it.
Take care all. I'll try to check in again if possible before I leave. Still got my packing to do among a dozen other things.

21 days of work with no day off.. I am so ready for this weekend. But first I need to get through today. 85 people here for breakfast and lunch and 250 for a BBQ supper.
I hope to go to a movie, maybe find a geo cache or two, possibility of going to a bird sanctuary, and of course my wife wants to go to a mall to do some shopping.
Oh - my mother has been complaining so I must go visit her as well..
These are my weekend plans.
I hope you all are about to enjoy your weekend and have some rest too.

Whew! Glad you got past that. I would have been a nervous wreck and so stressed out. Hoping you can take a break over the weekend and relax some.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. No weddings this weekend - yay! I have things I need to do but I just can't get myself motivated enough to do them. I've been having daily migraines since May 26th. So I've been taking an extra dose of my daily meds and some excedrin to stop it in its tracks. I think after 50 years of them I finally figured out how to deal with them and my doctor is in agreement with me. So even though I've had downtime it could be worse. My son hung the new room darkening curtains in my bedroom, the living room and dining room yesterday which helped. It's not nearly as bright in the house so that helps my eyes some too. My migraine wasn't at it's worst nearly as long today so that was a major plus.
Take care y'all. This time next Friday I'll be finishing packing my bags for my trip. My dog will be really pissed off too. My son's coming to stay with her while I'm gone. Take care.

Stress no more for a few weeks... Today was our follow up health inspection. I had the kitchen, dish room, dish/ laundry room and my dey storage spotless. Two days of cleaning and wiping everything. It looked good - no it looked fantastic and we were feeding 100 people ( 230 people yesterday lunch) on top of that yesterday to boot..
She came and looked - then talked with me for two hours.. We have a couple of issues like a new cooler/ freezer unit to give me more dry storage space.
In my dry storage I have four freezers and so I need more storage space.. But the cooler is also at max capacity so just get me a new extra one. This won't happen this year but I can see it happening for next year..
Talked about my salad bar .. She doesn't like salad bars... But after our talk we have solutions that makes her a little more acceptable to ours..
She might come back this fall only for a check in..
Two hours - this is my longest time ever spent with a health inspector..
Secretly maybe she was trying to catch me..

Loved the photos! Beautiful! Looks like you and Noni had a good time too. When I go somewhere my dog acts like it's the end of the world and is so happy when I show back up. She'll really be pissed off at me when I leave for two weeks on the 20th of this month. She gets mad when the suitcase comes out the night before and I start to pack. My son's supposed to come and stay with her. If not I guess I won't go but he says he will. So we'll see what happens in the time leading up. Precious is 13 and has health issues so I won't put her in a kennel or board her, it's been too stressful for her in the past.
Well, the weather has turned to it's wonderful (not) summer time mode of hot and humid. It's been close to 90 and the humidity has made it feel close to 100 already. The weather service finally decided to issue a heat advisory today. It'll probably be worse since tonight's my cousin's wedding and it's an outdoor wedding.
I only have one doctor appointment this coming week. That's my quick appointment on Thursday. The following Thursday I have two appointments, one in the morning which isn't too bad and then one that afternoon, the long one.
Two weeks from today I leave. I'll be without internet the two weeks I'm gone so I'll be invisible unless I find a reliable safe source I can use periodically.
Take care everyone. Stay safe & have fun!

So Sunday was an off day. I haven't any more of these for three weeks I think.. If I hear correct the next three weekends have bookings and this means I am working.
So on my last off day we / Noni and I made the most of it.
Church - a little hike at Brandywine Falls - a long stroll window shopping in Whistler and an enjoyable supper at the Keg on the third floor patio.
Even though it was only one day it felt like a whole weekend : yet not to busy to tire us out.

Thus ended the date with Noni.
No not yet - we stopped in to say hi to my Mom then it was time to go back to camp and spend time with the Dalhouise. I had to leave him home as I knew we would be going in and out of stores and eating out.. He was a happy pooch when we got home - you would think we left him for weeks or something...

