Thanks! Not looking so good. So the car is still not really cool but after a while it will kick in and get cooler. It's definitely not fixed. We still haven't paid the guy- I THINK he was going to give us some kind of credit or not pay for the original work if we go with having the condenser replaced, which is basically the whole A/C, which would cost $1400. But he said he might have to go in and redo some of the work he did last time, which would require us to pay more and could be up to $2000. We are considering getting him a new car. We did the whole KBB value and looked at Carvana to see what they might offer and it's just better off to get rid of it and it shouldn't really give a huge monthly payment even with the amount owed. He probably has paid his car off, but he consolidated it with a credit card, so that's kind of annoying. Oh well. So he's researching and going to talk to the mechanic again today. We will probably just pay him for the original work done, which we feel like he didn't give us any choice. He said it was this part and then it didn't fix the problem. Even if he does end up getting his AC fixed, I think he will wait a little bit. We may be doing some test driving this weekend though. I think it's better to get something else because he will dump all this money into the AC and it's not even worth much more than that. Plus if you trade it in, they only deduct $400 from your trade in for mechanical issues. Seems like a no brainer, but it's whatever he wants to do.

Got through Day 2 of Week 5 of C25K. Saturday is our 20 min run! I'm so scared!!

Hope the car thing works out Gwenn. I've had a car with no AC. Most people really have to have it. Me, I don't care, I usually just open the sunroof or Windows. We just got a car for my husband a couple of months ago. That reminds me. I need to go to MARTA. Like tomorrow! Tag expires Thursday! Not sure when I will do that!

Jennywren, I'm sorry to hear about that poor boy's mom. So sad. And congratulations to your parents! My parents celebrated 40 years in April.

Gloria - hope you have a good week!

I'm happy for the rain as it cooled down. Nothing much going on here. My mom is doing PT for her arm. It's healing but her arm is still swelling and it aggravates her carpal tunnel. Not sure what they can do about that. My husband had his car in the shop today for his AC. They replaced a part but we haven't paid for it yet. Basically the guy said the fix should help but he thinks the compressor needs replaced, so we are waiting on a quote. Not sure if we will fix it or not. The car isn't worth that much.

So sad about that boy's mom. My husband is diabetic and he really isn't taking good care of himself. Congrats to your parents, Jennywren, that is pretty awesome! And congrats on your weight, sounds like you are doing awesome!

It's been very busy at work but I'm getting by for now. I worked about six hours yesterday. I'm sure I'll end up putting hours in next weekend too.

morning! you know it's summer in the south when you hear the mowers going before 6:30 am (baseball/soccer field).

Hope everyone is having a good day! really excited about being 1.2 lbs away from 30 pounds gone!

This weekend we went to a memorial service for the mom of a boy my daughters go to school with (he's a senior this year). So heartbreaking. She passed suddenly while walking home from work, no autopsy because it wasn't a homicide and she's over 50. They did say that no one (not even her sons) knew she was diabetic until a week after she passed! Please please take care of yourselves if you are diabetic! Let people know! :(

We went from that to my parents in Brentwood to celebrate their 50th anniversary! they didn't want a party or anything, so we just ordered some food and hung out. it was really nice. I tried some Pot De Creme, it was ok, but aggravated my allergies, so I'm up 2 pounds. I know it will go away, it's just water weight, but I am down 2.2 lbs this week!

Another toasty summer day. I've been doing stuff around the house, hung around the pool for a while. Walk/run and coffee with friends early in the morning. It's been a good day. I'm prepping for next week at work, and the week after too because it is going to be a rough couple of weeks. I need to work tomorrow for a few hours. Blah!

