Thank goodness it is warming up this weekend! I am so tired of the cold! Not sure what I will do if we actually move north! I will be expected to drive in crappy weather so I better get a new car.

I drove to work yesterday and the roads were fine except for one back road I had to use. My second cold is over, thank goodness.

Husband has been sneezing too, I wonder if it is just the dry air. We have a humidifier on the HVAC but when it is really cold it creates havoc with the heat and so we turned it off for a few days to get through the cold spell - of course that is when we most need it.

So...getting warmer for a few days and then back fairly temperatures for a while! Good! Hoping that the snow they are predicting for the 28th doesn't come to fruition - that is so far out, it will change 150 times before then!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a lunch time walk - yesterday I didn't have time for a lunch break.

I was so happy to be living on the sunny side of the street so the driveway melted and dried up beautifully yesterday. Now for those shady areas around town, geez it'll be awhile. Our 'hood never got a visit from the sand or plow. Dismayed that so many folks have no respect for the roadway conditions. Anyway, glad you made it in, maybe leave during daylight to avoid some road dweebs. Afterall, it's not like you only work a 40 week!

Crazy temps for sure.

A friend had an awful hayfever attack Monday at a meeting, guess I told you I woke up with a bloody nose one day. So I'm glad to hear you are better.

How's by you Gwenn?

Yay! Sunshine! Was snowing again this morning, thankful for the sun, I hope it melts most of this stuff. Roads around here are mostly okay except back in the neighborhood where it is mostly okay - just have to watch out for those unexpected places, mostly on the curves and hills. I did go to the office yesterday early in the morning and yes it was TREACHEROUS and I was not happy about it. I left for home late in the morning and the interstate wasn't very good let alone the streets and roads. I saw several accidents on I-65, and later saw that there were more accidents later. Glad I left for home early. Today I didn't want to risk it as bad as it was yesterday so I stayed home today.

My "cold" is almost more like allergies, lots of sneezing and congestion but no other symptoms.

Ordered two pairs of my usual pants in my usual size and OOOPS, they are a bit snuggly - I need to drop about four pounds I think.

Gwenn, do you subscribe to BeachBody on demand? I am tempted to do that since they have deals right now but I am just not sure I would use it so I hate to throw money away. Right now it sounds good but later, who knows.

If you go out BE CAREFUL!

Everyone look! Sun is peeking out...

Getting ready to venture out, the only issue for me would be getting through one side street in here. Hope if you two hit the road for work it was not a white knuckler on the way in and that you'll be able to leave during day light.

Hope you are doing better today, Gloria. My cold seems to be gone. That was quick!

I was thinking about going to work today, although my car does not like this kind of weather at all, but then it kept snowing and I thought it might be ridiculous to do, so I was going to text my boss and tell her I wasn't coming in. Then I checked my work email and they closed our office. I mentioned to her that I might come in tomorrow instead, but now I'm not so sure. When I went to clean my car this afternoon, our parking lot was very icy where it had sort of melted and cars had driven, so I do not know what the roads will be like to get to the interstate itself. So, I may say, forget it and I'll just see her on Thursday, although how long is it going to stay freezing like this? I am going to get up and get ready anyway and see what happens. Maybe my husband will take me to work since he has an SUV. I'm not sure if he is going to his office though.

Hope you're feeling better today. Somethings in the air in spite of the cold temps. A friend had an awful hayfever attack yesterday! I woke up yesterday with a stuffy then bloody nose. I went to my usual saline nasal thing and it helped. I am a firm believer in using it even with a sore throat, all germs seem to congregate in those areas. Don't know if it really makes a difference but it keeps me occupied for a few minutes. I'll take a look for those pills around here or on line, doesn't hurt to have something new on hand.

I hope neither of you had to head to work today!

Looks like the weather folks got it more than right twice in a row. The roads are a mess, can't help but wonder how bad it'll be as the sun goes down. They even cancelled the Metro Council meeting for tonight.

Well, nothing exciting although it did look like a winter snow globe for awhile earlier. Be safe!

Hope you feel better. You should get some Wellness Formula pills by Source Natural. They sell them at Sprouts and Whole Foods. They have two versions. One of them, you have to take 3 pills and they are rather large. I don't have problems swallowing pills and these are difficult for me. So, even though it's annoying to swallow 6 pills, I get the smaller ones. They are very helpful at the very beginning of something if you take them every 3 hours for about a day or two and then you can take them once a day.

I don't know if we will actually get as much snow as they say or not. They claim no ice and will be fluffy. I know my car won't drive in it if it's more than an inch so I may have to have my husband take me to work. I doubt my business will close. I know my boss won't care if I don't come in. Besides, I was going to take next Thursday off, so maybe I'll just have another day off! They probably wouldn't let me work from home anyway, even though I check my email from home from time to time.

I've had this stuffy nose congestion junk too, trying really hard not to let it progress into my lungs because then I will have a hard time getting rid of it. Tons of people have been sick at work, either with flu or stomach and I've avoided it but now this...I actually started diffusing essential oils at work, not sure if that is allowed, but I am in preventative mode!

Did my workout on the treadmill Saturday, and I hate the treadmill with a passion but I did very well for once. And then yesterday met my friend for a walk/run - still too cold to run very well but we did four miles and then coffee.

So are we getting more snow or what? No ice though, I hope? I am not sure if they will permit us to work from home again tomorrow so I am worried, hopefully unnecessarily.

Toni, I think you are lurking here somewhere, please check in and say hi! We miss you!

This snow should melt today! I found the salt today in the laundry area. It is really annoying to bundle up just to do laundry. I thought I heard there could be snow on Monday night which could affect Tuesday rush hour, but I haven't looked again today.

I just got over a cold and then Thursday I started getting sick with the same one again. So frustrating!

That is quite a fiasco, Kelly! I can't believe she forgot her clothes!! You are a nice sister to ship them back to her.

Well with your snuffles, it was best that they cancelled, you didn't need to be out in these temps. Our main road in is a bit icy otherwise the main roads are pretty good, long as folks practice good behavior with the wheel.

Sis headed out this morning. Yikes. I'm out there for nearly an hour deicing her car doors so she can get in to start the car to defrost the windows. As I'm getting the snow off the car, trying to scrape the windshield, I realize I needed a heavier coat. Inside I go, take a call and get a coat - she decided to take off! GEEZ. I know those windows didn't clear in that short of a time. Anyway, I calm down head off to lunch; get home and walk into the bedroom only to see she left ALL HER CLOTHES!!! If I had seen it right away I would be saving a boatload of $$$ because I could have caught her getting gas (hopefully she remembered to fill up) now I have to send them to her. I sure as heck am not meeting her in Birmingham, much as I'd like to see my niece and family. Oh well, she'd misplace her head if it weren't attached. Gotta luv her. It was easier for me to do it rather than risking her falling even though she had my yax trax on otherwise I would have her do it, wait, she didn't offer to help. In fairness, she broke her ulna and radius in August, then in Oct fell, broke her nose and fractured her eye orbital.

