Hi, all. Hope you're doing well in this HOT weather. I don't have enough sense to stay inside - been walking 3 days of this week - if I'd walked straight toward downtown, I'd be on my way back. lol

Sorry for your loss, Kelly. Safe travels.

Best to all - heading downtown for the Titans' game in awhile.

Be safe Kelly. Sorry to hear of your loss.

Gloria- glad you were able to visit with family. I think I won't be doing that until Thanksgiving time.

Toni- hope you don't feel as sore after your yoga!

Amanda- good luck with the new shift!

Tomorrow I have off- thank goodness! I am so worn out from this place so I'm glad for a four day weekend. Toby goes for his procedure tomorrow. Hope that goes well. My hubby was traveling for a couple days, so he's back home now. Have a great day!

Hello Everyone!

Safe travels, Kelly!

Amanda – I hope your new team is a good fit!

Gloria – Welcome Back!

I tried a Zumba class yesterday at a place called The Fitness Edge – it was different but fun. I feel a little worn out – yoga class will restore me. emoticon

Have a great day all!

You'll be fine Amanda once you adjust to the midnight sun. I'm sure the day shift will miss you too.

Welcome back Gloria, it's always fun to go home, see family and it's because its a celebration. Love your new profile picture by the way! You've been running more lately, have you developed extra muscle? Sometimes just traveling your bod decides to rebel because it's in a different mode. I would grab something for 10 bucks too. Oh and you never know what size something is. I was going to buy some tee's last night too. Tried one on, fit fine and glad I tried the second one on, same company and style and size but fit smaller. Not the first time that has happened. The sales lady said it isn't uncommon, although they are the same they likely weren't made in the same factory or even the same country. I found a cute dressy shirt, then that outfit so the tee's were out as I was out of money. Oh, this outfit is made here in the USA and on sale! The cards were from participating in a cancer study, not bad for just going and giving up a few vials of blood to Elvira.

I'm hearing on the radio that the Spring Hill GM plant will likely be producing one of the Cadillac lines!

I'll be off the grid for a few days, our son-in-law's Dad passed away and will head to Florida tomorrow morning. That dear man was sicker than hubs was and for longer, he is finally at Peace.

Looks like the summer heat is breaking, at least for awhile. Have a good one!

Today has been a long day. I only got about 5 hours of sleep last night, as I had to be up early for some doctor's appointments. The good thing is that I also got some stuff done that I needed to do at the HR office at work and went to a Bible study at church. Tonight, I have to stay up most of the night, as tomorrow, I start to work nights again at an area hospital. I hope I find it to be the right thing for me. I know I really enjoyed the day shift staff when I worked/oriented with them over the last 3 weeks.

Here is to a good day's sleep tomorrow.

Blessings,

Hi All! Got back from our trip to my parents' very late last night - it was my dad's birthday so there was a party and I got to see some aunts, uncles, cousins, my sister's family - very wonderful! Also had dinner with one of my best friends since age nine. Group run tonight at Fleet Feet, had a great run for once, you're right Kelly, even though it is still humid, somehow it felt better out there. I suspect it might be because the wind is from the NE and that makes it feel better. So for Kelly's question about the closet, I bought an outfit up in Michigan, it is shorts and a top, really cute. Lately my weight is creeping up, don't know why, so the outfit is my size but feels a bit snug. Normally I wouldn't buy something that doesn't fit well but it was $10 FOR BOTH! and I figure it is some incentive for me to figure out what is causing this weight creep and get it under control!

Every once in awhile, a dig out a jump start piece from your closet makes it rounds. That came to mind tonight as I was trying on a dress that actually fit, but could fit a bit better...since it is more a fall/winter outfit and I had a gift card, it came home with me and is hanging in a prominent spot in the closet. So, what's in your closet that you haven't worn in awhile? Or what did you spot in the store?

Seemed less humid this evening, maybe just gotten used to it already. Not sure what's in store for the rest of the week.

I hear you Kelly - the calendar is off this year It's too early for Labor Day Weekend! Oh well...

Bonnie good job on your hiking!

Gwenn - On my SP Start Page I personalized me goals to remind me to live in the now, and to be grateful and kind. It helps to see those every day! That and being outside as much as the heat will allow really keep me going....

Well Bonny, when you burn that many cals, they are going to scream at you...feed me!

That's a great challenge Gwenn, for sure it's been a tough month or so for you. Guess it is something we all should do every once in awhile.