I've somehow hurt my toe, not from running though. But I think I'm gonna have to take three weeks or so off from running. Went and ran trails out at Percy Warner tonight, love that and it doesn't really hurt when I run but it is too risky to run, it could get worse

I totally want to start doing more weights but I know the scale will go up. It doesn't seem to matter what you tell yourself, it just stinks to see the scale! But I would love to have more toned arms! We are on Week 4 of C25K and this is the longest I have run (5 min) at a time. Lord help me next week, especially at the end when it is a full 20 min run. That is scaring me! We definitely go super early in the morning to try to avoid the heat. I couldn't do it like some people do around here in 90-degree weather, so I don't blame you for not doing it tonight.

Glad you had a day off, Gloria! You definitely deserve it!

Oh no Gloria! sorry the weight has been persistent! Yeah, the humidity is no fun tonight for sure! That's why I like a gym, pretty temp controlled and I'm a wimp!

This humidity is rotten! I walked at lunch today, could hardly breathe. I was going to run with the East Nasties tonight. I'm pretty die hard about running but I decided to pass. It's just too much.

Stay hydrated everyone!

Jennywren, since I finally got serious about strength training I have put on about five pounds. I've been told that strength training makes micro tears in the muscles which then recover stronger than they were. But this process also involves imflammation as that's what these tears are, and that can cause temporary weight gain. Most people say it only lasts a couple of weeks but my pounds have stayed with me for few months! emoticon

Morning all! My abs are feeling better! Thanks for asking. It was a beautiful day yesterday for sure! :)

up early taking DD20's car to get the check engine light fixed... hope it's not too much... probably the O2 sensor.

Went to the gym last night, 30 min tread mill, then arms/abs on the machines. Weird thing is right after we started with weights, I gained 3 pounds and have yet to lose them! I thought it was water (3 lbs in one day) but 3 days later it's still here :( Haven't really increased eating, so not sure what it could be.

Happy Monday all! Oh my goodness, I do love Mondays and the first day of summer is my favorite day of the year. I took today off, LOVED it! Had some pool time but also did some things like grocery shopping and got the oil changed in my car. GREAT DAY! I LOVE summer!

We are on the way home from Peoria. Seems like most everyone is asleep. It's such a long ride. I'm reading. We enjoyed low humidity for the 15k this morning. I feel like eating has left a lot to be desired. I used to do very well when traveling but not this time. Jennywren, are your abs still sore?mi need to get back to basics, fresh produce and lean protein and I need to kick this sugar habits behind!

Hi Jennywren - welcome and great job with your workouts and losing those pounds! It was very nice this morning but now the heat is unbearable. I hope your stomach feels better.

Enjoying the low humidity this morning, but supposed to get to 98? YUCK! Thank Goodness for A/C, right? Worked out at Plant Fitness last night, 30 min treadmill then arms/abs machines. I have a stomach ache this morning, actually I think it's from the workout, but just don't feel like eating. LOL

Good Morning! Yikes, this humidity is stifling. It's summer and I have always loved the heat and humidity but now that I run I don't like it so much, haha! I definitely can't imagine working out in it all day long. I noticed constrution workers in Hendersonville near Sam's and at the gas station they are building on Indian Lake working at 5 am yesterday and I wondered why so early but they weren't out there late in the afternoon and it made me wonder if they are working earlier because of the heat.

Gwenn, thanks for the tip of baking the peach, that sounds awesome, I definitely want to try that. I can't have grapefruit but that sounds good too!

Hi JennyWren - happy to meet you! Please join us often for conversation and chatter! Gulf shores, SWEET - I havent' been to the beach in forever and I LOVE the beach! 27 pounds is awesome, keep up the good work!

I'm getting amped up for my Peoria trip. We leave tomorrow from the office.

Hi Everyone ! I''m from Hendersonville, just never jumped in here before! (we don't have a pool, we are poor! lol) We just got back from a week in Gulf Shores. The beach was LITERALLY right across the street, and the kids hung out at the pool mostly. LOL they are teens, so must have been because the wifi was better at the pool, no wifi at the beach... LOL

I've been doing this healthy thing since about January, but I'm keeping with it, down about 27 pounds, so, going in the right direction for sure! :) Last night and tonight we went to Planet Fitness, trying to get back into exercise, trying not to bite off more than I can chew at first (I have fibro, well controlled until I overdo workouts!). Loved the Hydromassage, though! I also have severe food allergies, so my menu is pretty... unique .... some times! :D

Well, we are going by the schedule, but not really the app. My husband has done it twice before but never finished because of health reasons. It's just the two of us! I actually started it when I was hacking up a lung, so I figure if I could run with that, I can do it when I can breathe. haha Starting Week 3 tomorrow. I think I'll be fine until Week 5.