Saw some of your hilarious pic's on fb Gwenn! Luved them.

Stay safe and warm.

Roads got really dicey! My husband says we had about 2" here. I worked from home yesterday, today's half marathon training with Fleet was canceled. Went out at about noon and some of the neighborhood streets were awful but it was definitely melting, thank goodness for the sun, and when we came back about an hour later it seemed like it was even better...but if it doesn't dry up, it will freeze back up and be icy in the morning.

Is your sister still here Kelly? I guess it might not be as bad going south..

I seem to have gotten the cold that everyone else has already had. Just very stuffy/runny nose.

Gwenn, hopefully things will settle back into a regular routine at work!

Hang in there Gwenn! Almost like breaking in a new boss isn't it? I hope you get to take a minication with hubby. Hated to use days off alone too. Especially because the other can't take off due to work. Hopefully you aren't going to try to make that appointment this afternoon.

It's hard to predict mother nature, the meteorologists are danged if the do and if they don't sound the alarm. Wasn't that long ago they didn't and took a beating for it. Looks like they may have gotten it fairly right this time though.

Needless to say I hope you stayed yourself home Gloria.

Gloria, I waved at ya as we went by your exit last night on the way to Kyle's! I'm glad it was warm enough yesterday that we were able to go up so Sis could see them, first time in many, many years, but that rain at times coming home was something else. She finally came to her senses and is staying. We'll see how it is tomorrow, she will be stopping at her daughters in Birmingham to break up the trip.

Well, enjoy yourselves and be safe!

Kelly, I hope your sister is enjoying her visit, but it stinks she might get stuck in the ice and snow. If it even happens.

Gloria, hope you don't have to drive in the crud tomorrow. I never believe the meteorologists anymore! I don't really need to go outside except in the afternoon for an appointment, although I told the person I may not make it if I think I can't drive in the weather. My car is terrible in this kind of weather.

Work is going ok I guess. My boss officially came back FT this week and it has been good and frustrating at the same time. Now we have to determine who is doing what, catch her up on a lot of things that happened that she wasn't a part of, etc. Tuesday was tougher than today. We only got through part of it. Next week we start another section and then she already told me she has a huge list of To-Do's that we need to work on. Plus my review is this month. I have 4 rollover vacation days that I have to use before the end of March, so I'll be taking a day off this month and then figure the rest out later. We were going to try to go to CA in Feb kind of for my husband's birthday, but that's the month there is a lot of stuff I have to be there for and he's in the middle of hiring someone that will have to be trained. So I may be taking days and going nowhere!

Stay safe and have a good weekend!

I am apprehensive about the weather, I just wish we really could know what it is going to do. Obviously we don't know and neither do the meteorologists! I would like to work at home but if the weather is okay, that won't be looked upon too kindly. But if I get here at my usual time, I will probably be here already when the yuck starts.

Oy, nice weather only to be followed by likely sleet and ice. My sis is visiting and supposed to head home Friday via Birmingham...think she will be hunkered down here for awhile longer.

Hope you are finding time to breathe at work Gloria. How's it going for you Gwenn?

I was wrong, I worked about 54.5 hours in four days. Well let's hope this week is better! I intend to get outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather during mid-week! This morning I got up and hit the YMCA before work...and got to work only about 15 minutes late, so that wasn't too bad considering I had to get cleaned up and changed and all of that. I need to get back to that class on a more regular basis.

Had a friend from Kentucky here on Saturday, had dinner with her and her daughter. Did the laundry, groceries, ran at 6 a.m. on Sunday....I know it sounds too busy but it actually felt productive in a relaxing sort of way.

I think it's going to warm up nicely next week, I hope so!

Worked 13 hours Thursday, 16 hours yesterday. I don't know how many I got in for the four days, but maybe 52? I shorted myself on Wednesday when I left after only work 10.5 hours so that I could go running.

I will not complain about the cold, I could be freezing my tutu off in FL or could be stuck in an airport trying to get home - glad I came home last week AND did not head up to NY straight from FL.

Everyone stay warm and safe, have a fabulous weekend.

Another cold day! Guess the "warm up" will be on Saturday? That storm up the coast looks miserable.

Back to work today! It has been a week since I was last there. Haha! My boss comes back next week, so I'll see her on Tuesday. She is coming in today for a meeting with her boss, which I found strange. Not sure what that is about. I'm curious what her schedule will be when she returns. I have a feeling she will still be working the early hours, but not sure if she will be working from home more. I know she used to work home on Fridays, so it sounds like that will be continuing. I'm just trying to be normal at work instead of letting on that I will be most likely leaving later this year. Hard to do sometimes but this too shall pass.

Hey gang, can someone please tell the sun to warm this place up? I recall a New Year's Day many years ago back in our old house when it was cold like this.

I stayed in last night too, I think hubby wanted to go over to some friends but I didn't want to...told him to go on but he stayed home. People in the neighborhood were shooting off some very large fireworks that we could see from the windows, that was enough for me!

Back to work tomorrow, I could use two more weeks off, I have so much to accomplish around this house.

Lard Love a Duck with this weather!!! I will be staying in tonight. Had thought about going over to Cheekwood for the last night, then finding a spot to park and watch the fireworks (since Nashville feels it doesn't need to televise it), that's okay I prefer New York's although the commercials are getting in the way.

Best of everything for all of you and your families this coming year.

Check out the moon tomorrow night.

Kelly, be prepared for the cold when you come back, though tomorrow won't be as cold as today! I'm such a sissy when it comes to cold weather but at least it is sunny.

I'm trying to get some stuff caught up around here, geez, I am years behind, hahaha!

That was a whirlwind trip and few days, no wonder you slept so well! Happy you had a great few days. Time flies doesn't it? Our grandson just turned 21 this week!

The local passes used to be "reasonable" go c couple of times and they paid for themselves but that has changed. I wonder too how folks manage it. (Living above their means comes to mind.)

Will be in late tomorrow night, me thinks it is time, the greatgrand kids are frustrated because I don't coddle them; such a meanie to let them have a tantrum, haha. Much as I enjoyed being here after two years of not being down here, 10 days is a little too long.

Kelly, I agree the prices for Disney are outrageous, I don't know how people afford that. I have friends that go several times a year, take their large families, how does that work? I can't justify the expense.

Gwenn, I am leery about that Subaru downtown, they are a Hyundai dealership too and even though it is close to my office, I won't take my car there. I don't know why but somehow that place seems shady to me!

