Good morning! emoticon emoticon WooHoo!

I woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! I KNEW the sun gave me energy!

Kelly~ My spies at Publix in Hermitage are on the lookout for you! :) They've been told, NO gelato for you! Glad you're having a good time. It's amazing how fast time goes, especially when our heart is saying "that was yesterday!" Enjoy your time with them!

Clokwise~ our journeys are all so individual. *What works for one may not work for others.*
I truly believe tho that the answer lies mostly in what's going in. My favorite quote is "You can't outrun your fork!" A full days worth of exercise won't undo poor choices in diet. I know you said that your food is pretty on point, so really put it under a microscope. Is there something that can be tweaked?
Sugar is a HUGE culprit, and it's in everything processed! Flour is another biggie.
I agree with Kelly about looking at other NSVs (non-scale victories) How you feel and how your clothes fit tells a lot more about your journey to health than the scale.

I've just recently gotten past a number on the scale that I've been struggling with for a LONG time. Here's my story, but I'm not preaching. No one truly has THE answer for everyone.
I've been on Spark for quite a while and even captained in a major challenge for many years. My team always did great, but their captain..... not so much.
No matter what I did, the pounds wouldn't leave me. Just recently tho, I finally had movement on the scale thru clean eating. I honestly think what did it for 'me' was letting go of ... sugar.
The first thing I did was a *10-Day Detox by Mark Hyman MD. It wasn't anything funky, just REAL food, fruits, veggies, protein. NO sugar, grains, alcohol, coffee, milk, processed foods.
He includes other things in the detox like vitamins, epsom baths, etc, but I only did the food part. I figured '10 days? I can do 10 days.' It got me out of that "decade of weight" that I'd been in for 7 or 8 years that didn't want to let go of me. AND I felt great! That was last summer, I still loosely follow it and that weight I lost is still gone.
Another book I used last fall was *The End of DIeting by Joel Fuhrman. It's similar in that it's about 'whole foods' and clean eating. Then this spring I found a challenge on FB called the 'Healthy You Challenge' by Dawna Stone (there is also a book). Again, it's all about Clean Eating. None of these are necessarily the 'Answer' but they all helped me over a hurdle that was HUGE for me. I still have a way to go.

Wow, that almost sounded preachy, but I didn't mean it that way. It's just what worked for me.

Hi Gwen! Nice to meet you!

Hi Gloria!

Hi Clokwise, come on by often! Are you looking at the NSV's as far as how you look, feel, energy level, etc? That danged scale can drive us all batty. Maybe look at how much carbs you take in, are you eating several small meals a day? You will get a lot of questions from this group, I just thought I'd kick it off. Just don't let discouragement get the best of you (easier said than done I know)

Well, no wonder we have gotten so much wet stuff, little Miss Winkerdink! The few times I get over to the Hermitage Publix, I stand by the gelato case waiting to see if you catch me, then I run like crazy through the check out line.

We had our share of wet stuff along with high humidity, luckily the wet stuff didn't get us when we were out. Graduation was nice, how time flies. Hard to think that 25 years ago our son was graduating HS, now we celebrate their son. Touch of patriotism, one of the speakers asked all in the class that were either going straight into the service or onto a military academy to stand, quite a few stood. The arena erupted with cheers and applause. Amazed too, how many flag designs were on their caps.

I'd get that foot checked Gloria, maybe someone at Fleet Feet might have an idea? You may need a doc other than a podiatrist.

Hey Toni and Gwenn, hope all is well. Bonny hasn't slipped town but she is a short timer.

Well, will stop by tomorrow, just wanted to say Hi to all youse guys and stay dry!

Kelly

Just thought I'd reach out. I've seen crazier things happen. Looking for someone in the Nashville area to meet with about some goals I have. Just thought I'd try here first. I have been busting my butt for about 7 months now, I strength train, cardio, and have my eating pretty on point, but the weight just doesn't seem to come off like I would have hoped or thought it would for the amount of work I've put into this. Just a little disheartening. Anyone in the Nashville area? Thanks!