Another hottie today, keep that h2o bottle near by. Can you believe this is Labor Day week-end already? Geez, someone slow the time machine down a bit.

Here's to a new week! I am doing a facebook challenge to name 3 things for 5 days of what I'm grateful for. And then I nominate three people each day. Anyway, just thought it was a good thing for me to be doing as I've been struggling with some things personally.

Super hot this week! Stay hydrated everyone!

P.S. Have noticed the new change on the boards and I like it. Makes the posts easier for me to read!

Well your go to recipe sounds really good Toni! I'd have a hard time with only 1 T though. Bet you'll find lots of ways to eat it up.

Bonny!!! I'd say yah, you are done for the day, just glad your body hasn't smacked you! HaHa

Absolutely nothing exciting on this end, so enjoy the rest of the day!

Quick check in. Hope everyone is staying inside or drinking plenty of water. It's awfully hot out there. I did a walk this morning (90 minutes) and I was a 'dripping mess' when I got back. Just about 5 miles and I'm done for the day!

Best to all!

Kelly - the tomato adventure was a disaster! The only tomatoes I could find were either half yellow outside and only half ripe inside, or red outside and almost complete unripe inside! I guess the heat just bakes them at some point? So out of a half bushel I ended up with 7 1/2 cups of tomatoes - not enough to make more than 2 jars of sauce.

But I never give up. I went online and found a recipe for Tomato Basil Jam that called for 7 1/2 cups of chopped tomatoes, Basil Leaves, Lemon Juice and a bunch of sugar. The recipe made 10 half pints, and I must say, the results are WAY TOO YUMMY. It works out to about 50 Calories for a tablespoon. I used it on my English muffin this morning. Yummo!

Well Toni, are you up to elbows in 'maters?

Another day to stay ahead of the hydration scale. It was nice though that the temp dropped so much after the storms yesterday.

Kelly - when I actually got over there and saw the 'maters in person, I had second, third AND fourth thoughts....I bought 1 half bushel. I haven't canned since before I went to Alaska, so I think I should take it slow this year and do 1/2 a bushel well.....:)

For sure on the hydration folks! It doesn't take much and we've had such mild weather, our bod's are going to adjust slowly. 55 minutes - Gloria! Please take it easy tomorrow. And yes, this will likely go on through the week-end.

I'm more mad at myself over this, to top it off she ended her email with something to the effect of coming back. Well, had a credit from previous purchases so went in, grabbed a fresh pair of swiftwicks for the son who just committed to another Ironman in April. He should be committed, ha ha. But it'll be awhile before they get anything else out of me.

Come on Friday...

Kelly, so Fleet Feet still didn't get that shoe situation rectified? That is crazy! They are so well known for their customer service, I just hate to hear that they didn't take care of it.

Amanda, thanks for the reminder about outdoor workouts. Mine was a 55 minute run, it was brutal. I am still trying to re-hyrdrate but I have tummy issues and just can't eat/drink very much at once. Actually I overdid the food/drink and I feel like I ate a big turkey dinner. I had a half salad from Panera and about some liquids - that is how bad it is, my tummy can't even differentiate between actual food and drink. It thinks it is full all of the time.

I think that this heat is going to get worse before it gets better, everyone be safe!

I seriously thought I would do the next round at Fleet Feet after seeing how much you enjoyed yours but I'm still mad at them.

Sorry things are so hectic for you at work, geez never seems to slow down for you!!! Deep breath, slowllly exhale, repeat as necessary.

Can you believe it's Thursday already? I'm always happy for Friday.

Hope all of you came through the storms yesterday. Hermitage got hit pretty hard in spots. Amazing how quickly it came up, certainly didn't expect it to be that wild. They are saying it could happen again later this afternoon. The air was so thick at 8A, thought to myself, really?

I am rushing by quickly, I am swamped at work right now and under a bunch of tight deadlines! But I wanted to give you all the head's up on the new walking/running group that is starting up on September 2nd at Fleet Feet in Brentwood. It is for 11 weeks, it is for ALL levels, walkers and runners and in between - it is for all shapes, sizes and ages. There will be folks who just walk, some who just run, and some who do intervals (run/walk - various times, 1 min. run, 1 min. walk, 2 min. run, 1 min. walk and 3 min. run, 1 min. walk). There are running coaches, mentors and you will make a lot of friends! Group walks/runs are on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 7:30 a.m., rain or shine (no lightning though). Then there is "homework" - either walking/running or cross training with rest days built in. The end result is a 5K in November - or for those who decide to be bold and daring, a 10K! I believe that the cost is $125 - this time we got some freebies, like technical socks, a shirt. Also, there have been other things, like a workshop on walking/running form, a mini-massage after our group travels, a physical therapist who has come a couple of times to do injury assessments....it has been so informational and fun, I love it! And the best part is the encouragement and the camaraderie! So here is the link to the website, or if you want to know more, just pop me a message! I will try to do a GOOD check in with you all later and get everyone up to date!

