Well, the rest of the pan of hot cross buns I bought yesterday and pigged out on that instead on dinner is in the garbage because I caught myself taking one this morning for breakfast. Really woman you know better, to be honest I didn't enjoy it this morning so guess it is out of my system. I can't remember the last time I bought them I know I didn't buy them last year. For some reason banana cream anything doesn't appeal to me either even though I like bananas.

Here's to decent no deluge weather, but I am sure you all will have a great time anyway.

Haha, yeah my thing now is squeezing into the my running gear....and my underwear...and everything! Two days ago it was cookies and cream rice krispy treats, yesterday it was peanut butter rice krispy treats. Fortunately I don't like bananas so the banana cream pie rice krispy treats weren't a threat!

Last forecast I heard for the weekend/Ragnar is good for Friday, maybe raining on Saturday, not cold though. I am hoping we can avoid rain until we are done - hints from the morning news weather forecast that maybe the rain will hold off until late Saturday and that would be perfect - we will probably get done by 5:00 p.m. or so. My day won't be over then though, we will have to clean the van and take it back but at least we won't have to worry about lightning at that point in time.

Oh my goodness, we are all in trouble when Gloria is losing control of treats, krispy or otherwise! Talk about getting bigger and loss of control, wake up call last night had to squeeze myself into a pair of pj's...really.

We really dodged the weather again last night, hope it is clear for Ragnar this week end.

Off to get groceries and the last of the senior discount at Krogers. I don't shop there much so won't miss it.

Didn't get to run yesterday, yes, the weather is conspiring against me. And a crazy day today, never a dull moment, haha! I was up so late last night, one of our teammates for Ragnar had to drop out at the last minute so I was trying to find a replacement. Then I got up late this morning, traffic was awful - you know the story! Someone here at the office has been bringing different flavored rice krispy treats every day - they need to stop - I can't control myself - yesterday it was cookies and cream, today it is peanut butter! Oh my butt, it's getting bigger!!!!!

Oh my Gloria, hope you got out early and will sit out the storm in Chuy's. It is dark as dusk here right now. Rumblin' but no lightening. That was nice of Skippy to give you only a warning.

I was going to walk down by the dam a little while ago, but that dark rolled in way too fast so scraped it.

Well, nothing new everyone stay dry and safe.

I can't believe how warm it got yesterday. After work I was going out for a run and I got outside and saw the dark skies....hmmmm, had to think about that. I was hoping for a few miles but I got about 2.75. Just didn't think it was wise to hang around outside for much longer. I'm glad I called it because the lightning ended up being fierce! I also realized I had forgotten to get oatmeal over the weekend so I hightailed it to Publix for that and when I left there I forgot to turn the headlights on - it's so bright around there that I didn't notice but would have certainly noticed as soon as I got in my neighborhood where it is not well lit. Lo and behold, the cop noticed and pulled me over, just a warning.

I've got training today and tomorrow from 8 - 5. I hope I don't have to stay in it all day. I want to go to Chuy's with my husband - we haven't done that in months. And I get off at 3:30 - it will stink to have to stay until 5:00. I thought traffic would be nice this week because of spring break but yesterday going home it was a real booger.

Y'all, can you believe how hot it is outside? I went out to get coffee a while ago, it's 80 degrees!

Thinking of you Gwenn!

Of course I am spoiled by the weather Kelly! Very nice today I think, rain tomorrow. I need to take today off from running and do 10 miles tomorrow but with the iffy weather, I am not sure how that is going to work for me.

Yes, the changes to the main page are terrible, so many complaints and yet they don't listen. It's all about the money. They do this sort of thing from time to time and just aggravate people.

Good luck tomorrow Gwenn. If you aren't enjoying something might as well give it up especially if it isn't close by. You seem to enjoy where you work though.

Oh the folks in the ivory tower have gotten an earful about the changes but I doubt it would make a difference.

Have a good week, let's try not to get spoiled with all this nice sunshine the past couple of days. It has been cold in FL this past week, especially at night.

Nice job Gloria! It was nice weather as it warmed up but the mornings were cold. Tomorrow it will be 74 or warmer. That's about the weather I like.

Doing fine over here. A doctor procedure tomorrow and some acupuncture appointments. Busy day. Then back to work on Tuesday. I feel like I have been off for a month but it has been a week! I resigned from volunteering at the library. It just wasn't the same since the guy I worked with moved to another department and I wasn't enjoying it anymore. It was also annoying to always fight to get parking. I'll look for something else to do one day or just go to work more.

P.S. I hate the way they changed the main Sparkpeople page.

Good job on the miles Gloria! (Thought I sent along my congrats yesterday) Oh my Sonic's tater tots! My way around them is to have my water with me and order a sammie only, but a big downfall with them and I don't even think it's on the menu anymore are chicken fried steak sammies, guess I ate so many of them way back when that I don't look to have one anymore. Yes, my bod appreciates it I sure. To be honest, I usually only scoot in for unsweet ice tea during their happy hour. However, Bojangles moved in next to them and it is hard to keep the car from turning in for a biscuit.

Looks like a great selection you are taking with you. I think even my old standby efit bars are soy based, we'll keep our eyes and ears open for you. To be honest haven't bought any of that stuff in awhile.

For sure, who can complain about the weather - that was some gully washer Friday night though! Everyone, enjoy what's left of the week end and Gwenn, hope all is well with you!

Pretty morning, a little bit cool though. I am thinking about my food for Ragnar, I need to start getting stuff organized and ready. I am thinking almonds/walnuts, pineapple cups, maybe some protein/energy bars and some yogurt. Oh, and probably some shelf stable chocolate milk. I am not wanting to take much. Last year we stopped for dinner Friday and breakfast Saturday so that should be plenty. Wish I could think of something easy and portable with lots of protein that is not a protein bar...I am a little funny about protein bars since most of them have soy and other sketchy stuff in them.

I hardly ever get dressing on my salad, I either take my own or ask for oil and vinegar if they have it...if not, lemon or lime to squeeze on to it, or salsa...those work well. There are some dressings....like the honey mustard at Demos, that I really like. But usually I don't get that either.

Bright and beautiful sun today - after the very dense fog lifted this morning! Went out and did my 18 miles - it was slow but I felt really good, not exhausted and my legs didn't feel too bad. Sonic sponsored one of our water stops and there were TATER TOTS! Now that is something I pretty much never indulge in...it was risky for me to eat any with my stomach the way it is but I ate about five of them and my tummy behaved and they were the best five tater tots of my life - hahaha!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We're all Irish today!

Take it easy this week end Gwenn.

Jason's in Houston used to have quite a variety of salads, there is one that opened in Mt.J. have yet to go there. Anyway, enjoy your lunch, hope the sun makes an appearance! I get weird looks when I order salad and leave it nekked - some dressings just don't appeal to me but I would have a hard time passing it on a Caesar, although I will ask them not to be heavy handed. If I'm paying that much for lettuce I want to taste it.