Wendy! Welcome back! It is a bit damp isn't it? I wanted to take a quick walk around the block at lunch time, was afraid of getting rained on so opted out.

Hi Nashville!
Wow, I haven't been in here for ages. Nice to see a couple of familiar names tho!

I feel quite mildewy lately, and no energy. I need SUN for my energy! I think the rest of the week is supposed to be better. Fingers crossed!

Gloria~ you look amazing in your profile pic! emoticon (well, not that green tho!)

Kelly~ I see you jumped the wet ship! I hope it's nice where you are!

I'm going to try and stop in here more often. ( I know you're all doing this emoticon hahaha!)

What IS up with all of this rain? El Nino or something? I guess we will have green grass for longer if this continues.

I am working....right now waiting on IT to complete some processes. I should be working on some stuff while I wait, but I am taking advantage of the spare time to get a couple of things done.

Something is wrong with my foot...maybe tendinitis. I don't want to tear it so I am working on some stretches...might go to a podiatrist but he is open 9 - 5 and this week's work schedule just won't accommodate that. I am registered for the Franklin 1/2 marathon next weekend, not sure I will be able to do it.

Hi, all. Another quick drive-by!

Toni, you DO need to remind me on FB (as you said) 'cause I fell off again until I saw a SparkPeople post.

Kelly, it was a short visit - I know I can't hide. BUT, I have another NINE days and I'm outta here!!

Have a good weekend!

Hugs,
Bonny

We'll get something scheduled when Kelly gets back! It will be great to see everyone.

Weather can't seem to decide what it wants to do this week. My hubby made it back from New Mexico on his motorcycle. He got drenched on the way out there - stuck in stopped traffic for 45 minutes - no where to go. But it was a dry trip back. Yay!

Have a great day y'all!

We definitely don't need to wait until football season for a little get together! It has already been way too long. The group is pretty small right now but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have a little gathering!

Enjoy your time in Florida Kelly, hope that the weather holds off.

McNamara's is the place for football but let's not wait for that season to get together. Definitely when the schedule comes out let's plan on it.

Welcome back Gloria! I am sorry to hear about your Aunt. Some folks never change and others you can't help but wonder if that is the same person. Sounds like good news on Lemur.
Wow, a 15k!!! That rain was really something yesterday and hope the worst of it doesn't move through until after I fly out this afternoon.

High Five Toni, seems some of what you lost found it's way over to me haha! Awesome job but I would never have thought you needed to drop that much.

Likely won't be on much over the next week, headed down for our grandson's high school graduation and spend some time with our daughter. So save some mischief for when I get back.

Better get your row boats ready, after all of this rain I hear that we are going to have more through out the week. I did a 15k this morning and it rained through the whole thing.

Toni, so very glad that your poison ivy has final healed. That had to be so very uncomfortable. And then to hurt your toe/foot like that, yowza, that HAD to hurt! Down, 26 pounds, congrats! That is AWESOME! You've totally got this 18 pounds, YOU CAN DO IT TONI!

Lemur seems to feel better. He stayed at the vet while we were away and I think they let him run around the office and be pampered. He also had a blood panel for his glucose. The vet seems happy with his progress but I thought his sugar still seemed a little high. We are going to continue with one shot per day for now.

It was interesting, I recognized most of my family but I didn't know many of my cousins kids who were just small last time I saw them and are now adults. I also didn't recognize some family friends, which is really embarrassing to me and I feel badly about that. It was so wonderful seeing my cousins, aunts and uncle - my cousins and my mom's, just wonderful. And it is never a bad thing to see my parents. Interestingly, I didn't see my sister or any of her family. She just didn't show up.

Yoo-hoo!
McNamaras is the place all the Middle Tennessee Buffalo Bills fans go to watch the game! Ive been meaning to check it out! Should we pick a date?