We made it to the Peach Truck yesterday and we bought a bag of them. They are so big! They aren't ripe yet, so they are still in the bag. Have you tried baking them in the oven? Although who wants to heat the oven now! I just cut them in half, sprinkle a little stevia and cinnamon and bake for 15-20 min at 425. I do the same thing with grapefruit, although with those, you have to cut around the outside and then cut each little section so it will puff out and you only broil it for 5-7 min.

The apartment is replacing all the roofs and it is now our turn. ALL day long there was banging. I got out this morning around 8 to walk, but it was so hot already. Crazy. I can't believe they work in this heat! They aren't supposed to finish our building until the 24th, but I don't know how that is considering they ripped everything off, including the tar paper and the plywood underneath and already replaced that stuff, plus started the shingles. Our building isn't that big.

Stay cool everyone!

Hope everyone is staying cool and hydrated! It's a scorcher out there and it isn't even summer yet. The humidity.....

So Gwenn, are you doing a C25K app or is it with a group or what? I love it that you are doing it!

I don't know why there are so many pools here but that is kind of why we ended up here....we wanted a pool and it was easy to find a house with one. The house next to us has one, the house next to that one has one, some across the street have them, they are seriously everywhere up here. We usually don't have too much trouble maintaining ours at a reasonable cost...open it in spring, put some chemicals in it each week and it's good. This is the first time we've had this problem. The exorbitant costs come when liners need to be replaced, or pool pumps, etc. That doesn't happen all that often (liners usually last around 10 or more years but they can cost a small fortune). There were some pools in Michigan...my aunt had one, a couple of my childhood friends...those were all in-ground and some people had above ground pools. And those are just the ones I remember or know about in the tiny community I grew up in - probably there were lots more.

Love the Peach Truck! They gave us peaches after the Hillbilly Half! I am really getting into peaches this year, having one almost every day.

It's been a calm relaxing day...went to Publix & Kroger (sure do wish I could get EVERYTHING at ONE place), laundry was done yesterday. I'm enjoying it!

Gloria - I hope your pool situation is resolved soon. I have heard it can cost so much money to maintain a pool. It's interesting that there are so many homes in Hendersonville with pools. I know where I'm from, Maryland, hardly anyone has a pool! I'm glad the company decided to do the right thing. Hope you enjoyed your time at home.

Have you guys heard of The Peach Truck? Apparently they go to locations all over TN. I just looked at their Nashville schedule and they are multiple farmer's markets and random businesses. I haven't been yet, but I'd like to check them out. Hope you like peaches because there are many! And they sell pecans. We also went to the Porter Road Butcher Shop in Nashville last weekend. Good looking meats and they taste great too.

We didn't do much this weekend. Did some grocery shopping, laundry, and finished up the second week of C25K. Week 3 starts on Tuesday. Still can't believe I'm doing this. I did go to Academy Sports to get some compression capri pants and a running jacket. Not that I need it now!

Terrible about this shooting in Orlando. So much senseless violence. Peace to all the families.

LOL Kelly, I wouldn't expect you to know we have a pool, I just don't think about it that poeple don't know. Seems A LOT of homes in Hendersonville have pools for some reason, not sure why that is. And that is one of the reasons we ended up way out there, though I wish we were still in Davidson. Too far to drive and too much traffic. Speaking of which, traffic this morning was a breeze. I figure everyone is taking off for Fanfair, AKA CMA Fest. I bet it will be a nightmare getting out of mid-town this afternoon. I hope I can leave at least 30 minutes early but I still suspect it will be a rough commute.

