We are going to head to Nashville in a while to eat at House of Kabob on Thompson Lane. It is probably our favorite restaurant, Persian food. Today is my birthday, yay, Big 5-0! Woo hoo!

Yes the homeowners were there. They seemed to be nice. Actually that's a requirement. So apparently they go through a year of classes and getting a loan and then they have to put in 200 hours of time building houses, including their own. They call it sweat equity. Then they dedicate it and usually close about 2 weeks later.

Love the flowers Toni, great idea to pick them since they were going to freeze anyway!

Gwenn, did you get to meet the new homeowner? When we did it we met her and she was working on the house that day too. We put up siding! It was several years ago and I really enjoyed it. My office does still does that sometimes, I need to go one weekend again.

Half marathon training this morning, wow, it is only a month away! It was so cold and I had put away my winter gear but fortunately it was still accessible. I really overdid it last week with my evening activities, I need to be more careful about that. I got so little sleep and I am worn out! And I have an inflamed muscle or something on my upper back/lower neck and it is really painful, you know how you wake up in the morning and think that you slept wrong? And you neck is stiff and you can hardly turn it? It is like that. It is swelled up in that spot so I know it is a knotted up muscle, I need a massage!

Very pretty Toni!

SO cold this morning! My toes went so numb while we waited to start at the Habitat build. This was the last weekend on this house, so thankfully my husband and I worked inside the entire time. He did want to lay the sod down, and I told him to go ahead, but he came back inside with me to finish putting up the bathroom fixtures. We also put up the blinds in the bedrooms, painted baseboards, filled holes with putty and caulked. Oh yeah, and put the knobs on all the cabinets in the kitchen. They have the dedication ceremony tomorrow at 2, but not sure we will go to that. It was interesting to understand how the people are chosen to get the houses, and how long they work and go to classes. Also was interesting to understand more about how the organization works.

Glad for warmer weather tomorrow!

Husband went to Whitt's barbecue to get our dinner and when he got here, there was pork barbecue in the bag instead of turkey. Neither of us like pork. emoticon

No time to take it back so he ate a tiny bit of it, and the cats had some. I have to find something else, I just can't bring myself to eat it.

Everyone is mowing their yards now. Our forsythia is really pretty this year.

I didn't go back out and walk yesterday, but I went today after I got home from the library. In a few minutes I'm going to do 30 min of Pilates.

Kelly, I'm doing my 21 Day Fix program, so it has a workout every day, so that's why I made myself work out after SH. Going to have to do the same tomorrow! Hope you have a safe trip!

Oh, most of the places have options for heat levels on the hot chicken, I forgot about that. I used to get the hottest but since I had esophagus surgery I get medium because I have to be so careful about how I chew and swallow and I just don't want that stuff sitting in my mouth/throat for too long!

Hoping we just get some rain tomorrow and no storms, think I heard that it was in Missouri where they were having bad weather? Wishing you safe travels Kelly, make sure to take summer clothes, it is probably hot there already! You will miss the 40s that we are supposed to have here on Saturday.

Preds won last night so if you have the Dunkin' Donuts app and are registered, you can get a free coffee today.

Gwenn, the Scoreboard gives you an option on heat level. Hope your soreness level is better and I agree with Gloria, even a short walk should help loosen things up. I would say any time at SH is a work out, and you decided to add to it? It is supposed to get really warm today, I don't know. Thunderstorms rolling in tomorrow, hope they wait til after I fly out.

Lots of running around to do so will check in later. Have a good one!

Gwenn, just go out and walk slow...for ten minutes. Maybe ten will turn into 20 or more. I went for a walk at lunch, honestly, I am in so stiff form yesterday's power sculpt class (lower body killed my legs and my upper body is stiff but I don't need it to walk, LOL), but I decided that the walking would help me loosen up a bit. It was a very slow walk! It is very pretty out there, supposedly going to be in the 40s on Saturday, you should get out and enjoy it today!

You guys are cracking me up about this hot chicken. My husband likes it but I'm not a fan. I don't mind spicy stuff, but not super spicy.