Gwen Happy Belated Birthday! What a lovely surprise from your hubby. He da man! Sounds like your job is starting to work out? Great photo!

Gloria sorry to hear about Femur. I hope you have the shot thing down to a routine at this point. So sorry for the loss of your Aunt. I can imagine that seeing all those relatives again was mind-blowing! Did you recognize them all? Im sorry work is still so chaotic.

Kelly Im sure lunch with Bonny was awesome, I was sorry I couldnt make it! Thats exciting about your son coming through town occasionally on his way to DC! And it sounds like you have some lovely memories of Augusta.

Bonny I will remind you to check in here when I see you on Facebook! You can move but you cant hide!

My poison ivy has healed. I now wipe the cat off when he comes in and always wash with hot soapy water after handling him.

During the poison ivy fun, I was watching a friends dog and tripped over her. I went down hard on my big toe. Half my foot in that whole area of my foot was swollen and black and blue. It is healing slowly.

I launched my Norwex business and it went well. Still learning ropes and I absolutely love the products. Im not crazy about some of the aspects of the Norwex business model, but I will find a way to work through the gnarly spots!

I started my Spark People reboot last year on May 26th and I am down 23 pounds! Yay! I updated my goal to 155 thats 18 more pounds. Im going to have a go at getting it done by the end of September.

Lets get together!!!!!

Hope you had a wonderful birthday Gwenn!

We just got back from Michigan, gone for my aunt's memorial service. It was nice to see a lot of cousins and other family who I had not seen in decades, literally. But eating was awful and I got NO exercise - everything was just so busy, our time was jam packed full.

Gwenn, did we miss a special occasion or is hubby prone to wonderful surprises? That is so sweet and I'd be all over a sunrise ride. You know, you enjoy it so much, why not look into getting into a group that does it as a hobby? It was really popular in Augusta and miss seeing them in the air, and the occasional landing in our 'hood.

It was too short a visit Bonny, just remember we expect you to visit us...

Good to hear from you Gloria, Kellie & Gwen.
I told Kellie that I will make a concerted effort to REJOIN the team after I get settled in my new digs! I have to do something about my weight, 'cause I've just let it creep back up on me. Even with the seafood I will find at the beach, maybe I can do something for me that helps my recent weight gain!

It was great having a late lunch with you Kelly and so sorry Toni couldn't make it!

Have a good rest of the week, team. I will return soon...best to you all!!!

Hugs,
Bonny

Good for you Bonny! Life is too short not to do something you have always wanted to do!

Well my hubby surprised me with Starbucks and heart shaped chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. Then said he bought me another hot air balloon trip! We were going to go today, but they canceled it because they said the wind was too strong. We are hoping to reschedule for a sunrise ride on Saturday.

About time you stopped by Miss Bonny! Just because you are turning into a full time beach bunny doesn't mean you forget where the Square is.

It is never easy to move but this is an opportunity to do something you have always wanted. Your son knows how to read a map so he will be fine, the grandkids are going to miss you.

I would say we have been lucky with just getting wet around here. Sure got humid yesterday afternoon though.

Have a great week everyone. Gwenn hope you have a more organized one. Toni, stop by soon...

SURPRISE!!!! It's me after months of being absent! Hope everyone is enjoying this day before the rains set in. I did a walk this morning - I shortened it because it looked like the rain was coming sooner than expected but I made it home, somewhat wet but that was because of my exertion, not anything coming from the sky.

If you haven't seen anything on FB, I wanted to let you know I'm moving from the Great State of Tennessee (born here, raised here, lived here all my life) TO the State of Alabama.....to the beach, Gulf Shores. I am excited about this move. I have wanted to do this for at least 25 years and after wintering there this past winter, I made the decision. My son, however, is not a big fan of this move, but he is getting better (I think). He, as well as my friends, is welcome to visit me but not at the same time!