Yeah, I don't have a particular agenda for this weekend, usual stuff like laundry and groceries of course, but I have a lot of organizing and decluttering to do. Main living area is fine, it's my craft area that is a huge disaster. I'll do what I can do or what I want to do, yes! Maybe read a bit. I am not scheduling anything in particular, not making any special goals, just going with the flow! Maybe go to the Gallatin or Hendersonville Farmer's Market, maybe some evening time outside once the sun goes down and it isn't so hot. I am looking forward to it!

Kelly, do you know anything about parking at the Nashville Farmer's Market? I heard something changed and it is a real problem. I have been wanting to go there but don't want to deal with a big parking hassle....

Ummmm, red faced here...I didn't know you had your own pool, I thought it was your neighborhood pool. Yes, that is good to see a company do the right thing. Well, hope you get it resolved quickly and can get your waterwings on. Odd it is occurring so much though.

I admire your dedication Gloria especially with your work load, maybe that helps get you through it. I give you permission to just chill at home if the household projects give you some attitude.

We usually have no trouble with the pool, we care for it ourselves and once we get it opened and going usually it is a no brainer. This is the first time we have ever had an algae issue. We took a water sample to the pool store earlier this week and spent $400 on Monday for chemicals but water was still bad. Husband called pool store Wednesday and asked them to come and look at it. The guy he talked to just said bring in another water sample and when my husband asked to make an appointment for someone to come out, they said it would be a week and a half because they are so far behind. Well, after spending this much, I wasn't too pleased with that response but yesterday while we were at work they showed up and did some stuff to it (without an appointment). Then they came back later in the day when my husband was home and said that we have been good customers for years and they are going to do what they can to get this resolved. That made me feel much better about things, I guess the guy on the phone was just a clerk who didn't know. It is probably a chlorine resistant algae and they have a few other customers dealing with the same thing, including a neighbor of ours a few houses down. There is something that they can do but I suspect it is going to cost a lot and it won't be ready for the heat of this weekend.

Yeah, I think that the concerts on the lawn are awesome but even on the weekends I go to bed super early because I usually get up at 4:30 (or earlier) to run in the mornings. I have no social life anymore, hahaha!

Okay, so it is going to be super hot, and no pool, so I am counting this as a blessing - I have no races this weekend and no where to be, so I am going to stay inside and try to get caught up on some household things that have been long delayed - this might really be a good thing!

Oh bummer on the no pool Gloria!!! Where they asleep at the wheel and didn't properly monitor it?

I hear you on getting to bed on time, the Symphony is the only week day one, the rest are on Saturday nights and feature local artists and are fundraisers for the the Mansion.

I would love to come down for the concerts at the lawn at Two Rivers but I just can't be out that late anymore. I am getting too old, hahaha! No, I get up so early for work and/or the YMCA, if I am to get enough sleep I have to get to bed pretty early.

The hillbillys from last year's race weren't even there this time. Some substitutes who didn't even come close. It's a gorgeous course out there in Leiper's Fork but it's tough with the hills and they really dumbed it down with the hillbilly stuff.

Camille definitely needs to stop by here and say hello - even for a minute every now and then! That's what I have to do.

It is going to be so blasted hot this weekend, my first REAL pool weekend so far this summer and guess what, the pool has algae. It is not going to be fit for swimming by Saturday.

Just read Today's Top Story about what to do before watching - mind you - watching, a race. I tried to put the Hillbilly video and ask: you do mean this? But it wouldn't let me.

Well the wonderful weather made for a packed lawn last night! Wow, I think this is the biggest crowd. And guess who I ran into there! Camille!!!

Gave her a finger wag, told her it takes but a few seconds to check in; let us know you're breathing. She looks good, had a health scare earlier this year so her Doc has her on some crazy diet that even restricts veggies but it is working she's dropped a lot of pounds. Of course her artist career continues to bloom and keeps her busy.