Looks like the cookout was a real success. I can almost smell and taste the food through the photos!
Had my dog at the groomer on Wednesday and the vet Thursday morning. She's just got an irritation where her hair was long over her butt area and I have an ointment to put on there which is hard to do by myself. The vet said it was a two person job but since I live alone it's a difficult one person job. Friday and Saturday nights my dog had a rough night. One night I slept (most uncomfortably) on the couch so she could be near me. She's got cataracts in both eyes and is having trouble judging distances when she goes to jump up and had missed several times landing pretty hard.
Wedding #1 is in the books and my cousin & her new husband are off on their honeymoon. We worked Friday night getting the fellowship hall at the church decorated. The groom's Mom and I had food prep duty. One of my cousins helped after his Mom left. Made a pistachio salad, a cherry fluff salad, fixed chicken salad sandwiches (the chicken salad was from Sam's Club) on wheat and on white rolls, then fixing the roll ups (flour tortillas with chive garlic cream cheese, ham and swiss cheese on them). Got them wrapped and the rest of the family were decorating and ironing tablecloths. Then another cousin brought me home.
Saturday morning we got to the church early and finished food prep and put out the non-perishable items. Then the wedding ceremony. Then we snuck out to put out all the food and get the punch made and started filling cups with soda. By the time we got the food out we already had people in line starting to fill up their plates. They weren't even waiting on the bride and groom to get in there! Needless to say the bride and groom were the last in line ahead of us servers.
Then came clean up. By the time I got the dishes washed (serving dishes - the plates and "silverware" were plastic and disposable as was the glasses). Then we wrapped the food that was left over up. Several of us fixed us a "to-go" box with sandwiches, salads and cupcakes for later.
While the bride and groom were posing for photos, we cleaned up and got the tablecloths and decorations all up. So there was very little work for them after they got done.
This week will probably be crazy too. I've been hurting really badly for the past two days, but I figured I would. My back is bad and I can only take so much. Plus I had moved my big plants outside - banana tree, pineapple plants and a few others. There's other pineapple plants that need to go out too but they're even bigger and heavier. Plus all my plants need to be repotted which will be a challenge on the bigger ones - getting them straight in the pots. Finding places for them will be a challenge too!
Tomorrow I take my Aunt to the chiropractor again and probably she'll have another appointment with him later in the week plus she has errands that need to be run. Thursday my son's coming out to take me to run my errands. Friday's up in the air because I could be needed to help with wedding #2 which is Saturday night.
So I'm just trying to maintain everything and keep on keeping on. Take care y'all. Catch up with you later.

day's end and now I can have a rest with the family

So on the BBQ I cooked hotdogs and beef burgers and some chicken. In the oven I baked vegi dogs and vegi burgers.
Salad bar had about 40 items on it. Such as toss salad, spinach salad, potato salad, pasta with tuna, pasta salad, couscous, bean salad and there was a few more. We had sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, - oh I can't remember all we had lots to choose from.
I also placed out some tomato soup, and navy bean soup and a insert of fried rice.

Like I said the owner is happy.. All the guess we're very satisfied.
Even before I began cooking I had people coming up to me. Marvelling at the aroma of charcoal whisping around the camp. People were surprised it was not gas but a real BBQ ..
My point exactly to the owner later.. I think he thought I could not BBQ for this many and long.. Two hours out there in the sun and waves of heat from the BBQ and the sun - I loved every moment .. And the food was a success too

Oh I know that all too well. Will be leaving for the vet in about 20 minutes. I'm having trouble waking up because I barely got 5 hours of sleep last night and I'm so tired. I'll probably take a nap when I come home. Hopefully nothing else will happen today and I can relax. Tomorrow night's decorating the church for the wedding of my cousin. Then Saturday's the wedding. I haven't even looked at next week's schedule. Hopefully nothing, but I know that's not the case. Have a fantastic day y'all.

I'd say you're definitely saddle sore with the small seat and construction. Glad you were able to enjoy the day.
Had my dog at the groomer today - she looks a 100% better. She may have a UTI or just incontinence due to age the groomer called the vet and talked with them then called me and I called the vet's office. So needless to say in for an appointment with the Vet at 8am to see if they can decide what's going on. Haven't noticed any problems since her hair was trimmed up nicely, so we'll see what they say at the vets office. Been trying to keep watch over her tonight.
Yesterday was stressful taking my 87 year old Aunt to the retina specialist - it's one of those all afternoon things plus she's having to get shots in her eye because of fluid build up which the shots are helping dry up.
Friday night is helping my cousin set up for her wedding on Saturday. I'm already tired! Stress is just too much

Saddle sore, but feeling engergzed. Putting on my cool looking mirror sunglasses I hop onto my bike saddle and head out the gate. Construction.. Half the road is missing and the other half is cracked and pot holed. But it is sunny, and I have supper all prepared (lasagna) so I have time to go for a long bike ride. We - my wife and I drive the four miles to the single lane bridge, ah we keep going to the four mile / eight mile viewing spot along the river bank. Do I stop? No even though this is the furthest we have ever gone on this road. We keep going and going to we reach some houses... We come to the house with the huge yellow smiley face hanging on a tree. This is where cell overage ends when leaving town towards the camp.
At this point we turn around. I am not sure what way the wind is blowing. I thought we were facing it but as we return back home it still feels like we are facing it, it is becoming more difficult to make those peddles go round and round.. Are we going up hill? It looks flat and when driving the car I never notice a difference in engine sounds.
I now and then look up to admire the mountain being swallowed by a cloud - just majestic.
I notice the wild roses in bloom as I coast on past splattering the brush along side the road with pink blossoms - not to mention the wild berries that are still in flowering mode.
We are well past the construction zone and I only hear the wind in my ears and the chirping of birds. I must make time to to do this again, but not today as I seem to have sat a little too much on that tiny little seat.

