So sorry to hear about your friend's mom. So scary how people can just freak out and shoot.

Well, Toby doesn't have an infection and definitely the beginning of renal failure. They suggested food as the only way to really maintain it, so I've placed my order for it with the vet's office. The diet plan for renal failure is low protein. The diet plan for diabetes is high protein. So....we will go to the renal one and hope to maintain diabetes with the insulin. This may mean testing every day again for a bit when he starts this food. We do plan on doing an ultrasound to make sure there isn't a tumor or any stones, but we are waiting to hear what that schedule is. Apparently a specialist can come to the vet's office and it is cheaper than us going to the specialist. It's already $455 at the vet's office!

Oh my, all the best healing vibes to his Mom, good sign she is home though. Sad indeed.

Swimming churns up the water breaks up the chilled water. Hope you get a few more hours in.

Have a good week, quiet one around here for me. Almost too quiet, granddaughter's volleyball games are here at McGavock tomorrow - that is pretty much it for me.

Oh, if you two have co workers or friends that suffer through Holiday traffic around Opryland (including several miles away on side roads), there is a forum on traffic etc Wednesday night at the Troubadour theater on Music Valley Drive from 7 - 9p.

What a sad day yesterday with the church shootings. Horrible. A guy I know from running (he is in a few of my race pictures), his mom was one of the people shot. Last I heard she was able to go home last night.

I got in the pool yesterday, neighbors still not out in their pool, so nice and quiet! I actually swam around a little instead of just sitting around reading in the shallow end.

Now back to the grind. Ugh!

Well of course I got in the pool yesterday! emoticon emoticon

I got in early, stayed a while. Neighbors weren't out so it was quiet. I will do that again today. This might be the last day because as cool as it is going to get at night, I might not want to spend the money to heat the thing up anymore.

Yeah, they do need to sync up some of the traffic lights and Conference is a good example of that.

It's another hot and humid day. I think by Thursday we should see some relief.

We went to a place in Hendersonville called Avanti Gourmet for breakfast. We go there pretty often for breakfast. It's good but kind of slow. I like it more than hubby. Anyway, they messed up my omelet this morning and gave me eggs instead of egg whites. I didn't care but they brought me another one that was correct so I had two omelets and hash browns. Obviously I have a lot of leftovers so breakfast should be easy this week!

I thought of you Friday afternoon as I headed towards the son's. Stopped at the Honda place, pulled around the backside to get back on G'tin Pike. Figured I'd take Vets on up...the line waiting to turn onto Conference Drive was backed up all that way!!! I just did the red light tour through Hendersonville. Sent a message to Public Works again about resetting that light, recognizing that the fools who continue through yellow and red lights are a big problem as are turns against the light. So I suggested again they consider not allowing those turns anywhere during peak times. (I'd prefer anytime, except in the middle of the night and it is spooky out)
They laugh and laugh and toss it I'm sure.

It got muggy yesterday afternoon for sure, how come you weren't in the pool? I doubt you will ever smell like a goat herder. I've seen goats faint but never sweat.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone!

The menu for the Indian place looks good! Yeah, the commute home yesterday was busy, expected on a Friday afternoon but honestly not as bad as it has been lately. Not liking that at all, was glad yesterday was better.

This weather is sure toasty, looks like it will last through the week. Not much going on here otherwise. I am sitting out on the patio, probably smell like a goat herder since I am sweating so much, haha!

Sorry Gloria, no way to start Friday or Autumn ... downright crazy drivers. Here's to a smooth ride home tonight.

Here is the link to the new Indian place on Donelson. Will likely head over there next week, they still aren't open for lunch.

I had continuing education yesterday and didn't leave Nashville until just after 6:00 p.m. And guess what, traffic was a NIGHTMARE! What the heck! I wasn't expecting it that late - but there were two wrecks. It took forever to get home, basically spend 2.5 hours on the road yesterday. What a time waster. And I was so tired that I didn't get up on time today, so left late and guess what, two wrecks, AGAIN! Can you tell I am frustrated?