Hear you about rainy days Amanda, sometimes it is just best to go with the flow and not worry about what should've gotten done. Will you be doing the 12 hours rotation? I don't know how nurses do that, especially the full day shift.

Good job Gwenn! Cats find the funniest things to amuse us with don't they? Guess you'll have to buy a new one because he might take exception to you borrowing his brush. They generally do lab work before hand to make sure they can be put under, he'll be fine.

You will love Zumba Gold Toni, I've got the shaker weights and you can tell the difference. Although I bet you make anything you do fun to be around.

Oh my, do I feel for those who have to travel on 65 around Peytonsville Road. Pack a drink, snack, patience and something to listen to.

Have a good week everyone!

Good afternoon everyone!

Wow – Amanda – 3rd shift. A friend of mine from back home who is an RN loves that shift. She says there is none of the drama that there is during the day and NONE of the potluck lunches either! I guess if you work it enough you adjust and it’s nice being able to run errands during the day. Let us know how it works out for you.

Gwenn – WTG on your loss! That sure boosts your enthusiasm, doesn’t it! Poor Toby – and funny Toby – I can just him preening on the toilet brush LOL! Cats are amazing.

Kelly - I saw that about the Parkinson’s – how sad. And yeah – I am on a roll lately. emoticon

I found another Zumba class here in Dickson – It is at one of the gyms. They do Zumba Gold on Tuesday and Thursday. My class on Friday is free, so I think I will try to pick up the Tuesday class this week.

Everyone have a great Monday!

Work is going well for me. One more week of days before I switch to the night shift. I hope the night shift staff is as great as the day shifters have been. They don't seem to be as peppy though.

In my 3 days off, I hhaven't seemed to get much done. Friday, I did get a couple errands ran with a trip to the doctor, but latelt I have lazied around and slept. Rainy days are good for sleep when you worked all night, but they sure aren't motivating when you need to be awake during the day.

Happy Sunday everyone. Had a full day yesterday. Took both kitties to the vet for shots. Toby is diabetic and this is the second time he has had mouth sores in about two months. More antibiotics for him, plus he is going in for a teeth cleaning on the 29th. Makes me nervous because they put them under and he's 12 next month. But I know it needs done and hopefully will solve this problem. Lilly seems to be in good health at 10 years old. She had blood work done and they are supposed to call me tomorrow. They recommended her teeth to be cleaned but I'm going to wait till I take care of Toby.

Did a little shopping for household stuff. Funny story. We bought a toilet bowl brush and when we brought it home, Toby thought it was for him to rub his face. lol

Went to see Lachlan Peterson at Zanies last night. He was one of the three finalists on The Last Comic Standing. He was really great!

We were going to go to the Wilson Co Fair today....but it's raining, so that's out. Weekly weigh in this morning and I lost 2.6 pounds this week! I just changed my eating to alot less and more Atkins based. I know some of it is probably water weight too. Going to try to follow my workout this week more than I did the previous week.

Yea Gloria!

And Toni, you geaux gurl yourself!!! Old is only a number, not a state of mind says the oldest of all of you. That's what I tell myself everyday but sometimes the bod says try that again and you will regret it. So yes, I ignore it and pay for it later.

Gee, I just heard that Robin was in the early stages of Parkinsons.

TGIF Everyone!

Gwenn - glad to hear you are on the upswing! I hear you about the 'health club up sell'. Those poor people work on a commission. You really can't beat the Williamson County Rec Center's. They have all kinds of classes too. The one in Fairview is awesome. Maybe one of these days, but for right now, my Senior Center is working well for me. Isn't that the wildest thing ever - Toni at a Senior Center? ROTFLMFAO! Old? I think not. :)

If anyone hasn't read Gloria's Blog about the 5k she ran, be sure to look it up. She is amazing!

I know it seems like the Robin Williams tributes will never stop, but I can understand why. He really was a genius. I'm enjoying all the stories his friends and family are posting online. He was one in a billion!

