Down here in So. GA I am almost a homeless shelter, I have 2 rescued dogs, 1 rescued cat, one kitten and one Mini Schnauzer. I think my pitt/greyhound mix knows he's been rescued. He is very protective of me and loves my grandchild. He has been bitten by a moccasin but is now doing fine. I have had goats, chickens, cows and horses in the past.

I have a very active Australian Sheperd and a rescue cat.....I would love to have chickens but am on my own and that would be too much extra work at this time and there are many predators around!

One is my Ryan. He is a papillon and his back legs are paralyzed. We also have a deaf golden retriever, Leah. My husband has a few guinea pigs as pets.

We have 7 horses. We had 8 but our 30 year old little black mare almost made it to spring. We have 2 dogs. But we are the hot spot for neighbor dogs. The two neighbor bloodhounds are sleeping on my front porch as I type
When we built I had a fish tank built into the wall but had an issue with it, so still no fish yet

Six indoor cats, all rescues:
Stonie, Dusty, Rory, Harmony, Lilly, and baby Georgie. He was abandoned at 3 wks.. Had to syringe feed and then bottle feed. He's doing great now.
We also have a feral colony outside. Never had on this size (6). Not sure how to manage. I know we need to trap/neuter/return but have had a hard time getting in contact with the local agencies. Very frustrating.

Well, I've had some of just about all the farm animals throughout my life, but right now we're living closer to town and only have 2 australian shepherds. Our throwback from farm days. I love my dogs.
Of all things, I miss chickens the most. I think I'd even take a guinea if the dogs wouldn't chase it to death.

We have 227 new black Angus steer calves to fatten over the next year, a farm dog named Sparky- she's a mix of boxer and black Lab, and 2 Quarterhorses, which I ride. I can't seem to get the men in the family to ride with me! I've certainly tried! oh, and we have an unending supply of barn cats. Most of them are too wild to touch. But now that I'll be around more, maybe I can find the nests and socialize the kittens this next year.

Hi everyone! We have 46 head of beef cattle (18 cow/calf pairs, 4 fall calving cows, 2 yearling heifers, 2 coming 2 year old bulls, 1 herd bull, and 1 steer). Also have two small "barn" dogs and two large house dogs (Labrador retrievers). My daughter showed heifers when she was in high school, so many of the old "show girls" are as friendly as the dogs!
I would love to have chickens so we could have fresh eggs, just haven't ever gotten around to it! Would also like to have a dairy cow one day, to have all that fresh milk and make my own cheese & butter. (And also to use as a nurse cow for the occasional orphaned calf or rejected twin)!
My favorite thing about the cows is watching all the babies run and play together in the evening.
My picture shows my daughter's very first show cow with her latest heifer calf born in May this year.

We have a set of twin calves born about 2 weeks ago. They are really cute and the mother is taking real good care of them. She had a set last year too. I guess she thinks that's how many she's supposed to have. lol
In fact, last year we had 3 sets of twin calves. 2 mothers took care of them well. But, one....I became the mother for one of the calves (while she took care of the other). I got it used to the bottle....and then sold it at about 2 weeks old.

I would like to have EVERYTHING but for financial and spacial reasons - I only have a dog, cat and fish. :(
I really want to have alpacas, pigs, cattle (dairy) and sheep/goats.
I don't want chickens nor horses and probably not ducks.
Oh, but I'd just like anything else I suppose.

Right now I have one riding horse, two dogs and one indoor cat.
I would like to get goats, sheep, a cow, a few pigs, and chickens.
My DH and I are working toward complete self sufficiency, although at the moment our land consists of one acre so it's not feasible. We're shopping for acreage now.

I have 2 dogs, 1 inside cat, several outside. I raised nursery pigs (1000 head) till last January. I loved it. It was alot of hard work and dedication. I missed and mourned it for several months. That is all i knew for 17 years. I would love to raise buffalo. I really want to get into Beeffalo which is a cross of buffalo and cows. We shall see. I love taking care of animals. Most of my life i have been on a farm and wouldnt have it any other way.

I'm afraid I'm not one of you, as far as the animals go. We have 1 dog, and a small herd of cattle-80(bull, cows, & calves). Alot of them are big pets. Follow you around when you have a bucket...thinking they're going to get fed. I would love to have other animals...but, dh doesn't think it is feasible right now.

I think animals are amazing & their benefits just can't be matched anywhere. Whether it's just rubbing on a big ol' dog or sitting out it the field with the llamas watching them & listening to them hum...no better therapy on earth. One of our llamas was a bottle baby & has made community appearances. We hope to get him to where he can go to schools & nursing homes. We're trying to start (in conjunction with our farm) a camp for children with chronic/terminal illnesses so we really work with ALL of them to be very gentle & tolerant. Even a lot of our cows love kids & just want to be scratched and loved on!! YC I'm jealous of your lambs!!

Oh, we love our animals! We have a horse and a pony for riding, raise a dozen lambs each the spring and summer to graze the land (and later on for meat!), 3 donkeys that were originally adopted as rescues, but they do guard the lambs, about 30 laying hens, 3 dogs, a house cat, half a dozen barn cats, raise a dozen pigs every fall and winter to keep the barn warm for the hens (and later on for meat!), and we also raise 50 meat chickens per year. I agree LlamaMamma, animals are therapeutic!