Continuing education was the the new Westin downtown, wish I had gotten up and wandered around a bit to check the place out but what I did see of it seemed nice.

At least it's Friday! Yay for that.

Yikes, that is a longgggg commute! I have said that the speed limit on both 65 around and at Vet's is too high.

How cute what our kitties do. Vibes going to Earl, it isn't easy.

Not much today, bit humid this morning. Then I heard it was 96 near St. Louis yesterday so I shall shut my mouth.

Funny Gwenn, I was at the park at lunch time on Tuesday! I just walked the mile loop once, it was really too hot and I didn't change into shorts before I left.

I love it that Toby carries his toy around, that sounds so cute! Lemur has a fish that he lays on.

So Earl ate for a couple of days but back to not eating again. He basically is in renal failure and has lymphoma so I don't know what else we can do to help him. We didn't think he would make it through August and yet he is still here and hanging in there. Because of the lymphoma I am very attentive to his breathing because he probably has fluid on his lungs.

I can't say too much about the management change but I am not happy about it at all. Allen was probably the best manager I have ever had. We ended up going to Taziki's for lunch. So much yumminess in that! I had the stuffed grape leaves, LOVE those things!

It took me an hour and 15 minutes to get to work this morning...keep in mind, I leave at 5:30 a.m. so I don't expect traffic like that...several wrecks this morning.

I was thinking the first time I went to that, I had to pick up a Honey Baked, that was at the time the closest one. I walked over from there first, they would have to be giving out free desserts and $$$ for me to do that now when it's this warm. emoticon I'm going to say you are right on the parking, I don't remember where we parked next time 'cause I wasn't driving.

Funny how even cats like to carry their stuff around isn't it? At least he is eating.

I saw some set up for the craft fair yesterday when I was over there for lunch. I always say I'm going to go and never do. Again, it's on my list for the weekend, but then I'm never in the mood for crowds. Plus, I'm sure parking is annoying, so not sure I will go either.

Glad Earl is eating better. I didn't get home until late but it was reported that Toby ate most of his food and he seems to have eaten about half today. I can never tell with him because he is usually a lazy bum but he was carrying around his toy today.

Small world. That used to be Donelson Hospital before Summit was built.

Good to hear Earl is chowing down.

I know, it's hard when a coworker moves on, hopefully the newbie picks up the reins.

Gwenn how's your fourlegger doing?

That craft fair is huge, even on Friday during the day. Haven't been over there in years, think it won't be this year either.

Wow those storms that blew through here yesterday were quite a surprise, although we didn't get it like those to the east got it. Looks like it'll be a half way decent day today.

Have a good one!

Yeah, husband worked for Emdeon out in Donelson, I think in the old HCA building out there on Lebanon Pike. They have had a lot of name changes!

Earl ate cat food yesterday morning, last night and this morning. He is a fussy eater but I figure not feeling well too. He is very clingy, likes to be picked up and carried around, sit in my lap. He has always been that way with me, he's very spoiled.

Team lunch today, no idea where we are going. We are taking our old manager. He's not leaving the company but leaving us and I just hate that.

Oh, the craft fair is in Centennial Park this weekend. I don't think I will be going but it is usually a nice one.

Humdinger's is in Brentwood, three locations, two in Memphis and one here. It's grilled chicken and fish. I LOVE it. But obviously I don't go there too often...Brentwood is too far.

Oh my, looks like vet visits are eminent for both of you! Hugs I can not imagine how you both are feeling. I'm smiling that Earl is doing "well". I started Molly on tuna at night, John started giving her canned cat at night - could not stand opening up those things so I started her on albacore, and got 2 or 3 days out of it and she just loved that. I knew she would because she was always in our face if we had tuna or salmon. Food Lion's brand of albacore isn't bad and it worked for her. Wasn't impressed with Aldi, neither was she so it had to be bad.

Sounds like a busy day Gwenn! You will be fine during your tenure, they would not have offered it if they didn't have confidence in you. Besides, it's not permanent and winter is coming so if you're going to be indoors might as well be adding to bank account.