Anyway, we had a good Christmas, one of the best that I recall actually. I got up early on Christmas Eve and went running with some friends, then we had coffee. After that we went up to Indiana to my hubby's grandmother's house. His cousins, aunt, parents and the kid (who is now 26!!!) and his girlfriend were all there. That was really nice, then we had to get home because we had company from out of town - we got home and he was there shortly thereafter at about 9:30 p.m. - and I had to cook in order to prepare for our Christmas meal. I was up until 1:00 a.m. visiting and cooking but got up at 6:00 a.m to run with the gang again and have coffee - then home to cook! It was a nice quiet day, the way that we like it, and then I went to bed really early last night! Ha! I deserved it, and I slept so well!

Hope you all are finally drying out! It is a bit chilly here this morning, glad I packed my flannel pj's (only because they keep the house so stinking cold), the air hasn't kicked on since last night.

Gwenn maybe check with Subaru corporate over this issue, we went through this years ago with our Ford and they set the dealer straight.

Disney is so danged over priced, even for Local passes. Kids tried to con me into them, flat out NO, heck NO. We stopped big Christmas' years ago, about time they did the same. Of course I can't get one because I only own property.

Nothing exciting here in Podunk, enjoy your time off Gloria and here's to a quiet transition back to work for that new Mommy so you aren't as stressed.

Sounds like a great day, Gloria! I did not go out in this rain today except to get my mail!

I haven't been to Florida in awhile. I guess we did go a few years ago for New Year's, which I will never do again (to Disney). I don't mind Florida and I love the beach, but in the summer the humidity is unbearable.

Looks like we will be spending quite a bit of time in Franklin this weekend. My husband has to get his oil changed out there because he had a special thing that they would cover his oil changes for a while. Not sure of how long, but it was specifically because there was some kind of oil burning issue for the year of his car and he wanted them to cover it. The Nashville dealership doesn't seem to want to honor it, but it's supposed to be used at all Subaru dealerships. Hope so because we won't be here for the rest of our lives. So we'll putter around probably at WF or Sprouts. So exciting. And then Sunday night we are going to our friend's house for dinner.

I forgot to update you on the housing situation. So last weekend we had a call with our landlord and asked for either a month to month, which technically and legally we are allowed to do according to the lease we signed. But considering they probably just printed this off a website or got it from Staples, and the fact that they don't read contracts like I do when I go to work, they probably have no idea it says this. Anyway, they didn't want to do the month to month, so we asked for a 6 month and they agreed to it, which would take us to the end of July. Probably the worst time to try to move with the heat and prices bumped up, but we will see what happens then.

Kelly, I think hubby thinks Florida is too hot and humid and he says it smells like fish - hahahaha! Well, I love Florida, I would live there. Haven't been in years.

Yep, Gwenn, you've got it exactly right, day care is a germ factory and that baby will be sick a lot. I have a co-worker with three little ones and the whole family cycles through an illness and then they just start over and with a new sickness - seems they've always got something. Hope that your boss can manage that okay.

I don't know if I will have time to try all of these fitness places and workouts but I want to - but over time I will! I think barre is so stinking hard. Just like Pilates. But I know it would help me with my running.

So it is raining a ton..glad it is so warm because if this was snow, it would be a TON of snow!

Last night ran with the group out in Lenox Village - love running with them but rarely go all the way out there, just too far away. This was their Christmas 5k and it always a lot of fun!

Did chiropractor and massage this morning. Then had lunch with hubby, went to Fleet Feet and Barnes and Noble, got coffee. It's pleasantly busy - the best kind of day, where there are things to do but it is kind of relaxing!

I am managing this cold. I do feel better today but yesterday around 3pm, I was needing a nap. I think my husband is starting to get it. We are staying in town for both holidays. I found it interesting that I was asked if I was taking time off for the holidays but I honestly didn't think I would be allowed to considering I'm the only one in the legal department. I mean, my boss is working from home, but it's not consistent. Only 2 more days on my own, I think. We will see how this plays out when she comes back. Unfortunately, we all know that when you put a kid in day care they are constantly getting sick. The baby was already sick last week.

Have a great time off Gloria - you deserve it! They have the trampoline workout at a place near me that I go to. I keep wanting to try it, but I get so intimidated by all the young skinny millennial girls. One day I'll get my guts up. My friend told me she would go with me, but she lives in Franklin, and this is on 51st street in West Nashville.

Enjoy your minication, Lord knows you need down time! Not all all of Florida is a big tourist place, so I hope you can get him to one.

Enjoy the extra pampering. A trampoline class? Who knew? Someone did. Let us know. I've been doing modified barre moves in the water, amazed I still remember some of the moves!

Gwen are you staying in town?

Ah Kelly, enjoy Florida, I just love Florida, wish hubby didn't hate it. I need a beach vacation!

Today is my last day in the office until January 2nd, woot woot! I am so looking forward to it - I will have to work a little bit but just a tiny bit, on the 29th and on the 1st but nothing major. I've got the chiropractor and a massage tomorrow and I am going to be very decadent and do a second massage on Tuesday. I might try out a couple of new gyms too if I feel like it - I have some free passes and one I want to try is a barre place up in Hendersonville. They've got a trampoline class too, wouldn't mind trying that out as well.

Gwen I hope you are feeling mucho better this morning! Stinks this time of year. Safe travels to hubbby. Laughed because yesterday I suggested we food shop out of the pantry, fridge and freezer for a few days. She gave me a look then I heard myself say then let's trash them...lucky I got dinner. Haha

Gloria I hope the rest of the week goes your way for no more traffic messes, there is no more back way. Sunday they had to close I 40 down you would have thought the world was coming to an end in Donelson, then the ATL shut down really did them in. They had to add extra cop cars to block it because folks were using the shoulders to blow past them!

Foggy yesterday AM, beautiful though. Sun rise through the fog and Spanish moss tree, couldn't see ,more than 10 feet out the door. No I didn't take a picture, dang it. Chilly this morn, well for here it is.

You all have a great stree free couple of days.

Yeah, the traffic was horrendous everywhere! So sorry you had to sit in that!

I started getting a cold yesterday. Blah! I couldn't get to sleep until after 2 this morning. Good thing I had the day off, although I spent half the morning restocking our pantry and medicine cabinet. My husband has been in Memphis and should be getting back today.

Well, I was supposed to go to Cool Springs last night for the final group session with the personal trainer. I never got there but I was in my car for FOUR HOURS. Geez, I don't do well sitting idly like that. I got as far as Brentwood in a little over an hour, had to detour, traffic was so bad that it took me another TWO HOURS to get back to I-65 - so THREE hours basically before I was able to get turned around and make the hour plus trip home. Wrecks EVERYWHERE!