Ahhhhh, Friday. Rest day for me and going to lunch with three of my girlfriends...hope they pick somewhere that I can eat relatively "clean" - clean being relative of course since if I don't buy it/cook it myself, how do I really know? But eating out is such a way of life for me that it really doesn't matter. I am thinking we could go to Fresh to Order and I could get a nice salad....they might pick Jason's Deli - and if they do, I will just get a Caesar side salad with no dressing and no croutons....add chicken. There are options! Supposed to be rainy, I am sure we will go somewhere very close.

Hey guys!

Glad to hear your CT scan went well, Kelly! Glad you could avoid the Trump traffic yesterday, Gloria. I took off today and should be back to work on Tuesday. Had a procedure yesterday and I am doing pretty good today. I will be happy for some warmer temps this weekend.

Toby is back to his normal self, so that's a relief!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Traffic on Lebanon Pike into town was manageable because they did the rolling road blocks ahead of the caravan so nothing was shut down for long periods of time.

Thanks Gloria, it was good news indeed. No didn't make it up there. They are doing a kitchen reno, spent one long afternoon at Lowe's working on a layout then had to go back last night for the final drawing so he will come on in tomorrow for a very early lunch at McNamara's. They are headed to St. George's Island in FL right after school lets out tomorrow.

Enjoy the warm sunshine, geez it was c c c old out this morning (did an early am airport run for friends). Oh and happy St. Paddy's Day Eve!

Yay on the CT scan Kelly, so glad to hear that. Definitely a happy dance all around for that!

Left at about 1:00, traffic was a little heavy getting out of town but once I got past the usual suspects (Trinity Lane) all was well, usual 40 minute or so commute. Don't know how it ended up being around here but grateful I missed it whatever it was...though working from home while husband is working from home can be an interesting time as he was on conference calls for most of the afternoon - with his phone on speaker so I could hear all of it. And he keeps the volume on his phone up and his voice volume is loud too (we both can't hear well but he especially has some hearing impairment). But it was still worth it being home.

Did you make it to Gallatin Kelly?

Gwenn, if you are lurking, is Toby doing okay?

My understanding is they are going to start closing downtown at noon so you should be okay. It is going to be a real bear around here while he gets to The Hermitage to downtown then back to bna. I'm supposed to go up to Gallatin later this afternoon, we shall see.

As nice as those skylights are, it can be a problem at times. A flashback from when we lived in WA, had a skylight in our bedroom, same problem with the moon.

Good news on the CT, everything is better than evah as were preliminary labs, we will do labs in 6 months and if they are good too I won't need another CT for a year, so happy dancin' here.

Gwenn, hope all is well with you!

Just make sure you have a snack, water and a full tank of gas if you must venture out anywhere near potential roadblocks.

Crazy about the sleep, maybe it is the moon Kelly? Wasn't it full? It shines brightly into my skylights...I slept pretty well last night. I woke up a few times but mostly got some good sleep.

I am really hoping my manager will let me go home to work...I had to come in for a meeting but maybe if I leave around 1:00 I will miss the worst? I really should go to my personal training session....I missed both sessions last week so should try not to miss this week. That is at noon and then I could go home.

Hope your doctor's visit went well Kelly! Things are just dandy on my end...cold though!

Sorry about your restless night...can't think of anything else you could have done (maybe your bod was celebrating the pampering you gave it, I know a sport massage isn't necessarily pampering) But I think something is in the air because I have been restless the past couple of nights too, the clock said 11p, the bod said it was tired so I crawled in and bingo - wide awake!

I hope you get to work from home in the afternoon. Traffic around here is a mess to begin with so it will be a nighmare too.

Off for my quarterly Doc visit, outside of the scale all should be good.

Meanwhile, stay warm!

Cold today and maybe a lot of wind...not to worry though, spring is still here, just decided to take a break for a couple of days I guess.

So Trump will be here tomorrow. I have some friends who are so excited about that and I am trying to explain to them, it isn't a party affiliation with me, it doesn't matter WHICH president it is, Bush, Obama, Trump, etc....but traffic will be a NIGHTMARE. I would work from home but I have a meeting I need to be at in the morning so maybe I will see if my manager will let me work from home in the afternoon.

Kelly, I had my massage - sports massage so not that relaxing haha! Lower body only. Then I grabbed a salad for dinner, did a few things to prep for today (lunches, etc) and then I took a hot bath and read and listened to some nice music. Had some chamomile tea and would you believe, I slept so badly! I thought for sure I would have a great night's sleep! Oh well! I felt like I wanted chai for breakfast but I resisted the urge to stop on the way!

Hahahahaha, love your picture Kelly! Made my morning!

I am exhausted, not just the time change but the whole weekend was rough. I got up early Friday for work and we left around 1:00 for Paducah. We were at the visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 and then out to dinner with friends so it was a late night. Up early Saturday for breakfast with my in-laws. Then the funeral, cemetery (my husband was a pall bearer) and then back to the church for lunch. Then we drove home. As much as I hate funerals, it is kind of bittersweet because we always see a lot of good friends who we don't see often enough. Lots of memories shared and the sad times are also good times. Yesterday I got up and did 13 miles, solo. Honestly I was glad I didn't do it with my peeps on Saturday because I am not a huge fan of snow running. Just scares me, afraid I will slip and fall. Did my 13 miles, then my father-in-law came to help my husband get the rest of the tree out of the yard. Took him to eat at House of Kabob and then to Bass Pro. By the time we got home it was late afternoon and I had to do Kroger (I only go there maybe once every two or three weeks but had to get some stuff that I was out of and couldn't get at the other store) and Publix, do my laundry and prepare for the week. I don't know when I actually got to bed but I am soooo tired! Hate to do this but I have already taken Tylenol and am using peppermint oil because I am already on the verge of a headache. And stopped at Starbucks even though I need to stop that bad habit because I just needed a hot drink with a little caffeine....just gotta get through this day! I've got a massage this afternoon, that should help me relax and rest well tonight - of course when I get home I will be continuing with all of the chores I didn't have time for over the weekend!

HooRay for working from home Gloria. Safe and warm travels north. I knew we were in for a wild ride, seemed like even the weather nerds couldn't keep up with the popup cells, man oh man they got pounded good to the south. So it's good you made it home safely. It stalled over us for awhile but no real damage. Looks like Toni got a real dose of hail.

Already it feels like the temp is dropping, good thing we have sunshine.

Hope all is well Gwenn!

Have a great week end, nothing exciting on this end of town.

Glad to hear from you Kelly! I didn't really expect those storms last night....went out south of town to run and for a gathering after the run and came out to storms. Had some fierce lightning! I am working at home this morning and then headed to Kentucky this afternoon. It seems like they are backing off on the snow, so that is good. No snow!

I've had computer issues for awhile, wanted to jump in while I have something to say hi and catch up. Did a quick look through though.

Well, I'll have to catch up later didn't realize it was so late and I'm supposed to be somewhere at 11, so will check back later. If you don't hear from me it's because of the internet.