I wanted to get out for a walk because it is so nice, but I think my body is done with working out today. haha I was at SH this morning for 3.5 hours. You sweat SO much doing that. Then I came home and did 30 min of upper weights. So now it's time to eat again...chicken, yam, green beans, coconut oil.

Toni emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon We'll have to grab some when I get back from Houston next week!. So grab some now and have seconds with me and whom ever else can join us.

Okay, I don't remember getting the mother vinegar, what do you look for, I think what I got was oh now I don't remember but I had to keep it in the fridge after I opened it.

I agree some of those powders are worse than chalk or those contrast things you drink for CT scans. So it's good you can get try me packs. I usually only drink them for a snack or quick meal replacement especially after having a big breakfast or lunch.

Okay so that is what that odor is? Never knew that about those trees. Sometimes your tummy just says, heck with it I'm going to enjoy this. It looked like it was properly fried and that is the key to it.

I've had it in my mind to check out the eBars but haven't yet because I wish they had more protein. But maybe I will grab a couple while I am out this evening (I am going running at Green Hills). I went for a short walk at lunch time, the notoriously stinky Bradford Pears are making themselves known - so pretty, but oh, the stench! Being a bit indulgent, having a latte from Starbucks. Toni, the hot chicken is NOT healthy! It is FRIED! As I ate my leftover hot chicken at lunch today, one of my friends observed that I do not eat fried foods, so she wondered why I would eat hot chicken. I don't know, but I LOVE hot chicken! So it all started out with Prince's Hot Chicken and then Bolton's. Now there are some other places popping up here and there. One place that happened a few years ago was Lorrie Morgan and Sammy Kershaw's place off Whites Creek Pike. Apparently it was a huge flop and didn't last long. The name of it was (get a load of this), "HotChickens.Com". So I just happen to love to go around saying HOT CHICKEN DOT COM. I am sure it drives my husband nuts because I will just burst out with that out of nowhere.

Good stuff Kelly! I'll have to check the ebars out - I did go to the website briefly. Westhaven is a little way down the road from me. Cool stuff! I'm still researching shakes as I'm not 100% sure I will stay with Shakeology, although it tastes so good! The price is what kills me.

I tried the Chocolate Vega One today and it was passable but not like oh wow this is amazing stuff. I want to try others. I did order a 3 serving sample of Gold Standard, which is on one of the links I posted earlier. We'll see what I think of it.

I get the turmeric in capsules at Kroger. Make sure you get the raw vinegar that contains the 'mother'. My yoga instructor also swears by it for aiding digestion...

Geez, checked the post bar and it didn't keep up with the conversations going on.

Seems like we all could turn into cluckers with all the whites and chicken we consume. Interesting about some of these protein shakes and what they add to them isn't it? Maddening. I have a huge bag of stevia in the raw, tell you how much I use of the stuffit's been in the pantry for over two years and barely touched it. It took over two years to use the box of raw sugar I bought, I'd rather have a little of the real thing, honey or agave but for lemonade or limeade I opt for stevia.

I use Visales (spelling) protein powder and not sure if it is soy or whey, one of the kids friends from high school is big into fitness (nurse and a trainer) and turned us on to it 3 years ago. I used it initially for added nutrition for John and to get some weight and muscle mass back on him. Added it to everything, one morning not paying attention I added it to his oatmeal before cooking it, what a gummy mess. I don't have tummy issues so soy or whey isn't important for me. I'm not sure what our son uses, he amps it up to something different when training.

My neighbor who is also a trainer uses Shakeology, works well for her, she lost over 100 pounds and has kept it off for 8 years or more. I guess it's trial and error.

About a year ago I discovered ebars, they are pretty good, all natural and organic AND made here in Franklin! I ordered a bunch of their FIT bars on line because they were on sale and they aren't bad. Actually they have saved me during travel delays, always carry them when I travel. ebars.com

I'll check out your links too later this morning Gwenn, great information you shared.

I think the next time I head into that part of town I will have to try the Perch. Sounds good.

Well, looks like Bonny high tailed it out of town without so much as a wave goodbye. Shame on her.

Doc suggested cider vinegar for me after my surgery; took it for awhile guess I'll add that back on my grocery list. Funny how you forget what works when it's out of sight.