And then this morning on my way there was something, fortunately it only delayed me by about ten minutes.

Foggy this morning, Kelly, enjoy your trip, be safe and if you are not on here, have a wonderful Christmas!

I went to the chiropractor yesterday, I think that this one will work out, not creepy like that one that All The Runners Love...except me, I didn't care for that guy at all. I am going to try to get myself in for a massage too. Did some more crafting last night. Tonight is the last night of the group session with the personal trainer. Wish he wasn't so far away, I would like to continue to go to him but I can't go to Franklin every week.

I did the trail race up in Gallatin yesterday. It was cold and wet but fun! They said that 205 people registered but only 133 showed up. I did some paper crafts this weekend too.

Gloria I know how much you love running; to be honest you are exhausted and being that wet and cold it might be a good idea to go with your instinct and bail too.

I love those kisses cookies too!

I made shortbread cookies with Hershey kisses inside them....always popular once people figure out there is chocolate in there, haha! I love butter and of course shortbread has A LOT of butter, but now I am not supposed to have the flour...boooo! They are easy to make and better than store stuff....we were encouraged to bring homemade though at least one person brought store bought - I really want my special cookies, haven't had them in years and years as they are way too hard to make - takes a long time. It's a family recipe and I just LOVE them. Not even sure where I have stashed that recipe to be honest.

My mom said my dad has snowplowed a a few times in the past few days. Not sure if he still does the neighbor's or not. They are required to keep the sidewalks clean.

It was pretty cold this morning, went up to White House to run with my gal pals and then had coffee with them, we walked and ran and talked and I was glad I put an extra layer on because it was cold! If we had been running more I might have been warmer, maybe not though. Now it is so much warmer out. Guess we can expect rain in the morning and I have a six mile trail race in the morning...nothing like running in the cold rain. Yuck. I run in the rain for sure but two of my friends who I was doing it with have bailed out so I don't know, maybe I will bail out too.

You are so right Gloria, wasn't thinking, either way you still have to leave the house and I'm sure the PO hasn't changed, they don't like it when the mail backs up. Looks like Michigan is going through a white out, hope the family is warm and toasty.

What did you bake for the party? With your schedule, a trip through the grocery would have been my choice. By all means, please give yourself chill time this weekend!!!

Today as it went on really was nice, everyone have a great weekend! Nothing exciting in this part of town.

Yeah, where my parents are is pretty rural I suppose but not the country. It is ridiculous and hard to explain but it was only until recently that they did home delivery there, post office box was a requirement except for those with disabilities and elderly people. Now people can opt for home delivery but my parents still don't have it, my dad refuses to do it...that's all I knew my whole life until I moved to East Lansing and even then I had a mail box since I lived on campus, but anyway, the story is that UPS ships through USPS. UPS requires a street address. USPS requires a PO Box since my parents don't have home delivery and they will NOT deliver to their home. So if a package comes for them that has a street address and not a PO Box, they will return to sender. I have even tried putting BOTH the PO Box and the street address and it STILL is returned! My mom can't order anything on line so she sends everything to my sister's house but I guess my sister gets annoyed with that and my mom is afraid my sister will open the boxes and my mom doesn't necessarily want her to know what she ordered. USPS says they will still deliver on time so I could have sent it that way but then I have to rely on my dad to go to the post office to pick up the thing and who knows if he would have time to do that with his crazy schedule so it was just easier to do it via Fed Ex. I trust them more too!

Had to bake last night for the department party, I don't usually participate in these events but I will this time, put on my game face. I got my inlaws and Greg's stuff wrapped and now just have a few things left to wrap...work will be stressful for the next few days but I think I can sort of relax and chill at home for now!

Gwenn sounds like a brown noser phishing for something. Odd indeed. For sure companies seem to turn into Grinch's.

Would those gifts fit into the large one price priority mail boxes if it was a heavy box? Boy they must be in the country if they don't deliver mail, what an inconvenience. Guess I'll have to tell my daughter she's not so far out at least they deliver right to their driveway mailbox and to the door for large items.

Good to see at least you are coming up for air.

Oh wow Gwenn, yeah that is really really strange and would have me worried. For some reason or another employers like to make personnel cuts in December, worst time for people too, my office has done it, my husband's office has too. I hope all is well and that nothing bad comes out of it - of course, change is also an opportunity so whatever happens on that front, hope it is something great!

I finally finished the shopping and wrapping for the fam in Michigan, it is boxed up and ready to go. I will carry it down to FedEx today...unfortunately UPS cannot seem to deliver to my parents - they always send it via the USPS instead and since UPS requires a street address but where my parents live, the USPS requires a PO Box, they can't seem to get the deliveries right ever and return to sender each and every time. FedEx is more expensive but at least they will get their package.

Now I still have a lot to do (shopping is done, wrapping is not, I have some baking to do for the office thing tomorrow) but the worst of the stress of Christmas is past me now that the Michigan stuff is done! Now I can relax a little and enjoy the rest of the season.

I have a pretty good feeling some people are trying to get away with things. But as much as my boss likes to push back, I also have a feeling people do this last minute thing with her on more than one occasion. It's really ridiculous. Yesterday was ok but still some annoying drama. Boss is doing more stuff for the CEO, but she is coming to the Christmas party tomorrow. I'm not really looking forward to the party but whatever.

My husband had a strange phone call with someone yesterday who isn't employed where he is, but works with the owners of the company. He asked some strange questions like, are you still looking for a job? When my husband replied that he was still working there and the Nashville office was still open, the guy was stammering. It's strange the questions that were asked so now we are wondering if he will have a job or not. It seems so weird since they just put him on two big projects. It's possible they could close the offices they have because they are super expensive and have everyone work remotely, but who knows. So it kind of throws a bit of a wrench in life planning. Like if he has to find a job anyway, why are we going to stay here? We haven't had the conversation with our landlord about a 6 month lease, but we need to do it very soon to give a 30 days notice if needed.

Took me over an hour to get to the stampin' group on Monday, took me longer than that to get to personal trainer in Franklin last night. I've got to quit spending this much time in my car! It's too stressful and time consuming.

Little cold snap this morning but will be warm this afternoon!

We had a team lunch yesterday at BrickTops. I had a veggie plate with sauteed spinach, steamed broccoli and the kale/quinoa salad - so yummy! And I got plenty so will have enough for lunch tomorrow too.

I mentioned to the police two years ago that just by driving by the run lane on Mt Juliet Rd, it seemed too narrow. You just confirmed that. Actually I was on my way to Courntney's for a Club meeting, didn't even think you were on our side of town. Courtneys is just up the road from The Corner Pub.

Glad you were headed out to your Stampin group.

Gwenn hope you have a better week, Gloria may have hit on something.