Gwenn, interesting your reaction to Anytime, must be in the water because I heard that from two others yesterday about the ones on this end of town. I had no idea how it worked and I'd agree, walk away especially from a two year commitment. That's quite a deal to go swim. Coleman Center on Thompson Lane I think has the same rate. Haven't been over there is quite awhile.

Will be thinking about you Monday, and good you are doing better this is never an easy time. Now to figure out a way to stay ahead of those headaches.

Have a good one, it's F R I D A YYYYYYY!!!!

Updates all around.

Robin Williams- just devastating and shocking news. Still can't believe it. Has sparked much discussion about suicide and depression, both positive and negative.

Went to visit Anytime Fitness on Tuesday night with my husband. I felt like I was leasing an apartment the way the girl was sitting there calculating all this crap. Too expensive in my book for the equipment they had. It was new and open and bright, but they had 3 treadmills. She automatically went to the 2 year plan at 30 bucks a person, but it's $50/person month to month. Plus $50/person for their key. I wasn't impressed. Sort of kicking around Franklin Athletic Club because they have a plethora of machines, but it has a few drawbacks. We've now put the gym membership discussion on the back burner. I'm quite happy with what I do at home and have the equipment I need. He only pays $2/visit to the Williamson Rec Center to swim, which is completely reasonable.

One more blood test on Monday to make sure my hormone level is finally to zero. Most likely it is, but you never know. The doctor now believes I had an ectopic that my body rid itself of. I don't really understand how he came to that conclusion since he did not see any evidence of one in two ultrasounds. So I disagree, but at this point, doesn't really matter!

I'm doing better mentally this week, although this week I have had two terrible headaches which has hindered me from working out the way I want to. One day at a time!

Whoot Amanda! I say anyone who works at Vandy has their activity level amped up. Good job on your eating. Your body may just need to adjust on your days off, you'll figure it out in due time.

Nothing much going on in this part of town, have a good one all!

Welcome back Bonny! I do love your pictures!

The news showed a statistic that there are 108 suicides every day. Somewhere else I read that 22 of those daily suicides are veterans. So sad.

Kelly that decrappify web site is something else!

See y'all tomorrow...

Good morning team. Yes, SHE lives! Not that you missed me, but after my l.o.n.g walk this morning, I realized I had to come to SP to track it and find out how many miles I walked. It was 5.63 and I'm sitting here 'wringing wet' and recovering.

Hope everyone is doing well. I read some of the comments - Kelly, I posted daily pictures on FB and if you're on it, I don't have you as a 'friend.' Toni has seen the pics and I'm sure she's tired of them by now,but I'm back home for a spell.

Have a good day!

Here's the link to decrappyfy. A friend found this before Lent, of course I didn't get it done then but every once in awhile I get a bug and hit it. It looks like she has done a summer version.

I was laughing Gloria because there's only one of me and it seems to multiply big time when I'm not looking.

Good point on the gym Toni, Gwenn visit the place maybe at a time you would likely go and see how the vibe goes. I have friend who is a 2nd shift 911 dispatcher and belongs to a 24 hr in MtJ and enjoys it. Says after being held over hours and going at 2-3 AM has been a great stress reliever.

High Five Toni on your shoulder, I knew it was doing better but that is awesome improvement!

Yesterday was the day the laughter died, Rest in Peace Robin Williams.

Yoo-hoo! Good day everyone!

Gwenn, I LOVED belonging to the gym. If I wasn't in the mood for the elliptical, I could row or bike. If the free weights were busy, I would do the 'nautilus' type machines. The variety was wonderful, as was the swimming pool, the hot tub, the nice clean showers, etc... And the unlimited classes were very nice as well. Let me know what you decide! emoticon

Today is weight lifting day. The class is a seated class, but I stand in the back to make the workout aerobic. My shoulder is feeling so much better - a year ago I was in such pain and the doctor wanted to do surgery, I said, no-no-no! We went the physical therapy route and it still hurt. Now I can sleep on it again, and it must be these classes at the senior center. Who knew?

Have a grand day everyone!

Hello everyone! I've started back up with my workout routine. I'm feeling it today. I think my husband and I may check out 24 hour fitness to see if we want to join. Meaning, how expensive is it? We both have discounts from our insurance, but not sure if that will be enough for me. I'm perfectly fine working out at home, but maybe I would be even more motivated if I was paying monthly for it. Who knows. I'm not too into all of the machines. I don't run anymore and I really only like to ride an exercise bike. I should just buy a bike instead.

