California Pizza Kitchen now offers a GF menu. We have a small, local restaurant (Central FL) called the Pizza Gallery and they have a fabulous GF menu. Chef is specially trained to prepare and serve GF foods. My daughter goes to Outback and asks for the chicken PLAIN, along with plain veggies and baked potato and has done very well.
BEWARE of salad dressings. They can be major offenders.
We have also had very good luck at 2 local Asian restaurants. We get brown rice, tofu and veggies, all done GF and very tasty.

I think we should all frequent and support the local restaurants that are trying to serve yummy GF fare (as much as budgets will allow).

I do not know of resturants with a gluten free menu. I usally eat at home, but I do go to dinners. I have way more allergies then just wheat, so I am extra hard to feed.

Now I will have to find out if the Outback in my town has a gf menu. Thanks for the info.

If you tell God no because He won't explain the reason He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience. What matters more than material blessings are the things He is teaching us in our spirit.

I was talking to my sister in Michigan and she said that her Outback offers buns so when you go or call, ask them if they have hamburger buns or rolls. I meant to mention that when I was telling you, but was so excited to let you know that I had forgotten.

Thanks for all of your feed backs.

Char I am glad it was legitimate! I would have just thought a waitress had made a mistake! You are right they probably are very careful...I will have to see if our Outback has them.

Our local Outbacks (Albany and Clifton Park, NY) have been providing GF burger buns and rolls for a few years. They get them from a GF bakery in Saratoga, NY called Saratoga Gluten Free Goods. I think corporate has been looking for local GF providers to try to bring GF bread to as many Outbacks as possible.

Wow - I hadn't heard that Outback has GF buns. Thanks for sharing - I'll have to try that!

I know their staff is trained in cross-contamination and are very careful with GF food prep. I've eaten there many times and have never had a problem. They even offer a GF flourless chocolate cake -- and use sugar to "flour" the pans.

Cindy, I hear you but with Outback having a reputable name they cannot afford to be sued. Also my BIL, who is also Celiac, goes their a lot and has never encountered a problem. In fact, he said they go out of their way especially with him being Celiac.

Donna, that is why I want to know where they purchase their hamburger buns.

BTW I just heard that Cracker Barrel has a gf menu. DH and I will be meeting my niece in Kingman next month and will be going there. I will let everyone know how it was.

Char, I will have to look at their on-line menu. I have only been there a couple of times and that was before GF days;. Glad it was so good. Makes a person want to order some buns to take home and freeze.

About a couple of weeks ago, hubby and I went out to dinner at Outback. They do have a gluten free menu. I asked for a hamburger and baked potato. The fries are not gf which is really good lol. Anyways I ordered my meal and was expecting a hamburger patty with the potato. Here comes the waitress with my hamburger on a bun. My first thought, OH NO. I then proceeded to tell her that I ordered from the gf menu. She said this is gf and you are good to go.

Well I ate the hamburger and it was the best hamburger on a bun that I have had in two (2) years. I thought that I died and went to heaven. It was absolutely delicious. I cut the bun in half and it did not even fall apart. I meant to ask them where they buy their buns. Next time I go back, I will ask.

I was so impressed that I had to share this with all of you and know that you would understand where I am coming from.