Well, what do you all think about the weather? Snow coming? We are going to Kentucky and I am worried about getting stranded there. Seems like they might get more than we. I will take extra clothes and food just in case. In the north they have had some fierce scary winds, my parents power is out but they fortunately have a generator. I don't think my sister has a generator. I hope my dresses fit...I am about five pounds up and everything is so tight but I will need one for our friend's funeral.

Well.....what started out as a good day. I knew this was coming very soon but still....our best couples friends....the husband is my husband's best friend since probably high school...and my friend for about 24 years....the husband died this morning. He had been in the hospital since October - first CCU, then long term acute care. It's so sad.

Beautiful morning after the gloom of the past couple of days! Husband is better, didn't seem to last long. I'm guessing either a stomach bug or food poisoning. My massage was good, it was a sports massage and seemed to help, probably need more of them but it's soooo expensive. There is a great place in Franklin that does the best sports massages - only have been there one time and it set me back $120 so I haven't been back - and it's too far for me anyway, but I compare everything to that and haven't found anyone I like as much.

Nice job Gloria with your run! More than I could ever do. Glad you didn't have to work over the weekend.
How is your husband? I hope he got over his sickness. How was your massage? I haven't had one in ages.
Toby is doing ok. I gave him the pain medication they gave me for about two days. He was crazy on it and wouldn't sit still and so I stopped it. His leg seems to be better and sometimes it looks like there is a little hitch in his step.

How's it going, Kelly?

Another rainy morning I think. Not much going on here, just working working working. Story of my life, haha! I didn't run yesterday. Maybe it will work out better today.

Rainy today, and my most intense day at work for the month. I am well prepared and hoping for it all to work out. Will probably have to skip my personal trainer though because I normally cannot go to lunch on the fourth business day. I need to run but not sure how that will work with the work schedule and the weather...maybe will have to run on the treadmill, but that never goes well for me, haha.

Gwenn, how is Toby?

Kelly, did you do anything exciting over the weekend?

It seems like a fairly nice day. I'm supposed to meet a friend later for coffee and I've already been to Starbucks with Jamie. He got really sick yesterday, diarrhea and vomiting and since I cannot physically vomit, you know the fear is in me now. I am just terrified of getting a bug. I imagine I would go to the ER if something like that ever happened. I've got a massage this afternoon too, sports massage, which I thought was last Sunday and I planned my whole day around it. Now I am having to plan my day around this one and it's sort of an inconvenience but I really need it!

I was at work really late again yesterday but at least I don't have to work this weekend! Yay! My husband and the neighbor are out trying to take care of the tree. It doesn't look like they've gotten far and they've been out there a while.

We were doing 20 miles today. I did 14, the last four were not so great, the first 10 were at a pace that I needed to be for my pace group so I was pleased with that. Very hilly course today but I liked the route very much. It started out really cold but got so pretty and nice out.

Toby seems to be doing better, but he is on pain medication. They said it would be best to give it to him for at least the first 2 or 3 days, but he had 10 doses total. Hope this heals up on its own. If he is still limping next week, then they will do x-rays.

Hope your appointments went well. Kinda cold today but tomorrow should be nice! I can't believe how much they charge to get rid of dead trees!

I've been enjoying this sunshine even though I can't be out in it! Supposed to be colder today but then warming up again as the days go on.

Since I had the doctor I had to be here really late last night. We don't usually make up time for doctor's appointments but since it is our busy time and I have a time crunch, I had to be here - lots of deadlines to meet.

Is Toby doing okay Gwenn? I sure hate when they say to keep them locked up, they hate that and I don't think it helps them that much. I've had to do that a few times and they howl and cry and act up even more so than they would if they are just out running around.

My husband got someone to grind the stump up on the tree for really cheap and in fact, they went ahead and cut down another tree for us that was already dead and ground up that stump. But we still have to get the tree itself cut up or chipped. My husband says he will work on it this weekend, and my FIL says he will come on Tuesday and help with it. FIL is a logger so is probably better equipped to do that. That way we don't have to pay half a million to get it done...seriously, one quote my husband got was $1,600 for just the one tree. Ridiculous. And our insurance doesn't cover it.

Very pretty out this morning, what a difference. I've got a doctor's appointment, probably the first week of the month isn't the best time but I was having so much anxiety over all of this I had to go ahead and get it done. Probably will be seeing my gastro doctor too but I am not in as much as a hurry for that, and they are sending me to a pulmonologist, though I am not really clear why.

Oh wow! Yeah, the storms were pretty crazy and I remember that Cool Springs always gets the worst of it. I have remembered several small tornados that have hit there, especially at the mall. Glad to not be there besides the fact that they have had terrible traffic all this week. It is nice weather out there now, though!

So the vet didn't think Toby broke anything. She twisted his legs many ways and determined that he was sore at the elbow joint and so she gave him an anti-inflammatory and a course of pain meds. I don't really want to keep him doped up but I may give him some. She said as many as 3 a day, but it says every 12 hours. Said to keep him locked up in a small room where there is nowhere for him to jump around. Pretty sure cats will jump on anything! I could keep him in the bathroom, but that's not comfortable, and this being a new place and the people upstairs can sound like elephants, he would prefer to be in my room on the bed. I'm confident that he sleeps the majority of the day when I'm not here, anyway!

In the short time that my husband was gone from home, a tree went down in our front yard. Not a huge deal, it didn't hit anything, thank goodness. And he said a very large limb is down in the backyard but it didn't fall in the pool or anything so that is good. Sounds like Cool Springs got hit pretty hard.

Gwenn, good luck with the new vet. I think Toby will be okay, probably a bruise or something and he just needs a few days...funny that he decided to chase Lily, just like a cat to do that when he is injured!

Yeah, be careful out there, Kelly, when I watched the weather this morning they said expect it to hit around 9:00 but you are right, it is going to be earlier I am sure because I think they the storm was moving at 65 mph and it wasn't that far from here....it was dark and ugly to the west on the way in and I saw lightning in the distance. It was windy and we hit a spot of rain but just for a short time. In fact, my phone has been throwing alerts and I've received a phone call about a severe thunderstorm warning right now. It looks like maybe Franklin will get hardest. I am sure my dear husband is probably going to be out driving in it....he has a very bad habit of going to work late and when I left the house he was still asleep.

Dentist went well, I need to get two teeth taken care of...I never have new cavities, haven't for pretty much all of my adult life, but when I was around 11 or 12 I had a lot of them and two are in bad shape and need crowns. I've put it off for a while but it's getting to the point of being risky because if a tooth splits it can't be saved.

Kelly, was it you that asked a while back if I had a gait analysis done for my running? I think it was you....I've had it done THREE times - twice on fancy treadmills at the chiropractors office. And I NEVER get consistent readings...which is consistent with the readings on my Garmin - haha! Chiro said I have BEAUTIFUL cadence, perfect, but the stride length between each leg is not consistent. He said my LEFT leg is weaker and that is why I didn't continue going to him. My RIGHT leg is weaker and the two physical therapists I have been to picked up on that immediately and so did the two personal trainers.