I have done poorly with diet and have gained more than I want to talk about. I think I'm waiting for my mind to get 'right' before I do anything about it. Know what I mean?

Have a great day, friends.

Well I was about to post about no rain today and suddenly as I started typing it started to pour! We do still need rain. They have had some fierce weather in the states west of here, thankfully so far it looks like we will just get rain with some thunder. I hope.

I do love cotton candy but haven't had any in years. Ben & Jerry's had some cotton candy ice cream, don't know if they still make it or not, but it was much better than the DQ blizzard, which was just okay and not worth 600 calories. Ice cream would be my downfall if I let it.

Work still is chaos, I still see another month of tons of hours in my future.

We've never been to Taqueria del Sol but every time we are over that we I suggest it. But my husband always just wants to go to Chuy's.

Happy Sunday! I don't feel like doing much of anything today, but I'm halfway getting ready today. We went to sort food yesterday morning at Second Harvest. It was fun, but the group was hard to work with at times. We went to Taqueria del Sol off of 12th. Have you ever been there? It was pretty good. I had a salad but tasted a few bites of a beef enchilada and chicken taco.

This week should be a little less work - supposed to be scheduled for about 8 hours this week. Two hours in two stores will be done on Tuesday. I'll be at Walmart 3 times. Unfortunately I have to work on my birthday, but oh well. Such is life! haha

Have a great day everyone!

I know Gloria, well at least you got some calcium. Most mini is about all I can handle, usually end up drinking it and leaving the rest behind. But cotton candy? Hmmm

When I lived in Augusta, we had an office within walking distance of a DQ, so that was our reasoning for grabbing one, especially when it was a late night.

It was windy around here too. Wanted to go to the Fontenel for the walk100 yesterday but my foot is still tender and did not want to push it; changed my mind. Then I forgot about it until it was too late to get there. Geez. Not sure what today is going to be like beyond cloudy.

Nothing exciting on this end of town, hope all is quiet where you are. Are you finally getting some breathing room Gloria? And that you are on a part time track Gwenn, after all, those books want someone to play with.

Have a good one, stay dry!

Hi All! That was some much needed rain wasn't it? Was it windy where you all live? I guess it was windy here but I didn't notice. Had a mini cotton candy blizzard at DQ today. I MUST remember to check nutritional values before I eat these things! 600 calories and 17 grams of fat....so glad I only ate about half!

Bonnyyyyyyy! Toniiiiiiii! We know you are out there somewhere! Toni, hope the poison ivy has eased off. That has to be so uncomfortable.

I don't know about drivers recently Kelly, I like to go at or just slightly above the speed limit but usually people are flying past me at about 80 or more, even in the construction zones, drives me crazy. But today everyone was going about 40 or 45 and driving me insane.

Yes, the popups and all of the adware is a hassle and I am willing to deal with the ads on this site because it is free and they have to raise money to run this site somehow, but if my PC continues to be attacked by malware and such, I am just not going to be able to be on here anymore and that makes me so sad, I have so many SparkFriends that I would miss. Anyway, these don't seem like just popups, it is like they are hijacking my PC and it only seems related to this site so I am just not sure what to think. I've had to scan and remove malicious and suspicious stuff twice now.

Kelly, how is your toe? That had to hurt!

Gwenn, thanks for all of the excellent info. I am worried because Lemur has always eaten only one kind of cat food and that is Royal Canan. He eats nothing else and refuses to touch canned food. The other cats eat Hill's Science Diet, he hates it. Lately he has been getting Deli Cat because we were desperate for him to eat and he would barely touch that. Now he has his appetite back and I am going to tell my husband to just give him the Royal Canan because I think he could start eating too much. We went with this insulin because it has a reputation for getting the cat stable the fastest and maybe without having to do two injections a day....we will see. We started at 1.5 CCs (or whatever the dosage is) and we hope that we don't have to go to 2 CCs because then we will have to do it twice a day and that is just going to be really difficult with our work schedules.