Dalhouise is not a happy camper today.. But I don't care! It is for his own good even though he doesn't understand.
Ring - ring - ring.. Our neighbour phones us.. His dog was killed last night by a cougar. He is phoning to let us know to keep our dogs tied or in the house as this large cougar is hanging around the area - also we must be aware to make sure none of our campers are wandering alone either - safety...
anyways I pick up Dalhouise and carry him back inside the cabin. Later in the morning I go get him and fasten him to the chains I have. One of the staff replied that they have never seen him tied up before.. I replied. It happens now and then. I have one at the cabin entrance and one at the entrance to the dining tent, just for occasions like today. The one by e cabin does get used more often in the middle of the night if Dalhouise decides to wake me up to go outside because I don't want him eaten..
So now he is sitting with me on the swing tied.. I guess this OK .. He is happy to be sitting with me.. ** I am off now - it is the weekend.. Hurray

Hey y'all, just to let you know the coming weeks (through July 4th) are going to be insane! I've got so much going on - my calendar is running over with things coming up! I don't know which way is up. Which means, I'll check in when I can. Don't fret I haven't forgotten you!
My week ahead: tomorrow's supposed to be running errands with my son - grocery shopping and I want to look at recliners - I need a good comfy place to sit and put my feet up. Tomorrow night is a bachelorette party for my cousin, who's getting married on May 30th.
Friday - my brother from Tennessee is coming up to help me with my flower beds - he'll probably yell because they're overgrown but every time I try to work on them we have rain rain and more rain. Then that afternoon I'm supposed to take my Aunt to the chiropractor.
Saturday - work on the flower beds with my brother
Sunday - my brother will probably go home unless I can convince him to stay another night
Not sure about Monday.
Tuesday - taking my Aunt to the retina specialist & she'll probably get another shot in the eye for the fluid that's leaking in there.
Wednesday - taking my dog to the groomer
Thursday - I think I'm free, not sure yet
Friday - my cousins & I are helping another cousin get ready for her wedding on Saturday - setting up the area for the reception and possibly the wedding site
Saturday - my cousin's wedding
then the next few days I think are open for now
the following Saturday - another cousin's wedding
The next week is one doctor appointment
The next week is two doctor appointments and I leave for my brother's house in Tennessee until after July 4th. He doesn't have internet so unless I take my laptop to my best friend's house and get on their internet I'll just have to use my phone and my son changed the data plan on it so now I have less. Which means I'll be very limited while I'm gone.
After July 4th, I'll be coming home but not sure when. I'll be here until around Labor Day (maybe before) when I leave to go to my brother's in Tennessee. Then I think it's September 11th, we head down to Florida for two weeks - nice thing there is I'll have internet access.
So I'll check in as I can. I'm sure it won't be daily but I'll get by as often as I can. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend. It's here already! Geez where has the year gone. Take care & have a great week!

Whew! Glad last week is in the books! I had a doctor appointment on Monday - everything's fine. Tuesday my Aunt had a doctor appointment that I took her to and helped her with errands. Wednesday my Aunt had a chiropractor appointment. While she was there I ran next door to the drug store and picked up my meds. Friday was a long day! First I had to help my Aunt to her chiropractor appointment, then we went to eat, then to the grocery store, then to the Dollar General Store. Got home and a short time later the kids came in: my son and his two friends and their two little ones (ages 2 and 4). Fixed them dinner and got the kids settled in watched the Tigger Movie and a Winnie the Pooh movie. I was exhausted!
Saturday morning was the bridal brunch, one of my cousins came to pick me up about 8:15am, Good thing because it was pouring down rain and thundering. The rain was setting in for the day. We got to the brunch and I helped set things up and washed a lot of dishes. We got out of there by 12:30pm. Then we had a heck of a time getting home because of several accidents due to the rain, so we had a lot of detouring to do. It was almost 2pm by the time I got home. By 4pm the rain stopped so I walked my dog. By 6pm another cousin called to say she was on her way to pick up my Aunt and I for her brother's 50th birthday dinner. So I walked over there and my Aunt was sitting in her car waiting for us. My cousin got there about the time I did. So off we went. The dinner lasted until 8:30pm so it was almost 9pm by the time I got home. I was so tired.
Sunday I woke up and could barely move. My costochondritis was flaring up, my right ribs were jabbing me (they twist together sometimes) and my legs were still swollen and painful. So I rested most of the day. It rained off and on all day. I did manage to walk my dog twice.
Today I woke up in severe pain again. Took something for it and it's calmed down the pain but it's still raging. It's rained most of the day. My yard is a swamp and my flower beds have sprouted all sorts of weeds and grass, I'll never get them cleared out. More rain is in the forecast for today. So far I've managed one walk with my dog.
Tomorrow is another chiropractor appointment for my Aunt, not sure when the 2nd one will be. I don't see that he's done a thing for her but she believes he has, so she continues on seeing him. She wants me to see him but there's no way on earth I'll see him or anyone else. I have too many things wrong with my spine and ribs to let anyone touch them. I'm afraid they'll make things worse like the last time did.I don't need the added stress or pain.