Small world, did he work out of the Donelson building? My neighbor Matt Tollerson works for Emedon and I think he's in IT - something with computers. That company has changed names so many times, and I understand his frustration with them. Smart move to go back. Hubby did that back in the late 90's, he was assigned to a nuke in NOLA and as that job was ending, this opportunity came up which gave him (and other folks) a move back home. So he took it since they agreed to his terms. Long and short of it, as a government project and lack of funding he saw the writing on the wall so when his company that he had been with since the 70's offered him a new build in TX he grabbed it. They kept his tenure etc in tact too.

I am very surpirsed you all don't have a Taziki's. I've never heard of Humdingers, like the name though, what kind of chow? I think if we really thought hard enough of anywhere we go, we'd be homebound forever. Maybe that's why I like mom and pops better.

Yikes, one big accident less than tenth of a mile away from our 'hood, now one at our entrance. It is going to be a long commute for folks, glad I don't have to be anywhere.

Continue to take care of yourself and both of you have great days!

Gwenn, definitely get Toby in to get checked, if he is peeing a lot and drinking more he could be having glucose issues. Lemur is acting weird too, throwing up and he pooped in a couple of weird spots or he might have a UTI so I need to hurry and get him to the vet. Earl went to the vet last week and they said he was doing very well. He had gained a bit of weight and they said he didn't have to come back for a month (instead of his weekly visits). Then of course he didn't eat hardly at all for almost a week. He will eat tuna though, little brat. This morning he voraciously ate his canned Fancy Feast, like he was starving. I am watching him closely because he probably has lymphoma and he might have fluid on his lungs because of that. I want to make sure he is breathing okay and not struggling or suffering. He seems very happy as always.

Kelly, yep, husband has been with HCA for over 15 years with the exception of a few months about seven years ago when he went to work for Emdeon. Grass isn't always greener and he was back to HCA in a hurry and since he was gone for such a short time he kept his tenure and benefits. He's in IT.

No running and I've added a couple of pounds, oops, more veggies for me today, haha!

Kelly YES, I've been getting the Piedmont bill way too late and then no time to get it sent or whatever by the due date...sometimes it is just a couple of days from the time of receipt to the due date. I am with SunTrust so I have them set up in my online banking and as soon as I get the bill I go out and put the amount in and it pays within a couple of days - it's not immediate though because I am not on auto pay.

Lot's of new fun stuff coming to your area too Kelly - I am so excited about Zoe's, keeping my fingers crossed that hubby will like it. I think they open next Monday. We need more healthy stuff in Hendersonville. A Taziki's or a Humdinger's would be amazing.

I am reading Fast Food Nation, yikes, makes me not want to eat out at all.

Hope you are feeling better today Gloria!

Last time to see my boss today. Was going to work tomorrow but couldn't get a meeting rescheduled and figured it would mess everyone up anyway, so doing my normal. Tonight we have a sales reception so a late night.

How is Earl? I need to take Toby in because his pees in his litter box are HUGE. Even more than they normally were and he's drinking a lot and doesn't really want to eat his food. I think maybe he doesn't like the food, so might have to go back to the prescription. We quit that because he kept throwing it up. Need to make sure he's not going into kidney failure or something. He's been laying around a lot and in strange places, so something tells me he doesn't feel good. I know it is inevitable but I don't want to think about it.

Have a good day everyone!

Editing at the top: Gloria!!! Luved your blog!

I didn't know (likely remember) your hubs worked for HCA, overload for sure. I have a friend who works for them and did the overnights instead of her usual day shift (volunteered to: enjoyed the shift differential) Our daughter in law worked for them when they lived in FL so she got to come home for a quick visit with her mom and dad fairly often. I thought he pitched in, hadn't heard you say otherwise, guess I was just in a melancholy mood yesterday.

