To give a quick answer to your question, have you gone through your cupboards to separate, donate or throw away gluten items yet?
Next, I'd say to get a menu plan. There are ideas and suggested links in the sticky topics. Shop the perimeter of the grocery store til you get a grasp on label reading. Don't panic, it'll become rote soon enough. :) If you need anything else, please let us know.

Hi Janice! I'm new, too. So far, Spark has been a wealth of information and I'm loving the boards. I've actually gained a few pounds since going gluten free a few weeks ago. But, starting today I've promised myself that I'll use the food log. I'm guessing if I know exactly what calories, etc. are going into my body, I'll have better control and lose the weight I desperately need to!

Everyone has a slightly different opinon. You should find many answers to your questions that will help you get on your way. You haven't said where you are from or any other information. I'm so glad to find a group on Spark People with a Celiac support group. I was diagnosed in January with Celiac's Disease and have found it VERY hard to keep my weight down with this new diet. I would love to hear how you are all managing and working through the changes.