Well everyone have a great week, see ya tomorrow.

Well Kelly, sorry about the game but what about that snow? Made for some pretty football didn't it? We don't watch but we were out somewhere later that day and I saw it on a TV and as much as I hate snow, it is pretty.

Seems to me these idiots at your job Gwenn should know better, are they trying to get away with it because they know you haven't been doing it that long, maybe testing the waters to see what they can get away with? I am glad that the CEO seems supportive. And I hope you get the residence settled, it's so hard to find places to live with the housing market the way it is here.

I did the Mt. Juliet Half Marathon on Saturday...I would say not a great race. At one point we were running on Lebanon Road with traffic on the shoulder with only inches between us and the cars. Otherwise, kind of a boring course, super hilly and of course it was soooo cold! Windchill was about 15 I think. I was just too exhausted from work and walked a good part of it. They had chili and cornbread from The Corner Pub afterwards, that was awesome! Spent yesterday baking cookies and making gifts for my Stampin' Up group tonight and got the majority of the Christmas shopping done, but not quite all of it - now I just need to get it wrapped, ship some of it to Michigan and maybe pick up a couple more things.

Yikes Gwenn, sorry you are having such a mess to deal with. You too Gloria, I hope you get down time this weekend.

Doesn't hurt to ask the landlady if she'd consider a shorter lease. I'm laughing still at doing a check on your kitties, that is plain crazy. Crazy too with the high rents the tenant has to do more of the upkeep.

Got a Christmas lunch, the entertainment is going to be fabulous. A band called Exit 219, just love them. Then of course the Army Navy game...GO Navy - BEAT Army!

Crazy weather to the south of us yesterday wasn't it? I'm laughing at folks who ran and emptied the grocers shelves with the possibility of snow today. I'm going to say it missed us by that much and then some. Oh Donelson is having their parade today, big whoop of a quarter mile long. Well at least they are still having it, it is hanging on by a thread. I will miss it.

Enjoy the sunshine!

Ugh, I understand about work, Gloria! While I haven't been putting in 14 hour days, the work load is intense and people are so freaking frustrating! I had some guy email me after 5 on Wed, which is a day I don't work, about reviewing a contract. Now, it was a simple confidentiality agreement, but it was the vendor's agreement. I had too many other priority items to worry about that thing. He came to me 10 min before a meeting with this vendor asking if it was signed. No, dude! I haven't even looked at it and if I had corrections, when is that going to be reviewed? So I told him that if we are the ones giving out more about our company, I would suggest using our template and see if they will sign. 10 MINUTES before a meeting? Someone else did something similar last week. They wanted the same type of contract and the meeting was on Tuesday. They asked me on Thursday. It would have been feasible, except for the fact that the CEO was out until the next Wednesday. So she had her meeting, because technically the vendor signed the contract, but it wasn't fully executed. And now the CEO doesn't want to sign it because he is concerned.....so....people, get with it! So yesterday was completely insane. I even told the CEO I was swamped and so he prioritized my work. I mean, I can do that, obviously, but it makes it easier for me to tell someone that they have to take a back burner. I didn't even go to the birthday party celebration because I just wanted to get the work out of the way. Next Thursday is the off-site Christmas party and if work is as crazy as it was this week, I really don't even want to go and lose 3 hours of working. Plus, no one can add more work to me because they will be at the party, but I'm sure it will be frowned upon if I don't go. Boss is working and it's been pretty frustrating. I'm glad she is taking some of the things I would have sent to another attorney, but she likes to sit on things. Plus, she has always been easily distracted, so I only imagine it is worse being at home. Luckily she puts the baby in day care.

Anyway, sorry for all of that!

Glad Lemur is doing better. It is quite interesting that he is ok with going in the litter box now. Good thing! I started doing Toby's glucose testing again and he has not been drinking as much water as he was before. I think not only was the renal failure stuff starting, but his sugar was out of control. Those tests aren't cheap, but I'm ok with spending money on them in order to keep him from making clumps in the box the size of TN. He is also jumping around playing again too.

Yes, freezing this morning and this weekend! Makes it difficult to keep up with this exercise program when it requires so much walking. Actually, was going to try this 28 day challenge on Sparkpeople. But apparently you have to sign up for another website with a 30 day free trial, which is why the challenge is 28 days, and then if you pass 30 days, you are charged for the next month. Sneaky. So, don't think I'm going to bother with that. Was going to a yoga class this morning and I was the only one signed up, so it was canceled.

We went to look at two houses on Wed. Basically in Bellevue. One was actually a duplex and Harding Road was up on a hill right behind the house and the house was on the corner of whatever street it was on. Very old and behind the times and they wanted $1400 for it. Whatever! We went to another one that is literally across the street from the new shopping center in Bellevue. It was very nice outside and was HUGE with a huge yard. I don't think my husband wanted to do yard work. Plus, I don't want to buy all that yard equipment to move it all in a year. The house was better inside and they had just put in all laminate floors, but then the bathrooms were behind the times. I wasn't thrilled with it. The rental company wanted $300 per cat and then $50 for each cat to apply. I didn't realize my cats required a background check? I mean, literally there are two lines on the application that is asking for the usual stuff. Just a racket. I didn't like the property manager either. She totally rushed us in the first place that was off of Harding and it turned out it wasn't her property, it was her co-worker's. Then when we went to the one in Bellevue, she took her time and had us walk around forever. I thought that really showed her character and I didn't like it. We have been discussing just putting up with where we are and seeing if our landlord will let us stay for 6 more months. Or maybe month to month. We'll see. Oh, and Kelly, my husband did work by the airport, but now he's in the Gulch.

Sorry I've been MIA this week, just terrible at work, 14.5 hours one day, 13.0 another, etc, etc. and you know my drive isn't that short either. I'm pretty exhausted and the weekend is going to be very busy but even so I should be able to get a bit of rest.

Lemur is feeling better and this cat for a long time has refused to use the litter box, always goes just outside of it, or in the hallway just outside of the room where his box is. Well, lately he HAS been using it. Hubby said we needed to try new litter and we did - and so we've been keeping it very clean and he is doing better - not perfect but better. Also, he is so big he can't seem to jump on anything but all of the sudden about a week ago I noticed he is coming and going from the bed at night - he still won't jump on the couch or the bed in guest room but he is getting up there with me so I can pet him all night, hahaha!

So this COLD! Well yes, winter HAS arrived at last.

Enjoy the puppy Kelly, so sorry you have to take her OUT in this cold!

Gwenn, still in for the plank challenge, this is day eight and I am over a minute with pretty good form, I just need to hang in there!

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Brrrrrr it's a tad cold this morning!