So about the only thing I've been focused on is working out and now I'm back to watching what I eat- trying to do more Atkins, but not sure I want to go the whole way with that since I started out the working out right away. I have been kind of depressed this past weekend just with everything, which I guess is to be expected. Job, where I live, baby thing, life. I just need to get out of my funk, but it's difficult.

So Happy Monday everyone!

LOL, I need to decrappify big time. My house was clean last weekend, how did it get into such a state in just five days? And I didn't have time to take care of it this weekend. It is likely to just get worse as the week goes on so tonight I will have to do something!

Glad we got some rain though we didn't get a whole lot in Hendersonville, none yesterday and just a bit on Saturday, maybe we will get some more today.

Today is up in the air, I have physical therapy for my knees this morning and I think lunch with a friend. I think that today will end up being a rest day from exercise, everything is just too unknown as far as scheduling.

Seems like the voter turnout wasn't that heavy yesterday, I was surprised by that. Glad we finally got some rain, hope it actually soaked it, it was coming down so hard that I thought it might all run off. Sounds like we are in for some more of the stuff today and tomorrow.

Kelly, I thought bloat too, or sodium retention, but this has been hanging around for a while now. Since it happened overnight I thought it was just one of those blips on the radar screen, nothing to be concerned with, I barely paid attention but now that it has been several days, I am trying to be more attentive. Hard though because it is ice cream season!

Last night went to my paper crafts group with my friends, wow, we had so much fun. Four of us shared a flip flop cookie, a white chocolate raspberry mini loaf cake, and a cinnamon roll type thing...I had to track that stuff and I think I came out okay calorie wise because I was very cautious throughout the rest of the day and had salads and lean meat, but I will continue to be attentive to my sugar and sodium intake for now until I figure out what is going on. I am still wondering if it had to do with that greasy Wendy's hamburger of my DH's that I sampled!

Well Gloria, that was quite a homework assignment! I'm so happy you had a guardian angel behind you. SunTrust is famous for overselling, their jobs depend on it, sadly.

I have a wrist cuff from Nathan that is wonderful. You can tuck, your license, card, cash and most pedometers in it. That might be something for you to consider.

Well, the lawns got a good drink last night. Wonder when it'll come today?

Not much on this end of town, have a good one and a great week-end!

Okay y'all, get a load of what happened to me today! I had to do my "homework" for my running group, 35 minutes of running. I will be out with my friends tonight so I did it at lunch time. I walked to Centennial Park, started to run there, was feeling very good, knees and hips don't hurt, my pace is good, I can actually breathe (small wonder in this bad air that we have). I go a mile...realize that my work badge/driver's license/debit card are no longer attached to my shorts. YIKES! Panic attack! I turn and run back to where I came from. Didn't find. Run to SunTrust! In my nasty sweaty glory, I sit in the customer sales manager's office and cancel my card while he tries to hard sell me some of their financial products. NO, I just want to cancel my card please! Anyway, I came back to work, got a temporary badge, took a shower and came back to my desk. And lo and behold, the security desk called to say that a police officer had found my stuff and brought it here! Isn't that totally awesome!

Oh no, I'm sure you already found out - that ballot is humongous! There have been reports of wrong ballots being given, what amazes me is folks don't know to speak up before they vote?
If you don't vote you can't gripe, I like to gripe therefore I vote. I went over about 10, no crowd no nothing; they said earlier there were lines but not what they expected.

We are about to get our lawns watered big time between now and Saturday. Just saw the Weather Service pictures of projections. Why does it have to come all at once?

Good for you Gwen getting back slowly into the routine. Take your time and let your mind and body heal.

Sounds like a little bloat you got goin' on there Gloria...hate that. All this chatter about food reminds me I haven't had lunch yet. Looks like it'll have to be salad, everything else is in the freezer. Have my mandatory yearly labs this afternoon, oh how I dislike Healthspring and their nosey selves. I'll have a chai for you Toni.

Hear you Gloria about the traffic up your way, was up there maybe a month ago and thought this is worse than Nashville.

CUL8R!

