Hi Shamuu! I am also gf/cf and soy free. And I completely agree that the casein is the hardest to work with, especially when you can't use soy as a replacement! I was ok with giving up bread and pasta but when they told me I had to give up ice cream I had a minor panic attack!! Lol!
It's so worth it to feel better though, thats what i always tell myself. Especially because when I do slip up it takes so little to make me feel ill and so long to feel better again.

I'm sorry! I didn't answer re: symptoms of soy and casein--the symptoms for casein for me were stomach pain, cramps, and horrible D. For soy, D too. Each food removed got a little bit better. Casein causes me to have bleeding bowels for some reason. It is also the HARDEST to work around for me.

Well, "potatoes, not Prozac!" ... saw that book at the health food store the other day. And I just had a baked potato myself.

What were your symptoms for the dairy and soy?

Be curious!

Thank you everyone! My symptoms are finally gone since I also had to cut out dairy and soy. Seems like I would be losing weight like crazy, but not happening--although I am losing inches curiously enough. I guess I am absorbing more now and just have to be patient. Portion control, lack of exercise, and my love of POTATOES are now my problem! If we can stay gluten free, we can do this--"piece of cake", right?! Bad choice of phrase, lol. Just keep thinking about how wonderful being thin and FEELING good will be!

Hi Shamuu - Though I'm sorry you're here, I'm glad you're here, too! I was diagnosed Feb 1 last year - and "started" to feel well about 7 months gf.

How are your symptoms doing since going gf?

And doc-hopping - I like that term. I have my laundry list - still cleaning house actually. Oh, to find a great celiac doc. *sigh*

Welcome to our end of the pond, Shamuu =)

emoticon I just was introduced to this site by a friend and wow!!! I am so excited to find you guys! I have been gluten free for a little over a year after the usual miserableness and doc-hopping we all have gone through and since I have been gf,df,soyfree, I am FINALLY healed enough to start getting this poundage off. This looks like a fantastic, fun group of people and I am so excited to start this new phase in my life/health!
