Yeah, it does make me wonder how much experience the nutritionist referenced has with celiacs. Not bad articles I thought, and nice that the story received national mention. But agree, since Djokovic was found to be positive for the condition, celiac, and with the many negatives that condition is known to have on the body, it doesn't not surprise me that Novak is performing better on the court now.
And now that I know he avoids grains, like me, I'll have to watch him more often!
Overall, I think even many non-celiacs will find benefit eating wheat free. Remember seeing nutritional writer Tom Naughton writing about his personal experience, along with others, of going grain free last week.

There is a yahoo article about this too but they seem to be belittling the impact gluten can have on a person
It was kind of annoying to read.

Hey Kate- my fibromyalgia has improved with celiac diet too! I think that the healing of our immune system helps us to have a total body that functions better. I am not a tennis star but I know how I feel. Eating healthy and putting in better fuel results in a physically better body!

It truly doesn't surprise me. I still have some fibromyalgia problems, but they are so much better than they were while I was eating whole grains which contained lots of whole wheat!
My thyroid is levelling out, and my energy level is way higher for the most part. Hmmm. I'm not advocating it for everyone, but, when you feel like doodoo, maybe it's worth trying. :)

Saw this on Dr. Eenfeldt's sight and thought it interesting. The worlds top tennis player might be a celiac.
From the article:
"Novak Djokovic is undefeated this year, he has won 39 matches in a row. Experts believe he will very soon advance from number two on the rankings to become the number one player in the world.
So what is the secret to his form? Many things, no doubt, but maybe this is a big factor: He no longer eats any pizza, pasta or bread."
