Bingnomore83-welcome. Can we address this excellent list to digest one topic at a time? Oh, and I would like to see our leader initiate approval of these common allergen testing food issues. A discussion is open for a dialog of: Wheat, nuts oranges, tomatoes, pork and corn. We like to get the latest chatter in the wheat politics and other life benefiting facts from people who do this gluten-free thing every second of every single day. Each of us and our motives are not the same. The healthy way to avoid an allergen or an intolerance food still hits the sensitive nerve which will resist change. We all want hope to lead the campaign program of denial turned inward. Going gluten-free seems like chaos to a once organized food plan. It is not easy. The steps it takes to get there are the mile stones of achievement. The gentle tips to improve on an improvement needed situation can often be heard right here on this team. Take the time to share an event that may invoke more hope for some one struggling to make sense of this inner turmoil. In my own circle of influence each one of these potential allergic reaction foods have genuine causes; I had to stop eating them. I faced down the scary issues in gradual understanding one by one. I experienced to rotation diet in order to come to accept my need to stop eating them.
I can see a vernacular happening and confusion with each double meaning on the same word. We have created a synonym of Allergen and Intolerance. The definitions can vary with the person using the vocabulary in mixed company and with mixed meaning. For example what is an allergen and what is an intolerance issue. So far the meaning seems to lie in the documentation of signs by a formal doctor. You will want to know the major differences when the asking those interesting questions. Here is a brief over view; an allergy if left ‘uncared for/untreated’ will fall into a blood poisoning like shock of an army of white blood cells and the lab report numbers will fluctuate drastically called anaphylactic shock. An intolerance is not considered a blood issue but more of an inflammation causing condition that sometimes spreads from one organ or body region into a more all over discomfort. Both are measurable.
If you self test as I do; some of your ‘ledger facts’ are admissible in court. The self testing helps produce self awareness that works to alleviate emotional pain and leads to more empowerment and self control. These self generated ledgers; they fall into a category of wonderfully handy tools to share times, dates of bouts of illness in an appointment session with a doctor. They help focus on a specific body action that correlates to a certain theme. Some lab testing and a personal following of the laboratory trail should lead to keeping copies for your own file. Again, hope and self control are winning steps to overcome the madness. Learn what each entry means.
In order to get better, a doctor has to see that you are sick; then document it. This may lead to more open dialog and going deeper into the lab numbers than what is considered ‘in the normal ranges’. To help all concerned then the need for specific health questions to get answered is a new priority. Some times these questions where never addressed by the doctor. To answer the uncommonly asked for missing details; then testing to reach a ‘feels good’ spot on your opinion and the ‘within range’ on the lab results will take some dancing and some time to get the doctor to endeavor by tweaking your foods choices thus getting the lab numbers to create your own ranges and limits of personal satisfaction and comfort. If you hurt when the doctor says you are okay then the answers are not available in that doctor’s analysis and medical file to see why you still hurt. Some of the story is missing. If you show a borderline or a flagged lab result then it behooves a person to find all the options of care then decide with the doctor to aim for that stretch to reach a better score. I have tested a high in places and a low in other places that when the numbers are strategically adjusted the feel is so much better. The average lab answers are not your best numbers. This may be why it took so long to find the problem. Sometimes the chart will read normal but a little more adjustment is needed within the already considered okay range. If you have a test range of 3-9 and you hurt on a 3.5; The doctor may stop trying; then a goal of a 6 may be wanted for more internal balance. And that doctor may not have all the tools to get you there.
Each food you find yourself intolerant to has a complex set of properties: enzymes, proteins, amino acids, minerals, etc….that modern food science has discovered to be more harm than the nutritional benefit is valued. With the many alternative choices the food value may have to be recalculated to fit new guidelines. It may be one of these issues seen in diagnosis or an eroding complex set of many issues in small ways. By finding out all the seemingly little reasons why something should be removed from the diet can have exciting healing and encouraging affects on the level of hope you share with yourself. This is my experience after the chip has left my shoulder.
I know wheat is a serious life threatening food all too common in the diet. Then added are the other no-no’s to overwhelm a person. This will cause an avalanche of emotional discomfort and require some negative thinking to approach the other side with an over all positive belief. Hang in there. This has been tackled by others and the light and glory are obtainable.
And this is where the money and politics step in. When the issue is neglected and ignored in a hope that it will go away; conditions may grow worse and you and the doctor could sure use some answers. Knowing what to spot and how to change for the better can be daunting. The right additional tests would show evidence to motivate a doctor to bother with extensive time and testing. That professional would need a reason to look there. A motive to then set up the lab request required to register a small change. It may seem insignificant to the doctor but if it leads to your comfort and a way of healing; then go for it! Most of us want a change for the good. When the outcome is a win-win then that ledger can pin point correct tests which need to be generated. Less shooting in the dark and more direct hit answers can smooth the way to healing and understanding of this food change. Some of the tests are not ‘insurance accepted’. So OUT –OF –OF-POCKET can be an alternative with a few of the tests a doctor may not see a need to research. A doctor usually has the desire to verify a condition, and help a person get the steps to improve if possible. It will follow a progression of proven healing and invade the body as little as possible and the signs of complications will show signs of diminishing and less pain. Is this the goal?