Are we spoiled yet with this great weather? Got to find something to do besides get groceries (and I really don't need much, maybe I'll stop and just grab freggies at Cooks).
Have a good day, Gloria hope you can get on out of your office and grab fresh air.

Hugs Gloria, she is at Peace and back to her old feisty self. WOW, 19. I hope you can take some much needed time soon to decompress from that and your work load.

I'll have to pass on to our son what a great job Milliton did. Congrats on your race time!!! Sounded like something everyone of any skill would have enjoyed. I hear that folks aren't too impressed with the Hillbilly. Guess it's like a lot of things, fun at first but really?

Bonnie was in town a couple of weeks ago, she has so many long time friends here that I didn't even see if there was chance to see her. She seems to have settled in and is at all not missing Nashville.

Speaking of being AWOL, Toni!!! How's about a quick drive by visit???

Thought I mentioned it a couple of days ago but tonight at 7p kicks off the Music at the Mansion series in Donelson, kicked off again by the Nashville Symphony!!! Free, bring your own bevvies, food (or grab something from the food trucks), chair or blanket. They did not promote it very well this year, so don't know how crowded it will be.

Other than that, boring on this end of town. Enjoy the lower humidity today and again Gloria, a huge hug and a very sad heart for you.

Thank you Gwenn, I have to say, I liked the Hillbilly better when it was the Franklin Half. Much more classy. I did run a lot faster this time - I decided on intervals, 3 minute run, 30 second walk. And I walked up some of the hills.

I've put on about five pounds, I've probably mentioned that. It's not necessarily a bad thing, I am still well within the healthy range for my height, but I don't like it that my clothes are tight. So I need to buckle down and make sure that I don't gain any more.

Kelly, have you heard from Bonny lately? Is she going to come up to Nashville to escape the heat?

I'm glad you enjoyed the Nautical! Hopefully, you didn't get heckled too much on the Hillbilly.

I am so sorry you are having such a bad day. First, I'm sorry you have so much work and that you feel terrible. I am also so sorry to hear about Kitty Kitty. Rest in peace Kitty Kitty. I hope you are able to go home soon and are able to get some rest.

I love Jessica Smith.

So Hillbilly run on Saturday, Millington on Sunday. The Nautical 10 miler was THE BEST. Seriously. So well organized, well supported. Beautiful course through the base. It was hot but they had popsicles on the course for us, along with ice cubes to cool with, lots and lots of water stops with gatorade, and one stop even had beer. Everyone was just so friendly, the medal was the best, it was just incredible. Loved it.

Having a horrible day today though. As much as worked last week I had to work yesterday and was up until 11:30 working, had to get up early to get here. And had to give my Kitty Kitty a forever goodbye today so I am just miserable, have a migraine and can't leave because of deadlines. Kitty had been hanging in there for a while with the special food but over the past few days she was just not well. I could have waited until I could take off to go to the vet with her but I just didn't want to prolong her suffering.

There seems to be a lot of crud going around, I had bronchitis, then bronchial asthma now I just have that awful cough that sounds worse than it is. So here's to feeling all better very very soon!

Do whatever you feel comfortable with, it all counts because you're off the couch doing something. You will be fine next week.

Wishing your Mom a great x-ray by the way.

Good luck with the weather tomorrow Gloria, will be routing for you! Ditto for Sunday....

Wow, Gloria! You are amazing! I actually went with my husband this morning to do a day of C25K. He actually finished his first week. I went along to walk, but then went ahead and did the jogging. I was VERY scared to do it because of what happened to me last time. I may do it Sunday and then just start the second week with him on Tuesday. I don't know. Second week is what did me in last time. But I mentioned to him all the running you do and how you started after I did the last time and you keep running. :)

That was just horrible about that crash. Seems a lot of deaths happening. Actually, a guy I used to work with killed himself on Monday. It was an 11-hour standoff in a town around Atlanta and it did not end well. Very sad.