Sounds like everyone's had a busy week. Marty I enjoyed the pictures. I don't understand how they do holidays either. It's crazy and stupid to me anyway how they do them.

my grandmother had a tin roof .. and was happy to have a tin roof on my farm house - loved that sound.. it also had a tin ceiling - to sick to get it down to sell off - let the fire dept burn it for an exercise - cried a lot but it was amazing to see all those young people learning about fighting fires ...
do not understand - memorial day weekend is the 23-25 ??? my brother is in up state NY and says they possibly get snow in may .. when I was in MD it was usually cold and rainy

I don't understand why the May 24 weekend is a week before the 24th. I remember in my youth going to the cottage on this long weekend - this is opening season for most cottages and trailers and for planting the gardens.. Not now.. Middle of the month is just to early.. Cold rains, possiblity of snow still looms heavy.. I think the government should change it back to the May 24th. And keep it there.
I did have a good day yesterday. I walked around the Boundary trail, sat by the pond spotting some birds and relaxing, sat on the swing with my pooch Dalhouse, rode my bike to the beach with my wife, watched a movie on TV, had a nap and I let my wife cut my hair.
I think that covers everything ...
Now today... It is pouring rain right now.. Sounds pleasant as it hits the tin cabin roof, and pours off onto the ground. Looks nice too as I peek out the windows and see rain falling unto green tree leaves. I think today another restful, napping afternoon is in store for me. This morning we will drive into town to attend church - have a stop to visit my mother at the nursing home. That might be a little stressful.. Depending on her mood.

So sorry for your great loss.

Deliver came - delivery came around 8:30 ish we were just finishing breakfast. So all my stress and anxiety was not needed... But I will make sure I stock pile enough food to the future to cover delivery days. Last year we had nothing but issues with them coming late in the afternoon many times, I was told this issue was solve... Sales people are liars.

Today if it is not raining the plan is to rest,do some easy hiking and or do some cycling, keep an eye open for any bears wandering along the road and hopefully see some birds and get a picture of these. Most importantly not to be ran over by any crazy speeding intoxicated car drivers.
Long weekend is here... Hurray.. Pay day was yesterday, I am off for three whole days. I usually fill theses days up with activities - but so far I have no plans other than the above mentioned

Good morning - kind of..
I had a stressful night worried about today's delivery. My lunch ingredients are on that truck.
The truck until last delivery has been arriving around 630 - 8 AM perfect timing. Last delivery truck arrived 12:30 just after guess sat down to eat lunch. I am to be dropped numbers 1- 5 to get here early - I was drop number 9.
What to do if it is late?
I can change menu from perogies to Mac and cheese... So we can feed the 115 people..
Supper is here.. Turkey dinner
Tomorrow's breakfast is here
Tomorrow's lunch I can impervise ..
So should I just refuse this order if it comes late and reorder everything for next Tuesday? .
Long weekend OFF ...???

I hope and pray it's a quiet hurricane season too. My Dad and youngest brother live in Florida (on the Atlanta) and my Dad has alzheimers so if there's a hurricane I don't know what my brother would do.

Love the photos. I need to get mine uploaded to my computer and see what I can share.

Will have another busy week taking my 87 year old Aunt to her appointments - tomorrow our primary care physician and then Wednesday & Friday to her chiropractor. Saturday we're supposed to go to a bridal brunch, then that night a birthday dinner I guess for my cousin's 50th birthday. Still waiting for the details.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Looks like it was very busy for you with the 200 people all week. I'd be exhausted!

Not much is going on we've had rain today and yesterday. Fortunately no severe weather yet. I think I saw somewhere that Ana was now a Tropical storm. Stay safe.
