You should try some coconut flour recipes. Low carb and gluten free.

Mock Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

4 eggs
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/4 t. salt
2 t. garlic powder
1/4 t. onion powder
1/3 c. coconut flour, sifted
1/2 t. xanthan gum
1/4 t. baking powder
1/2 c. extra sharp cheddar cheese shreds

Whisk eggs, butter, salt, onion powder, and garlic powder together.
In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and xanthan gum. Whisk the dry into the wet ingredients. Stir in the cheese. Keep in mind these are biscuits and you should not overwork the batter. Mix only until all dry ingredients are wet. Drop batter into 24 count mini muffin tin that has been misted with olive oil spray. 400 degree oven for 15 minutes or so.

Per mini muffin .8 carbs, 45 calories, 3.7 fat, 1.6 protein. The fat is the healthy kind so don't sweat it.

I have been carb craving for about 2 weeks. I am doing the best I can and trying to keep healthy things around me, but it has been a struggle.

I feel ya! I have done things like that. The anatomy of a binge is as complex as our own anatomies. I have been a frantic eater my whole life. Get back on the horse, today! Don't be too hard on yourself. Treat yourself the way you would treat someone else in your shoes.
I was told I had pre-diabetes with a fasting blood sugar of 140. I have been off refined sugar and carbs for over a year now. Doc wants me to take a glucose resistance test this spring. I am refusing I have decided. Why would I subject my body to that? The 2 week fallout of cravings and lowered immune function along with joint soreness is NOT worth it. He's going to have to wait for an A-1 C because all I am willing to do is monitor my readings for him.

I wish you a good Sunday, Friend! We are all in this together!

Julie

KNYAGENYA, and others missing pizza. There are some great paleo pizza crust recipes floating around the web. One has eggplant and another utilizing cauliflower. I have tried the eggplant one and the cauliflower one and the eggplant is the best hands down. Also, you can make Red Lobster's cheddar bay biscuits with coconut flour and they are to die for! Can't overeat them because they are sooooo filling!

Domino's specifies that their pizza is not appropriate for people with celiac's.
It sounds like it isn't low enough in gluten or contamination issues can arise due to the flying flour in the prep area.

The Albertson's grocery store near me has a decent gluten-free pizza at their pizza deli. I enjoy it!

So far I prefer Udi's pizza crust. I just learned recently Domino's recently now has GF pizza. We don't live near one but would like to try one when I I am in the area of one. I too miss real pizza.

I have been GF for 6 months and have been in search of a really GOOD pizza crust and pizza. I feel like every time I watch TV ALL, and I mean ALL, of the commercials are about pizza and I get so frustrated. I was able to eat pizza in moderation before going GF but is there ANY GOOD GF PIZZA OUT THERE?

Oh, KACEYSW, you are so right about that frozen fruit. They are so good for fighting viral infection due to a dozens reasons. Here are some of the pros-

One: fresh when frozen to witness the clean transfer from store shelf to my packaging processed by myself. Selecting the best possible moment of ripeness trimmed into desired serving sizes and bite size shapes.

Two: no preservatives with this fast freeze action using ascorbic acid once in a while to enhance vitamin C levels during stressful days; without too much C causing diarrhea yet helping the stress glands the endocrine adrenals with small amounts throughout the day.

Three: sweet finger food of gourmet caliber with potential as snack lunch box and main meal amounts.

Four: fun for the whole family.

Five fits into that magical fiber category of foods to fill the tummy for longer get up and go through the day until next refueling; and with trace sugars in immune strengthening ways.

Six: The variety of fruits can be had in large amounts in mixed servings and some fresh frozen summer harvest fruit all year long; yet enjoy having a frozen treat during the long hot summer days.

I have been GF for about 17 years now. My biggest craving has been proteins and I just make sure that I keep them in check. I do keep unsweetened frozen fruit around for when I do get carb cravings.

Cravings are messages from the brain. I recovered from those deep cravings and yo-yo dieting with a combination of tools and a changed perspective. I get better sleep of longer hour sessions; stopped all artificial things and stimulants like caffeine sweeteners and preservatives, stopped consuming additives of corn soy and yeast derived like citric acid of carbonated beverages and many processed foods; found out what vitamins and minerals I was missing like better ratios of calcium and magnesium each day. I may be gluten-free and on a structured feeding schedule but my healthy tissue reserves still needed recharging after IBS. This recovery and habit changes should not be left to chance.

My doctor added vanadium and molybdenum to my trace mineral once-daily set. I get a capsule of friendly bacteria of 5 billion strong in 12 types. Then I add a few whole grams of cold pressed coconut oil (without hexane) or vitamin E omega-3 fatty acids a little at each meal. My fish oil supplements have been molecularly distilled to remove heavy metals (toxic heavy metals could cause cravings).

I supplement time constraint hunger with organic protein in every snack; and use bromelain, vitamin B5, Malic acid, and additional lysine as needed for pain and better digestion. Your own enzyme and amino acid support may be different; and a naturopathic specialist or nutritionist can help you discover your true nutritional wants and effective weight loss keep-it-off power without the side effects of cravings. My hormone levels were showing the stress and now they are better regulated through bio-identical replacements that can assist me to adapt and squash cravings. I have a good habit of drinking water to one hour before a meal because the dilution of the digestive juices during the meal causes bloating and cramps.

I also found that sugar among other organic and natural whole foods contain sulfur molecules were blocking my bodys ability to keep my immune and pain control system strong. See a nutritionist to find your strengths and feel better with the loss of those dominant cravings. My recovery from malnutrition has stopped that awful yo-yo action of regaining with more added! If you actually wait until deep hunger sets in your body is eating muscles including the heart so eat regular meals with snacks. Let mild happy hunger be real not just an ache for caving satisfaction.

I too have found that if I have cereal (GF) that I crave more carbs but if I have a high protein breakfast then I don't crave carbs.

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

For me starting the day with protein and some fat, and protein throughout the day has worked miracles. I eat 2 eggs cooked In a teaspoon of coconut oil. Less than 200 calories!

The fewer carbohydrates I eat, the less that I have cravings. I agree to eat protein and healthy fats. A green smoothie including brewer's yeast can also help.

IMO taking fish oils helps too.

Make sure you're getting adequate B vitamins.
I like fortified nutritional yeast for this purpose.
Before ya go " O gross, yuck"... nutritional yeast tastes just like chicken bouillon... its an easy trick to stir in a tablespoon of the flakes into a green smoothie or put it on a sweet potato or sprinkle it like Parmesan cheese over veggies.

I've read that glutamine (an amino acid) is also helpful for stopping carb cravings. You just put a half to a quarter teaspoon under your tongue and let it dissolve.

I'd look into finding a way to get more fresh produce into your diet and less commercially prepared foods.

A way to do this is to have a green smoothie everyday that includes Kale.

Add a probiotic. There's been some research to suggest that our cravings are determined in part by the composition of our residential gut bacteria.

Here's a link to an article that discusses it: bodyecology.com/articles/food_cravin

You can beat this, the key is to find out what works for your particular body and stick with it.