All in all you had a busy weekend and got a lot done. Her exhibit will be there for awhile, I'll look it up. I guess what was going on next to it was a doggie event, almost felt like kicking myself for not going over Sat, it is always a lot of fun. I'm going to check Piedmont gas to see if they changed over to non auto pay electronic. By the time they get their bill out and it arrives in the mail there is barely enough time to get it back to them on time because they take forever to process it! They wonder why folks don't like them.

Hope you found some fun too Gwenn.
The menu for this place looks interesting, just took a quick glance didn't look to see if they have anything Americanized for those who want otherwise (my hubby would be one of those too) I'll see if I can find the post with the menu or their website.

We have another place opening up that is coffee shop, cantina sort of theme. They have dropped a boat load of $$$$$$$ into a reno of a house, added on to it even. Said they are going to have a kids area too. Parking is going to be a bear and at night parking at the homes that are now businesses wouldn't be a problem but you know how folks are they don't care if someone's clients are inconvenienced. I would say the owners appear to want to be proactive on that issue.

I love Indian food, husband won't touch it though. Yeah, he helps A LOT! He does the dishes every night, does his own laundry, takes care of the pool and the litter boxes. He also will do cleaning, real cleaning, but he is pretty busy himself, works a lot (worked most of the previous weekend due to Irma - HCA has a lot of facilities in Florida, and he will work all of next weekend for upgrades), then Saturday he went to Paducah to see the kid and was gone all day. He also has a lot of hobbies so as busy as we are, the chores tend to go down the tubes in a hurry.

I did get in the pool for a couple of hours yesterday but it was late in the afternoon and the sun was going down...I was not warm enough. I should have left the pool heater on. Also got the groceries and did a load of laundry, started going through bills (I do electronic but I initiate it, won't let them just take $$$ out of my account). Didn't get that done but I will finish that up tonight.

I heard about the 12S thing, everything sounds so fun and I want to do All The Stuff but then when it comes down to it, I am too busy and too tired and it just doesn't work out! Would have been fun to go the Parthenon to see Camille's work but same thing, I probably wouldn't have been able to get down here on a weekend day. Wonder if it is still there this week? I COULD go during lunch!

I thought I mentioned that I got an invite to it, sorry about that - really.

No it was at The Parthenon, through the front entrance and up the stairs. There is or was something going on Friday on the grounds but didn't feel like exploring (more like lazy, not walking over or finding a another parking space).

Interesting, didn't hear or remember hearing about closing 12South. Yikes, I'm glad I hadn't planned on being in that mess. Here I thought I was the only one who really does not want to be bothered with events like that, much fun as they sound like.

Any of you interested in Indian (country not native) foods, Donelson has a new little place that opened up on Donelson Pike for dinner. Interesting menu, haven't gone over but reviews are positive.

Wow, Gloria! I hope you are able to train and be ready for your marathon. I know that is worrisome but try not to stress out too much.

Today is supposed to be the day 12 South is closed to cars and people walk/bike/run. I was thinking of going but honestly don't want to deal with the crowds.

I didn't know Camille had an art show at the Parthenon! That's cool! Do you mean that building off to the side of the Parthenon?

Have a good day everyone!

Keep telling yourself, the house can wait I am more important...if you say it enough hopefully you will begin to be comfortable about it. No, I am far from being a neatie so I don't fully understand. And I also expected hubs to take care of himself in times like this, a bonus would be he would pitch in around the house. Yes it wasn't always the way I did it but he was doing it. Laughing because many years ago he did not like the way I did his laundry, so from then on - if he wanted clean clothes he did it himself.

Take some much needed pool time Gloria!!! Take it easy so you can rock the October whenever it is race...

Nothing exciting for today around here.

OH I forgot to mention that I went to Camille's art exhibit opening at the Parthenon Friday, she wasn't there! I even looked in the kitchen to see if she was plating snax.

Another warm day I think. I have a ton to do today but will try to get in a walk and I would LOVE some pool time. I've neglected a lot around the house for the past couple of weeks due to work and then the fall, I really have to get things in order. It's getting stressful thinking about it.