My mom is doing ok. She goes in for her x-ray on Monday to see what the next thing is. I caught my husband's cold and basically canceled everything this week. I'm still kind of congested in the head and have an annoying cough. I hope to be better next week. At least I can sleep now.

Sounds like it is going to be a rainy weekend, from what I've seen. Not sure if it's scattered showers or an all day thing.

Well if you are going to decompress from a too heavy workload, might as well do something you are awesome at! Kyle used to be out of Millington when he lived here and was in the Navy Reserves.

I know, it is just sad. From what I understand it could have resulted in ground casualties, he is now wearing his well earned Angel Wings. Then add to that the senseless accident in flood waters near Ft. Hood.

How are you Gwenn? How's your Mom doing?

Everyone have a great week end!

Happy Friday gang. I am in heavy duty work mode but I am going to do that awful Franklin Half/Hillbilly Half marathon in Leiper's Fork tomorrow. Then I am going to Millington and on Sunday will run in the Navy Nautical 10 miler on the base there. Speaking of the Navy, what a horrific thing yesterday with that plane crash. It's just so sad, and the only thing I can say is that the guy died doing what he most loved. May he rest in peace.

It is good to remember that there is still good in this world. Thanks for sharing the video Kelly.

Hope you all are doing well, everyone is healthy, no colds or whatever. Seems that a lot of my friends have strep and a good friend who is a nurse at a Kroger clinic says she is seeing a lot of that.

I'm just in work mode, what is new about that. I've got to figure out a way to make some changes, big time.

Really Gloria!!! We should rename you Energizer. That town sounds beautiful, also like a road trip. Laughing because I worked a 5k the Highway Patrol sponsored on Saturday, they also had a 1miler for kids then a 100 yd dash for kids under 5. They were so cute. Amazing, there were a lot of tweens and near tweens that did very well in the 5k, The Brentwood Police team came in a nice bus. THP had all their toys for the public to explore, including the road simulator and that got the attention of the teens, hopefully it opened their eyes on driving safely. (Adults too)

Easy for me to tell you to take it easy with your work schedule Gloria...

Quiet week for me, cough is still here, luckily its all I have and I feel fine. Thanks for asking.
Everyone have a good one!

Awww, I missed your birthday Gwenn, hope it was the best! Kelly, I am recovered from Ragnar I guess, probably should have rested a lot more, haha, but I did a half marathon in Viola, Tennessee Saturday. Wow, that was a beautiful course, it's in a valley and the hills/mountains can be seen to the east, lots of farmland and cows. Gorgeous. Well supported race for a town of 130 or so. About 250 runners and they had a lot of water stops, great food at the end, and very well organized. Impressive.

Kelly, is your cough better? Rest up and take care!

So I am ready for the new week but I know that it's going to be super busy and stressful at work. I've got to stay focused. I've got chicken in the crock pot for tonight and we are getting a new mattress delivered this evening too.

Happy Belated Birthday Gwenn!!! And you got some occasional sunshine today too! Hope you had a great day and celebrate all week end long.

Stroke of luck the rains cleared for most of the farmers market, ran in grabbed a couple of things and headed back home. Fighting a cold which I think I have beat the sinus but keeping fingers crossed it doesn't go into bronchitis. Feel fine, just a noisy cough.

Have you recovered from Ragnor Gloria? I wanted to volunteer this year but decided to go play in Texas instead. Maybe next year for sure.

Oh, I didn't even notice the page because I always just click to this discussion from the front page. Just kind of eh to me.

My mom is hanging in there. She has to wear her immobilizer and will have an x-ray again in a few weeks. Then PT. I did suggest a front closing bra to her.

Yesterday I was graced with sunshine for my birthday, so that made me happy. I think it's supposed to be nice this weekend.

Happy Friday!

The SparkPages are pretty bland now, I guess it might be a cost saver to them? I don't know how that could be but I've been unhappy with the ads for a long time now. I like SP and don't want to change to My Fitness Pal but my food tracker doesn't port over to the Garmin like it does with the FitBit. I actually LOVE LOVE LOVE this Garmin, I am thrilled with it, so very happy. It gives me so much more info than the FitBit and I can use it for my running/cycling, etc. too. But I do wish the nutrition stuff would port over.