That's just crazy expensive, must not be generic at that price. Lot of great info Gwenn.

I'm having trouble this morning with the poopups in particular this team. They keep this up they are going to chase us all off. Enough already

That would be great to get together. Not the last week of this month though.

What is it with the accidents the past few days? Is all this sunshine frying folks brains?

Nothing exciting around here. Loving this weather, although not out walking as much since I busted my toe over the weekend.

Hey Bonnie and Toni!!! Where are you???

Wow!! That is expensive! I am also not a fan of Walmart but I had to do it. I would say a bottle lasts us about 5 months. I give the first dose usually around 6:30 am and then the second one is around 5 but he has waited until 5:30-6:30 and he is fine. So he actually gets his earlier than 12 hours apart, but not sure if he would make it past 12. He tends to scarf his food down more and then throw it up.

He gets prescription dry food (Hills m/d). My vet called in a prescription to Petsmart and it isa tad cheaper, if you ever have to use it. I have done a lot of reading about using canned food to lower sugar, and it does work, but he kept getting mouth sores, so I limit it. I only give him half a can of wet when he is in the upper 200's but definitely higher. Anyway, we have had a long journey with diabetes and learned a lot. We do our own testing now with a pet monitor so we know how much insulin to give him. It is kind of like having a special needs member of your family. Stressful at first and then it just becomes second nature.

I haven't seen anything strange from Sparkpeople on my computer and nothing has happened to my account. A few times I will get a pop up ad but I close it.

Hey, has anyone else here been having trouble with SP? I had some issues with my profile a couple of weeks ago and now I keep getting adware and spyware on my laptop and I suspect it is coming from here. I hope not because if it is, I will have to stop getting on here.

Thanks for the tips on the syringes and stuff Gwenn. The type of insulin he is taking is so expensive. It was almost $400. We will check the price for it at Walmart. I am not a Walmart fan but we hope that the bottle lasts a long time since he gets a small dose. Do you have to give Toby the shots exactly 12 hours apart? Our problem is definitely going to be our schedules. Right now we are trying to do it once a day but if we can't get him stabilized on that he will have to have twice a day and I am just not sure how that is going to work.

Pretty gorgeous out today but I was stuck in the office all day. I left work late, was stuck in traffic and got home in time to do a fast walk around the neighborhood before it got dark.

Would love to meet you all out to eat sometime, that would be a blast!

Oh no! I am sorry to hear that. My cat Toby has diabetes and was diagnosed 4 years ago. We give him shots twice a day, along with testing him. Always fun. I get my syringes from Walmart. They are about $12 a box of 100. I also get his insulin there too, but it may depend on what type. Cash price is 24.88. I priced out the name brands and they are about $120 without insurance. Humulin N is what he gets but it may depend on what they want you to use. They used to require a prescription, but now they don't (Walmart).

Ah, I don't think I ever compared the two bars before. I know they have some bigger protein ones and then some thinner bars that have fiber in them.

Library and then Walmart today. Tomorrow is the library and then Dollar Tree, which is one I have never been to before. I am ready for the weekend! Beautiful day today! I hope to head for a walk later.

Took Lemur back to the vet, he has diabetes so we have to give him insulin shots. Yikes. I bought a couple of the Think Thin bars Gwenn, they are bigger and more calories than the Kroger brand. I haven't tried one yet. Kelly, love it that you son will be able to come and visit for the Wounded Warrior project, that is so awesome. We've never been to McNamara's but we should try it...so many good places to eat around our fair city!

Morning all! Looks like a break in the temps again.

Hope everyone had a great week-end.

Quiet week-end on this end. Our son had a meeting on Monday so came in Sunday late afternoon, we had dinner and great music at McNamara's. Wounded Warrior has an office here so he will be here often.

Wow Gwenn, that really is more like a full time job and I am sure you were missed at your volunteer spots. I'm still blown away at what is involved.