Gloria I have had your hot chicken bites on my mind since Sunday, takes my mind off the cooked to a frazzle bison burger I got.

You will really enjoy that project. I've done several, although not here and it is always an experience. Maybe it's a good thing you'll be inside, hear the weather will be cold Saturday.

Well, I have to get in the face of a few companies to straighten out a few messes, one I created by not paying attention to something, the rest are on them. Press 1 to talk to someone who knows nothing, press 2 for someone who knows just enough to make you sorry you had to call.

Have a good one and great job Gwenn staying with your regime!

Thanks for info Gwenn! I saved the links so that I can read them tonight or tomorrow (probably tomorrow since I have speed work class tonight). I know what you mean about aspartame and sucralose, I know a lot of people get serious headaches from aspartame, I get serious gut issues from almost anything, including these, and including even the so called innocent sweeteners that are found in just about all foods, like sorbitol and maltodextrin. Since I am running longer distances now I have to eat while running and all of the stuff made for running has that junk in it so I am using one that has HONEY and it is working very well for me, thank goodness.

I was eating the spinach sauteed with egg whites too. This week I made a type of mini muffin quiche thing, but I used frozen spinach, peppers, and fake eggs. But I get excited on the days i can eat oatmeal. ha!

The whey protein I have been using is Designer Whey in chocolate. It still has an interesting taste, and it takes some getting used to. Right now I have to make it with water, for this diet plan I have been on, but I used to use almond milk and it tasted better. I got a few packets from Whole Foods of several different kinds of pre and post workout shakes, so I can taste before I buy a huge thing of it. I have also been drinking Shakeology, which is SO overpriced. I actually won a box of it, so that was cool.

I am very sensitive to aspartame, so I have to look at the ingredients in EVERY shake. The Designer Whey has stevia. It actually was the only one I could find at Vitamin Shoppe that did not have aspartame or sucralose. There is this blog I found, when I was trying to research the benefits of Shakeology and the guy gave some good advice in the comments section and in the blog for ways to get the proper nutrition in your shakes. This particular link is about the shakeology but he gives some great advice. I follow it so I can see what people ask. www.bodymoment.org/shakeology-altern
at
ive/

Kinda funny as I actually bought a packet of VegaOne to try it, and didn't realize it was the same one this guy was touting as a great source of protein that wasn't whey. For me, it's really a trial and error thing and I normally like to test with packets.

Gwenn...here is what I often have for breakfast:

Bed of spinach, raw, or can saute for a minute if desired.
Top with three ounces of shredded chicken or turkey, an egg white or two (I usually have two), pesto and roasted red peppers. I stole this idea from Panera - they have an egg white turkey bowl on their "hidden" menu and I just decided to make it myself. I just make a bunch of turkey or chicken ahead of time and freeze it, same with egg whites, I just make a bunch and freeze them. Then I can just grab and go in the mornings before work!

What do you think the whey protein Gwenn? What kind do you use?

I've been eating a TON of egg whites these past two weeks. And chicken! A few times I drank whey protein after my workouts.

Gwenn, I like the build muscle one...that is what I need to do. And I like those foods! Toni, is your turmeric in a capsule form? I can't imagine eating too much of the stuff. I have been sprinkling it on our chicken but it kind of has a weird taste. I guess there is not much on Gwenn's list that I wouldn't eat besides bananas and beets.

Awesome Kelly and Gloria- glad you all had fun! And how fun to be able to meet!

Gloria, we have never done a build, so we are excited! I hope if we like this one, that we will be able to do another one where we actually start from the beginning. I've built a playground before with Kaboom, but that's as far as my building has gone! Looks like it will be chilly on Saturday, but at least it won't be raining.

Yep, the Perch is in Brentwood- the one we went to. It's pretty small, and on Sunday, it opened at 9 and there was a line. I was glad we were there when it opened. The food is really good, and pretty natural. I had eggs, fruit and greens. They also have crepes, omelets, some pastries and awesome coffee.

I just read that turmeric helps with pain. Pasting what I read in the March 2015 Women's Health.