Morning! This wet stuff is no way to end the week.

How's your Mom doing Gwenn?

Sounds like you really aren't in luv with that Garmin, I'd keep fittie until it goes good bye...likely there will be another toy on the market by then.

So, what do you think of the new layout the genius' came up with for our sparkpage? Looks a lot like a copy cat and it has taken away the individuality, can't help but wonder when the ads are coming. Actually on the community page, from what I read as a response to one of the coaches comments, we are a commodity and here to make $ for them. Smartest think I did was put in adblocker, can't help but wonder when they will find a way to override it.

Actually is it just mine but is there a banner ad blocking our team picture? That I think is going too far if it is. I noticed it before I headed to TX kept forgetting to ask about it.

Oh my goodness Gwenn, you poor mom! Glad it is not as bad as it first sounded. But sorry you didn't get to visit like you thought you would.

I got a new Garmin and it is probably going to replace my FitBit eventually but I am having a difficult time figuring out how to sync it with SparkPeople and I think that the nutrition tracker won't sync at all, which is a huge disappointment. I am going to keep using the FitBit for at least a couple of weeks and then decide if I will retire it for good or use it till it dies. The Garmin keeps tracks of steps and everything and I wish I could just have ONE device!

I had suggested pillows but I guess she has been lying flat. I couldn't do that! So she got back home and went to the doctor. They took more x-rays and found that it is broken before the ball for the shoulder joint, which is good. So no surgery. Just means she wears the immobilizer for 3 weeks and then more x-rays and for sure she will have PT at some point. They also checked her Vitamin D level. Good idea on the bras!

Oh good heaven's Gwenn! Hope your Mom is able to be comfortable. I found pillows to be a great propped upper. How is her head? For sure sending lots of comfort and healing vibes her way.

She may want to look for bras that velcro in front, or even strapless. Maybe one of those that has multiple strap options.

So Miss Gloria you have survived another Ragnor!!! Happy for you.

Will check in tomorrow, nightey night!

Hello, ladies. It's crazy how chilly it is today! Gloria, I know it wasn't funny at the time, but I did chuckle about the frogs. They are confused!

So my parents had to return home today and only made it to GA to visit my brother's family Friday afternoon. Friday night I received a call from my brother saying my mom fell down this hill in their yard and was at the ER. So we decided to drive to his place yesterday to visit everyone because I had this strong feeling that my parents would just turn around and go home, and I was right. She dislocated her shoulder, which they had a VERY difficult time putting back into place because she also broke her humerus bone, most likely at the joint, or near it. So they tried all kinds of things to put it back and ended up putting her in twilight to put it back. She is now in an immobilizer to keep everything in place. She also hit her head very hard so she had to get a CT scan and everything turned out to be ok there. She will go see an orthopedist back home, so she won't be able to change her shirt/bra until whenever she sees this doctor because she obviously can't remove the immobilizer. That is so miserable!!!

So I guess it's a regular schedule this week after all. Oh well, at least I have a clean house!

We had a nasty storm our way on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, seemed like it lasted for hours. Serious hail, driving rain and strong winds. Lightning was like a strobe light. Our power went out for a while, the pool was about to overflow and two bullfrogs got in the pool and were signing to their hearts' content. So even after the storm we couldn't sleep because of their racket. Finally my husband got them out but they came back so we ended up fishing them out and taking them down the road. This has happened before, and we usually just end up taking them down to the lake.

Otherwise, all is well, just trying to hang in there.

Chilly and sunny for now. Batten down, hail (but not serious hail - really?) expected later.

Donelson's Farmers Market opens on Friday at 4! Park at the train depot and take the shuttle over. That's about all the news that fit to print from this end of town.

Rainbowmomma, where in Hermitage are you?