Guess that is why I couldn't find Simple Truth anywhere, it is Krogers. Will look for it next time I am in there.

Hellllloooooo Toni!!!! Miss you....

Oh and Bonnie, you need to share your news.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you. Hope you have a great day!

Yeah, this card job is no joke! I worked 34 hours this week....I guess it's less than 40 but geez. Not my idea of PT. This week will be probably more than 20 I'm sure. Have to change everything out to Father's Day and I have three stores, so trying to work out when I can meet up with the lady training me, and then go a few times on my own because you are scheduled so many visits per store.

I have had a peanut butter one from Think Thin, which was good. They a white chocolate cinnamon bun one that my husband likes. I tried the Simple Truth one once, but whatever I had seemed really gritty to me. Simple Truth is the Kroger brand.

Happy Mother's Day. And you don't have to have given birth, I'd be willing to bet that there are many who look up to any of you as mentors and roll models.

Wow Gwenn, here I always thought all that those card folks had to do was put them in the bottom drawer and tidy up maybe, and of course have a smile. That's some part time job you got there, hope it settles for you this week, the view is much better out of the trenches. You need to drink that water, other than what Gloria suggested about a timer I have no ideas.

Chocolate chili, sounds really good I haven't tried that one. Is the think thin line new, haven't seen that one. Come to think of it, haven't seen the simple truth line either. And anything peanut butter works for me. Does the really dark chocolate upset your tummy too Gloria?

How's kitty doing Gloria? Did you get some nap time in yesterday? I hope this week is easier for you at work. It's hard to be inside with all this great weather, even with that danged pollen and humidity. As I was pulling out yesterday, noticed the azaleas have spent themselves already.

Wednesday was a mystery lunch trip with the senior center, unknown destination until you get there in the van. Headed down Lebanon Pike, well we aren't going to Hermitage, no not Mt. Juliet oh good there are nice places in Lebanon. Hmmm, we just turned onto 109, Gallatin here we come! Maybe that chocolate place? No we would have gone the other way. Ended up at Swaney's Sweets in downtown. What a fun place and I have never been to downtown, really nice job they have done there.

Had dinner at Cock of the Walk last night with a group. Never been there, interesting place.

Kid won't be in until 6 tonight, quick overnight visit. He now works for The Wounded Warrior Project and did not know they have an office here, so he likely will be here a few times. He is stopping here on his way to DC, nice detour if you ask me. Of course I'll be down there in a couple of weeks anyway for their son's high school graduation. Geez, where does the time go?

Not sure if Bonny is back yet, hope she stops by.

How is everything in your little corner of town Toni? You've been too quiet as well!

Enjoy the VitaD and if you are lucky enough, pool time. Don't forget to do something great for yourselves today.

Hope that your work day was short Gwenn and I hope your headache is better. I wonder if there is anyway to set a timer or something to go off every 20 minutes or so to remind you to sip your water.

Sure is toasty warm today. Our irises are about done and I need to go out and trim the stems back. Haven't been out back to see about the peonies. I had my fun time this morning, I ran with some friends and then went with one of them for coffee and then to Academy and Dick's to look at running stuff. I didn't get enough sleep last night and I would like to take a nap but I need to work on laundry and getting the house picked up.

Gwenn, I can only have little bits of chocolate because it hurts my stomach but I will look for other flavors of those things, and chili almond Kind, that sounds fascinating.

I love the chocolate almond brownie flavor! And I like the chili almond Kind bar.

Well, it's going. Yesterday wasn't bad and I was there almost 4 hours by myself. Today I was there at 7 and got done by 9, but then had to drive to Smyrna, and spent almost 8 hours there. It was fun though - basically redid the card dept at a CVS. My problem was that I had a headache alot of the day. It's really difficult for me to get enough water intake and I need to figure out a strategy. I do bring my water bottle with me, but I just get so involved with working that I don't think about it until I'm sweating and just so thirsty. I think that's part of the reason why I get the headaches and had one today. I go in tomorrow and Sunday for hopefully an hour really early.