Oh yikes, tornado warning! Rush hour is going to be FUN - NOT! Told my husband to turn around and go home - he was only about four miles from home. You all be careful!

Tornado Watch until 1000. Batten down the hatches, it could get ugly maybe during the 0800 rush hour. Wow, just heard Hickman county, winds up to 82mph! The sky doesn't look as nasty as it did even half an hour ago, weird. Be careful.
Gloria, you likely are already on the road.

Second day in a row, wonky wifi so I'm now tethered just to stop by since I couldn't stay on long enough yesterday (didn't think to tether up). Gloria you must have really needed that extra sleep yesterday! Hope the dental went good.

Well Gwenn, sounds like he was feeling better, chasing Lilly reminded him otherwise. Best to get him checked out as well as the new Vet. Hope he is better this morning.

Okay, got some other stuff to do and want to get it done just in case I loose this connection too. Be safe, see ya L8r.

Well...he is still limping. I thought today he was better. He was walking faster, although with a limp, just not as bad. When I came home tonight, he was ok, but THEN he decided to run after Lily and I couldn't get him to stop. So now, he's back to the bad limping again. Sigh. At lunch, I actually called a new vet to have him seen tomorrow. I truly hope it is not something extreme.

Hope your appointments went well. I have acupuncture tomorrow, thank goodness! I need some stress relief.

How is Toby doing Gwenn? Making a cat rest, hahaha! Yeah, that's easier said than done! Cats sure do have minds of their own! I love their independence! Kelly that is to funny about the bobtail cat. We had a manx, not even a stub for a tail, which is pretty rare apparently and most of those cats have some issues, and ours did as he had pretty bad arthritis in his spine. He was the most hilarious cat though, he would play tackle football with the other cats....he would hide around corners and then attack cats (or people) as they came around the corner. He was kind of like Bart Simpson, not a bad kid, but certainly full of mischief - so much fun! He was also fearless, wasn't afraid of anything except for Lemur. Another thing, he had this inner ear issue so his head was tilted to one side pretty much permanently, and he was slightly cross eyed, so he had this hilarious inquisitive look on his face, always! Haha, sure do miss that little critter, he is the one who died of lymphoma the same year my sister in law did, 2009.

Got up 45 minutes late this morning! Oh my! Not a good thing at all. It was raining a little and traffic was bad by then of course. I've got a dentist appointment today too. Busy times on my end!

Gloria, I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. She is finally at Peace. My sincere condolences.

Wow Gwenn, how could a church do a Memorial that quickly and feel right about it?

I agree, cats have a knack for fixing themselves - without using one of those 9 lives. Tough call today or Wednesday. I think it's their nature to be lounging until they are supposed to, then they won't. Molly as a kitten chased her tail, not so much as she got older. Our first cat was a tiny bobtail Siamese so she couldn't but she sure loved to chase the dog's tail. We got that dog as a less than one yr old rescue (Lab and Rhodesian Ridgeback), minicat shows up at our back door in a storm as a very young kitten so...we had two young ones underfoot! Oh the mischief and part of it was her fascination with that tail! Nice walk down memory lane.
Sorry, I have no clue as to what is going on.

Good you had little traffic going in Gloria, it is a hot mess on 40 from 109 in.

I'd say it'll be a busy week. Clear sailing with answers though.

That is so funny Gloria, Earl pestering Lemur. Good to hear he is doing well.

I've been pup sitting for the son all week end, got to keep her an extra day. She is such a character and so much fun. She is enjoying the fenced yard. Thankfully it warmed up yesterday so I had the back door open a lot - in and out, again and again and again...
Much as I will miss her, I'm not ready to even foster for now. Got too much going on and not home as much.

Well, it's trying to rain, oh wait!!! As I said it, sun peeked through. Oh well. Quiet day so doesn't matter the weather.

Gloria and Gwenn, hope the kitties are doing well and you two have great weeks in spite of the saddness. Just keep in mind they are able to look down and smile at you, or even laugh at you if need be!

Kelly

Yeah...now I am second guessing going today. So, of course, he seems better. If we go, It's either today or Wednesday! He rested a lot and I made him stay put as much as I could get him too. He's really stubborn and kept walking around when any other time he would just be a log and sleep.

Good luck at all of your appointments! I'm glad traffic wasn't too terrible, especially since it is a rainy day. I think it might be rainy tomorrow too. It will get to about 70 tomorrow also. I had a cat once who chased his tail, but it wasn't often. But I think it was just to play. Lilly sometimes bites hers but I think it's because she is trying to clean it and it won't stop moving! Ha!

I am sure Toby is fine Gwenn, you were just trying to protect him and he took a tumble but cats are good healers so his leg will probably be better before you know it. When I got my cat Charlie the Tuna (RIP Charlie) he was just eight weeks old, cutest kitten, just precious! We had just moved into our new house (which is now our old house, this was back in the 90s) and he was there and we hadn't moved anything in yet, even furniture. So there wasn't anything he could have fallen off or anything, but we were sitting on the floor eating and I noticed his leg was doing this weird twisting thing when he walked. I freaked out totally. Took him to the vet and the vet said if he was a dog, he would require surgery but since he was a cat, he would be better in two or three weeks, and he was! So I think Toby will be okay, he might have just landed weird and threw something out of whack.

So have you ever had a cat that fights with his tail? Lemur does this, he growls and chases it and I am wondering if he is having leg cramps or something because I've noticed his leg acting really weird when it happens. Also, I wonder if it is stress related because when Charlie was still around, he would beat Lemur up pretty much daily and back then Lemur did this thing a lot more often. I want to take him to the vet because it is almost like he is having a seizure when it happens, it's bizarre. It usually last just a few seconds, maybe 20 or 30 seconds and then he is fine. Last night he kind of did a thing where he flipped over while it was occurring and then just as suddenly he was okay.

Anyway, rain this morning but traffic was okay for me since I leave early and I got to work in a timely manner. I messed up and forgot to order my macchiato caffeine (I'm not supposed to have caffeine at all so probably just a little would get me going) free last night so I was wound up and got little sleep, haha!

It's going to be a busy week, dentist tomorrow and doctor on Thursday - don't know if there will be other doctor's appointments this week but there might be. I got the results of the CT scan (still haven't discussed with doctor) but based on the report I didn't see anything to fret over.

Thank you, Kelly and Gloria. I appreciate it! Yeah, I don't know what that is all about but my grandpa didn't even go.

I'm sorry to hear about your cousin, Gloria. That is just so sad.

I'm headed to the vet tomorrow, I hope, with Toby. Going to go to a new vet I guess. We had an accident from me being stupid. We went outside yesterday and I put him down for a second, and he started to run. I grabbed him and then he freaked and flipped and fell on the ground. Now his back right leg is limping. I'm just hoping it isn't anything crazy serious. Sigh.

Gwenn, so sorry, that is really fast for a memorial service, especially since you all are so far away! It seems like they would ask your mom and aunt, maybe even her sisters what they want before they make big plans.