Quiet around here, have the grandfourlegger for a few days while the family goes to the Army v Navy game in Philly. It'll be a nicer time this time. Back in 91 or 92 his high school friend that was at Annapolis, he got to go up with the team and work the sidelines. One of the worst weather days in recent memory, he came home on the brink of pneumonia. This time they are in the stands.

Hope all is quiet with you all, well Gloria, quiet as chaos allows, stay warm!!!

Gloria, hope you got in between the monsoons we're having. At least the winds have died down. It's supposed to clear out maybe by noon. By the way, hope Lemur is well on his way to better.

It's hard to even think about changing after being somewhere for awhile, just the search alone is daunting but this is crazy what your work level is. We're right here for support.

Gee Gwenn, what is that gal looking for - part time work for full time pay? Sorry to see your stress level going up too. Good luck with the apt search, how much would Bellvue add to the commute for you two? Does hubby still work around the airport or am I thinking of someone else?

Nothing much exciting going on around here. Stay dry.

I am sorry to hear about Lemur but glad the medicine is working. Poor thing! Did he have an intestinal infection?

I actually don't mind planks. They are better than situps or pushups for me! haha! I'm finishing up a program that is 12 weeks long. I have 2 and a half weeks to go. Then I don't know what I'll do. I thought about doing the 28 day challenge they have on here with Jillian Michaels but the workouts seem a little bit much. I see that one of the trainers I like from Beachbody, Autumn Calabrese, has a new workout coming out and there is some kind of free trial of it from Dec 26 to Jan 15. I might try that one. Called 80 day challenge and seems pretty well rounded with cardio and weights. I love doing my daily walks but sometimes it's hard to get it in when it's raining, like today! The cheesy indoor walks are hard to do.

I am really sorry about work, Gloria. They seem to run you ragged. How long have you been working there? I guess you probably don't want to do another job somewhere else. My boss is sort of coming back to working- she told me she was today, but then she is in some kind of stubborn fight with her boss about how they are paying her, so she isn't jumping back in until he agrees to what she wants. It's not really going to help me that much, so it is whatever but it's creating some drama which I did not miss. I already know I have a ton of work today on patents and that is my least favorite part of this job and seems to overtake it at times.

We started looking online for places to live. We are finding quite a bit in Bellevue, so we may be moving out there depending on what happens. We haven't told our current landlord yet, but we plan on it. Wanted to call her and tell her before we send her a letter.

Got the tree up but not feeling very holiday as usual. And I'm super behind on putting together the gifts and not feeling very motivated. Personal life is part of that, but I'm working on it. Anyway, hope you all have a good day!

Gwenn

Lemur seems to be feeling better, so we are keeping our eye on him now. We've got to give him a pill every day for three more days, that is always fun but he is much easier to pill than Earl was.

Planks are okay but geez, why are they so hard! Haha!

Work is just terrible, I just can't say too much here. My hubby would like me to quit but I just feel that I can't right now, I want to hang in there but I have some ideas in mind for the future. I am hurrying by here so that I can go fire up the work computer and get a few things done that will help alleviate the stress tomorrow and Tuesday.

Cold moon...I saw something somewhere about the moon, maybe it was that...it was certainly brilliant last night!

Yeah, I did the 12 South Winter Warmup 12k yesterday. My running has been really good lately but yesterday not so great and I think it is just from being exhausted from work.

Here's to Lemur doing better and is all well. He really is unique to tolerate the ear pricks, Hopefully this is all just grief related.

Gloria it may be time for you to step up and tell them your wonder woman cape is tattered to the point of no repair and your clock has the same hours as everyone else's. I hope all went well Friday though. Besides I'm sure you eat good for you chocolate and you bod probably needs whatever is in it.

How are the planks coming Gloria, high five for doing them! Did you race yesterday, seemed like there were many all over the place. I've gone back to doing wallies, talk about mushy mushy...

Did you all catch that beautiful moon last night? WOW. I saw something about it being called a cold moon. Really?

Enjoy your Sunday gang!

Lemur went to the vet, hubby took him yesterday, I don't think they know what is wrong but they gave him some meds and stuff and he seemed like he was feeling better last night. No accidents around the house that I could see this morning He stays at the vet whenever we are gone so he can get his insulin and they are very complementary regarding how well behaved and laid back he is - even when he is getting his ear poked all day for his glucose panel, he is well behaved.

I am doing a plank challenge with one of my running groups for the month of December. November we did a one mile walk/run each day thing. The plank will be less time consuming that is for sure but planks are hard and my core is mushy, hahaha.

The president of Cat is coming today, and we will be in a long meeting over at Vandy. I am so stressed, I can't even tell you...I am already eating chocolate at 6:45 a.m. I have gotten some new work, and am already behind on my old stuff and just too much to explain in that regard but it's just getting to be way too much for me.

Gloria, I am sorry that I somehow missed that Earl had crossed the Bridge. I thought maybe he had since you went up to Michigan. I'd contact the Vet just in case something was being passed around during his stay. And that can happen just like any place. So yes I do hope hubby has a sticky note to remind himself to do it. Geez men.

And I agree with Gloria, I was selfishly happy to read you are staying around for awhile longer Gwenn. And your boss works with you to relieve the stress factors.

What a shock to get up to cold and dank this morning. From the traffic reports, rain has turned drivers into morons.

Lemur has diarrhea and is throwing up, a LOT! He was fine Sunday and Monday and then on Tuesday that this started, like A LOT. I can tell he isn't feeling well. Jamie is working from home today (seriously, he gripes constantly about his job but he is well compensated, works from home at least three days a week and doesn't have the stress that I do). Anyway, since he will be home he said he will call the vet, but I can't count on him to do that, he just kind of gets easily sidetracked. He is easily sidetracked by his hobbies. Anyway, I wonder if Lemur caught something while he was at the vet.

Gwenn, I sure do hope that your boss doesn't just do projects and somehow finds a way to support you even if she isn't actually in the office. Have you found a place to move? I hope it is much better than where you are! Kind of glad you are staying around but that is just me being selfish, ha!

I totally didn't wake up this morning until 5:20. I went to sleep okay, woke up when it started to rain (on the skylights in the bedroom), had a hard time going back to sleep and then when I did I just plain didn't wake up when it was time! I don't really need an alarm but set my Garmin for backup just in case...and I didn't notice it go off. Traffic was a little heavy but it could have been worse.

Hope Lemur is ok. Do you think that he misses Earl? Did they check his thyroid? Maybe it's the same as humans where if it is messed up, it causes weight gain.