Foods to Gain Energy: Oatmeal, Raisins, Bananas
Soothe Pain: Ginger (Fights nausea and can reduce muscle pain by 20%), Tart Cherries (neutralize free radicals), Turmeric (acts like ibuprofen against joint pain) * Also as a note, I used to use bromelain for pain, which is naturally found in pineapple.
Build Muscle: Eggs (rich source of the amino acid leucine jump-starts muscle repair), Whey Protein, Salmon or Tuna
Spike Metabolism: Pistachios, Beets, Edamame

Gwenn, have you all ever done a habitat project before? Totally fun and awesome, you will love it!

Haven't been to the Perch but I hear it is small inside and very busy! Kelly, there is one in Green Hills and one in Brentwood I believe. They have crepes and omelets, maybe some waffles?

Bonny, are you here lurking? You need to stop in and say hi!

Wonder if anyone saw the weather forecast....is that an early April Fool's joke? Supposed to be in the 40s this weekend! But nice in the meantime, so get out and enjoy!

Raw vinegar and turmeric, hmmmm, I have heard that turmeric has anti-inflammatory effects and sometime recently I think I heard something about vinegar, very curious to learn more, I will have to look that up. But it sounds kind of nasty, LOL!

Had so much fun last night with Kelly! I had hot chicken at the Scoreboard, Kelly, I should have insisted that you try a bite! Sold out show, they played a lot of stuff, ended up with, I think, Help Me Rhonda, Barbara Ann and Fun Fun Fun.

Gwenn, the Memorial Service sounded Peaceful and how nice the weather held. Thank you for sharing a beautiful service, you always have to have as you put it, interesting mishaps (was it Grandpa letting his presence be known?).

Where is the Perch? Seems I've heard it a lot lately but have no clue, is it new or just making the rounds as a place to go?

Toni, interesting what you are using to unstiff your stiffness. First I heard of using them for that. Good to know!

Now that the weather is getting nicer, let's start thinking about having a fun lunch or something out, it has been way too long since we've done anything. Maybe we can raise Bonny's interest again and get her to actually stop and say Hi.

CUL8R!

I had the bestest time last night, Gloria put out a call to see The Beach Boys last night, so I raised my hand - me, me, me... Lucky to have checked in at the right time. We grabbed a bite to eat at the Scoreboard near Opry and she was kind enough to drive downtown.

What a great show!!! No opening group, just them for two lengthy sets. The two originals have not lost their voices with age for sure. It was a great evening getting to know our Gloria better. Thanks Gloria!

Hey guys- what a busy day yesterday! So yes, the service was yesterday at 2. My husband was a little on the stressed side as we found out that we needed to pick up his mom, then drive to the florist shop in Green Hills, which we thought we knew where it was, but apparently we didn't. So we actually said forget it when we couldn't find the florist, mainly due to frustration and we didn't want to be late. Thankfully someone had sent a basket to his mom, so we brought that with us. And Vanderbilt had two flower arrangements in the chapel, which was very nice. Many showed up from former colleagues/teachers, to previous students, to UU church members, which was cool. There were some interesting mishaps and annoyances, but you know, you go with the flow. Beautiful music was played by his godson, who actually plays for the Nashville Symphony. A few people read poems, including his daughter, which I was impressed she got through. We had a very late lunch/early dinner at Blackstone's, which is where he went to eat many times during the week while at Vanderbilt.

This morning we went to breakfast at The Perch with my husband's probably 2nd cousin- not 100% sure of the relationship because we call her Aunt! Then we went over to his mom's for about 30 minutes and said goodbye to his sister. I went to Whole Foods while he got a haircut, then came home and did some pre-cooking for the week, worked out for an hour, and now I'm hungry again. ha!

Hectic weekend. We are glad it is over. There is still some work to be done like cleaning out the family storage unit, but we'll deal with that another time.

On another random note, my husband and I will be helping Habitat for Humanity this coming Sat out in Antioch. It sounds like the house is already built, but they are finishing the inside and doing the landscaping. I can't imagine it taking the entire day, but we have to be there at 7am and they like to finish by 3:30. So we are pumped to do this!

Hope you enjoyed the Beach Boys concert, Gloria! And good job Toni on your workout! That's awesome. I'm sure the UU church would love to have you. I have never been, but the people I met seemed nice. And thank you for your note, Kelly. It was very nice weather!