I started back up with doing my workouts. I think I really only took a week off, but maybe it was longer. I did alot of walking previously as I didn't want to do the jumping around with Turbo Jam or weight lifting. I can't believe how far behind you get when you stop for such a short amount of time. I've also gained several pounds. I know part of it is my situation, but still. I have been SO tired when I get home, but I made myself do Walk Away the Pounds, even just one mile, because I need to get back into a routine. I'm trying to start up my combo workouts of Chalean Extreme (weight lifting) and Turbo Jam (Cardio) this coming Sunday. We'll see how that goes. I might need to give myself another week. I'm usually pretty good about listening to my body.

Like you, Gloria, I'm trying to clean up my diet. I wasn't really eating that terrible but just alot more because I was always hungry. It's almost a relief to not really want to eat much these past few days. Trying to increase my water which is such a struggle for me.

Hope today's traffic isn't horrible! It looks like Williamson County schools may have started today. I saw kids standing on the sidewalks. Stay cool ladies!

Supposed to be hot hot hot again today and I think that the humidity is coming back. Yikes!

Toni, can't believe that someone tried to influence your vote, they should have been reported, that is so illegal! I have always voted and I've been dragging my DH with me since he was about 22 years old but over the past couple of years he won't vote and has no interest, desire or motivation to do so. Kind of bothers me but I try not to worry too much about things over which I have no control.

Toni, I am trying to clean up my eating for a few days, thus, not many chips! I don't really watch my weight per se because fluctuates like everyone's does, but I do watch the trends...my trend seems to hold pretty tightly within about 0.2 pound or so but one night I had a two pound weight increase that didn't go down and the trend has gone up along with it....I am still way under goal so no worries there, but my pants are TIGHT! And I don't like it! So I am trying to cut back a little on the junk. Today won't be too great since I am going out with the girls for paper crafts (mostly card making) tonight - and we will go to Panera and have a flip flop cookie and some chai! But I will share the cookie with at least a couple of other women so it won't be the worst thing that I could do! The cookie is shortbread, has 440 calories and 21 grams of fat - first ingredient, flour, second ingredient, butter! Everyone knows that BUTTER is my FAVORITE food, no kidding!

Yesterday kind of stank, had to stay at work two hours late and traffic was a nightmare, we actually ended up stopping at Rivergate on the way to have dinner because it was taking so long - glad I rode with my DH yesterday. Didn't get home until 7:30 p.m. and then it was nearly bedtime, ugh! Oh, and someone had the genius idea of taking Church Street between NES and the downtown YMCA from four lanes to three, one of the three is now a dedicated left turn lane...no where to turn left along that stretch unless one wants to turn off the bridge and fall into the rail yard down below - traffic along that stretch is now just a disaster, backed up both ways from one end to the other. Hope someone gets a clue and puts it back to four lanes.

Gloria you are a good woman to resist a whole pile of chips! I agree - Zoe's menu is so nice!

I'm going to vote - I hope the real ballot isn't as confusing as the sample I got in the mail! I had a wild experience when I voted two years ago - the poll worker tried to show me who to vote for! And when I said I didn't want to vote for that candidate - oh I would be dead if looks could kill. Hopefully I will encounter a kinder and gentler poll worker today.

Have a good one y'all!

We did go to Chuy's, and I think I came out of it relatively unscathed! I got the grilled chicken salad...it was just lettuce, tomato and grilled chicken. Supposed to have avocado but I suppose that they forgot to put it on there. I would have liked that but didn't say anything. Had a few chips but not outrageous, maybe five or six chips. And for dressing, I just asked for some sliced lime and squirted it on the salad, yummy and delicious!

I've never been to Zoe's so I checked out the menu on-line, it sounds so good, I wish we lived south instead of north!

Thanks Kelly (and Gloria for your message).

I love Mexican. Haven't had it in so long! But it is definitely my downfall and now that I can drink again....it's such a toss up between Cinco de Mayo and Tito's in Spring Hill. But I could eat Cinco EVERY day!

Today we are going to Zoe's Kitchen for lunch. They opened a new one in Franklin and I just tried it this past weekend. DELISH! I know they have one in Green Hills.

I wish it was Friday! Have a great day everyone!

Hugs Gwenn, I'm going to steal Toni's words to you.

Well Toni, I'd take Mexican over what could have happened had you eaten something that didn't taste right! I love 'maters this time of year too...and never thought to have what you fixed for breakfast.

Chuy's, there's another place I haven't been to in a long time. Check mate on the jalapeno dip.

All this chatter about food reminds me, I'd better go feed my now growling tummy. Have a great day!

