Thank you for the info, I have been wondering what to do when the wheat sneaks up on you. I am new to this and not always good about unknown foods.,

Sorry for the late response, but I recently tried a new product that just came into stores called Gluten Cutter, it has enzymes in it that break down the gluten. So far in my experiences with it, I have had it help with some of the symptoms such as the bloating and such, but not had it help with things like I get headaches from having gluten and that it doesn't help with. It does say to take it before you have the gluten containing food but I have taken it immediately after as well and had some relief from it. The trick also is into figuring out if you need to take just one or to take two of the capsules. I had gotten it because I was going out of town to a wedding that I knew there was no way I could avoid gluten so bought it to give it a try. It also says that if you have celiac you may want to check with your doctor before trying it.

@Mitchtotoman, the flooding in Colorado is shocking. Areas of Alberta went through the same thing this past June just days after I was there. I wish you and all your neighbours all the best. Barb

So far I'm okay... icky feeling but nothing like the normal symptoms. I drank (and continue to drink) a LOT of water, took 2 capsules of Gluten Ease at 1-hour intervals, drank a glass of warm water w/ lemon juice (on the advice of a friend) and then a glass of red wine (on the advice of another friend). Tomorrow, when the weather settles down (??? we live in the flooding area in Colorado) I'll attempt a trip to the natural foods store for another remedy, if necessary. Going to bed soon after another 1-2 glasses of water and hoping for the best!

There is a tea called Smooth Moves that will help you get going but not sure if it will help with the symptoms once it gets into your system

Sometimes I have found Benedryl liquid helps some. It depends on how much I get. So sorry for you. Hope it passes without an issue.

I have a friend that swears by slippery elm, says it helps move things though faster and is nourishing at the same time since its a famine plant (good for times on no food - bad harvest).

some people have had a little success with Gluten Eaze but I think it may need to be taken before.
Good luck. Barb (gf 32 yrs)

I just accidentally ate a small amount of gluten - stupid, careless mistake, but It's been done.

I already know what's coming... is there anything I can do right now to help alleviate the consequences? (lots of water, I know... what else???)