Oh Gloria I would have LOVED to see the BB's! How was the show?

I was sore the next day of course, but I'm doing 2 TBSP of Raw Vinegar every day and I think my inflammation from that kind of stuff is less. I'm taking 2 caps of Tumeric too. My knees are feeling stronger all the time and I think that is yoga for sure....and the other stuff helps.

Step aerobics, fun fun fun! I do it when I can which is not often! Toni, of course you can do it, you are a young and fit 63! Wishing it wasn't cloudy but at least it is warm. I forgot I am going to the Beach Boys concert tomorrow night. Hey, anyone want to go with me? My husband was going but now he has to work so I have a spare ticket. It's at 7:30 at the Ryman. Guess I'd better go find those tickets, it's been so long since I bought them that I am not even sure where they are.

Yoo-hoo!

Wow Gwenn, Jeremy's Grandfather is amazing! What a career! He is an example of how one person can change the world - look at his impact on science! And he was a UU! When I am close enough to a church I am a UU too! I've been meaning to try to find the smaller church in Bellevue. Maybe his spirit will spur me on.

You guys are NOT going to believe this......today I went to a step aerobics class for the first time in 17 years - and - wait for it - I MADE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE END!!!! Holy Guacamole Batman - I am proud of myself!

So, I guess 63 is young enough to do aerobics. LOL! I credit the yoga with strengthening my knees and quads so that I can actually do aerobics with no pain. Of course, tomorrow is another day, I know, I know...but hot chicken, I am excited! I threw the chicken reference in there for you Kelly. :)

Hey there EKOSS88! Welcome. I'm in Dickson, about 35 minutes from the big City, and have only been here for two years. We've all been on SP for years, so if you have any questions, or need any help, let us know. There is a LOT of great info at SP!

Later....

Wow Gwenn, what a wonderful life your husband's grandfather had, I love that he was a scientist, and a very good one at that!

Got out at lunch time, it was a bit chilly and windy. I think that we are in for another very nice day on Saturday. I have my Stampin' Up group tonight, to make cards or whatever. Work was a little stressful today, lots of meetings and too much work, and tomorrow will probably be chaotic too but overall, things are going okay on my end. Actually got enough sleep last night and only ended up being eight minutes late for work as a result, woo wee! emoticon

Gwenn, That was a wonderful tribute to your husband's Grandfather, thank you for letting us have a glimpse into his life, tremendous indeed.

How interesting what you are doing at the library. I think they would need their heads examined if they let you do anything else instead!

Hello new faces and old friends. Been kinda quiet around my neck of the woods. Went to Second Harvest Tuesday and yesterday was the library. I don't know if I told you that for 2 months I am helping out in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Dept. I really enjoy it because it's different. Basically I am writing out the closed captions for a video. Another girl does it right before me and we both worked on one little video. I chose the next one, which was Midsummer Night's Dream. I think I will miss it once I have to go back to my regular volunteer area. Maybe they'll let me do both!

Saturday is the memorial for my husband's grandfather. Originally they were doing invite only, but then they decided to put the obituary in the paper, so we aren't sure how many may show up. He worked for Vanderbilt for 40 years, so they actually put a nice article on their news page. He lived a tremendous life. If you are interested, here is the link.

Yakkk indeed...boy did we get spoiled with all that sunshine didn't we?

For sure, all this talk about fried chicken, especially great stuff, has had my mouth just droolin', whose up for some good chow? I've eaten so much Irish butter, soda bread and corned beef might as well add some fried chicken to it.

I see we have a newbie, welcome and come by often. We have been known to create some mischief and mayhem and always need some new ideas. Sometimes we even get on to health and nutrition.

I have had both Hattie B's and Prince's. My husband brought a piece of spicy chicken from Prince's and I didn't care for the spicy but he loved it! I had no spice at Hattie's and it was good. My husband liked Prince's better. We will have to try Bolten's. :)

There is a Hattie B's in midtown, I think it is on 19th Avenue? Between West End and Broadway. And there is a location on Charlotte out in West Nashville. It is traditional Nashville hot chicken. Love it! I've never been to Prince's for hot chicken, but I have been to Bolton's, this is just as good, if not better. They are always lined up out the door, no matter what time you go.