If you overdo it Missy you will not be on the course Oct 22nd! Plain and simple. It isn't easy to be sidelined but sometimes it can't be helped.

Daughter got power last night! I am shocked since they live in Podunk that they were restored so quickly. (Grateful too. The grandkid who is addicted to electronics was way beyond help most of the time. Yes, that should be changed but I have to keep my mouth shut because they don't listen)

The test has been rescheduled for next week. She will be fine if she would just stop fretting over it. Sometimes the more time you have to think about it the more it affects your thought process.

Hi Gwenn!
Nice day today, temps are supposed to stay about the same this week. Everyone enjoy their Sunday.

Ha! No, I do get carsick from my husband's driving! Not when we travel but when we ride home from work...happens almost every time. For years and years we rode to work together and then when we moved to Hendersonville we continued that for quite some time. I remember pretty much every day sitting in traffic and being sick.

Hope your daughter's power is on, but glad that their building in town has it, that is so nice they are letting people use it. How does she feel her exam went?

So doctor said no running until NEXT Saturday! You know I am in a tizzy over here. Good grief, the insanity! AND he said only a short run next week...uh, doctor, you realize I have a marathon on OCTOBER 22ND? Well, anyway, I went to the Hendersonville Half this morning and cheered my friends in at the finish line, went over to the Farmer's Market but forgot my checkbook and didn't have cash, so much for that. Went to Fleet Feet and bought some socks, needed some retail therapy since I can't run, and then hung out in the pool for a while. It's a good pool day!

Hope you all are having a nice Saturday. We had a deer in the yard this morning so that started the day out nicely!

I say you likely need both a chiro check and some pampering massage to go with pooltime Gloria. And your nausea is likely to your head trauma. Might want to lay low this weekend, hard as that is for you.

Daughter is still without power however their building in town has it, they opened their shop for free wifi, phone calls and device charging. Figured that block for sure would be restored first since "City Hall" is right across the street. I'm chuckling because if you blink you would miss their city hall, yup love country life until disaster strikes. Wish her luck she is supposed to take her insurance licensing exam today so she can officially be employed full time - without a commute!!!

Brother in law in Florida that had his back surgery cancelled last Friday is having his surgery this morning. They got a call yesterday morn with the reschedule, not a lot of notice and she is a bit ticked about it. Then again she is ticked that they don't have a landline and internet, hey you got power and air get over it. Just kidding, she is the nervous type to begin with and let's face it, his back is so messed up I'd be scared beyond imagine too and over reacting. I hope it works poor man worked so hard all his life, retirement should be enjoyed.

Sunshine on its way again today, really nice yesterday. Everyone have a good one.

Yeah, my husband likes to drive to and from work like a maniac and I am not sure why because he doesn't do that when we are traveling or just driving from place to place otherwise. Anyway, I was okay with the ride in to work yesterday, the ride home was a little more nerve racking and I actually felt a little sick, which of course I didn't know if that is because of my head issues or because I was carsick, hahaha. I actually think I need a chiro, my whole left side is out of wack and I need to get adjusted or a massage or something.

I'm hoping for the pool this weekend! Hot weather!

WOW Gwenn your Mom should be happy dancin' that he thought to find a place that would send a message AND thnking that place for stepping up and doing it. Anyway, good news on the Grandpa front. May things get back to normal soon for him and that all it is is he's powerless.

Your workload never seems to diminish Gloria. Riding in might be adding to your frustrations this morn too, ya think? I used to have to remind hubs that he wasn't on the Indy speedway, even with his muscle car. One advantage to riding in, you have to leave when you are supposed to Miss Miracle Worker.

Well guess the sun is supposed to make an appearance this afternoon, bringing humidity with her and warm temps tomorrow. Hard to believe it is Friday eve already.

Have a good one...

Gwenn, glad to hear your grandpa got work to you all, regardless of how he did it, at least you know he's safe!

