I check mine on my nutrition counter daily but don't want to report on it every day. Mine is usually on the low side of what I need but I keep working on it. A flax seed muffin really helps!

Dots, that's what I thought. I don't have time to enter my foods. I found it too time consuming but it is the best way to keep on track.

Barb - I track my nutrition, and on that page, toward bottom, right side, under "grocery list" there's a button for "SEE TODAY'S FULL REPORT" ... up pops a new page with your nutrition stats. It shows carbs, fats, protein, fiber and other nutrients you want to track. Good question.

Dsquared. Thanks for the chuckle. I totally understand. THANK YOU for saying that's it's THE most important, cause I agree (hence the thread). No stress allowed: enjoy your colored food as you should then! lol

I appreciate your diligence but if I have to count one more thing I will go nuts!!! I just make sure my plate is very "colorful". I know I should count them, in my text book for school I keep reading that fiber is THE most important part of staying healthy and warding off chronic disease and illness. Why wouldn't I want to know I was making that happen every day?????

What I like about fruits and veg are the phytonutrients, antioxidants, sterols & stanols that come 'with' the fiber.* The more you eat, the less you'll weigh (it's difficult to overeat veg, don't you think?); they feed your cells the nutrition we're trying to get. They're also packed with water. I'm not so good about variety, that's where I could shake it up.

I'll come back to edit this at the end of the day to share my grams/day; if I have time (and you others, too), I'll share where I got the fiber to give ideas to others, esp newbies who may worry about not getting enough.

It's my belief that the more soluble fiber you have, the more you "go", the more cholesterol is taken out of your body. I know there's some INsoluble fiber in fruits/veg, too; and I could stand to try some quinoa or healthy gf grain once in a while, too. I just haven't wrapped my head around the grains as much. But you know that about me: I've been a lazy (kinda depressed) cook :P.

Great idea Dots!
I can't keep track but I practice many of the suggestions made by Shelly. I know when I don't have enough fiber or water so I make sure I up my intake.
Today I am making pumpkin squash soup, then I add quinoa, veg and tofu.

I love veggies and fruits and am usually in my range without a problem every day. It's the fats I am usually over on.

Fiber count ... not just for sheets. I read at some point "back in the day" we used to eat up to 300g of fiber daily. We might have adapted to less now, but we still need it. Let's keep each other on track by being accountable to our daily fiber. Are you in?