After today it is one more month of doing this job by myself. I am really starting to hate going into work now. Like dread it. I like it when I have a buffer (my boss) with the CEO but I have to talk to him so much and it's hard to explain, but he's very hard to figure out and very particular so it's hard to know if I am going to do something the right way for him. So some days there is a lot of stupid drama because people think their stuff is so priority, which is what happened on Tuesday, and then I spend half my day trying to contact attorneys and have meetings and I'm just like UGH, I want to be left alone to do my work! I actually went to HR to vent, which is a rarity. So my boss is going to start working remotely PT next week on Tue/Thurs. Not sure that it will help me much because apparently she will be working on projects. But it's one more month and then I guarantee you, I am taking vacation days that I couldn't take while she was out. Plus, we are planning on moving AGAIN next month. So we aren't going to stay in our condo, but we are staying here another year to hopefully figure out where we want to go and get our ducks in a row. I felt too rushed to move out of state right now. This means that my husband is going to have to find another job in TN because I don't think he's going to make it another year there without losing his mind.

I wish I had the bunny’s endless energy, ha! Last night the tree was put up and the lights put on so I can decorate...if I have time. I never used to start early but hubby likes the decor and I never have time after the first of December because of the frantic work schedule. In recent years he has had to do the tree by himself because of my job...maybe I’ll have time this week!!!

I had planned a short shopping trip yesterday but forgot and then ended up getting on line to do it, thankful for sales and free shipping!

Lemur’s glucose panel was great but no explanation about his excessive weight. He isn’t eating that much. His whiskers are super short and we don’t know why but he can’t jump on furniture and we don’t know if it’s because of the weight or whiskers or both. He’s been very attention starved since his older brother has been gone and this morning he seems to be having stomach issues.

Welcome back and yes!!! to the nice sunny weather. Even if it does take awhile to show up. The world didn't end but missed you. You were a busy lady, we'll have to redub you the energizer bunny Gloria.

What's with guys? Has he realized he forgot something? Decorate what you can, the tree can wait. My tree doesn't go up for awhile and I don't start decorating til next week, which I have always done but over the years I have cut way back. I leave my stuff up til Jan 6.

Don't you realize mismatched sox are in style now! We were talking about that yesterday so I what's up and decrapifying our sox? Colder weather? I know when I got out of the pool yesterday I couldn't get into my woolies fast enough. They take up so much room though.

Have a good day!

HELLOOOOOO! Happy Monday! Yes, it has been so cold in the mornings hasn't it? But gorgeous warm weather in the afternoons. We are back, first time in years that I didn't check into SparkPeople every day and the world didn't end, bahaha!

I did a little shopping but mostly just looking for stuff for my mom that she needs, went to Yankee Candle because I love pine scented candles during the holidays. Hubby hung the lights on the front of the house and brought down all of the decorations but didn't bring the tree???? So now the house is all cluttered with that and no tree. And now we are going in to month end soon and I will not have time to decorate you know.

Did a step challenge on Garmin last week, even with mostly sitting and visiting with my mom who is disabled and can't walk at all, I won the challenge! Hahahaha, yay for me, my competitive edge rears it's head every now and then, I had to make it happen. I'm also doing a challenge to either run or walk a mile each day in November, so far I am still on that and only three more days left. And my strength training challenge is for six weeks, we are on week four. I don't think I will win that one but I am doing GREAT. Did a 5k last Friday in Michigan, at night, that was fun!

Also, got home and cleaned out the sock drawers. Got rid of a lot of socks and will have all of the same trouser socks or knee socks so that I don't have to worry so much about matching them...bought a few pairs of each, all the same, all black and I have a few navy ones and a couple that are brown (and some white for jeans and sneakers). Just trying to get rid of excess and make things easier.

Thank you, Kelly. You may have seen my post on Facebook, but I was very surprised to hear that his kidney values were normal! I was totally expecting the worst as he has lost over a pound in about 6 weeks and doesn't want to eat. He was looking pretty rough too. So we go back in 3 months for bloodwork unless something prompts a visit sooner.

Traffic in Brentwood is terrible! And yes, Granny White is definitely not well-lit. I used to take those roads home when I lived in Franklin and when it was dark, it was awful! Glad you could visit with your friend!

I bought some things online during Black Friday and didn't bother with any of the other "holiday" shopping schemes. I normally try to support small businesses, so I was cool with skipping Saturday.

The weather during the day has been so nice but freezing in the mornings! Hard to get back into it with walking before work when it's like that!

Oh Gwenn sorry to hear about your kitty. You've posted some awesomeingly cute pictures of those two lately. Here's to getting some more answers to the renal puzzle Monday. I say let him eat what he will, it's hard because you feel it isn't good for his system but like say he's got to eat. We'll be right there with you for his blood work.

That's nice of you to care for the other cat, don't envy you driving out to Franklin Friday though! I drove into Brentwood Friday late afternoon and was smart enough to take Franklin Pike from Harding so didn't have to mess with the Old Hickory exit traffic. Lord love a duck, you get off OHB, the streets are not well lit even on Granny White and the street signs are near impossible to read. Of course BB couldn't get me there because it was a newer 'hood. I had inaccurate directions from AAA so it meant turning around in folks driveways. I was waiting to see blue lights following me. One of Kyle's high school friends has moved here, his folks were in town and I hadn't seen his Mom in nearly 10 years so it was fun...we all celebrated 30 years of being friends.

I did some cruising the small business Saturday locally, nothing hit my hot button. Besides everyone wants $$ or cards but they need something else to open. Especially the younger ones.

We sure lucked out on the weather didn't we?

Gloria, safe travels home.

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving! No, we stayed home and we are actually taking care of our previous neighbor's cat, so driving to Franklin a bunch.

I take Toby in on Monday to get his bloodwork done. Too bad I can't see the doctor too. It seems as if Toby has already lost interest in his food for some reason and of course I just bought a new bag of it from online. I don't know if it is a hairball situation, which seems to happen to him, or something to do with the renal failure. Unless his failure was pretty far gone, that seems quick to me. Cats are finicky anyway. Probably going to see if I can get a different Renal Care food and some wet. He ate Lily's food this morning. I didn't try her food tonight but he wasn't wanting his. So I gave him Friskies. It isn't the prescription stuff but sometimes you just have to say oh well, he has to eat. I can tell he is losing weight because I can feel his spine now and I never could before. I am going to ask them to weigh him and see. I'll pretty much get a better picture on Monday about the prognosis as this bloodwork will show if the food is even helping him.

Anyway, anyone go shopping on Black Friday? We did some online shopping so I'm getting a new Fitbit and a new laptop. My husband is getting a new computer too. I don't really know if I'm going to like a wrist Fitbit and I got the one that was a little larger, so I'll see what I think. If I hate it, I may just stick with my super old one and buy it a new case.

Sunny and bright again today!!! Heading up "north" this afternoon to burn lots of belly laugh calories.

Epic failure with making cookies, scored some great prices last night on store bought. I don't care what the hostess asks, next time it won't be cookies.