Supposed to warm up in the next few days but still drizzly this morning. I rode with DH today. I am already tired and being inundated at the office...lots of stuff due tomorrow so I am behind. SOX testing due next week. An implementation that will require testing this week. Plenty of requests that need research and what about my day to day stuff?

Quick update. My mom had a message from my grandpa to tell her he was ok. He must have gone to a store or someplace. Someone got on the phone and said that he didn't have power. She was really nitpicking on her voicemail to me about why there was some stranger calling and I'm thinking to myself, at least he had the thought to call. Not sure it matters how he did it! Anyway, just wanted to let you know.

I am shocked the ER did not do a CT, take it easy though.

I know, I was going to go out last night but before the sun was even off the horizon I said to myself, self, we aren't going anywhere unless the house is blowing away. Wish we could send these cool vibes down south though.

Where is this November weather coming from? But I saw the long term forecast, you are right Kelly, hot weather coming up! Mid to upper 80s it appears, for a while. I am wearing a hoodie today. It's so gloomy and damp.

I am at home today, went to the doctor yesterday for an unrelated thing and they were pretty freaked out by the extent of my injuries and sent me over to my PCP who is in the same practice. They are pretty sure I have a mild concussion, sent me for a CT scan, no hematoma or infarction, so I think I'm good, ha! They told me to stay home yesterday and today so I came home yesterday and took a nap and slept well last night. Today I feel quite a bit better, not as fatigued. I'm still resting today but tomorrow it's back to the office. Yay, fun and games, hahaha!

Feels like you need a sweater under that raincoat today it is so bone chilly damp. Wishing for you to get on home early too.

Was wondering too if you heard from your Grandpa

So far things are a wash with weather here. Luckily things didn't get ugly last night. We hosted a community forum on Hermitage last night, it was well attended all things considered. I belong to a community wide neighborhood assn, a few months ago we did it for Donelson it was only fair to do the same for Hermitage. We feel sometimes D'son is the stepchild but most of Hermitage really gets overlooked.

Well, I think I heard that maybe we won't get as much rain as expected? That is good. I wore my raincoat today. I've got a doctor's appointment and will be walking, figured it was cool enough and wet enough to put it to good use.

I would like to go home after my appointment today but I can already tell work is going to be CHAOS.

Have you heard from you grandpa Gwenn?

Sounds like your grandpa was well prepared Gwenn. My friend in Tampa said he felt like they dodged a bullet. He said that it was pretty rough outside but in general, not the worst as everyone was worried about.

I stayed home from work today to rest. I have TWO black eyes. I look ghastly and I've still got a headache. Knee really hurts and so does shoulder. I took Earl to the vet this morning for his weekly appointment and then I came home and napped. I feel like I might need to stay home tomorrow too but I've got a doctor's appointment in Nashville tomorrow (unrelated) and the dentist in the afternoon so I guess I just need to get to work and do what I need to do.

So Earl update, he had a steroid shot last week and they think he is doing a lot better. He actually had gained almost a pound since two weeks ago! In addition to the renal failure he has a mass on his liver and probably lymphoma but some types of lymphoma respond well to steroids. However, it isn't very good for his kidneys so we will see how this goes. At age 18 we can't ask for everything.

I will call him later, or try to! He only has a home phone and often doesn't hear it ring, so we'll see! My mom talked to him yesterday and he was doing ok. The winds were around 60mph when she called. He had cut some limbs down and put up sandbags and was putting his papers in plastic bags.

Glad to hear your family is ok!

Nothing much going on today. Headed to acupuncture shortly and run some errands. Have a good day!

I am sure your bod appreciated the sleep time and will not argue with your taking today off. Ouch on the nonstick bandaid though.

Hunker down in case the wind advisory for tonight comes true.

Meanwhile, hope your Grandpa is okay Gwenn. So far my family from coast to coast is okay, although our daughter likely has power lines down in their yard. Long as they aren't on the cars or blocking their way out they will be okay.

Well, I am actually kind of relieved that you didn't see the Facebook thing, I really don't want my mom to know because she will freak out. If other family members see it they will tell her. My friend who posted the pics must have her settings so that only her friends can see it, though I am not sure because A LOT of my friends posted on her post!