Thanks Gloria, I just love this picture! HaHa, you know I have no clue how to do anything from the phone, and I'm not much better with the computer.

Welcome aboard Rainbowmomma, come on by often and join the mischief. Actually we need some new faces and ideas! I'm in Donelson but for the time being not going out with a lot of walking outdoors. There are so many places around D and H, I found a lot of times you can find someone to partner up with. greenwaysfornashville.org

Nothing exciting around here this week, Hope all of you have a good one.

Hi Rainbowmomma, glad to see you here!

Does anyone know an easy way to get pictures from my phone to here? The early morning Nashville pic turned out splendidly, as Kelly mentioned (as she saw it already on Facebook). I don't see an option on my phone to put it on here. Gotta figure that out! In the meantime, I've saved it to my computer so that I can share!

Hey Sparkies! I've recently returned to SP after many years of absence. In Hermitage and looking for a daytime walking buddy.

What! Wow, I can't believe what is happening to our city. I just don't want to think that this kind of stuff is happening here but as we grow grow grow I guess it is inevitable. They say about 250,000 people per year are moving here. So crime rates are going up, housing is becoming affordable and traffic is becoming a nightmare. Took me forever to get from West End to my friend's condo downtown yesterday and that is pretty par for the course anymore.

Gloria, I'll be at the finish line (in spirit). If it isn't done by now don't worry about it beyond being nourished, hydrated and layered. I know you will have an awesome race!!!

It's just crazy what thugs are doing around here. They know they can get away with it. They are in for a rude awakening if they get too close to the Capitol, Highway Patrol is responsible for that area and they don't mess around. A lot of folks around here made donations to the coffers, THP was out in full force on their motorcycles, nabbing speeders and non belt users. I saw that, they made improvements to that terminal but still I would not want to be in there alone to long after rush hour. Spooky. Actually two locals here had harrowing experiences over the week end. One of them around the West End residential area about 10p, parked her car on the street and was getting ready to get out of the car when someone opened the door stuck a gun in face and stole the car. Another gal downtown was assaulted going to her car.

Metro nabbed a really bad guy yesterday, hope they keep him locked up. Started with him stealing a truck, the owner was plowing a field (with his 90 something yr old Dad), owner shot at him but missed. Apparently made it to W Nash, tried to ditch that truck for another car and didn't succeed ended up behind a shopping center where they caught him. He's 22, multiple warrants, heavily tattooed including the face. When will folks learn, doesn't matter where you are you are, don't leave the keys.

Good Morning! Yep, that quick little thunderstorm last night, I was out running in East Nashville /downtown when that hit. Fortunately for us we didn't get too drenched but I was figuring on it and had worn a baseball hat. I can't remember what year it was that the bad storms happened, two or three years ago I think. One year it was super duper hot. Last year was decent, warmish but not overly hot, pretty humid though. They kept predicting storms and there was talk of delaying or canceling the race but it all worked out - no rain at all. Current forecast is for 82 degrees and 80% chance of rain, though it won't be that warm at in the morning, just humid I am sure. I have a ton of stuff to do today and tomorrow, related to race prep and work, not sure how to get all of this done. So did you all hear that in addition to the shootings at the bus station the other day, there was some sort of assault or attempted robbery there yesterday. Good grief!

Good for you Gloria!!! Your bod appreciates it I bet. Considering the hours you put in, late works for me (haha, easy for me to say)

Wow, upper 80's today? We had a quick round of thunder and even quicker downpour yesterday, not sure what today is. Was it last year the weather got ugly during the race?

Hey Toni, are you out there - anywhere? I know you're out there, but are you here? Thought of you yesterday, at a wellness fair there was a lady promoting Reiki, this is the first time seeing something like that and she was busy folks were really lined up to talk to her. They did a good job this year with a variety of businesses, especially home care. They even had someone there with a dodad that could do bone density. Here stick your feet in here. I didn't because I know I'm on the decline and as Doc asked, are you doing anything about it? Yup.

See you all later, have a good one!