Oh Mexican, don't we all have a love hate relationship with it? If it wasn't for the chips I would be okay! Ah, but one day Toni, since you are back on your game, it will be OKAY! I am not sure where we are going for lunch today, maybe Chuy's. I will be okay with it as long as they don't bring the creamy jalapeno dip to the table - that stuff is my downfall for sure!

Holy guacamole! I had Mexican out last night because the chicken I was going to use for a burrito recipe just didn't taste right. So, I totally went off plan - fell off the SP Wagon! Today I am dusting myself off and making better choices. I am determined not to let one meal derail me! Breakfast was toasted multigrain English Muffin Halves each with a half ounce of LF provolone, a thick slice of fresh tomato, with a teasp of LF mayo and a sprinkle of romano cheese - then baked. I love tomato season!

Everyone have a great day!

Gwenn - I am so sorry for your loss and glad to hear the stress has lifted - taking a break is a great strategy. We all need to remind ourselves to live fully in the present and take life day by day, knowing that we are loved. Remembering that the Universe/God/Spirit provides has gotten me through some tough times. I'm sad for you, but happy too because I know you are going to be ok. Hugs...

Oh yeah! Me with hiking poles! Ha! I can't imagine having four legs! You go girl! :)

Hi everyone. Sorry for my quietness. I haven't had too much going on or to say. I was hoping, YET again, to have an awesome surprise for people, and now that's not going to happen. yes, I got pregnant again in June/early July. I was being monitored by my doctor: 2 early ultrasounds, LOTS of bloodwork to check levels. They were going up very slowly and he was concerned about a tubal, which I have had before. Today I had bloodwork and he actually called me from being on call at the ER to tell me my levels had dropped and I would most likely miscarry. I was kind of expecting it as I felt the symptoms had become less. I'm sad, but probably a little bit relieved because it just felt like nothing was happening the way it should. It was very stressful so I'm just going to let this happen naturally, as far as I can help it, and take a break.

Other than that, I'm doing good. Did the Mossy Ridge trail yesterday with our new hiking poles. I had to get used to those! They are kind of like using skiis to me- too much coordination! lol

Good morning!

I never did go to the store yesterday - I drove by and the lot was packed, so another day and I'll just pay the tax. YES WE NEED RAIN! I sure hope we get some soon - the ground is turning to dust, and the dust makes its way inside.

Kelly - not sure about this week yet, I am getting very close to needing a trip to Trader Joes. Let me see if my Yoga pal wants to make the trip this week - we usually stop at McKays too.

Later.....

Well, who knew Ryka was around for so long? I have had a few pairs myself. I hope so too, this is my first bad experience with them. We'll see.

I've heard good things about the Waterfront. If your fish was really good you know it had more than a tbsp of butter on it, but I would say you walked off the extra at Long Hunter. Yes, it was a nice day yesterday. Although I wish we would get a little rain to soften the ground.

School's open...beaware of all those mommies running the roads with glee!

Have a good one.

I've been wearing Rykas since the late 80s when they first came out, one time got some Avias but went back the Rykas. I am wearing other stuff now for running but Rykas continue to be my favorite walking shoe - I keep a pair at home and one at work. Kelly, I hope that the owner of Fleet Feet helps you. In my experience with them so far they have had EXCELLENT customer service so I am very shocked that they didn't give you the right price...which to me is the price on the box regardless and no way were the ones in the box with the price that was $10 less an upgraded pair! I hope you get an E-mail from them but if you don't I would certainly call because that is ridiculous!

No chai for me tonight, just not sure about my calories because we went to the Waterfront Grill at Four Points Marina and had lunch. It is just so hard to know how many calories are in the stuff. I got grilled fish with asparagus but how much butter was on it? After that we went to Long Hunter and walked the two mile loop around Couchville Lake. It was a quite a pretty day!

Ouch Gloria. Two Bunions! Enjoy the new shoes, you were probably over due for a pair.

I discovered Ryka more than 10 years ago on QVC. It is a company run by women and the shoe is designed for a woman's foot. But they are not listening to the previous buyers it seems, the prices have gone up quite a bit and the quality just isn't there.

It's the same with all clothing it seems. What a friend told me years ago it may be identical but likely they were made in different factories, even a different country with no standardization. Maddening when you have to try each and everything on.