Sorry you are still under the gun with the monthly, if they don't give you all the tools to work with, well, you aren't a mind reader. I understand your frustration though.

Hey Kelly! I was under the gun in my old job until the end of April, regulatory stuff, and in this job, I am not, thank goodness! But I am still getting at the beginning of the month, first five business days, and I think that this job is actually worse than the old one for that, a lot more to do, more complexity and more stress! I am not fully trained on my stuff yet, more training to come tomorrow and I am not even sure I know what all I am supposed to be doing! I am a little worried that I will not do something or I will forget something. Some of the work I am familiar with, some of it I am not.

Husband and I went to Hattie B's for hot chicken today. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that place.

Wonderful pictures! Guess we got spoiled with the wonderful temps the past few days, but I'll take it over ice and snow. When did they add the add an image? Maybe when they decided to teal out the message box?

I was thinking about you Gloria, with your new gig are you under the gun like before at tax time and the beginning of the month? At least you got out for a bit.

Quiet St. Paddy's around here, hope all is well on your ends of town.

Those are beautiful flowers - I have some blooming in my yard. Hard to believe that one month ago they were covered in ice! Today is cloudy and showers are likely tomorrow, but Spring has sprung! Everything is waking up!

After a couple of days of summer I see that spring has arrived! Loved those warm temperatures but I will embrace spring, don't want it to get too hot too fast. Nothing new and exciting going on here, just work work work and run run run (and I mean run in more ways than one, LOL)!

I don't mind helping with whatever ideas you come up with. I help run another board and we have a question of the week post and every Monday a new question is posted. I'm not sure if that would fly here or not since I'm not really sure who is around. Happy Friday the 13th!

I know, it seems like a person comes on here once or twice and then they disappear forever. I know since I have been on here it is pretty much Kelly, and when Bonny is around, she is here too. Now we have Gwenn and Toni! Even I can be sporadic at times depending on the schedule. Dawn and Camille will show up every once in a blue moon too. Back a couple of years ago there were a couple of others who were pretty regular, don't know where they went.

Don't like driving on the potholes in the dark AND the rain. It was dark and rainy on the way home last night and this morning - can't see 'em! Fortunately they got some of the big ones in the construction near Trinity Lane after the ice happened and they also got some of them on Vietnam Veterans near Conference but there are still plenty out there! I found myself running over them last night especially and praying that I didn't mess up my car!

Did anyone see Monday's weather forecast? All I can say is that if that comes true, WOWZA! We are looking at some nice SUMMER weather there!

We'd all love to see this place prosper, good point Toni.

I used to be in the habit of checking the team page often for new posts, rarely do it. The other day I did and sure enough a newbie started something in another forum, I responded but haven't heard anything back - which is usually the case. I don't know if we have lurkers or what the problem is but this team is way too big to be so inactive. We went through this awhile back, seems no matter what we try it doesn't stick except with a few of us. Bonny and I for the longest time were literally talking just to each other, then we managed to interest and keep you gals and for that I am grateful. Hate talking to myself, get the same answers all the time.

I don't think we can clean up anything, all we can do is check the forum page more often. I'd love to hear if you have something in mind, worth a shot. I'm out of ideas as to how to get them out of where ever they are hiding. We don't even have that many bloggers lately.

Looks like a wet one this week end, maybe nicer on Sunday? Got nothing exciting planned, hope youse guys do.

What do you all think about cleaning up around here? There are some really old posts in the General Discussion Forum, and new people stop in and we don't even know about it. What if the 4 of us regulars took over and shared responsibilities? I'd love to see this thread grow and prosper.

Your thoughts?

Ditto on the weather! Could get spoiled really quickly.

Not much on this end of town, thanks for the pothole link Gwen. Did you see the cartoon where the cop pulled over a car, pulled you over because you were all over the road, driver says got too to avoid the potholes.

It is beautiful out! The pothole work sounds like a mess. Glad that they are getting it done though. Thanks for the link Gwenn, I see that they aren't up on my route yet but I will be headed south after work, hope that they are done for the day by the time I head out that way.