Everyone have a great day as we reflect on what we have and are thankful for.

It's chilly again here this morn, but at least it hasn't been wet so won't complain. So enjoy your weekend Gloria!

Are you headed out of town Gwenn?

I'll be up at Kyle's just for tomorrow and staying over. Small family dinner then the rest of the in laws families will drop by for desserts.

Everyone enjoy the next few days, pace yourself though.

I’m in Michigan! Yesterday it was warmer here than down here. Today it was decent but with a fierce cold wind and now a cold front has come through so it will be very chilly!

Who left the fridge door open again? Yikes that frozen fog yesterday morning was something else...fog in places it usually isn't to add to it.

Not much else going on this part of town. How's everything in your parts of town?

Good to see you again Kristy and please come by often! Good for you for having a great attitude, it's okay to take care of yourself. It is something we have a hard time giving ourselves permission to do.

Gloria I do HOPE youwer OFF from yesterday at quittin' time til the 29th!!!

Wild ride through here with the storm, how'd you all come through Gwenn? Looked like it got dicey up your way too Gloria, daughter in law says all is well where they are.

My fav new food "truck" (it's a converted container) SemperSliders that is over by Fiddler's Inn took a direct wind hit, owner is an exMarine, he is hurt (back and hand), to what extent I don't know, protecting his wife and young child. Sigh and I want to scold him like a drill sergeant for staying open.

I'll be going up to our son's for turkey day, stay over then fight my way home Friday. No matter which way I go there's going to be loonies on the road. Did you order a turkey or pork, either way why not, would work for me too. I likely would have ordered a fried turkey, although I have an electric turkey fryer that's only been used 2-3 times. Maybe Kyle will want to give it whirl. Luv them fried oh my oh my oh my. The last time I was over at the Parthenon, I came awfully close to stopping in Honey Baked, been awhile.

That's about it around here, have a quiet night and tomorrow. Keep your powder dry.

Hope you all have a good weekend! Any fun plans for Thanksgiving? Just us and we ordered from BarB Cutie or however you spell that! I also plan on ordering from Honeybaked Ham for Christmas. So much easier. Looks like we'll be getting cold weather again after a storm this afternoon.

NIce traffic jam this morning, you know how that is on Friday when you want to get to work on time so that you can LEAVE on time in the afternoon, not that I haven't put the hours in this week, I have, but I have so much work to get done before I am off - today should be my last day until the 29th. We will see, I am already mentally preparing myself for chaos.

Yay Kristy, glad to see you back! I know, life takes us on unexpected journeys, it sure does! But glad to see you here. And I know how it is with Facebook - it's hard to balance it all. So yes, do stop by and visit with us!

Not much going on here, just work as always, ha! Heavy traffic today but at least it was moving at a decent clip.

Hello friends!
It has been a long time since I have been here!
I spend most of my time on facebook because I run some groups there and to be honest I forgot how much I love this site emoticon
I hope everyone is well emoticon
I have had a lot of life happen to me the past couple of years and it left me not focusing on me and on others. I don't begrudge a bit of what I have had to do and I am back to taking care of me again!
I will try to come around more. I would love to catch up with everyone!
emoticon

Yeah, our yards are huge, that is why we don't see much of our neighbors. We see the ones next door but further on, not so much! We have I think 1.2 acre?

So the Thistle Farms restaurant has reopened, it is on Charlotte? I just love what they do for the community...one of the best organizations in our community!

Not a lot going on here besides work, where things are just beyond ridiculous. I am wondering where my limit is on that....I might be reaching it! Ha!

Looks like someone closed the fridge door, how long before it blows open again?

This is a reincarnation of the block party, I don't know if we could pull it off if it weren't for the common area we used (although years ago they used our cul de sac for one). We did a chili cook off about 6 yrs ago where several hosted chili tastings provided by their neighbors, idea was to eat ourselves around the 'hood, like a progressive dinner. I don't remember if you live on a well traveled road, that might make it hard to do a party in the front yard without crashers, how big are your back yards?

It's hard to get to Old Hickory or this end of town isn't it, no straight line. If you weren't so overwhelmed at work the side trip to Brentwood wouldn't so much be a problem. I'm tempted to tell you stick with them, maybe one will pop up closer to you that you could work your way into as a back up. Our daughter in law was big into stamping (really gave her a distraction during Kyle's first deployment) not so much anymore. I don't even see stampin' vendors at the craft shows now that we're talking about it. Or maybe they are there, I'm not looking?

Went to a meeting last night, the guest speakers were from Thistle Farms. It always warms my heart when I see them or even drop by their place (which I haven't done in awhile). The product manager is originally from Knoxville. As she described where she was from I knew exactly where. The kids went to Knox Catholic, at the time the school was in that district and it gave the kids a dose of reality the few times their paths crossed. We used their stadium for football, although the stadium was not on campus grounds. Catholic moved across town, built a huge fancy schmancy campus and sports facility not sure if the vibe from years ago is still there. Our neighbor was Father Ryan's football coach, he said their facilities make theirs look second class. (I don't think they ever played at the old school in K'ville, that is ancient)

Oh got sidetracked...their restaurant has reopened!

Well I should get a move on, everyone have a good one!

Your block party sounds fun Kelly! Our neighborhood, I know my neighbors but never heard of a block party! Of course the houses are so far apart and so far back from the road, might be hard to do a lot.

Had my stamping group last night - it's in Brentwood. I am sort of wanting to find a group closer to home and I have found one in Old Hickory, which would save me a little time (though not as much as one might think)...but I would miss my friends - I've been in the same group for years and years and some of faces have changed but there is still a core group of women that are part of it.

Supposed to be a little prettier out today...some sun and a little warmer.

Shut the fridge door!!!

People drive like maniacs, just at higher speeds on "open" road days. Sorry you had to work Saturday. Good you got a fun run in though, sometimes folks can take a que from small events on what works without overthinking them.

Guess maybe that's the case with yoga, trying newer ways to get folks in. Somethings work others don't, guess it's that way with anything. Wow that is some relaxing Gloria, which I guess is good considering your job and commute!

Gwenn you'll get back to where you were, hopefully you'll click with something soon. Sorry about that class though, sounded like a novel idea but then again I know very little about yoga emoticon maybe give it another try.

We had our neighborhood block party Sunday, good crowd of new faces. Those clouds weren't welcome because it made a dank day even chillier. Some hot mulled wine brought by a friend helped the chill factor. Can't remember the last time I had that though so really enjoyed it. Awhile back I made hot cocoa laced with red wine that was good, I'm going to have to find that or maybe I just decided to try it. Chocolate and red wine is good!

Quiet this end of town, you all have a great warm day!