I was doing my long run yesterday with Fleet Feet and I got a text from my mom that said my cousin had died early yesterday morning. I don't know if you recall but a while back she was in a really bad way and not expected to survive. Well, survive she did for a time but she was in such poor health, liver and kidney failure, and her body just finally shut down. She lived a very sad and difficult life. I always loved her and looked up to her, she was absolutely gorgeous as a young lady, but she let bad things that happened define her as a person and had a lot of guilt - for no reason other than that is how the human mind works. As a result, she drank a lot and there were probably drugs, and she made a lot of bad choices, and eventually became bitter and angry. The immediate family (her two girls and my cousins - her sister and brother) are probably not going to do much other than a dinner at one of their homes, and just them and their immediate families, so I probably won't go. As cousins, we are pretty close but this is really just for her daughters, whose father passed away just a couple of years ago (they are young ladies themselves now).

This was supposed to be my weekend at Disney. It makes me sad that I didn't go, but sitting here with Earl makes me realize I made the right choice not to leave him alone. He is actually doing very well right now, must be feeling great because he won't leave Lemur alone, hahaha!

My grandma passed away last night around 8pm. Apparently, the church is already having a memorial for her tomorrow! Not sure my mom can make it and I definitely can't. She is in a better place now.

Gloria, I hope all goes well with your appointment today. I really hate when doctors make you jump thru five hoops to tell you something you already know- that you don't need all these tests and that it is something else. I'm sorry! I'm hoping they will listen to you.

Thank you both for your thoughts!

Enjoy the day!

Gloria, we'll be there holding your hand at Doc's office in spirit. Maybe take a list of questions and concerns with you, if you don't do that already?

Of course, thinking about your Grandma Gwenn.

Hang on tight tonight, hope the storms blow through after rush hour. Have a great day, certainly will be toasty for awhile!

I've got another doctor's appointment today, more tests. I am concerned that we are not on the right track with this and I am feeling pretty worried right now. I think I am going to be sent to two other doctors after today's results confirm that it isn't a cardiac issue.

Ohhhhhh dear Gwenn, sorry to hear that but you know, that lady has more spunk than anyone, she will be in good hands with Hospice. What a way to get comfy for the night, a song from her songbird granddaughter! Who knew, you sing! Good too that your Aunt is there.

Nighty Nite all!

Well.. they are moving my grandma to hospice tonight. I don't think it will be much longer. My aunt is there now and I called her cell phone and she let me talk to her and sing to her. So sad.

Geez Gwenn, I admire your Grandma for having so much spunk. Hope your Aunt gets somewhere with those fools. That's a great company you work for, to get time off working part time! I didn't think of 25th. Lawrd love a duck...whoever talked them into whatever they used to pave 440 should never have been paid. I thought the fillings in my teeth were going to rattle out. I'd rather take that route over to the West Precinct, not so much anymore. One time I took the back way from D'son to Charlotte over because traffic was such a mess, everyone else had the same idea!

Gloria, if you have concerns about which track they're playing question it and don't let up until you are comfortable. It's okay to play a doctor.

High five on a good run, actually molasses ran quicker in January because it was warm up there too! So cut yourself a break and lessen the stress level! Easier said than done I understand, just trying to help ease your level a bit. I think I will volunteer again for St. Judes, kind of missed not doing it last year.

Yup, Krogers is doing away with the ol' fart discount and double coupons! Claim lower prices. All well and good but they are continuing to go with mostly their brands offering fewer and fewer big labels and seems less variety. Especially in the stores that now offer everything you could stuff in your house, yard and car. I don't shop there that often for that reason.

Dinner was quick and a great visit since the inlaws were able to join us. However, and this is something I am trying to fix, especially when I am out at night...I don't always have my cell on me. Ran home to grab it...good thing because if I hadn't stopped I would have wasted my time heading north. Kid son not only gave me the wrong restaurant but town!!! Of course I don't have his number memorized or on me (it is now in my wallet, along with other numbers). As i waited to get from 65 onto Veterans I thought of you doing this everyday. It was krazy backed up at 5, expected it to be slow but not that slow. By the way, granddaughter is 5'11", now tall as her Mom; just as cute and caring personality.

Have a great day, enjoy the warm temps, supposed to storm like crazy tomorrow night though. Maybe we will luck out and not get hit so hard.

Kelly, I heard that Kroger is doing away with their senior discount? Do you know if that is true? I saw Kyle's post/picture about driving lessons, gave me a chuckle!

My commute yesterday was fine, it was raining but I beat the worst of it and I heard it ended up being pretty awful. But today, I don't know what was going on, an accident on I-24 I think that caused back up for miles on I-65. It was kind of foggy.

Toni YES YES YES, please come and chat with us! This is a political free zone, always! Actually I post regularly on a very small running SparkTeam and one day recently someone there posted something kind of political and my heart just sank because I DO consider SP to be a safe place. I've tried to avoid all of the divisiveness because it seems to be fueled by so much hatred, which comes as a complete shock to me and upsets me terribly - I guess I am naive and believe in the kindness of people and don't like to admit that people can have such ugly hearts. For a time I was wondering if my current health issues weren't related to stress from all of that, compounded with work stress, traffic stress, etc. So yes, NO politics here please!

I've got another test at the hospital tomorrow. I sort of think they might be on the wrong track - maybe I've already said that? But I am not a doctor and I don't play one on Google (yes I do, of course I self diagnose, hahaha) so I just need to trust them and have confidence that they will figure it all out. I did go running last night and felt really good about it, though it was still slower than molasses in January!

Gloria, I'm glad the stress test went well! Great news!

It didn't really rain much here - just a little and then the sun peeked through here and there.

Happy birthday to your granddaughter, Kelly!

My Aunt got there around 1am this morning. She was trying to get the doctor to tell her what was up, but it's another doctor that knows nothing about her case? She pulled out her NG tube, so they were considering putting in another type of tube, I'm assuming in her stomach? Not sure. They were talking about sending her to hospice but hospice won't take her with a feeding tube. They were supposed to do another chest x-ray to make sure the antibiotics were working and possibly use another antibiotic, but of course, they never ordered it. She is still aware, but very weak. The only good news is that now she is down to 2L of oxygen when she was on 9L.

The commute is really great. Even when there is traffic on 40, I'm not on it very long and I can take Charlotte to 25th. On the way home, I always take 25th to Charlotte and a bunch of other back roads. I'm usually home in 30 minutes. I'm not sure what it would have been like this morning though. I saw it was 90 minutes or more from Murfreesboro this morning. Crazy!

I'm off tomorrow. I have 2 rollover vacation days to use before the end of the 1st quarter. I'll be using the other one in March. I like having the days, but it feels weird to only work 1 day in a week. But better than losing it! Have to be in Franklin at 8:30 tomorrow morning for an appointment. Hoping the traffic will be agreeable.

I am sure your tummy very much appreciated the chai treat, calories or not! I need to make sure that I hit post before moving on...not very good lately at multi-tasking, even simple things. Joys of getting old - not! Just careless.

