Our trip to St. Louis was a go for us and Sis is home and happy as a little lark. Bless her little heart. After 5 weeks, I'd want to get home too. I went down today and did some shopping for her. A friend of hers is taking her to get her hair cut in the morning. She is just doing amazing. We are so thankful.

I bought some new yarn today. Loved the colors so in my basket it went. I will be making a couple more infinity scarves for gifts.

I did not know a group of turkeys is called a rafter. Thanks for sharing the wealth. Always good to learn something new. I love to see Turkeys in the wild.

Thanks for the comments on my Afghan. I think it turned out great and it is definitely warm.

Have a good evening. I am off to eat with DH and then settle down for the night. I didn't sleep well last night so tonight maybe an early to bed night.

Seems everyone is busy with life or a creative pursuit…I know that feeling well. Computer work has taken up much of my creative time. But on reflection, it’s a form of creativity, on an analytical level. *ROFLOL* I haven’t started a new block using the basket weave crochet stitch…this weekend I’ll start it so time can be devoted to mastering the task. Time flies when I get absorbed in a database project.

Weather hammered us with snow and rain mix; causing icy, slushy roads. DH, DD and her BF have to trudge through this mess, but all are safe as of this writing. Still, I welcome the moisture…

This morning, from my kitchen window, I enjoyed observing a huge “rafter” of turkeys grazing in the back acreage and next door. *ROFLOL* Did anyone know that a group of turkeys is called a rafter? I had to look up that bit of knowledge: www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-153-1

0_12145_12202-52511--,00.html
And now am sharing the wealth…

Hope everyone is enjoying their day!

SUNNY332: I’ve enjoyed our chats as well. (((HUGS)))) Your kitty blanket is adorable and so cool. Its awesome how that crochet stitch gives the impression of cats sitting on a fence. The stitch designer is so creative - I'm in admiration. Thanks for the video link, added it to my YouTube library. The presenter made it look so simple, with clear verbal instructions too.

Should I not hear from you tomorrow, traveling mercies for you, DSis and DH.

I have osteoarthritis also so know what you mean about keeping your wrists/hands in training. It does help.

I just posted a photo of the "Kittens in a Row" afghan in my Spark Photos.

Love the little yoyo's. When you do get ready to change colors,

Just talked to Sis and she is excited about coming home tomorrow. I baked her some Banana Nut Bread and am now off to fix some Goulash (her request).

I have enjoyed visiting with you. Sunny

*ROFLOL* Yes! It is a huge undertaking. I'm already 8 squares behind as March is quickly approaching and I haven’t finished January and February’s blocks (4 blocks each). emoticon

Nope, I won’t stress myself over the matter, because I’ll catch up. And I’m tagging all of Michael’s crochet stitch videos for my project; making learning and producing easier.

However, my collection of little flower yo-yos are stacking up nicely – that’s a whole different project for another time. They are quick and easy to make, so I try to make at least 4 a night.

Here’s the link to that project: www.yarncrazy.com/simple-yo-y
o-square

I suffer from osteoarthritis. Crocheting is a wonderful way to keep my hands in “training” for when gardening resumes this spring.

And Yes! I saw that kitty pattern you linked to. It’s gorgeous and plain adorable. I would love to see your finished project, or even a partly finished project. Your color scheme sounds fascinating.

I’m no where ready for changing colors while crocheting. *LOL* That’s a goal I have marked down for next winter season. But I do have that patterned saved to my computer so when I get to “switching colors” its one I want to do – badly. I love cats. *S*

Wow - that is certainly an undertaking. I can't wait to see the finished products. Since you are making 4 afgans, do you make 4 squares at a time? That way all of the afgans will be finished around the same time. I made the cutest afgan with cats on it. I made it out of black, white and great. The cats are all in rows and when finished, looks like they are sitting on a fence.

Winter storm Rocky has arrived. It is absolutely beautiful looking out on the woods this morning. Our Son thinks the roads will be clear for traveling tomorrow. Hopefully, he is right about this.

Do have a great day!

I am making my first afghan(s) with blocks of newly learned stitches. A block is about 12 x 12 inches, and it takes about 16-24 blocks to make a blanket. I'm attempting four afghans; 2 for my DDs, 1 for DD's BF, and 1 for myself (and DH).

So my first block is the basket weave stitch... *S*

The winter storm is to hit me about late evening today. We are in a winter storm watch until Wednesday.

Oh! I hope it does not affect your travel plans...

Glad I could be of help. I have never done the blanket stitch so saved the video for me to watch too. Thanks! BTW, what are you making? I just finished an infiniity scarf and I just love the way it turned out and love the colors of the yarn I chose.

Yes, you are so right, forgiveness has to work both ways. Don't ever give up as there is alway hope.

As far as winter weather, yes - Rocky is on his way to the midwest and on eastward. Yikes! We are suppose to pick sis up in St. Louis on Wednesday but may have to delay the trip a day or two.

Hugs, Sunny

Thank you Sunny for doing the cyber search for me. ((((HUGS))))

I adore Michael's videos for learning new stitches; he taught me the bobble stitch 2 months ago. After ripping out my basket weave project this last time, I was going to search for his training video - but you did it for me. Just watched the video and I was right, I was doing the stitch incorrectly. I now know where I errored.

