No, you did not jump ship. To me the complication of creating a healthy eating style is that food is so much more than just sustenance. Eating with others is a social/emotional experience. Imagine centuries ago when we didn't know if we would have enough food for the next day or the next season. Yet, through trust, friendship and kinship, we shared what we had. Think of the emotional impact that give to eating together.