Gwenn, had your Grandma in my thoughts and I hope your Aunt has been able to light a fire under those people. Have you commuted in from your new abode yet? Hope the traffic is better. Although from what I heard this morning commuting from anywhere this morning was a challenge. And Donelson is becoming one big parking lot because of the water main install. Gloria, did you get in ahead of the mess?

So you survived the stress test. I tried to go food less to keep you company but only made it til noon. Then I realized I had a light, very early dinner the night before so going more than 18 hrs was more than my head was willing to tolerate. I didn't think about eating prior to 8am.

The wet stuff has ended here, hope it stays away later this afternoon. Heading to Gallatin for dinner with the family. Our granddaughter will be 16 next week - already??? because of school and volleyball they are celebrating early. She chose Longhorns! Funny thing, she went yesterday for her learners permit, which she could have gotten at Christmas. I think Massachusetts has stricter laws on teen driving so she didn't have one there. Maybe like her brother and not in a hurry to get one? Daddy gave her her first lesson in the school parking lot, nearly had a nervous breakdown. Big Bad SpecOps Navy guy and afraid of his daughter behind the wheel. Humanoid he is after all.

I'm going to tease Toni in case she is lurking, she has had one long runon meltdown since the election. But I really wish she'd stop by, this is a politico safe zone.

Well, should get a menu and grocery list going so I can get my old fart discount, so you all have a great day.

Has your aunt gotten to Florida Gwenn? Hoping yesterday brought good things for your grandma, hope she is feeling better and getting proper care.

Stress test went okay, other than me thinking I'm starving, which of course I was not, haha! I ended up getting a chai from Panera on the way home - their chai is my favorite and I rarely get it since it is so high in calories.

It rained hard on my way to work but I think it's supposed to stop raining later, maybe just be cloudy?

Awwww this is so sad about your grandma's situation Gwenn. The incompetency of these health care workers is just unthinkable to me. I am keeping her in my thoughts and prayers that they start providing proper care and that she will be comfortable - because it sounds like with everything she has going on right now, the bedsores, the cough/pneumonia, the eating, wow, it just sounds like she is really going through it right now.

Stress test is today, it is really not that big of a deal, just an ultrasound on the thoracic/chest/heart area after running to get the heart rate to the max. It's stressful for me for a couple of reasons, one being last time I did it they had the hardest time getting my heart rate up high enough since I am in good shape. They had the elevation on the treadmill way up and I was running on it and was not happy because my heart rate got to just below the max and stayed there and it took a while to get it to the max - and I don't like running that hard for that amount of time, haha! It took FOREVER! And then you are running naked from the waist up. I am teensy weensy on the top but still....I would prefer a little support (and modesty for crying out loud) up there. So you are hooked up to those little electric wire things (you do wear a hospital gown on the top but it's more or less open) and all and running and then they get the heart rate up and you have like two seconds literally to jump off the treadmill and get on the table/bed on your side and into position so they can do the ultrasound. It's ridiculous. They had better let me wear my Garmin or I will have a tantrum! Hahahaha! Oh and the other thing is, I can't eat after 8:00 a.m. You know I pretty much eat all day long constantly and so by the time I go to this thing I am going to be so HANGRY! I am going to be a raging lunatic. I have that and then another appointment at 3:00 so it is going to be DINNER time before I can eat and I want to eat with my husband so probably 5:00 or something and I am going to be STARVING! I can eat breakfast in a few minutes but I can't eat much without getting too full so I brought my Greek yogurt and some Kind granola to put on it. Maybe I will go to the cafeteria and grab some eggs or something to supplement.

I used to hate icing but now I love it so I would probably love the cupcakes from Vegan Vee.

Just a quick update. Called my grandma's room about an hour ago and a nurse or someone happened to be in there and answered. They gave the phone to her- put it on her ear. She couldn't talk because she was coughing so badly. I just told her what I wanted her to hear and then the nurse hung up. I talked to my mom earlier today and she said they were going to have to give her blood again. They still can't figure out where she is bleeding from. She also has pneumonia now and my mom thinks it's because they weren't giving her her breathing treatments. She is on a lot of oxygen. My aunt is on her way there I think in the next day or two. They area also talking about a feeding tube. Not sure how much more she can take.

Yeah, I'm trying to reign it in. Back to working out today. I won't beat myself up though because I'll have some stuff starting up at the end of Feb/beginning of March and I'm just going to do what I can do. I refuse to get on the scale though. All I know is my clothes aren't fitting the same.

Not sure what is going on with my grandma at the moment. My parents drove back home yesterday from GA. They had stopped there because my brother is there. I kept trying to call her yesterday and Saturday but no luck. They did keep her an extra day, so she would have been there Sunday. Not sure about what is going on now. I haven't talked to my mom.

When do you do your stress test? Sounds intense! I did a stress test ages ago, but I was just on a treadmill all hooked up.

Weather all week should be warm but I think some rain tomorrow. Definitely will be nice today. I'm not brave enough to walk around here yet. Maybe I'll go to Centennial. Almost done going through the boxes we will open. Some just stay in storage. Also put up a bunch of pictures yesterday, which is not my favorite thing to do. My husband's birthday was yesterday so I bought him a mini cake from Vegan Vee. It was really good but a little too much icing for me.

Happy Monday! My husband bought jelly beans yesterday. That is how I started off my day...NOT GOOD! I can't believe how many calories are in jelly beans. I think that 14 of them have 150 calories. I had five for breakfast. Shame on me. I think that Mr. Diabetic ate most of the bad himself yesterday, which is really kind of scary. I've got my Stampin' Up group tonight after work. We meet at a Panera and so I already have my food tracked for the day....so other than the jelly beans, I need to stay on track. I've got my personal trainer at lunchtime and then I am thinking about a mile walk or run immediately after that so I am not just sitting sitting sitting all day long. It's supposed to be really nice out. I did go to White House yesterday to walk/run with my best running friend on the greenway there. They have quite a nice greenway for a small town. And the weather was absolutely gorgeous! I think its' supposed to be great today too....all these trees blooming are making for some allergies. I figure this is our first spring and we will get the second spring later in March or April...who knows though, maybe it will just stay warm.

Oh, the horrors of health care, it is just sickening to hear these things and it's not right. That hospital sounds like a terrible place. Did she leave the hospital yet? I just don't know what to say.