My kitty has an infection so he got an antibiotic. I think he will survive! BUT, they did find some sugar in his urine so he has to go back next week to be retested because the sugar could be from the infection or it could be that he is diabetic. Went to the strength training class today...skipped the stairs because I want to be able to walk this weekend, just did the treadmill instead. Don't know what is in store for this weekend, I would like to say POOL TIME, but I don't know, I need to work for a few hours and I need to do a lot of housecleaning. Gwenn, how is the job going?

Gwenn, I am going to look for those next time I go to Kroger. Right now I eat the Simple Truth Peanut Butter Protein Extreme bars that I get from Kroger in the same section. Today I stuck a Kind bar in my husband's lunch bag. He ended up not going to work but I will leave it in there for Monday. I hope he likes it. Normally he only eats junk food (like Chips Ahoy or Oreos) but I hope that he likes the Kind bar.

Oh no! I hope Lemur will be ok!! And man, stinks about your lunch :(

Think Thin bars are just a protein bar, but they are super yummy and highly nutritious. I find them in the natural food section of Kroger with the other protein bars like Luna and Kind. I actually need to run to the store to get some more before my weekend work. That is the only way I can figure out how to at least get something healthy in my system when I may be working over lunch.

One of the cats was sick this morning and in my panic I forgot my lunch bag! Talk about major freak out! My husband stayed home and took Lemur to the vet. They are keeping him for the day. They think he might have a bacterial infection but he doesn't have a fever so I don't know. I hope it isn't anything serious. My cats are all older - this one is 14, he is the youngest of the brood.

Gwenn, what is a Think Thin bar? I take food with me. Because of my esophagus issues I have to eat every three hours (small meals), you should see the huge lunch back that carry! I takes me forever to prepare all that food. I cook stuff up in advance and haul it along with me. Sometimes I just have yogurt or cottage cheese, sometimes salads. Last night I made a big egg white omelet with veggies and chicken and I had it for breakfast today. My favorite meal these days is something that I copied from First Watch - quinoa with roasted turkey (I just get turkey breast and throw it in the crock pot and then freeze it so I always have some on hand), feta, dried cherries and slivered almonds. YUMMY! Another thing I fix a lot I copied from Panera - an egg white turkey bowl. I have egg whites with turkey, pesto and roasted red peppers in a bed of spinach - it's my breakfast salad! Sometimes I have steel cut oats with some coconut milk and cinnamon, cardamon and ginger. Today I also had a spinach salad with roasted chicken breast, tomatoes, cucumbers, no salad dressing but I did have two tablespoons of hummus on that. My old team was used to me eating/working constantly, like pretty much I am eating all of the time, but the new team doesn't seem to have caught on yet. They will come to me for something and say, "Oh, I will let you eat and then come back." That is so nice of them but really, I am eating all of the time and I can't take breaks so I have to eat and work!

Oh Gloria! You should bring some kind of bar like Think Thin, that has good protein and at least you can eat and work at the same time. I have had to bring a bar with me- I get such a headache if I can't eat. I'm glad you were able to get out for a bit the other day!

Yah, I definitely had some issues with SP this past week and I don't know if everything is right or not. I guess that the thing where my blog was part of all of that mess. Who knows but I am glad it is working again. Enjoy your visit with your son Kelly! And tell Bonny that just because she practically lives in Florida doesn't mean she can't visit us here!

Gwen, just hang in there. I suspect in a few weeks this will all be easy peasy for you. I am sure part of the whole thing now is it being the holiday and of course Mother's Day is probably a huge money maker for card sales. You will get through this week and you will be good to go!

Toni, that's terrible about the poison ivy. I've never been sensitive to it (but I guess that could change) but I know it must itch like crazy. Hope that it clears up quickly. I was talking to a friend the other day who has a bad case of it too. Must be a bad year for it or something.