Such nice weather this afternoon! It took me FOREVER to get home from Nashville today. They are doing pothole work after OHB on 65S, so I had to take the OHB exit to Franklin Road. Can you say CRAZY people? And then 65N was backed up from Harding to OHB and beyond, so that meant that people were getting off and taking Franklin Road from probably Concord or Moore's up to Brentwood and it was bumper to bumper on that side of the road. I have never seen anything like that!

Anyway, I saw this on FB and thought I would pass it along!

There are some awful potholes on 40W in the center lane past Whitebridge heading south. I drove right through them and I'm grateful there wasn't a car next to me on either side or it would have been an accident!

I'm going to buy some bulbs - the ground is so soft from the rain, I should take advantage of it!

Stay dry everyone!

Good to have you drop by ROCKGREATHEALTH, hope you do it more often!

Sounded like so much fun Toni, I bet you're happy it's all over though. That's exciting Christina A is coming in, someone thought they spotted her guess they were right. She has a beautiful voice. I sent a couple of her cd's to the sandbox, seem to remember one of them was a through back to the big band era.

If they fixed the potholes right the first time, this wouldn't be the problem it is now. Potholes are going to happen but this is just crazy. Be careful, especially driving at night.

Got my plans for the Arc, I don't think the rowboat or kayak is going to cut it. Be careful if you have to walk through mud, could get stuck or lose a shoe. I'll take it over the mess we had recently though (as long as the water levels don't keep rising).

Have a great one all!

Row row row your boat! Actually maybe today won't be so bad, just gloomy I think. Did you all see next week's forecast? We are looking at the potential for some GORGEOUS spring weather next week, hope that it comes to fruition! Still trying to adjust to my new position, it has been a little stressful but not as bad as it could be.

Nice job movie star Toni! :)

I'm driving to Nashville today, so I guess I'll be enjoying the potholes again. Saw the weather report today and I guess we get rain through Saturday.

Hello everyone!

I'm finally done with the filming. The big news is that Christina Aguilera has joined the Nashville cast and is portraying a Pop singer who wants to cross over to Country Music. She is absolutely gorgeous - so much prettier in real life. We finally broke last night at 8:30 - I'd been there since 7am! Met lots of wonderful people and had a great time. Glad it's over, tho!

WTG Gloria on your long run! Woohoo!

Later............

Yes, I agree the potholes are terrible! I felt so sad when I heard about the motorcyclist killed on Briley due to a pothole. Be careful out there!

My daffodils are just poking out of the ground and the buds on the trees are starting to come out. Fun to be able to see signs of Spring. After the rain this week, hopefully the warmer weekend weather will really help to unveil the signs of Spring.

Have a wonderful night everyone!

Someone on a motorcycle was killed the other night on Briley, and they said that the cause was a pothole. Wow, what kind of damages will the city pay for that one? Hope that TDOT gets out there and fixes these holes fast, I don't ever recall it being this bad.

Noticed my daffodils are sticking their noses out of the dirt, maybe in three weeks I will have some flowers. I guess mowing season will kick in soon too. It definitely looks like a gully washer today.

Rain, rain, rain...at least the temps are reasonable so will take that. Wow the water ways are really high so I wonder what will be when it really rolls in.

You deserve a lounge day (or more) Gloria. I hear you about those performance tires, new meaning to performance if you ask me. Supposedly you can file with the city about tire damage, yeah right.

Well superstar Toni, check in with us about your little part time gig. After you've caught your breath.

Have a great day, stay dry!

The craters are bad for sure! Hope they get out and fix those fast. My husband's car has these so called "performance" tires and just one bump and it seems like they ruined. And hope for no more bad weather. I don't know, we usually get at least one snow in late to mid March that is a heavy wet snow that melts quickly. But I am guessing that we are done with the worst of it.

The arts patron roll sounds fun Toni but that does sound like a VERY long day!

Well, after my long run yesterday I lounged around and did nothing, now I am going to pay the price, laundry, house cleaning, etc. Chicken is in the crock pot so at least I don't have to worry about cooking dinner!

Well, we all know you are hotty totty!!! A star among us...