I got a pair of Saucony at Fleet Foot, of course they weren't on sale. It got worse at the register. They rang up 10 bucks higher. They way the register is set up you don't know what it rings up at until after the fact (hate that). I look at the receipt asking about it, geez I know there's inflation but this is hyperinfation! Get this, she says well there was an upgrade in the shoes. Really, the shoes in the box with a lower price just upgraded itself, how smart is that. She offered to void the sale, was very polite. I would go home empty handed wasting all that gas and time so I said no I'll just let the owner know that I am not at all happy about their policies. We'll see if I get a response to my email. If not, I'll drop a line to them. Likely will not shop there again. And of course put the be very aware word out.

I agree about GNC, if you just want basic stuff you can generally find it there but they certainly aren't full service. Interesting, there is a small GNC in Donelson that despite it's size is better stocked than the bigger one. Years ago a friend suggested I get Arnica cream for hubs (it's a great natural product mostly for muscle and joint pains but I've used it as an all purpose product) and have been hooked ever since. After going to two other GNC's I ended up in my own back yard (didn't even know it was there, just happened to notice it sitting in traffic) Around here I don't think they even have a health food store, another thing that is becoming a thing of the past.

Hope you found something Toni. Sitting here with my Chai and thinking we need to get together sometime. Ran out of coffee, this is a nice change. Thursday this week is out.

Bonny if you're lurking out there, have some great fresh seafood, sand and sun for us! Hope to see you home soon.

What are you up to Gwenn, been a bit quiet lately.

Well, we were supposed to get rain over night, didn't happen here. Have a great day, geez can you believe it's August already. As the daughter reminded us all, 21 weeks til Christmas.

I've never heard of Ryka's - I learn something new everyday! Thanks for that info about Zappos, Kelly. I didn't realize the return shipping was covered. Gloria - I have never seen the value of the GNC stores - anytime I go in they never have what I'm looking for. A Nutrition store that doesn't have coconut sugar?

I may head over to the shoe store here in Dickson and see what's on sale...:)

Have a great day everyone!

I've worn Rykas for years and I hear ya Kelly, the sizing has gotten wonky. I have a narrow heel but a I have a massive bunion on one foot and a smaller one on the other - not a result of wearing heels as I have NEVER worn heels, but apparently hereditary as my aunt has the same situation. The Rykas seem to work well for me. I bought a pair a couple of years ago in my size and they were just too short. Just bought two more pairs earlier this year and I got a size bigger, they are identical shoes but I am not kidding when I say that the two pairs are not the same size! One is shorter than the other despite being the same exact model and size.

I got my new running shoes today, they are New Balance. I had a coupon from New Balance and got some tax off too so I feel pretty happy with the purchase.

I told my DH that we couldn't go shopping today but he wanted to go to Target. It was pretty busy but not as bad as it might have been. Went to GNC too, it had been years since I had been in one and I don't really see any reason to go there again any time soon, just not my thing I guess.

I love the Ryka brand of shoes but they are hard to find around here, much less on sale. I have a wide foot high arch and it seems that even Ryka hasn't kept their quality control in check because you never know how it'll fit even in the length. So I hesitate to order on line. If I don't see something today I'll check out zappos because it's free shipping both ways. Drives me nuts what these places charge for shipping and handling then we have to pay tax on that too. I don't mind tax on the item but shipping?

Nothing exciting here either, looks like we have a same stuff different weekend. Have a good one!!!

I am getting some new running shoes this weekend! Yay! But otherwise I don't plan to get out into the mess, people are just crazy and insane on tax free weekend, worse than Christmas I think! I might pick up a couple of things on-line though.

Supposed to be good weather. I don't have any plans other than to get stuff done at home...same story different weekend, LOL!

I guess they would almost have to open for tax free week-end. Folks forgetting to turn off their auto sprinklers caused a drop in pressure this morning, but it is slowly coming back on line. They are still handing out water.

Just heard a traffic alert for 65N of Nashville for the week-end. Construction delays.

Nothing exciting on this end of town, everyone have a mahvalous week-end. Maybe I'll get a new pair of walkers.

Attention Shoppers, there will be no blue light specials at Green Hills Mall...

Major water main break in the area, affecting the mall. Don't have an update from OEM.

At least it is nice outside, WHOOT!

Honestly can't believe this weather, it is more like October than July! Yesterday I was out walking and I saw a maple that had started to turn red on one side. I should have taken a photo! That is the only tree that I have seen like that but it definitely shouldn't be turning until at least mid-October, weird. So we had an extra cold winter, and now we have had a mild summer, what do you suppose this winter will hold for us?