Okay, so now the doc wants me to do a stress test, did I already say that? I just had one a year ago and I was in tip top shape and don't want to do this. It is on Tuesday and the treadmill is such a drag for me, let me go outside and run. They can run along side of me with their big equipment and I will jump off the road and roll onto the bed and they can do their ultrasound or whatever it is they do hahaha! Last time they couldn't get my heart rate up to max because I am in such good shape and they had me running on like a 20% incline or something to get it there after about 20 minutes or so. Anyway, I haven't been feeling great so the idea is that it won't take as long but I am not allowed to eat for six hours prior (and the appointment is at 2:00, okay, you know I eat every three hours, so how is this going to work for me, especially since I have a second appointment at 3:00, so it will be very late before I get to eat and I am going to be SOOOOO cranky). I am wondering if part of all of this is slow gastric emptying but it is likely my stomach will be very empty since I can't eat OR drink before hand, so I will probably not be feeling sick and maybe will not have any issues at all on the treadmill. Today, I had a small salad at about 10:00 and then I had a tall Starbucks chai at about 11:30 and after the chai I felt so horrible, which makes me think stomach. Maybe an issue with dairy? I don't know though, yesterday I ate a Grab the Gold bar at about 6:00 a.m. and by about 6:15 I was sicker than a dog. It almost has to be food or hormones so I am going to ask the doctor to check my cortisol and other hormones and ask for a gastric emptying test. They are thinking it's an autonomic disorder and I am not saying that's not what it is, but I don't want that, hahaha! So let's rule out some less menacing things just to be sure.

Kelly, well well well, you saw Camille! I think that someone has been on here, Camille or Dawn or who ever the other person is because it doesn't say our group has an inactive leader. Seems like it was several weeks ago when Camille checked in. Sounds like she is doing well but busy as usual. Camille, if you are here stalking us, we would love to hear from you...and Toni, where are YOU?

Did the run yesterday, I did 10 instead of 18 miles. I took it slowly (as if I had a choice, haha) and felt pretty good and not too sore like I have been lately. I felt really sick before the run, it was my stomach (see the pattern here?) but was fine after that. It rained on us through most of the run. Kelly, I do vitamin D too, how I can be deficient is beyond me since I am outside all of the time with no sunscreen, but I did amp up the vitamin b12 this past week and amped up the carbs a bit toward the end of the week. It seemed to help, along with extra stretching before and after the run.

Earl seems to be feeling good today. He keeps licking Lemur, and Lemur doesn't like that so they have been brawling. If he didn't feel well he would just walk off and wouldn't fight back. He has seemed okay the past few days but still isn't eating a whole lot.

Oh wow Gwenn, my heart goes out to your Grandma - along with some vented anger. Hope you Mom has more than a few words with the hospital admin.

I'm on that side of town at the precinct likely once a month or so for a meeting for the the ad hoc group fighting to get the short term rentals done away with. You must be near Nashville West or whatever they call it. I'd just buy what you think you need, save the receipt and if it doesn't work, return it.

Well I went to the ground breaking for the Smith Springs Community Center (about 5 miles from me), Camille was there. (I knew she was because she said so on nextdoor and she is a finalist for the interior artwork) I didn't bother to remind her she has abandoned us, haha. She looks good, lost what she regained and didn't get a chance to talk to her long. Yes, Camille if you are reading this, you know we've been abandoned but we'd love to have you back.

Oh and talk about a small world. Met some friends tonight at the Homegrown Taproom, struck up a convo with the gal next to me. Her cousin is the Priest at the church my brother and sister in law attend! What would have been funnier is if she were related to my sister in law because her cousin is also a Priest.

Enjoy tomorrow, Gloria take it easy, don't let frustration get ahead of you okay?

Kelly

Wow Gloria! It sounds like they are really figuring things out for you. I'm sorry that you may have to drop out of the race but remember, you only get so many body parts! You want to make sure you take care of you. Hang in there though!

Kelly, you were right down the road from my new place! I figured out Hattie B's is there and didn't know Thistle Farms was either. I can't do hot chicken though. My husband gets it every once in a blue moon with work guys.

I got kitchen stuff unpacked mainly. This weekend we will focus on getting more unpacked and I'm going to have to get creative when it comes to organizing stuff in the linen closet and pantry. We have an At Home and a bunch of other great stores about a mile away, so I'll be visiting those again. I don't really want to buy a bunch of stuff I'll just have to get rid of later on, but sometimes you just have to do what you need to do.

Well....my grandma is trying to hang in there. LOTS happened but basically, she was in the hospital for most of last week while my mom was there and she was up their butts for sure. Which is good! They didn't find the bleed while they did the scope (which they ended up doing after they said they wouldn't). They sent her to the better rehab on Wednesday and my mom was very happy about it. They were on top of things, had her food pureed, had food for her in general, and they were going above and beyond. On Thursday they were going to have a meeting about what they were going to do for her to get her out of there (remember? she broke her hip to begin with). They were also already doing PT with her and being really attentive.
So before the meeting, my grandma needed to go to the bathroom. Instead of putting her back in the bed to use a bedpan, they put her on the toilet. When they picked her up and put her in the wheelchair she went limp. Anyway, they rushed her to the bed and they were checking her pupils, checking her glucose, etc. She came to and was fine. They did the tests for stroke and she passed them. They decided she needed to go back to the hospital to rule anything out, which was the worst thing. So again, instead of doing her CT scan and everything when she first got there, they left her in the hall by the ambulance door for like 6 hours or more. My mom was so mad. She didn't have food or water. And then they made her "not allowed to eat" because they might do a procedure. Then they wanted to do an ultrasound on her carotid. My parents waited 4 hours for them - my mom kept checking, kept asking when it was going to be because she wanted her to go back to the rehab and they were leaving to head back home halfway. They kept saying US was backed up. Turns out they never freaking ordered the test even though they claimed they did. My mom did talk to the doctor. He said the reason they had to do all this testing was because if they didn't, Medicare wouldn't pay. So we hoped she would go to rehab today, but that didn't happen. More tests, they never even DID that stupid ultrasound they made her wait for hours for and couldn't eat for. And they wonder why she is weak? HELLO!? They were going to give her an IV because she was dehydrated and acted like that was a mystery too. Oh yeah, they also almost gave her morphine because my grandma said she was in pain. My mom said no, she needs moved because of her bed sores. If you will just move her, she will be ok. And so that's what happened. Then the nurse acted like my mom was evil for not letting my grandma have morphine. If she had morphine, she would be out for a week! Anyway, I could go ON and ON as to how screwed up this whole thing is. I hope she can leave tomorrow before she gets sick again. Apparently they were testing her again for C.Diff. I'm like SERIOUSLY??????

I know right, I told the gal sitting across from me to let me know if she saw smoke...Lisa who got the nuclear deal and went through so much water was still flushed for awhile. Actually I could have made a meal out of a whole lot of the crispy chicken skin, which would have set off my asthma for sure. Chewing your food is a good thing.

Speaking of asthma...you??? WOW. Anemia could be one unexpected piece of the puzzle, I know when it is coming on for me. After watching hubby have to go through those infusions I try to stay ahead of it. He had to take an iron supplement or something like that, which I'd hate to see you have to do with your tummy issues. I take D3 (2000) daily and it doesn't take long to crash if I don't . That reminds me, go take it while I'm thinking about it.

Let's worry about Radnor down the road and get you back up again. I don't remember, have you seen a sports med doc or a chiropractor for your gait? Or as the ortho I used to work for and 40+ yrs later...a hitch in your gitalong. (Always fun to transcribe into the narrative report)

Well Gwenn how are you settling in? And was thinking about your Grandmother just this morning, as I do often.