A few months ago you could see Jupiter too, didn't look for it this time. I hope Spring is on its way, and the rest of this month isn't like 03, lots of ice. Yesterday there was still a lot of black ice during the day in spots where the sun doesn't shine so still be aware, of course there are those danged craters in the road.

Hello all!

Good luck on your challenge, Gwenn! It surely is a serious challenge - but you can do anything you set your mind too!

Gloria - glad you got to stay home, hope you're feeling better.

Kelly - the moon has been just awesome! In the Eastern sky Jupiter is the bright star above the moon - it's cool to be able to see that. And there is a star in between Jupiter and the Moon - Regulus - part of the constellation Leo the lion. Leo rising after sunset signals that SPRING IS ON THE WAY!

I did drive into town Friday morning. I didn't need to be at Opry Mills until 10:15, so the Interstate was in very good shape. There was one section - 3 miles - of back road that was ice covered and everyone was going 30 mph so we all made it. I didn't get the Excited Woman role, but that's fine with me, I was a hoity-toity Arts Patron instead! It was a long day - we didn't break until 11 pm! And I do it again on Monday and Tuesday.

Looks like another beautiful MELTING day today! Yay! BEGONE White Stuff!

Spring forth...really, is it necessary to change it this early? Luvin' the sunshine and warmth.

I need to go back to an old habit of packing snacks (or even lunch or dinner) when I know I'm going to be away from home a lot. Several months ago I discovered ebars, they are made here in Franklin and very good. I don't have one everyday but they sure saved my hide more than once having one with me (especially in a long flight delay). I just ordered two new flavors, oh man it has been hard to not dive into them. Being house bound so much lately I realized what a boredom (mostly carbs) eater I am and that needs to change, I've done well in the past with mindful grazing so I'll give it a whirl again too.

Enjoy the day everyone!

Good luck on your challenge Gwenn, I was talking to someone today who is doing something like that, maybe the same thing. I eat every two or three hours, I prepare my food the night before and pack it up and and take it to work with me, been doing it that way for about 2.5 years now! If you keep doing it after a while you get used to it and you don't feel hungry at all because it keeps your blood sugar levels pretty steady. I didn't see the moon Kelly, but I will say, I did enjoy today's weather!

Well, still another season visits us today. Luv it!

Good luck Gwenn on that 21 day thing, you can do it...

Everyone get on out and enjoy that big yellow orb in the sky. Did anyone see the moon the past couple of nights, really neat.

Ready for the warmer temps!! The snow is pretty, but I'd like it to be over now. I can't even imagine what it is like for all the people with huge amounts of snow! Husband went to work today, but he let later because there were like 4 wrecks on 65N. I don't think I will drive around today but most likely will walk to the mailbox. Yesterday we walked to the mailbox and our faces were frozen!

Nothing major planned this weekend except signing our lease and possibly headed to Trader Joe's. I'm starting the 21 Day Fix Extreme workout and going to be doing a crazy eating plan. Basically eating every two hours (where my schedule will allow, although if I was working 40 hours a week, don't know how I could do this!) and mainly eating protein and veggies with a few carbs here and there. I want to get rid of this weight! And the workouts are different every day with plyo, weights thrown in, pilates, yoga, cardio. This is alot like the first program, except the workouts are super hard and you aren't allowed any treats. Think this is going to be quite a challenge but thank god it's 3 weeks. HAHA

Toni, hope that you don't have to go out, roads are what I call UN-pretty. Very awful, wish I had stayed home. But it is expected I will be here, so here I am. I need to talk my husband into moving back closer to work.

Kelly, you made me laugh about putting the website on your frig! We've not been out of the house, I figure if it is too slippery to get to the office, it is too slippery to go anywhere. We stayed at work kind of late last night to get stuff done, by the time I left it was cold and the freezing rain had started up but it wasn't slippery. Working from home today, not feeling well so glad I am here and not there. Sickness is running rampant on the new floor that I am working on, just one week after moving my desk and I am already sick. Not to mention the colitis which has been rearing its ugly head for a while now. We will see what tomorrow brings, I think it might end up being worse than today because it is going to be super cold, it is not going to melt or dry up and then what does melt is going to refreeze. Just like last time!