Letting go and forgiveness has to work both ways... she just couldn't forgive me. I must accept that as I move on with life. I love her, and think fondly of her. *S*

Is there another storm brewing in the west, heading east?

PJ, Sis and I haven't always been close but today, we are. We have had a tough couple of years but for the time being, we are closer than we have been in a long time and it is only by His Grace and my willingness to forgive and let go. I am sure you do miss your sis. I will keep you and your Sis in my prayers.

Now that Storm Q is history, I heard today that Storm "Rocky" is making it way toward the heartland. YIKES! Do keep an eye on the forecast and take care of yourself. I ran to the grocery store after Church to pick up a few things we might need in the even Rocky stays around a while.

Here is a video I found on you tube on the Basket Weave Stitch.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zb9CrMuCPhU

It is amazing what you can find on You Tube.

Take care and stay warm!

Good Sunday Morning to everyone!

How is everyone's weekend? What are your week plans?

Mine are the same as last week: computer work, crafting, chores and purposeful activity sprinkled throughout the day.

The weather has calmed, leaving behind a beautiful white blanket of undisturbed snow. Blue skies attempt to peak through the overcast clouds, but their victory is always short lived.

Had to tear out my block, basket weave stitch. I wasn’t doing it right – that’s the fifth time.
emoticon All part of learning: practice and tear out, practice and tear out, practice and tear out, etc…*LOL* I WILL MASTER THIS! *LOL* I will not be subjugated by a bunch of threads. emoticon

SUNNY332: I’m a twin too! She is 5 minutes older and resides in California. She works as a Paralegal; trademark, patent and copyright. She also has one grown daughter. Sadly we are not close any more – family dynamics at its worse. I miss her but pray for her well being all the time.

FIONNA39: Toting 5 gallon buckets of water is my specialty, did it most of the summer last year. *S* Built up my arm and back muscles that’s for sure.

I am with Kansasrose as we woke up to the sun shining and the snow sparkling. Looks like a huge diamond mine in my yard.

I hope to finish my infinity scarf today. What are you crocheting PJ?

Today, I am making some Chicken and Dumplings and also plan to get some exercise in and my scarf finished. Tomorrow, church and sunday school.

My Sis is my twin and we are close. We will go pick her up Wednesday and the goal is that she returns to her own apartment. If need be, she can come here for a while. She never had children so I am the only family she has. We do have a brother but he lives in New York. I am glad she lives close. I think she will doing great. She has had an amazing recovery from the aneurysm and surgeries. God is so good and we are so thankful and grateful.

Hugs to all. Sunny

Yesterday, DH and DD went to work and school without event. The stormy weather came fast and left just as quickly. The weekend plans include: crocheting, writing, digital art, and some other fun stuff.

What is everyone’s plans for the next 2 days?

Sunny: your book sounds delightful. It’s good that sis had someone to turn to during that turbulent moment in her life.

KANSASROSE67: Your world sounds serene with the sparkling and calm weather. How did the shoveling go?

FIONNA39: Can I come visit you for about a week? I just want to see the sun again. *LOL*

We had snow and wind but not the 24" that had originally been predicted. More like 8 inches. I'm heading out to shovel...it's sunny and beautiful with no wind and everything is sparkling.

Thanks PJ. I am actually reading a great book - the 1st in a series. It is The Secret of The Rose.

www.christianbook.com/the-eleventh-h
ou
r-secret-the-rose/michael-phillips/9R>781414307879/pd/30787X

Prussia, 1937
Baron von Dortmann cares for his family with the same passion and devotion with which he tends the roses in his beloved garden. He brings his beautiful daughter, Sabina, to the garden and through his stories, teaches her his wonderful life lessons about God, creation, and love. Already she has caught the eye of the young American, Matthew, and their neighbors son, Gustav. Amid the placid rhythms of his life, the baron looks over his estate with both a father's and a gardener's eyes. Unfortunately, he is not the only one watching. . . .Suddenly a storm sweeps over neighboring Poland the thunder and lightening of the German blitzkrieg and it will change the Dortmann's life forever..

I love Historical Novels and this is proving to be a great read.

I also crochet and have a "infinity scarf" almost done.

Do have a Fab Friday.

My Sis used to live in Holland Michigan. She loved it there but unfortunately there was a divorce. She moved back here to Missouri to be closer to me.

WOW! I'm in Michigan and its heading my way around 5-6am Friday. Bet DD and DH don't leave the house for school and work. Though, I pray DD's BF makes it to work safely.

SUNNY332: Don't forget the hot tea, or cocoa. A good book or some yarn project to make the hours go by quickly. emoticon

It rolled into our area(northeat Missouri) around 11 am and we too have had thunder and lightening. Wierd! emoticon It is a total "white out" right now. Our Lenten Studies have been cancelled and our dental appointments rescheduled (dentist is going home early). I am now hunkered down in my sweats and wooly socks. Love being inside on a day like today and no place to go.

It hit here about 7 a.m.

Huge snow flakes, rumbling thunder, flashes of lightening, and sometimes sleet slamming the windows. Just crazy. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