Gwenn, have you heard from your grandpa? Keeping my fingers crossed for him! Hope he got some help to board up the windows and that his far enough away from the water that he is protected from the storm surge. My friend in Tampa said a couple of hours ago that they still had power but things were getting worse.

I slept well last night, rested most of today and napped. I didn't even do my groceries. Now I am afraid we will eat junk (or eat out) all week long. I am going to stay home from work tomorrow and try to get some more rest. I am very sore, especially on my shoulder which is very bruised and scraped, and on my forehead - I've been icing that, and the swelling seems to have gone down. And my knee - that nonstick pad was not very nonstick, the would was all stuck to it this morning and was VERY painful. I did another Epsom salt bath today, that knee STINGS! OUCH!

I had some interest in the Highland Games, as well as Shakespeare in the Park, but didn't make it to either one. We were focused on a 3 day refresh diet thing, which was the pits, but this is our last day. Trying to get back to eating properly, but this is intense. It has a lot of shakes and stuff, so it's keeping you with energy, but not fun.

Anyway, this storm is just crazy. My grandpa is an hour south of Tampa and an hour north of Naples, so I'm quite worried for him. I talked to him Friday afternoon and he said he was staying because in the past when he left, he came back and nothing had happened. This is the first time he has been alone in a storm like this. I think it may have been one of a few times he said the words I love you. He is 92 and I don't even know if he could have driven somewhere else.

I didn't see it either Gloria! Relieved serious as it is, it was not worse. Park yourself poolside and take it easy today. Maybe more ice cream?

My oh My....you likely have the answer right in front of you. You must give yourself permission to take frequent mini breaks and meal breaks. You are a healthy and vibrant 50 year old, I think that has been the saving grace for you until now. Your bod is telling you something, listen to it sooner than later, please.

Well looks like Irma has decided to sightsee elsewhere. Those on the gulf, please be careful. Hard to know where in the heck to go.

Didn't make it in to the Highland Games, late heading over (little after noon) the line of cars to get in was 1/4 mile and barely moving!!! After sitting for a few minutes I decided that by the time I got in, got parked etc I would have maybe 2 hours before heading out again so I reluctantly headed away. It was a great day too! Oh well. Next year there won't be so many distractions so I can head over earlier.

Quiet day, everyone have a good one. Gloria take care please.

Well y'all, if you didn't see the Facebook post that my friend made today, I did another face plant on the sidewalk this morning. I have NEVER fallen on a run and now I've done it twice within a month. Runners take all of this in stride, it happens to all of us. But I am wondering if this is because I am not sleeping well at all...too many work hours, too much commute, sick Earl, too much stress and I can't sleep. Didn't sleep at all last night, and not for lack of trying. I was having an AWESOME run, nine miles in and this happened. One of the pacers called for help and Fleet Feet sent a car over immediately. I thought I would just clean the blood off myself and keep running but blood was everywhere and I realized I had hit my head and it hurt. So I went back to Fleet Feet where my two best running friends were waiting and they took me to the ER and my hubby came. I've got a HUGE bump on most of my forehead and big wounds from where my sunglasses got shoved into my face. My knee that was pretty much almost better is now way worse than it ever was, my hands are scraped up and my shoulder is a train wreck, big wound and bruised all over. ER told me to go home and take an Epsom salt bath and so I did but still felt awful. DH took my for ice cream and then I napped, FINALLY some good quality sleep. Now...when can I run again? Hahahaha

Thanks, I sure as heck hope so too! They are on a small lake so likely will get hit with a double whammy of water and wind. I almost wish they would move to the building they own, although it is quite old it is a sturdy one and right in town. Just looked at the shelter locations and 2 of them are right smack dab within spiting distance of a lake. The county is full of lakes, big and small.