Well, it is Wednesday and I have almost enough hours in at work that I could skip the next two days, but of course that isn't going to happen. Today was supposed to be my long/hard day but actually it was better than the past two days. No lunch Monday and no lunch yesterday but finally late yesterday afternoon I told them I was going to work out and I would be back in about an hour. I HAD to get away from there for a while. Last few months the fourth business day thing has been until 10:00 p.m. or even 1:00 a.m. one time (I think last month we were there until 11:00, then I had to drive all the way home). But today we got done relatively early and I was so glad! Things aren't going to calm down for me yet but maybe by the end of May, if I am lucky, I can get into a more normal work schedule.

Oh no Toni! I am now highly allergic to poison ivy. I wasn't when I was younger. I do the same thing- puff up and have to have steroids. I remember once I got it from a cat that went outside. It was all over my arms and they doubled in size! I had to re-interview for my own job and I was just a puffy gross mess. They let me leave to go to the doctor and do my interview another day! lol Anyway, I love your new profile pic!

So the job is going....Monday I was very overwhelmed, which I figured would happen. Tuesday was a tad better and about 2 hours shorter. I had done some online training and I have done about 3 more hours online after I got home, which should hold me for a bit. Tomorrow morning I go in all by myself, which is crazy! I have to go every day starting tomorrow, through Sunday, for Mother's Day. Then back in on Monday to take it all down and start Father's Day. The lady training me is very nice, but sometimes there is just so much going back and forth between instruction that it is hard to follow. Friday I'm going to a store in another area to help with a revision. I'm only going to learn and meet the other ladies, but I have to go to my store first super early! They tell me that if I can get through these two weeks that I will be ok. The store is VERY messed up because they haven't had anyone servicing, except on occasion, so not only am I learning, but I'm playing catch up, which is difficult. I have two other stores which I haven't even gone to and they think I may go to one next week. There was an inventory at another store but they had someone else cover it thank goodness! It's quite alot for only being PT and I had to miss 2 volunteer things, which I was trying not to do, but I'm hoping this will all level out soon. Part of me is not surprised but part of me is like wow. I'm hanging in there. I had to buy some more casual type pants to wear because all I have is professional dress. And I got a printer, even though they said I shouldn't really need it. I think corporate is supposed to send me things in the mail. But it was free with points so that's ok! I didn't pay anything!

Hope you enjoy your son's visit! If you don't see me for a few days, I'm in the trenches ;)

Gwenn

Oh no Toni!!! That's interesting about prevention treatments, a lot of chatter about folks around here with the same problem. I don't know if it works on ivy but I used to get hives big time and I had to eat some raw potato - worked and I eventually grew to like it. What's that song, one eyed purple people eater. Sorry couldn't resist.

I know, Bonny just takes off I don't even think she even came by this time to say hi to us. Be that way emoticon I wonder if she is getting close to instead of considering; moving down there full time?

Just loving this weather! Should be inside doing more than a lick and a promise cleaning wise since the son will be here for an overnight on his way to DC. (Nice detour out of Florida) He has changed jobs and is now working for The Wounded Warrior Project.

Yoo-hoo! What FINE weather! Looks like another one today. I am so grateful for this beautiful Earth!

Except, I have poison ivy. It came in on the Cat and so now I am on Steroids. It was on my Eye Lid and my eye was puffed and about to close, so, got a shot and now pills. Next year I will get the homeopathic prevention treatments for sure! It's basic the plant in liquid form - I'll take it once a week for three weeks at the beginning of Spring and then Monthly through the first freeze. That should make me much less allergic. It's always something!

Gwenn how's the job?

Gloria, It must feel really great to have accomplished your running goal - I know you will keep fine tuning and such, but if anyone had told you four years ago that you would be doing the things you are doing now....you wouldn't have believed them. I am so happy for you!

Kelly - I trust all is going well in your world?

Facebook tells me that our Bonnie is back in Florida.
