Thanks for the welcome ladies.. I am waiting to here back from my doctor re: appt with the dietician..but have been doing alot of reading on the internet.. there is so so so much information to check into isn't there? lol lol I did go to a group when I was first diagnosed, but time was a factor and just didn't continue. There are quite a few in my area. The gluten part I have pretty much under control..but now the other one is throwing me for a loop a bit. But will figure it out with help from friends like you. Yes I know all about the meds also.. I had a liver transplant Nov 2000 so am on alot of different meds for anti-rejection etc. My doctors really consider all when it comes to what I can and can not take. But some I will have to take the rest of my life and learn to work aroudn them,
But other then that I am doing really well.. love life and plan on sticking around for some time ..Now the biggest thing is to get off my "duff" and get moving. Treadmill is calling me right now, so will check back in with all of you later..
emoticon Kathy

I also am finding Clan Thomas pretty helpful on the web. I'm really new to this, but think I'm ready to check out the Gluten Free Mall.

By the way, be careful of meds for "borderline"diabetes. My sister and also one of the people she works with both had the same medicine for that, and it was about doing them in. She was losing all kinds of weight, her hair was getting scraggly....Ill ahve to find out what the name of the medicine was. Once she stopped taking it, she started improving right away.

Hi and welcome GMAKathy! We look forward to getting to know you also. I'm paranoid of getting diabetes and don't envy you your current position. I hope to learn from your experiences.

Do you attend a celiac support group near your town where you might meet others with like health challenges? Good luck with your dietician; let us know what you learn, k?!

Hello all.. I just found this wonderful group and am thrilled to pieces. I have been diagnosed with gluten entropy sine 1988.. have no idea how long I had it prevously, but no gluten is the key. I have just been diagnosed with diabetes (border line) and really need to get myself into a diatectian at this point to find out where to go from here. If anyone is looking for a good direction to go as far as foods, information, books etc.. just check out the Gluten Free Mall. com on the internet and it will help alot. I am hoping to get to know more of you with this challenge in life. Not easy at times, but I really want to feel good and stay healthy as long as possible.. emoticon Kathy