Hopefully the gulf coast doesn't get a lot of storm surge but you never know. So my best wishes for them as well Gloria and Gwenn. We have family there too along with a lot of hubby's classmates live there. Our son's former unit is helping to organize rescue groups for the aftermath. They were based out of Tampa their first deployment. Another group that organized for harvey have now set up a staging and evacuee area on a huge farm in Dublin, GA (generously donated by a family there).

Kind of hard to sit here and enjoy the weather, I am going to get on out and get some fresh air. The Hermitage is hosting the Scottish Highland Games today so will head on over there before heading to a group dinner picnic.

Kelly, I hope your family remains safe during the storm. Scary stuff! Same for anyone in your family, or friends, Gloria.

I have a friend in Clearwater, but I don't hear from her often. I'm sure she'll stick it out. And my grandpa is on the Gulf coast. I'm sure he'll stay where he is, but I know he'll get stormy weather.

Sorry things have been so crazy at work, Gloria. I know that is the life of being in the accounting department. Things are quiet for me for once.

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Oh my it is so very very foggy here this morning!

What amazes me is no one thinks, gee maybe take the back roads? The state should have a better plan and put it in place right away. But it makes sense to do it and they have no sense. I am sad that the family decided to sit it out; they have promised that they would go to a shelter sooner than too late. I'm more scared of the lake flooding and everything is sand there, including the only road out to the main road that can get bogged down quickly.

Brother in law in St. Aug is having back surgery this morning, I know we are all amazed it wasn't rescheduled. Tony is not able to travel too far well as he is doing, it just isn't safe so Mom and Dad wouldn't have left without them anyway.

All we can do is ride is out with them, may they all remain safe.

I hope you can decompress this weekend Gloria, your tiredness shows even on here!!! Said it many times before, you need to figure out how to make yourself take minibreaks and eat, breathe and fresh air. Yes, it is easier said than done. I never quite completely figured it out either.

Well, I might be a healthy vibrant machine but this all does exhaust me! I am so tired and I thought today might be a little better but the stress has already kicked in.

I guess we might see tropical depression Harvey next week. I am already thinking about my Tuesday run as that looks like the rainy day, maybe I can get my run in on Monday instead. A few of my friends left there but some are toughing it out, it looks like it will be pretty bad. Traffic coming out of there is horrific, those that are leaving say it is taking eight hours just to go 260 miles.

I marvel each and every month that you work so danged hard and long and are still standing, good thing you are a healthy vibrant machine Gloria. I'm worn out just thinking about it, random memories pop up for me, grateful it was usually only every quarter. Soooo get through today and pamper yourself on the way home tonight.

Daughter is half way between Daytona Beach and Orlando, son in laws kids are in Lakeland about an hour east of Tampa and in Tampa, right on the coast.. So we'll cross our fingers together for that area too. My brother in law and his daughter (hubby is the cop injured on duty) live in St. Augustine. The Miami coast area is under mandatory. We will see about where daughter is as time goes on. I made them promise that soon as the shelters open that they would go there. I roll my eyes because promises are made to be broken, haha. They are pretty much prepared, although in checking their generator they discovered it might not hold up for an extended period. Those storm surges are more worrisome than anything.

Nothing exciting in this part of town, everyone enjoy the break in the temps!

I am soooo tired! Today will be the worst of the days and then I can settle back into my routine. So what about this weather this morning? High 40s up my way. Kelly, any of your Florida people going to evacuate? Most of my Florida people are either in Orlando, Tampa/St. Pete or the panhandle area, not too many that I can think of on the Atlantic side. It looks like it might go slightly east, which would be good but they are still predicting 20' storm surge for the coast.

Very long day yesterday and traffic was bad both coming and going. Fortunately it was better today. A rock or something hit my windshield on the way to work yesterday and there is a small ding and the start of a small crack so I need to get that fixed ASAP, just another thing to spend my time, haha. Yesterday was almost 10 hours here with NO break at all. I need to stay focused today, and tomorrow will be a VERY long day, fourth business day is the hardest and we also have an unusual all employee meeting tomorrow, MANDATORY.