I don't know what the weather is going to be like for the rest of the week end but sure am enjoying the past few days. So have a great one. Outside of breakfast at the Marriott with the gang tomorrow, got nothing going.

I don't know Kelly, somehow when you said that Hattie B's cleaned out your sinuses AND your ears, I got an image of smoke coming out of your ears! HAHAHA! I used to get a "degree" up from the medium but now that I can't eat or swallow quickly and I have to chew a lot, yes, medium is about right! And I LOVE their pimento mac and cheese - shouldn't have it because of the gluten and I pay for that indulgence but it is so splendidly delicious! These days when we go my husband gets the chicken tenders plate and he orders an extra tender. I eat one tender and about half the macaroni and I am good!

Got some results back...I might be anemic? That's just weird. And maybe a bit of asthma? That might not be so unexpected. Hoping for more info today. I tried to run again yesterday and seriously, I might as well walk - even that seems difficult right now, yikes! Ragnar is in a month and I am thinking I might have to drop out. I hope not!

So happy Friday everyone. So far for me it's been awesome!

Here's to getting more pieces to that puzzle and you back where you prefer to be! I hear you about the barium AND the banana - really vile tasting stuff.

Well, HattieB's cleared out not just the sinus' but my ears! I got the medium, Lisa got the real stuff and went through 3 things of water! I had forgotten about how big their small plate is, brought home the sides. The pimento mac n chz is really good. I passed on the banana pudding because I wanted to get something at Thistle. They are renovating and rearranging all three spaces, again, so the cafe was closed. Oh well. If it weren't such a pain to cross Charlotte again I thought about going back to Hattie's. Didn't need the calories anyway. Really didn't make a big buy there, have stuff from the last time and when they spoke to a group I belong to and brought along good things. Such an awesome program.

I looked at Amazon, they have a maker on sale that does 12 servings, includes glass servers. Thought I saved it, sorry.

Good Morning! Happy Friday Eve! I usually don't like Thursdays too much but so far today has been fine. I had a bunch of tests yesterday and will likely have to have more but to start they checked my esophagus/tummy to make sure that the Nissen wrap (the surgery I had for acid reflux a few years ago) is intact and that no food is getting stuck above the surgical site. That went well though drinking barium is not my cup of tea, haha. I have been drinking the stuff since I was a little kid and it is nasty. Thank goodness they didn't try to flavor it with banana stuff, that would have make me sick. I am getting checked out because of the sudden unexplained weight gain and because of the difficulty I am having with running right now, and because of the way I get full so easily (which is actually typical in people who have had this surgery). Anyway, not a big deal.

How was Hattie B's Kelly? I haven't been there in a while, I could go for some good hot chicken! And Thistle Farms, did you get any good smelling stuff from over there? I love that program - Becca Stevens is an amazing and wonderful person I think.

I definitely want to research the yogurt makers. I made yogurt years ago but it was sort of a pain and I eat a lot of it so it would be good to be able to make it with my own milk and all. But it has to be super easy since I am super busy and don't have time!

Coffee and dessert works for me too.

I would say you are having a busy day! Good luck with the Doc appt, just a look see I hope.

I made yogurt once way back when, my mom used to make it then she got a yogurt maker and swore she'd only do it that way from then on. I would think they are not labor intensive or a high learning curve. Hers had I think 6 or 8 cups, mix and heat but that's all I remember.

Going to HattieB's with the 50Forward crowd then over to Thistle Farms so should get a move on, so have a great day! Weather wise it looks like it will be.

Haha Kelly, yeah, I am always looking for something that is in a box....I know I had such and such, but where is it? Lately we've been looking for the TV stand for one of our TVs that is currently wall mounted but we want to set it on a table. I bet that is the ONE thing we threw away. I need to tackle my stuff too but who has time!

I didn't have bubbly last night or even any wine but we did go to Starbucks for coffee and dessert, which I loved. I was going to have the molten chocolate latte but they didn't have something that they needed for it so I got my standard chai.

Either of you ever make yogurt? And if so, do you have a yogurt maker? I've made yogurt in the distant past but not in many years. I kind of want a yogurt maker but it has to be one that requires no work whatsoever.

Lots of meetings today and a doctor's appointment. Personal trainer and run tonight...going to be BUSY!

Enjoy your new place Gwenn and it is always a plus when it goes smoothly! That company has advertised so it is nice to know someone who has actually used them.

Oh Gloria, got ya beat! Still rearranging boxes from 14 years ago, well they are partially tossed you know unpack and look through and leave the stuff all over the place. I tell my OCD kids I did it to aggravate them. (But it is starting to bother me too, so soon as it warms up a bit I will tackle it)

Heard that part of Briley is (still) closed on the westside so I'm sure it didn't help your commute. Do you have a long handle mirror to look under the seat? Or the window, although I think if it fell in there the window would stick. Hope you find it, how many cawfees will the replacement cost? And yes, it may be Valentines Day but I think you need a rest day!

Have a great day and evening you two, I'm going to treat myself to steak and bubbly for dinner but for lunch dark chocolate and a dessert from my fav little shop, it's not that great out so likely won't be on the porch in the blue rocker.

Rain today I guess and of course I need to run. Well, we will see how that works out. Gwenn, so awesome that the move went smoothly! I guess packing and moving things over in advance really paid off. My moves have never gone very smoothly. I am still unpacking from seven years ago...seriously!

I laughed about how you give the cats a pill, I have done that too! This morning Earl took off but I caught him. He wriggled and writhed and almost wrecked my sweater. I figure by tomorrow he will be hiding under the bed and I won't be able to do it. He's no idiot, he knows what is about to happen. He isn't acting as peppy or hungry as he was for a couple of days.

Okay, got to work, used my badge to get into the parking garage, and got out of the car....badge is gone. So I spend about 15 minutes searching for it in my car, it is no where to be found. I had to get a temporary and if I can't find it I will have to PAY for a new one. It HAS to be in my car. Then I got to my desk and realized that I had left my cawfee at the security desk so had to trot on back down there. I didn't sleep well last night and had clothing issues this morning and traffic was terrible....hahaha, so I am wondering, do you think I should just go back home and go back to bed! emoticon

Hey ladies. The move went VERY well and very smooth. I would highly recommend this company- Small Town Movers. I had no idea they were based in Chattanooga. They were supposed to be there at 9 and they were there at 8:30! Got everything out of the apartment (mainly furniture and a few boxes) in about an hour. The whole move was done by 11:30. Then yesterday we cleaned from noon till 5 in the old apartment. I was exhausted! Today I have unpacked a little but not going to kill myself.

Glad Earl is eating more and that is very frustrating when they can't find anything wrong but there is obviously something wrong. My pilling a cat consists of sitting on the floor and wrapping my legs around them, prying the mouth open, throw the pill in, and rub the throat. LOL

BINGO Gloria, I would say go for that half. You likely walk faster than most so don't fret over your time, you gave it a go and that is all that matters. It's likely cataracts that are making his eyes look funky.

Looks like a nice day to start the week, haven't heard the weather.

Nothing going on around here, have a great day and week.
